First Thoughts: All about McCain

*** All about McCain: For the first time in quite a while -- and, as it just so happens, the day before the Memorial Day weekend -- the political world today focuses squarely on McCain, whether it's the release of his medical records, the veep possibilities who head to Arizona, or yesterday's denunciation of pastors John Hagee and Rod Parsley. Here’s the drill for the medical records, as the New York Times mentioned yesterday: The campaign is allowing a small pool of reporters (including NBC) access to McCain’s medical records from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm ET in a conference room at the Copper Wind Resort in Phoenix. The reporters are allowed to take notes but not remove or photocopy the records. Then, at 2:00 pm ET, the campaign will host a conference call with McCain’s doctors. Meanwhile, NBC/NJ’s Carrie Dann says the guest list for the couples coming to McCain's Sedona, AZ cabin this weekend include three potential vice presidential picks: Bobby Jindal, Charlie Crist, and Mitt Romney. Also expected to attend, per reports, are former Ebay CEO Meg Whitman (a dark horse veep possibility), Sam Brownback, FedEx chief Fred Smith (a possible veep candidate as well), and Sen. Lindsay Graham. By the way, don't fret Huckabee and Ridge veep fans; they, too, were invited this weekend but couldn't make it. The weekend will include three days of BBQing and likely some outdoor festivities like fishing and hunting. McCain will be joined by his wife and some of his children. Here's what we really want from reporters staking these folks out in Sedona, find some local to discuss which veep candidate has the ideal energy levels to converge with the area's famous vortexes.

*** An early look: The AP got an early look at McCain’s health records. “Three-time melanoma survivor John McCain appears cancer-free, has a strong heart and is in otherwise general good health, according to eight years of medical records.” More: “The details of McCain's health are contained in 1,173 pages of medical documents spanning 2000 to 2008 that his campaign made available to the AP to make the case that he's healthy enough to serve as president, as well as to counter the notion that he's too old. The Arizona senator will turn 72 in August and would be the oldest elected president.”

VIDEO: NBC Political Director Chuck Todd gives his first read on the possibility of an Obama and Clinton "dream ticket" and  McCain's divorce from the Rev. John Hagee.

*** Playing hardball: Speaking of McCain, he’s clearly is not a fan of Obama. Just take yesterday, for example. When Obama gave McCain a little push over Jim Webb's GI bill --  “I can't understand why he would line up behind the President in his opposition to this GI bill” -- McCain fired a political bazooka by issuing this statement: "I take a backseat to no one in my affection, respect and devotion to veterans. And I will not accept from Senator Obama, who did not feel it was his responsibility to serve our country in uniform, any lectures on my regard for those who did." Wow, "responsibility" is a VERY strong word. Then in announcing that he was denouncing Hagee, McCain made sure to remind everyone of Rev. Wright. “Hagee was not and is not my pastor or spiritual advisor, and I did not attend his church for twenty years,” he said in a statement. And then at a rally in Stockton, CA, the Arizona senator said this about Obama: "For a young man with very little experience, he's done very well. So I appreciate -- with his very, very great lack of experience and knowledge of the issues -- he's been very successful." Whoa, this was all yesterday. Has Obama gotten under McCain's skin? McCain has reserved some of his most sarcastic barbs for the Illinois senator. Forget the shots he enjoyed taking at Romney during the primary; that was beanbag. His disdain for Obama is crystal clear every day on the trail. In politics as in sports, the toughest and meanest guy normally wins. But is this a longer-term problem? After all, the image that McCain built from his 2000 presidential bid was the insurgent, happy warrior who was wronged by Bush in South Carolina and not afraid to buck his party. Then again, this could be part of a strategy to get under Obama's skin and get the normally congenial Obama to get into the sandbox and get mean as well. And if McCain can wear away at Obama's likeability, then he may help turn off indie voters from being tempted to support the Dem senator in the fall.

*** Obama courting the Jewish vote: Lost in the craziness of yesterday’s multiple back-and-forths between Obama and McCain was Obama's speech to Jews in South Florida. He faced some tough questions (which the Miami Herald notes might have been influenced by the local ads the Republican Jewish Coalition took out) and he seemed to handle them fairly well. Clearly, the Jewish vote is being seen as more critical than some would have predicted a year ago. Just look at how fast McCain dropped Rev. Hagee, once the pastor was seen as insulting Jews. McCain didn't drop him over the remarks on Catholics, but when it appeared McCain would lose a wedge issue against Obama with a key constituency in Florida, McCain dropped him like a hot latke. Obama's got a LONG way to go with Jews. The conspiracy theories are rampant in the Jewish community as yesterday's front page New York Times story showed. And one speech in front of one Jewish group isn't going to be enough. Can Obama afford to lose a third of the Jewish vote and still win an electoral majority? Some in Florida tell us he can make up the lost Jewish vote but it certainly makes things tough and if enough Jews crossover in Ohio and Pennsylvania and even Nevada, it could make the map that much tougher for Obama.

*** Audition time: But forget BBQs and short lists, the real tests for potential veep candidates are what they do in the public square. Jim Webb yesterday showed off his ability to take on McCain on veterans issues and win, and Joe Biden has an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal defending Obama from McCain's attacks. What should we look for on the GOP side? Romney and Tom Ridge have done a lot of campaigning on McCain's behalf. Will we see real auditions to test some other folks? Also remember: No story exemplifies the "silly season" more than veep speculation -- from "breaking news" speculation on Obama-Clinton to chatter about Bloomberg matching up with, well, everybody. Some of this may eventually turn out to be true, but it's probably not now. And remember, the source list on veep chatter grows exponentially because sources have agendas of their own now, like getting their clients mentioned in the Washington Post in short lists.

*** Hillary as Al Gore? So why is Clinton fighting so hard not only to seat the Florida and Michigan delegations -- but also on her campaign’s terms? Is it all about trying to make sure she becomes Obama’s veep? Or is it a way to extend the nomination fight as long as possible? Or does she see it simply as her only path to securing the Democratic nomination (which can’t be the case, since she needs superdelegates, not Florida and Michigan, to push her past Obama)? TPM’s Josh Marshall offers another opinion: It’s about establishing the argument that the nomination was stolen from her. “What she's doing is not securing her the nomination,” he writes. “Rather, she's gunning up a lot of her supporters to believe that the nomination was stolen from her -- a belief many won't soon abandon.” To put it simply, is she trying to transform into Al Gore, circa 2001-2003? Gore was able to keep a core constituency of folks because of the belief he was wronged. Clinton might want this same constituency to follow her -- no matter who ends up the nominee because it makes her a potentially powerful political player, particularly if she can start delivering her vote for others.

*** Mo’ money, mo’ problems: All the speculation about whether or not Clinton wants to be Obama’s veep -- including Time’s report that Bill is pushing for it -- has ignored this point: Hillary becoming vice president would be a financial hit on the Clintons. Why? Because Bill Clinton would most likely have to give up all of his paid speeches, as well as many of his other business deals. Of course, this would have been the case had Clinton become president, but that sacrifice would have been worth it to Bill. Would the sacrifice be just as worth it on the veep front? With Obama promising an overly ethical and transparent White House, can his vice president’s spouse be giving paid speeches and entering business partnerships with anyone that might have business before the US government? Perhaps the easiest way out for Obama is for Jim Johnson to ask the Clintons to submit to a thorough vetting on the financial front, including seeing the list of the library donors and restricting Bill's ability to make the living he's been making the last eight years. Of course, with the Clintons making $109 million since leaving the White House, they can survive if Bill is giving fewer paid speeches.

*** The delegate count: Clinton yesterday got Guam Party Chair Pilar Lujan. Since Kentucky/Oregon now it's 2-2 in superdelegates, with 208 who remain undeclared. The NBC NEWS Delegate Counts: PLEDGED: Obama 1,647 to 1,502; SUPERDELEGATES: Obama 306.5 to 282.5; EDWARDS PL. DELEGATES: Obama 10 to 0; TOTAL: Obama 1,963.5 to 1,784.5

*** On the trail: Clinton campaigns in South Dakota; McCain is down in Arizona; and Obama remains in Florida, attending a Cuban Independence Day celebration in Miami and holding a rally in Broward County. Also, Bill Clinton stumps in Montana.

I respect John McCain for his service and I'm sure he knows a few things about military relations.  BUT....with all due respect he is clearly confused.  He has confused so many things.  He is not consistent with anything that he agrees or disagrees with.  I have not heard him stay with one final stance.  He can not lead this country.
Sorry OBAMABOTS, Obamas new marching orders for you are not going to work. Your messiah has not the experience nor the plan for this country of ours. McCain has shown to more centralized in his political career than almost all Republicans. He even considered once becoming a Democrat. The gig is up. Obama simply put is not qualified let alone his other issues.

I would also like to add that Obamabots continually try to post that all of the fatal flaws of Obama are okay and that all democrats are good with it. I have yet to find a living person who is aware of all of Obama's issues i.e. Rezko, Wright, Black liberation theology, Moss, Ayers, Hamas, Auchi, Faraquan, Members of MOI working on his campaign staff, Michelle, Sexist comments, bittergate, naftagate, aruglagate, sweetie x 2, Not proud x 2, meetings with Iran, and on and on and still supports the fella. Nice try once again Obama minions. These issues are a huge problem and do matter to the majority of TRUE BLUE DEMOCRATS and TRUE RED WHITE AND BLUE AMERICANS. Did I mention Obama has no experience worth mentioning? Hillary supporter for McCain.  Proud to be an AMERICAIN.
Obama & whoever as VP - OK;
Obama & Hillary - I'm voting McCain.
Anyone else notice that McCain ends up hating every single candidate he runs against.  He hated Bush to the point that he almost left the Republican party.  He hated Romney, according to every article you read in 2008.  And now he hates Obama.  For a Senator who tries not to be a partisan, its a little odd that he ends up hating everyone he runs against.
Mcbomber.execpts and sought the endorcement of "outradgeous" pastors, strictly for political gain with in the christian movement. Then tries to back out when the nutjob pastors turned out to be haters of Islam and the catholic church. What does this say about the judgement of the straight talker? So bomber is having the boys and girls over for the weekend,to his cabin. From what i've seen this is no cabin, its a mansion with seven guest and family you need a lot of bedrooms. So the war hero doesn't belive that our fighting troups deserve the best G.I. bill and a chance to better them selfs by going to college, see if they opt out of the service McBomber won't have anyone to fight his and lil'bushies war,and they will have to enact the draft. What we saw yesterday was the fuss being lit to the bomber, tick, tick, tick,Boom
To my Jewish friends,

If you believe, as Sens. Clinton and McCain do, that it is in Israel's best interest to wait until Iran launches an attack against the Jewish state and then respond militarily, then, by all means, don't vote for Obama.

But if you realize that a pro-active, diplomatic effort may actually prevent such an attack from ever coming, and yet would not preclude military action should the talks fail, then your choice is clear:

Obama 08!

http://genespolitics.blogspot.com
Lets try and guess who the press at MSNBZZZZ wants to be president and will actively root support and spin things for, thats right OBAMMA but that should be obvious the way things went with the hatefilled diatribes that Matthews and SHUSTER(CHEALSEA IS A WHORE remark) Odonnells jealous behavior, catty. Willies constant smirk Mica working for the obamma campaign in the old days he would have to pay for the advertisments but now talking heads control the airwaves for thier masters the Ted turners ,Murdochs and The board at GE makers of war,the war what happened to the war did msnbzzzz forget the democrats promise to end it in 2006? wHAT IS BEHIND THE CURTAIN ,THE WIZARD OF OZ
One reason for Bill Clinton's speech fees got so high (about 50 million in 8 years - an average 60,000 per speech at a quantity of 100 speeches a year which apparently just too many, one speech every three days, which suggests the fee was still higher) is HRS's potential presidency. Go figure.
RR,

I'm a patriotic American and I don't rank the candidates any such way. How dare you presume to speak for me. I will offer my ranking of YOU, though: Dumbass.
Mr. Todd
for you information mr todd three months afte courting Hagee for a YEAR. How again is this fast?
McCain didnt drop Hagee fast- it took THREE MONTHS.
For three months i have heard stories of Hagee's anti catholic, anti women and anti gay and lesbian  AND YES EVEN ANTI SEMITISM

I also heard you this morning and you said Wright and McCain weren't the same thing. That McCain wasnt experienced, that Hagge wasnt fully vetted-with all due respect THAT IS BS>

From articles from the msm press from his books from videos Hagee's hate filled views have been EVERYWHERE.
Face it you, MSNBC <CNN< NYT< ABC< CBS< and certainly Fox couldn't care less about sexist remarks anti catholic remarks, anti gay remarks anti semitism but You REALLY LOVE to hate an angry BLACK MAN.
the bottom line is that you are RACIST. AND SINCE You dont care
about women, gays, jews, catholics or victims of hurricanes or holocausts what else does that sat about you? I never heard ANY OUTRAGE OR ENDLESS PLAYING OF THOSE HATE FILLED REMARKS

On ending McCain WANTED this creep Hagee's politics his hate filled views. That is the only thing I have to agree with you on.  McCain and the Hagee connection is much WORSE than Obama/ Wright because the Hagee connection shows the politics that McCain wants and how he intends to govern and the policies of mcCaIN ARE VERY SCARY
and deplorable
Interesting about the "I was wronged" argument.  I would posit that its a very different situation between Gore and HRC.  It happened to Gore with no warning, he was truly a victim of a truly bizarre and fairly unanticipated set of circumstances.  He also was wronged by the Republicans and a (apparently biased) set of judges on the US Supreme Court.  He was not deliberate in his attempts to quash a fellow Dem. nominee.

In HRCs case, she is being deliberate, she had a role to play in all of this (her agreement not to campaign and not to participate in the FL and Mich races), she is not an innocent actor.  She is directly trying to cast doubt on her fellow Dem. candidate's legitimacy.  She is putting herself before Party.  Al Gore did not do that, it was (I'd argue) far easier to remain his supporter.

The Dem. Party was not at-risk for imploding over it...we had the GOP as our enemy.

Yet, this has a tremendous risk of imploding the party.

Barack Obama may not be your first choice in candidate.  But he is a fine man and he has done nothing to deserve this ire.

Like a poster said yesterday...it is getting embarrassing to be a Dem.  I really feel they should just change the name of the party to Clintonian, that would make things so much clearer.
McCain didn't answer the question because he feels Obama doesn't deserve an answer, having never served in the military.

So in other words, if Webb or Warner had asked, then McCain would answer?

Consider the broader implications of McCain's attitude. Is he saying Kennedy was by definition of his veteran status qualified to be commander in chief, whereas Jefferson, Lincoln and Reagan weren't? Because if you aren't qualified to speak on military matters, how can you be qualified to command the military?

This could signal a dangerous point of view on Sen McCain's part. Our Founding Fathers intentionally established civilian leadership over the military for a reason. It is not part of the American tradition to assume only military veterans have relevant opinions on these matters.

That thinking is more akin to banana republics, and is the kind of rationale used to justify military coups.
mccain is too old to be president. period.

clinton is too awful to be vice-president.
I have no respect for Sen Webb. The way he uses his son as a political prop is disgusting (and i am not the only vet that feels that way.

Cindy Lou in TX Why does Obamas race matter? Why did you have to insert the word "Black" the only ones I see inserting race into this is Obama supporters with your belief that if anyone doesn’t agree with him they have to be raciest. Come on there is plenty to disagree with that has absolutely nothing to do with the mans race.
All I want for Christmas is an American President who is reasonably capable, not terribly neurotic, and who has the energy and inclination to help dig us out of the hole we are in. I'm not interested in helping Hillary with her personal agenda, or refunding McCain for the disrespect his Party heaped on him throughout the years. The truth is, either McCain or Hillary would have been a better choice than W in 2004. But this is 2008, and its Obama's time.
The fact that Hagee isn't McCain's longtime minister actually makes his connection WORSE not better. SInce Wright was the minister at Obama's church, Obama would naturally be inclined to cut him some slack and also interpret his fiery remarks in the larger context of the man's undeniable good works. But McCain has no such context. He sought Hagee's endorsement for purely political reasons, knowing full well that the man is a total kook (the Katrina remarks were well known and widely reported on).
pUT A UNIFORM ON LITTLE MAN IF YOU WANT TO TELL JOHN MACAIN HOW TO TREAT WARRIORS. WHAT obamma fans FORGOT HE WAS TORTURED and now macain wants to hurt them that is assinine,HE served, obamma didnt he didnt even hide in the the national guard like BUSHIE the COWARD how do you fools compare,Obamma fans act just the oppisite of how he talks look at the attacks they generate on A hero like macain hey they did it to KERRY WE CAN DO IT TO MACAIN.I am sure the new politics that obamma speaks of does not include the names MACBOMB MALAME or any other name because whats in a name BARACK HUSSIEN OBAMMA lets make up some names
As usual, people are jumping all over McCain without taking a second glance at what the GI Bill is actually about in terms of taxpayer dollars.  He has offered a counter proposal which is more reasonable, but so Obama can pander for votes he chooses this issue to hit McCain.  Obama is a fool and McCain is going to wipe the floor with him in November.
McCain got a full scholarship to the Naval Academy for agreeing to serve.  I suppose for him this was just a means to an end to become an officer in the Navy, since he was a poor student.  He needs to realize that not everyone has formal Admirals in their family to help their career.  There are many people who enter the military because they have few other choices.  This new GI Bill will make doing three years of service more attractive as well as reward the brave men and women who make it through their current duties in Iraq.  It is really unreasonable to keep asking the same men and women to keep doing tours in Iraq.  The toll on their families must be horrific.

What is hurting retention rates is this pointless and brutal war.  As well as the lack of regard that our government is showing for these men and women's well beings.  So I don't believe that the increased opportunity for an education will hurt retention rates, but may help joining rates.

McCain is upset, because he knows he hasn't been doing enough and is on the wrong side of this issue.  Obama has made fighting for improved treatment of Veterans a top priority in his time in the Senate.

I heard an interesting perspective from a veteran on here the other day.  He implied that some career military personnell don't support increased education benefits, because it attracts people who aren't looking to be or suited to be career military people.  I don't believe the current education benefits are causing this, nor will the increased benefits add to the problem.  The problem is the lack of other opportunities for these people.  And maybe just maybe, some recruits who come for the education will end up staying.  But they should do so because they like being in the military, not because they don't have any other options.
Macain fought Bush harder than KERRY AND EDWARDS EVER DID. And i dont vote so no agenda naggie wright same hate and intolerance just one was hanging for an endorsement and the other was hanging to get elected by the church in chicago niether really believe in god.Look what obamma is doing with 241 million helping the poor or helping himself ask the rev wright.
Also, Campaign Diaries just updated  its Senate rankings, with full descriptions of the top 19 Senate races and big shifts in states like North Carolina and Texas.

OBAMMAWANNABES SHOULD BE ASHAMED THEY SOUND JUST LIKE REPUBLICANS MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY ,from one novice Bush to another OBAMMA,learn on the job .
I respect Obama for his service and I'm sure he knows a few things about community service.  BUT....with all due respect he is clearly confused.  He has confused so many things.  He is not consistent with anything that he agrees or disagrees with.  I have not heard him stay with one final stance.  He can not lead this country. Besides like it or not people get tired of LawyerSpeak.
God save us from having Mccain as president and Hillary as Obama VP. Clinton's are people who don't have decency, morality, dignity. They do everything to get what they want and if they don't they will be happy to destroy Obama. Loyalty to the Democratic Party means absolutely nothing for them; their only interest is themselves. McCain, well, is Mccain -those who consider to what for him simply unwise people who never learn a lesson of the last 8 years. If these people want McCain, they definetely deserve to have him.
Hillary Clinton has proven she is not fit to be President so obviously is not acceptable for the Vice President slot either. She is carrying on her campaign with complete disregard for anything except her ambition to be President. The circus she is creating around Florida and Michigan is shameful.
It's clear to me that Obama needs to pick Jim Webb as VP to counter McCain's military background argument. I also think it is a specious argument - the president is a civilian leadership role. Many of the best presidents had little or no military background.
As a veteran I personally take exception to McCain's war record.

Firstly, prior to being shot down and captured he was awarded medals every Generals or Admirals son would have been awarded in a time of war. I doubt seriously if they were actually earned. Maybe they were but I've seen it happen to other mediocre progeny (Patton's son to name one) so it's not a stretch to believe it happened in his case.

Secondly, he refused an unconditional release by his captures, denying valuable intel to his leaders regarding conditions, his fellow prisoners and quite possibly the location where they were being held. His duty was to escape and I think an unconditional release qualifies.

Get off the hero stuff! He was no Audie Murphy! He served, he got a multi-million dollar plane shot out from under him and he was captured. Not a stellar performance by any measure.
RE: Richard (Sent Friday, May 23, 2008 10:12 AM)

You've been drinking the Sean Hannity Kool-aid, haven't you?  Yea, go ahead, admit it, it's okay, we understand.

Now maybe you should go back to the FOX News blogs where people might take you more seriously.
to all republicans (4) names: GW Bush, cheney, rumsfield, & rove, what military service did they if service? NONE. We never heard McCain question thier military background, Mccain is gutless. Besides, the man was only a pilot, not a soldier.

Richard- you are living in delusional land.  Stop believeing everything you ever read in a blog.  People lie and so do the Clintons.  The "issues" you bring up are for the most part completely ridiculous.  Whereas the Clinton have concrete and proven issues.  But Obama has too much class to bring them up because she is supposedly a fellow Democrat.
hey mcain I am a marine and a fellow vet so answer the f#@king question.

as for the VP for hillary idea it sounds like it is just to much trouble for everybody clinton loses a ton of dough, bill has to abandon the spotlight, obama has to watch has back in the whitehouse, hill brings alot of babbage,

i still think she will take her stolen nomination retoric and run as a independent in nov
Anybody with almost 1,200 pages of medical records in an eight year span has got to have some problems...

My question, as many others on this post have also asked, is still valid:  WHY didn't McCain answer the question as you have answered it above instead of avoiding the answer by launching into an ad hominem attack?  He needs to start acting a bit more presidential if he's going to "wipe the floor" with Obama in November.  He needs to answer questions posed to him and rise above the politics.  Dontcha think?
California Rep. Dennis Cardoza switches from Clinton to Obama
http://thepage.time.com/2008/05/23/fridays-super-battle-2/
Today’s net gain: Obama 2, Clinton -1
OBAMA GETS:
-Cardoza and California Rep. Jim Costa.

As a Michigan voter I feel our voters - and probably Florida's as well - are being used simply as pawns.  No one I know has spoken about the need to have delegates from our state seated based upon the vote of January 15th.  In fact all I have spoken to have expressed their feeling that it would be unfair as many of our voters did not vote - or voted republican in order to make sure their vote count.  The primary election is still being described as "an election that didn't count" throughout media in our state.  Residents in Northern Michigan are talking about $4.19 gallon gas - and lack of jobs.  Sad.  I can honestly say from someone who has followed the democratic nominating process that Senator Clinton is appearing old and faded and without relevance.  It has become too easy to simply change the channel when she speaks.  And I am in her 50's, white, female demographic group.
At this point I would seriously question Mrs. Clinton's ability to actually be President, if some group, say for example, Russia, were to confront us in such a manner that Hillary could be seen as losing major face, will she try to Ego it out, Not stop for any consideration but to win??  Will she invoke the real Nuclear Option if Russia decides to rebuff her and does not back down, will she be so frothing at the mouth that she actually pushes that button??  Sounds too much like what we have in office as president now, someone who puts their own ego's before the good of the Nation, or even, in this case, of the Party.  Hillary Clinton has become a loose cannon and is destroying the unity of the Democratic Party.  We have to remember, this is the Democratic Party, NOT the Clinton's Party:  THEY DO NOT OWN THE DEMOCRATIC BRAND....WE THE PEOPLE DO!  If she is going to so flagrantly break her word and the rules of the DNC then they should remove her from the ticket, NO MATTER WHAT SHE HAS DONE IN THE PAST, HER PRESENT ACTIONS SHOULD DISQUALIFY HER FROM THE RUNNING.  She is totally breaking the rules by invoking Florida and Michigan:  It was well known, in fact she stated herself, that those votes would not count.  Changing the rules now, UNILATERALLY, is called CHEATING and that is the very LAST thing that this Nation needs as another President, Someone who will Not Follow the Laws, Rules and Regulations as set forth by prior legislation or rules making. How many signing statements will she make, saying she wont abide by these laws/rules/regulations as written?? She is making herself look bad and the party look worse for Not Removing her.
Super Delegates, PLEASE DO YOUR JOBS AND STOP THIS TRAVESTY OF HILLARY'S MAKING A JOKE OF OUR PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY.  YOU, OF ALL PEOPLE, KNOW CLEARLY WHAT SHE IS DOING AND IT IS CLEAR THAT THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE IS NOT WITH HILLARY BY ANY AND ALL METERS THAT ACTUALLY COUNT (NOT HER DOCTORED AND TWISTED ILLOGICAL COUNTING THAT DISENFRANCHISES THOSE IN STATES WITH CAUCUSES THAT DONT COUNT VOTERS AND THOSE IN FL AND MI THAT DID NOT VOTE BECAUSE THEY ALREADY KNEW THE VOTE WOULD NOT COUNT) STOP HER BACKSTABBING, CHEATING AND LIEING!! PLEASE PULL HER PLUG NOW BEFORE SHE DESTROYS OUR CHANCES OF WINNING THIS YEAR!!!
The Clintons are Has Beens, we have seen them in action, which is WHY Obama is doing so very well, WE DONT WANT HER!!!
Of course, due to the inflammatory nature of this post it will likely never be seen by the public, Sad when Public Opinion is filtered by Politicos.
Wow, sure are a lot of Dems out there making noise on this thread.  Big Mac is going to mop up in the fall, and you Obamorons are going to be crying for another 4 years.

1)  Obama became a Christian via the Rev Wright, 20 years ago.  What religion was he PRIOR to conversion?

2)  In 2007, Obama had the most liberal voting record in the U.S. Senate.

3)  Obama has a favorite vote - "present", rather than a "nay" or "yeah" on key legislation that might pin him down on an issue.

4)  I gaurantee there will be FAR more explosions going forward regarding this "Wunderkind" of a candidate.

Lastly, why is it that so many of you crazy Dems out there can't spell words properly when posting?
I see the media is trying to put McCain's pastor problems to bed and I have no idea why because even when they have the audio and video of Hagee and Parsley saying some of the most vile and disgusting things most of us have ever heard, they're giving McCain the benefit of the doubt.  Therefore any political post I do for now on will have a siganture of McCain = Hagee, Parsley, Falwell.

Since you guys won't do your job then I'll do it for you!
When we get to see these two side-by-side on the same stage I'm going to have my popcorn ready. Given McCain's temper and his willingness to blurt insults out (calling his wife the "C" word for example) and given his closet racial attitudes (MLK holiday votes) we could have some great fireworks. He obviously lets this young (punk), black (insert insult here), ambitious Senator get under his malignant skin, so he can explode at any time. This race will be over after the first ANGRY OLD MAN moment.
About time for some profiles in courage by so-called superdelegates. Voting is all but over and Obama has won the pledged delegate count, whatever the outcome in the three remaining contests.  The only thing holding together the superdelegate bloc, or flock, is the Clintons' pressure and that of Ickes, McAuliffe, et al.

Evidently the Clintons now want and may actually expect a stampede to be set in motion by intervention of Hillary supporters threatening the Rules Committee late this month, and sustained (to the detriment of the Party and partisan candidates) all the way to Denver in August.

Is there a better time for superdelegates who possess one to heed their consciences?
I am a life-long Democrat but, I am offended that Senator Obama would, in any way, for any reason, try to diminish Senator McCain when it comes to anything to do with the Military.  It is totally insensitive and an insult to ALL Americans, and especially POWs.  I don't think you want to "go there" Senator Obama, especially while you chant "new" politics.
I respect McCain, but I don't understand a word that comes out of his mouth.  He has yet to be consistent with anything that he says.  He cannot runt his country and all the flea bags that follow him are no good to us.  Hillary is working my nerves with this sexism nonsense, disenfranchisment, I do it for you crap!!!!! Enough already!  I think she deserves to work with Obama somewhere, but not VP.  My picks are Webb or Biden.
CAIN is just plain mean and nasty and he will be treating the people in the US just like that.

He es so arrogant and old and elitists.

Bush does not have a military background and CAIN has followed his lead all along.

Hypocrisy is a characteristic of CAIN.

DOGS that BARK do not BITE...BARK, BARK CAIN.
"I take a backseat to no one in my affection, respect and devotion to veterans."--McCain

So, does that mean he thinks Obama should sit in the back seat?  Sounds like that's what he said to me.

Hmmmmmmm.
Kenn - if you're not a voter, why do you care about any of this?  I don't mean to be offensive toward you. I'm just curious.
Sadly for McCain yesterday's response to Obama's comments fed right into what his party fears most about him - his lack of control when it comes to his anger.

Wow - he was not Presidential at all; he came off looking like a punk!  Not a good look!

Obama's dignified response even made him, McCain, look more foolish.

Do we want that finger on any trigger?
