Hillary: 'This is nowhere near over'

From NBC/NJ's Mike Memoli and NBC's Mark Murray
Campaigning in Maysville, KY this morning, Clinton just said, "I believe that with your help, we will send a message to this country -- because right now more people have voted for me than have voted for my opponent. More people have voted for me than for anybody ever running for president before. So we have a very close contest. The votes, the delegates. And this is nowhere near over. None of us are going to have the number of delegates we need to get to the nomination. Although I understand my opponent and his supporters are going to claim that."

In another sign that the Clinton campaign won't be throwing in the towel anytime soon, it has announced its first TV ad in South Dakota, which has its contest on June 3.

Here's the script of the 30-second ad, which focuses on the economy:
Hillary Clinton: The Bush economy is like a trapdoor.
Too many families are one pink slip, one missed mortgage payment, one medical diagnosis away from falling through and losing everything.
The oil companies, the predatory student loan companies, the insurance companies and the drug companies have had seven years of a president who stands up for them.
I intend to be a president who stands up for all of you.

Hillary, please go away already. Enough.
At this point, all I can do is laugh and watch her continue to make a fool of herself ...
Isn't the only real question whether:
1. She is a relentless politician or
2. She is an outright liar or
3. She is delusional?

I feel sad for Hillary, I really do. But I wish she'd stop.
Sen. Clinton;
The states you have won are "the states you would have to win"... only if YOU are ignoring all of the other states. You also must understand that closely matched states between you and Obama would most likely go Democratic in the fall; regardless of who the candidate is. It is time to cease all talk that is potentially divisive of the party; unless of course you are really trying to derail this years’ Democratic Ticket with an eye toward 2012, as some have suggested. If that is the case, you will find the (seemingly unanticipated) backlash, ruinous of those aspirations.

You have the popular vote only if you count those votes in the two states that were stripped of their delegations, (with your signed agreement); and you also ignore or under count those pesky caucus states that you thought were also unimportant.

Either way, the popular votes is not the metric for the Democratic Primary process, that metric is the number of delegates won, nationwide.

While you are happy to have the state of Kentucky "all to myself", you are less than truthful when you speak as though Sen. Obama has not campaigned there, and you sound as though he does not plan to return there. You assertion that he seems not to care about this state could not be further from the truth; and no one has suggested that the state of Kentucky "should not vote"!!

It is less than palatable when we hear of your focus on "certain states"; that a Democrat must win in the General Election, and yet at the same time you say Obama does not care about certain states...it seems what you are really saying is that the two of you adopted slightly different Electoral College strategies, but both strategies appear to have the same core focus of concentrating your efforts where you are expected to do well. Isn't this how everyone runs a campaign? Do you "not care" about NC, SC, etc. in the GE; or are you trying to dictate how and where Obama Campaigns on the path forward? My point is, either stance is unacceptable to the American Public. You run your campaign, and let Obama run his.

Sen. Obama has not defamed you in his campaign. He has on occasion called some basically unfair statements, and changes of positions to our attention, and I believe that you have done the same, just as vigorously. He has not at any time declared that Sen. Clinton cannot win the GE. We are tired of hearing this type of statement, no matter how you frame it, from YOU.

We understand your fears about the Electoral College, but would point out that you are only viewing the map in traditional terms, and that under those same terms of view, your electability is just as much in question as Obama's.

Run the race, but be a Democrat first; and please put America First!!
YES WE CAN.

Vote against the Democratic Party. It’s the only way to send the message that sexism has to be thrown under the bus, “sweetie.”

VOTE AGAINST OBAMA.

NOT SO MUCH FOR MCCAIN AS IT IS AGAINST THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY.

She just never gets tired of lying does she?  It's amazing that there are people in this country who would support someone so corrupt for the highest office in the land.  Give it up, Hillary.  You are trailing in delegates, super delegates, states won, and yes popular vote.  You are not going to catch Obama in any of those categories in the contests that remain.  It is over, and you lost.

Obama/Anyone but Hillary Clinton in 2008.  Integrity matters and the Clintons have none.
Hillary Clinton's Campaign today is like a bad episode of the old TV series "Fantasy Island". She can't catch up in pledged delegates, and any Super Delegates who endorse Senator Clinton at this point are going to be in the same situation as the steerage passengers were on the Titanic. Could one person's ego (Hillary Clinton's) possibly be worth all this fuss?
Isn't there some law about false advertising that comes into play here?  She doesn't have more votes than her opponent.  She's choosing to discount some states that held legal caucuses, and she's counting some states that held illegal primaries.

This is what we're talking about when we call this person a liar.  Can you even imagine how she'd handle jobs or economic reports?

"Well, I know the elite media says it's a recession, but if look at really important industrial states, and you don't take into account Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, and a few other old-economy industrial regions, we're actually experiencing an economic boom!"
Why do people let her get away with this mess?? Because she is a "Clinton"? She needs to ride off into the sunset. She has not won anything, but the biggest loser ever!
Is there no end to this nightmare!!!!!! This woman will not go gently! she will end this kicking and screaming.Destroying the party and Obamas chances of winning in the fall! how shameful.Super delegates stop this madness!!!
The homemade math matrix the Clinton campaign uses is unprofessional and silly. I hope the Obama campaign continues to move forward in a honest and fact oriented way; the hallmark of a good leader. The Clinton campaign looks foolish and it shows that they don't care about 2008. However, Obama will win anyway, because this country is ready for change.
Whoo Hoo! Go girl!! Did anyone see how your "hope" and "change" guy resurrected his Grandma for political points this weekend?(first read, "obama, Operation Patriotism") Wow he's quite a guy! Pulling her out from under the bus he threw her under to defend Rev Wright's whacked views. "Typical White Folks" are good for something I guess.
The media needs to call Clinton on this continuing line from her campaign. Clinton's metric for winning has been changing ever since she entered this race. She certainly feels that she can change the rules as the game rolls along and I believe that the media has not called her out on this enough.
Call Obama for America @ 866-675-2008 and let them know you don't want Hillary Huckabee on the Obama ticket.
Time to get out of the dryer "spin cycle" is over. Once all the Clinton supporters are out of their "dizzy spells" they will realize that it's over.
For crying out loud, could someone explain to me how Hillary Clinton, with debts topping $20 million, has the funds to keep her campaign going?! How can she afford to putting ads up anywhere?! Has she loaned herself more? Why aren't we hearing anything about this?
"Well said, and for those who don't know history they are doomed to repeat it. How frightening it is to see how similar Obama's rise to prominence mirrors Hitler's."
Jane Doe (Sent Sunday, May 18, 2008 8:37 PM)

ARE YOU INSANE?  What do you think he is going to do - anniliate white people?  Are you really that stupid?

Granted, there are unknowns about Mr. Obama, but we thought we knew what we were getting with Bush - and we all can see how HE turned out.

We've had a BUSH or a CLINTON in the White House for 20 yrs - I'm ready for someone new.  Otherwise, why don't we just go back to a monarchy?

And for that idiot with the boom box remark - grow up.  Besides, when's the last time you've even SEEN a boom box?  LOL.

I'm trying not to call people supporting others names, but comments like these just invite people to call you what you are.  Either a troll or just monumentally stupid.
Like a republican "McCain Hugger" Hillary keeps trying to put false words into Barack's mouth.  Barack and his far smarter campaign staff know not to declare victory prematurely, the way she did so early on claiming to be the inevitable winner before a single vote was cast.

She says she wants all votes counted yet disenfranchises caucus states where votes aren't tallied publicly.

The popular vote argument is totally wrong ever since the end of February when the Democratic voter pool became polluted with repugnant ones trying to vote for "McCain Hugger" Clinton now so that they could screw up our party's primary and then vote against her in the fall.

Go Obama 08/12!
Hillary who?

Everyone's ignoring HRC, even the republicans.

But seriously, she only leads in the popular vote IF you include Michigan and Florida - the exact two states that she agreed could not be counted. The DNC, and fairly so,  will not give her full delegates for those states since they violated the early primary rules. She's losing and still insists on trying to change the rules. Spin away little spider, spin away......

Obama 08
Hillary will campaign until she gets the nomination. obama can't win in Nov. Once again, my offer goes out to all, especially us "bitter" folks. Bible study and gun show @ my place tonite. As usual, just look for the mailbox that reads, "typical white folks" BYOB!
WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR UNITY MESSAGE, HILLARY?
Paddy,SD,Ca...
Why are you still around? You keep propagandizing for losers, you, like Hillary, don't get it. You contribute nothing and don't even have anything positive to say about your new love McNothing!
The ONLY message that will be sent from KY tomorrow is that Ky is just as racist as West Virginia is. Period. AND it won't make any difference. Obama will be the nominee come Wed morning and Hillary can go bake cookies or something.
Why won't the MSM take her to task for the idiocy of her argument?  Obama wasn't on the ballot in Michigan and didn't campaign in Florida.  At the time of both votes he was relatively unknown.  The lack of intellectual honesty in her argument is stunning.  But I don't know whats worse: her actually having the audacity to make such an argument; or the MSM for reporting it in such a way as to lend it viability.  Only those who rode the little bus to school would actually buy this argument, or they are to young too young to vote.  Either way they are mentally incapable to fully understand the situation and probably can't even purchase this so called "news" with their own money.  I thought thatone of the linchpins of journalism was the search for the truth.  It seems that principle has been sold to the highest bidder.
With all the spinning of the math Hillary has shown her Washington experience and how deceitful and disingenuous she is when it comes to telling the truth. To me a Hillary presidency would represent the same old lies and fabrication we have gotten too used to.......ENOUGH IS ENOUGH..GO AWAY
Honorable people leave the stage when ovation is loudest! I guess Hillary is not in that category, she prefers to be walked off the stage.
What worries me most about Hillary staying in the campaign is the debt that she is racking up.  Even if this is coming from her personal funds, at some point in time money will have to be raised (most likely with the aid of the Obama camp and supporters) to pay off her ever-rising losses.

So not only do I have to listen to her rhetoric and ever-changing standards for winning, but, as an Obama supporter, I'm also paying for it.

Please bow-out with what little grace and dignity you have left Senator Clinton.

Thank you.
This is really getting just plain sick. Hillary's insistence on staying in the race has moved beyond principle and into pathology. I pray she survives this embarrassing delusional quest. It is time for the super delegates to step up and step in to end this sad spectacle.
Oh Gaaawwwwdd!!  Please STOP IT!!! Hillary, have you taken this THAT personally that the dnc didn't just HAND the nomination to you??  We have a process.  He beat you playing by all the rules, without really personally attacking you.  Give us a break!  You are wearing down that once great name Clinton, until now I can scarcely read it anymore!  Stop!  Save your Husband's Legacy!
To those who may think that us Obama supporters are being a bit too enthusiastic in our support of our winning candidate and a bit too tough on our opponents then all I can say is what goes around comes around.  It's "Desperate" Hillary's own fault for throwing the kitchen sink at Obama instead of at "Bush Hugger" McCain.

There were quite a few of her supporters trash talking our winning candidate pretty badly so all I can say is "Get Over It"!  Now it's time to take aim at the real enemy of America - "Warmonger" McCain and his group of clueless followers.

Go Obama 08/12!
This is ridiculous. Ah well. Let Hillary Custer run for Little Bighorn until June 3rd. By June 15th, the superdels will put him over the top, and she will just have to snivel in a corner somewhere, because she will have no case (not that she does now)
What is sad is that Clinton thinks she can continue to spend money she hasn't made on a NO WIN situation and will have to bail herself out.  Is that how she'll handle the current economic mess we're in?  Forgive me for thinking the current mortgage crisis was a result of people wanting something they couldn't get under normal circumstances so they over borrowed hoping it'd never hit them in the face.  Isn't what she's doing just as bad, she's spending because she wants somthing she can't earn rightfully.
I have no problem with Hil riding out the last contests.  One condition should be that she tries to unify the rift that was created between the two campaigns.

Patty, what is the point of your relentless chatter that serves no purpose other than to display YOUR bitterness at not getting what YOU wanted.  Thats pretty selfish.  Reminds me a bit of Hil at this point...
Delusional, well at least we think of her that way.

But in her mind she actually thinks she is correct.

That is what happens when you feel you are predestined to a certain fate.
Hillary can and will win.....My vote is with her....we do not need another member of the god old boys club...
She believes this as much as she does the sniper fire and Bill being pure.  I think she has had to lie to herself so much that she convinces herself of a realtity that is not there.  It isn't over until KIKI says so.  Can't wait for the Puerto Rico connection. Pant suits with a sombrero.
If you truly count every vote, FL, MI, and caucus states, Obama is still ahead. Her claims are simply false, unless she completely ignores crucial swing caucus states like Iowa and Nevada...amongst others.

Do the math.
In a way the race is being kept alive by the media. Some days ago there was an item in the WAPO how camera's had to be handled with care to give the impression of a crowd at her rallies. She was shown waving to people on screen, when in reality there were just some reporters who had traveled with her. I have not heard or seen this on television. However when you read the blogs there seems to be so many raving comments by her supporters that you'd say the race was just beginning. Hopefully they do not destroy the DNC in the process
She's just saying what she thinks people want to hear. Once she's in office though, she will follow her own agenda to get things she wants done. Let her stay in the race if she wants. If nothing else it makes for good entertainment.
she can stay in....as long as she continues to be a moot candidate - the only harm she is doing is to the people who continue to financially support her...
Let it keep going supers/DNC. We Dems have a chance of a lifetime in politics. The momentum is amazing. Does HRC have a little black book? She's got something on somebody. This has gone well past the allow her to bow out gracefully stage.
What the h-ll is wrong with Hillary? Is she crazy or something? Didn't she get the memo that she ain't gonna win this thing?

And by the way, it's not the media, pundits, women-haters, etc who are saying this. Numbers did her in. She lost this thing in February!
Anyone calling for MSM to debunk Hillary's analysis of the 08 Democratic Primary ought to stop and listen.  Only HRC supporters and surrogates, republican strategist, columnists and the like are promoting the continuation of this contest.  Meahwhile, MSM is focused on the Bush V Obama drama that was sparked last week.  Superdelegats have continued to flow to Obama despite HRC's calls for a moratorium of endorsments and the campaigns behind the scene are working to organize fundraiser to help pay her campaign debt.  Relax, or in the words of Bill Clinton - Chill Out.

The propaganda from the Clinton campaign is as foolish as you think.  That is why it is being ignored!
OK, Hillary. We get it!

You ARE a tenatious fighter and you don't give up.

As admirable as those traits are in a leader, so is the ability to perceive reality and and make solid decisions that are for the good of your party and country.

It's time to shut down the campaign and work together with your party to reclaim the Presidency.
Even though it's ambarrassing to watch HRC now, she is staying in to force Obama and others to help with her campaign debts. For money she'll support the Dems in November, no money, no support. You don't think for a minute she'll quit and lose 20 million do you? Seems she has her price and it isn't cheap.
Math, an inconvenient truth,

No matter if you count FL and/or MI, HRC still needs between 73% and 75% of all the remaining available delegates.  Possible? yes, Likely? not really.

Thank you Senator Clinton, you have run an amazing campaign, but you've lost BASED ON THE RULES of the Democratic Party. It's time to come around to the candidate with the most delegates, the most states won, and if you count the caucus states by some proportional representation, the most votes won (by millions) as well.

Please Senator Clinton, you are a very smart woman, it's time to acknowledge the truth and unite behind Senator Obama.  I truly believe that you have the makings of a very great Senator, but I just can't see you as a President at this time.

And I'm supposedly in your demographic, a woman over 50 ...
Can we all just do the math? Here's what Real Clear Politics has for delegates now (p=pledged, s=super):

Obama - p 1602 + s 298 = 1900, 126 needed for 2026
Clinton - p 1443 + s 275 = 1718, 308 needed

If we add Michigan and Florida in the best scenario for Senator Clinton, it's MI 73/55 for her and FL 105/67 for her. That gives us:

Obama - p 1724 + s 298 = 2022, 186 needed for 2208
Clinton - p 1621 + s 275 = 1896, 312 needed

Seating Michigan and Florida does not put her even in striking distance on pledged delegates. And this is her highly unlikely best case scenario. More likely is somewhere in between the two above.
