HRC aide: 'People understand the reality'

From NBC's Andrea Mitchell
After a day when Bush and McCain were attacking Obama on foreign policy, Hillary Clinton was talking about rural issues in South Dakota -- not why she's still in the race or how she can win the nomination, although she did fire back at McCain.

Asked if there had been a change in message, a top Clinton aide told NBC News, "People understand the reality, but they are still loyal to her."

Asked again about the softened message, the aide replied: "This is what she has been doing" for more than a week -- an indication that this reality set in after Clinton's less-than-stellar performances in North Carolina and Indiana.

On Edwards' endorsement, the Clinton aide said, "It hurt, but it was not a surprise." NARAL's endorsement, on the other hand, was "shocking."

"Edwards was not her friend; they were her friend."

Yea but does Hillary know the reality....I hope its starting to sink in.....While she is in South Dakota, she needs to be stuming for Obama...and stop bulls**ting
At this point, any super delegate who endorses Senator Clinton is going to be in the same position as the steerage passengers were on the Titanic!
It's FINALLY sinking in to The Clintons...

This is OVER!

The fat lady in the pantsuit is singing!
I wonder how "shocked" she's gonna be when superdelegate Bill Clinton switches to Barack Obama.  I bet it's coming anyday now...
The reality is that after June 3rd, Hillary will win the popular vote with the help of Puerto Rico.

She will then fight on in Denver.

Go Hillary!!!
Right, Hill. The NARAL was your friend, until it became politically unwise for them to endorse you. Welcome to politics.

By the way, how's your buddy Eliot Spitzer?
Please Senator Clinton stop taking your supporters hard earned money for a race you cannot win (even with FL & MI you can't win).  The GOP is screwing up left and right--we need a unified party to put a stop to them once and for all.  It's time.
NARAL was her friend??? *boggle*
Hillary Clinton supporters should NOT be insulted any longer and they never should have been.  If you have a problem with Hillary, it's a problem you have with Hillary - not her supporters.

I am a Barack Obama supporter.  That said, I understand the disappointment her supporters are feeling, as I'd feel the same if the shoe was on the other foot.

Please posters - let's be respectful to each other.  If we disagree, let's do so in a responsible manner.  We can agree to disagree, in fact, I encourage it.  By exchanging our views and what knowledge we do have about the candidates, we, as voters, will go to the polls in November more informed in what will be one of the most important elections we'll see in our lifetime.

Can we stop the insults and agree to exchange opinions using respect and constructive criticism please?  Thank you for considering this.
I don't know why Hillary was shocked about NARAL. Obama is 100% behind a mothers right to kill babies. Hillary is only 99.8% behind it.
I think this is proof that the Edward's endorsement took the wind out of Hillary's sails.  Hopefully she will continue to keep her tone subdued when talking about Obama as her kitchen sink strategy is what sunk her but good at the end.

I look forward to Hillary coming on board the winning Obama campaign and tossing that kitchen sink of hers at "Bush Hugger" McCain.

Go Obama 08/12!
HILLARY YOU ALMOST HAD MY VOTE, UNTIL YOU PLAYED THE RACE CARD..."I HAVE WHITE, HARDWORKING VOTERS ETC."

I LOVED YOUR HUSBAND AND BELIEVED HIM TO BE A GOOD PRESIDENT.

I SPENT THE FIRST 4 YEARS OF THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION WAITING FOR YOU TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT.

BUT THIS CAMPAIGN HAS TAUGHT ME A VALUABLE LESSON.

THE TRUE CHARACTER OF A PERSON SHOWS WHEN THEY HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE.

AND...THAT IS WHEN YOU LOST ME.

TAKE CARE AND GOOD LUCK!
"Edwards was not her friend; they were her friend."????????

What a slap in the face of John Edwards. Who was courting whom here.

Incredible!

When we lose the white house in the fall to McCain we can all then say...we had a great person and we let her slip away.

Say what you want about the Clintons', but without them, as Democrats we need to reach back to before most of the people supporting Obama were even born to find a Democrat that held the white house for 8 years. Bill Clinton made it acceptable to have african americans in politics, even Deval Patrick worked within his administration.

The media and many liberals want to blame racism on his loss in WV. They didn't vote for him because they live in reality, worrying about how to make ends meet. They know Hillary is the only real choice to fix this country.

I will likely not vote for McCain...but I will not vote for him either. In the end in won't matter anyway, because as BO says...even though he lost NY in the primary he won't lose it in the fall. I guess we'll see.

NARAL should be ashamed of themselves. Edwards was no surprise.

Hillary we need you to help Obama you are an important part of the change we need in America.  Please help us win in November you can help mentor Obama.  God Bless you Hillary you did the best you could.  I am sorry for all the mean things I bloged about your campaign.

We need you on board you and Bill.

Obama 08
Heidi in Houston (not the other one)--

Hear, hear!  Trash-talking might seem fun at the time, but there's nothing to be gained by it.

As for HRC, she did promise herself never to quit.  Going out and meeting folks and talking about issues isn't quitting, exactly-- not in the technical sense.  And I DO appreciate the more-civil tone-- and hope it lasts.  Stopping without quitting, I guess.

Obama '08
Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever.

Is it June 4th yet?  Hillary's tribulations are no longer interesting.  Sorry.
John Edwards is some kind of hero...why not wait until the end if he wasn't going to come out before NC.  I still believe that the Obama campaign will fall apart, over Michelle, Rev. Wright or some other dirty laundry...But in the end, he just doesn't have the experience and that is what is the final stake in the coffin for me.

Go Hillary...go to the convention.
I am surprised at the amount of people that say they will vote for Mccain if Hillary is not the democrate's nominee.

I thought Democrates wanted health care.

I thought Democrates wanted a fix to the economy.

I thought Democrates wanted a solution to NAFTA.

I thought democrates wanted women to always have a choice when it came to their body.(rare but legal)

I thought Democrates wanted less influence by big corporations and lobbiests.

I thought Democrates wanted a secure social security, allowing retirement with dignity.

I thought Democrates wanted a champion to represent hard working middle Americans in Government.

I thought Democrates wanted the ability to send their children to college.

I thought Democrates wanted a green economy and to put an end to oil.

I thought Democrates believed in a better America after George Bush.

I thought Democrates wanted to put an end to Cowboy deplomacy.

I thought Democrates wanted to end the war in Iraq and bring our soldiers home.

I thought Democrates wanted a better world for their children and grandchildern

I thought after 8 years of George Bush and the Republican party tearing a hole in the fabric of America all Democrates would stand together and take the USA back from King George and his corrupt Republican friends that have lied for 8 years to the American people.

Please Democrates... don't cut off your noses to spite your face.  Stand together and take your country back.
