McCain: Where he's advertising

Posted: Monday, June 02, 2008 9:11 AM by Domenico Montanaro

The Wall Street Journal takes a look at the TV ads McCain has spent $1.5million on in the last few months. “John McCain's new TV-ad campaign says a lot about how he sees the general-election battle ahead. The message is economics and the state that has seen the most spending on ads so far is Ohio. Sen. McCain, the Republican candidate for president, is also on the air in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Iowa and West Virginia, all battleground states in recent campaigns. Of those states, President Bush in 2004 carried Ohio, Iowa and West Virginia, and lost Michigan and Pennsylvania.”

In his remarks to AIPAC this morning, McCain will also say this: “The people of Israel reserve a special respect for courage, because so much courage has been required of them.  In the record of history, sheer survival in the face of Israel’s many trials would have been impressive enough.  But Israel has achieved much more than that these past sixty years.  Israel has endured, and thrived, and her people have built a nation that is an inspiration to free nations everywhere.”

“Yet no matter how successful the nation of Israel, or how far removed from the Holocaust, there are experiences that will never pass from memory.  Not long ago I was in Jerusalem with Senator Lieberman and our colleague Lindsey Graham, and we went to the Holocaust memorial, Yad Vashem.  And for all the boundless examples of cruelty and inhumanity to be found there, for all the pain and grief remembered there, somehow I was especially moved by the story of the camp survivors who died from the very nourishment given to them by their liberators.  They had starved and suffered so much that their bodies were too weak even for food.  They endured it all, only to die at the moment of their deliverance.”

“These are the kind of experiences that the Jewish people carry in memory -- and they are far from the worst experiences of the Holocaust.  These are the kind of griefs and afflictions from which the State of Israel offered escape.  And today, when we join in saying “never again,” that is not a wish, a request, or a plea to the enemies of Israel.  It is a promise that the United States and Israel will honor, against any enemy who cares to test us.”

hummm... McClain will definitely come after Obama on the topics of the war and Obama lack of military experience.

I wouldn't be surprised if some big unexpected event was to happen to bring Obama's lack of Military experience to the forefront!!!

However, Obama is the right man for the job!!  Obama in 2008!!

Republicans are really desparate these days, they seem to constantly harken back to WWII, as if they personally were responsible for the allies' victory. Someone should point out to them Roosevelt and Truman were Democrats.
And today, when we join in saying “never again,” that is not a wish, a request, or a plea to the enemies of Israel.  It is a promise that the United States and Israel will honor, against any enemy who cares to test us."

That's right John.

Now, how about the women, and children you fire bombed in South East Asia?

Hypocrit!!!
Yup, he's going after those Reagan Dems who vote against their economic interest year after year after year then wonder why they can't get ahead.  What a shocker.

Barack will turn out the vote, all sorts of vote!  And call out McCain on his lack of leadership on the domestic front.

Will the voters listen?

One of the many white middle/older women for OBAMA (yes, we are here, not making a ruckus but we are here)

We'll always remember way more than that too..
but honoring just their griefs and afflictions seems weird..
Remember the Reagan Dems. that Cling to thier Guns & Religion. This is why this country will not progress in the next 10 years, because these Conservatie Dems. or lets call them racist, will prefer to vote for McCain than for Obama, because of the color of the skin.
Hey Donna how do you know McCain fire bombed women and children?

Do you have proof or are you just spouting off?

These statements just feed into the attitude that the left is anti American.

You do a dis-service to all the service men who were involved in that conflict by perpetuation the Idea that they would target innocent's.

bush/cheney/mccant now there is a living nightmare.
Senator McCain do you know who the enemies are?
I am a proud Obamacan. I hope other Republicans will join the Obama team. He is clearly the best choice to lead this great country.
If McCain really means "never again" and is truly referring to the cruelty of humans to one another, then the question is what has he done in the Senate to fight for those in Darfur and other places where people are cruel to another group because it is different?

I can guess several reasons why McCain has said this.  One is that he is trying make Obama weak on the defense of Israel because of his connections with people who have critized Israel.  A second is that many in the religious right have a belief that they should do everything they can to protect Israel and encourage Jews to go and live there to bring about the second coming; it is his way of trying to get back in their good graces given his comments in 2000 and the recent need to distance himself from some of their larger and well known leaders.
Do we really want a crybaby as president? McCain doesn't want us to forget his war record and Clinton wants to 'go after Obama super delegates'. Why not listen to the American people and change the politics?? Get with the program and protect this great nation! OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA!!!
People can speculate as to what so called - Reagan democrats - conservative democrats - liberals- conservative republicans - neo-repugs- I mean we have some many different names to categorize and label people.  Then, we have the pundits - naysayer’s and everybody trying to be experts on expressing what a particular group will do and not do...It's amazing that we tend to forget the most important name - group - label, etc and that is Americans. IN which we all are - the fact is no matter what group someone tries to label us - we as Americans are tired of being taking advantage of - lied too- high gas prices - food prices - war - depict - losing how liberties – education for our children  - healthcare - sky rocketing prices due to monopolizing markets -allowed by this current administration.  The past 8 years of governing by this George Bush's has ruined the average American life....and/or degraded to gigantic portions - so trying to continue to label people or groups to the same as they were pre - George Bush is totally ridiculous and only allows for the ignorant few to cling on to something that is of no distinction.  We Americans (all) will vote for the person that will make life better in all aspect of it. Not just certain portion of it...and we all know that the GOP will not do that.  So - let's be Americans and stop the labeling non-sense and vote for a President that represents us all.

Thank you and GOD BLESS AMERICA
