Florida compromise passes

Posted: Saturday, May 31, 2008 6:49 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Mark Murray
A motion that would seat the entire Florida delegation and give them all a half vote just passed unanimously.

That measure would net Clinton 19 pledged delegates (Clinton picks up 52.5, Obama gets 33.5, and Edwards 6.5).

In addition, all Florida superdelegates will be seated, but with half a vote each.

Harold Ickes, Is ICKY....
Blacks used be worth three-fifths of a white person's vote. Now Floridians are worth half the votes of the rest of the country. To Democrats, that's called progress.
Ickes is breathing threats, and intentiionally further inflamming Hillary's raucous supporters.
Harold Ickes and the Clinton Campaign do the unimaginable. They continue take it to the credential committee.

Way to unite the party - not.
So that Consitiution, . . . does it mean anything to Democrats? You know, the part in it that says we're all equal?
I agree with the comment that those disrupting are dishonoring their candidate.  It's a shame!
Will the delegates pledged to John Edwards be 'counted' for Obama?
It sounds like the folks in the gallery are ready to go to blows!

Oh Lord.
FanFreakinTastic!!!

Obama 08!

Fair, so far. Punishment, but all delegates get to participate for the voters and the supers aren't any
'fancier' than the pledged.
Think Sen. Obama will get the Sen. Edwards delegates??
im watching the RBC and clinton supporters are getting mad but they should realize that this is a fair motion

HAROLD ICKES IS A HORSE'S A$$
seems reasonable
Methinks Mr. Ickes is singlehandedly destroying the legacy of the CLinton name with gleeful abandon.
After Ickes got the big smackdown, the board, and many in the gallery were brought to their feet!
My goodness Howard Ickes is so full of it.  He is so concerned about "hijacking" 4 delegates from Clinton yet he feels no representation for Obama would somehow be fair.

Clinton's supporters at this meeting are not representing themselves very well.  When they yell-down a call for party unity they show their true colors and show the level of dignity in which they conduc themselves.

MI 50/50 full?
   Allocated (close), all dels. halves?
If this wasn't so tragic, it would be laughable. I cry for what the great Democratic party has become.
A good compromise for Florida that will help unite the party behind the inevitable winner Barack Obama!

Now let's get the Michigan compromise passed and the deal will be done.  Why are the desperate ones so unwilling to compromise and chant for Denver?

Go Obama 08/12!

How RUDE. Clinton Rabble.
  Did the pinks show up?
And the Obamaites sit like crows on a fence squawking "That's fair! That's fair! That's fair!", all the while tearing the Democrats apart.
Sometimes I think that maybe I, a liberal, should quit the charade and join the Democratic party, and then there are days like this.
I'm convinced there are Republicans that are protesting here just to make the Dems look bad.  Hillary's supporters are acting dispicably.
Chuck - please the numbers ....cant wait ...hope 1st read has not taken off ...
Great! Now let's move on to the stuff that counts: Obama vs McCain.  I contributed early on to HRC's coffers but have been totally disappointed with her and her apparent unwillingness to let us move on to the general election.  Barack Obama -- please excuse my mistake from way back when.
Ickes is an idiot. As was said by one of the committee members Ickes was using political posturing. The delegates will seat and be in the convention. It is wrong to not recognize his vote to strip the delegates and now is reversing his vote and saying that Obama receive no votes in MI. Ickes point is highjacking the election in assuming the uncommitted delegates should not count and only Hillary votes. This is disenfranchsing the uncommitted voters. Second, it is polticial suicide for Clinton to go to the credential committee after she has said that she will respect the decision of the MI and FL state democrats and the rules committee. If she does not follow through with her word, it shows that she is in the election for herself and not the voters as well as having a fair process.
Well, at least a solution for Florida, finally.  Still think Obama was robbed.  Nice move by BO for resigning today, while the attention is on Fl and Mi.
A committee held rules to be more important than people.

We deserve to lose.

Welcome to the White House, Mr. McCain

GO OBAMA
