Obama gains 59.5 supers on the day

Posted: Wednesday, June 04, 2008 12:14 AM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
In what was the greatest single-day superdelegate gain in this campaign for either candidate, Obama -- now the Democratic presumptive nominee -- gained 59.5 superdelegates today.

This morning, Obama had 333 superdelegates. He now has 392.5.

*** UPDATE *** It's also worth pointing out Clinton LOST a net of 3 superdelegates. She started the day at 295 superdelegates and ends the day with 292.

NBC NEWS has allocated nearly all of the delegates from Montana and South Dakota. With one delegate left to be allocated, Clinton has won a 16-14 split out of the two states (SD: Clinton 9-6; MT: Obama 8-7 with one left there.)

The NBC NEWS Delegate Counts:
PLEDGED: 1743 to 1641
SUPERS: Obama 392.5 to 292
EDWARDS PL.: Obama 21 to 0
OVERALL: Obama 2,156.5 to 1,933

* The number needed was 2,118.

Wow!

He needed forty, (39.5), and I was sweating it.

But he garnered 50% more than his target figure!

EXHALE!!
Thank You Dear G-D. Thank you.

On to the GE.
Congratulations, Barack and Michelle!  Now on to the general election.  God Bless America!

Thanks the Lord,Sweet Jesus for answered Prayer.
Obama WON and will win in NOVEMBER..
THE LORD IS TO BE PRAISED!!!
I am very proud of our country now.

There are always doubters, including this 'former' competitor of Obama. Only positive thinking will help us get whereever we want to reach.

Let us unite whom we can and work towards the GE!

In the History of the US,I have never seen such excitement over a political candidate.Tonights speech was over the top ,nothing like it before.A few years from today,Obama will be taught in schools across not just in America, but across the world.
YEA!!!! GO OBAMA!!!
Senator Obama earned every vote and delegate!  It was a fair and square win for Presidential nominee, Barak Obama.  Senator Hilary Clinton's behavior exemplifies sour grapes and hubris was despicable.  Please, please, please follow the rules.  The popular vote does not count, if DNC rules are violated, majority vote will dictate the punishment for same and delegates are the defining determination of the nomination.

Sexism has been used as a veiled sword as pundits report that Senator Clinton wants to be offered the VP position, will not accept it yet does not want Presidential Nominee Obama to offer the position to another women.  Tell me again how she is an authentic champion of women's rights?  The Clintonian politics must end-"I did not have sex with that woman, depends on what the definition of "is" is is was a well played smoke and mirrors game that duped many Americans".

It is over Senator Clinton and Senator Obama owes you NOTHING, but you owe him and the American people the party unity.  It is not by running for VP to set the stage for your delusional future presidency, but your job now is to convince your people to take off the blinders and look at the best person to run against McCain (of course McCain is running scared and still encouraging Senator McCain as Senator Clinton would have been an weak opponent, one with lots of easy targets, for him).

If Senator Clinton supporters want to vote for Roe v. Wade, turning back the Civil Rights clocks, mortgage foreclosures, exorbitant gas prices and a dumb war, then they will what they deserve if they do not get on board for positive change.

Obama 08,12
Congratulations Mr Obama. We are proud of you, in you i see change and stability for America

God Bless you
It time for U.S.A to opening their eyes  and realize it time for a change
Senator Obama is class personified. He gave an historic and gracious speech tonight. He deserves our respect and congratulations for running a forthright and highly organized campaign and for winning the nomination. Whatever their opinion of him, supporters of Senator Clinton and Senator McCain should not begrudge him that.
Who would have believed that Barack Obama would come from behind and defeat the Clinton machine and win the nomination. That is change in itself. Congrats Obama!!!! Don't worry about offering her the VP position. She is neither gracious nor trustworthy. It is now time to face Mcbush. We must take over the white house in November.
Congrats Barack and Michelle....We are very proud of you in OHIO!!!!
Get some rest, enjoy and then
on the general election and the win in November!!!!

Go Obama!!!!
The Primary is over with. The silliness is over with. Now it matters. Now it's important.

Who will you vote for America...Obama or McSame? There is no third choice, so make your voice heard.
Time to donate.
Now McBushis in the line to beat.
Yes, we can
Obama should please leave Hillary alone.

REPUBLICANS, (the one's who have been screaming the loudest), IN THE HILLARY CAMPAIGN AND DISQUISING THEMSELVES AS DEMOCRATS MAY NOW LEAVE THE ROOM.
Hillary and Bill appears to be playing with herself, and I think they're enjoying it better than the excersize of working to bring this party together.  I don't know who her advicers are, but soon, the graciousness the American people is going to wear out thier welcome.  Her campaign is in debt, but the real problem is, she and Bill are going to have to apply for political bankrupting because they're spending all their political capital.  The handwriting is on the wall.
Hillary Clinton disappointed me further tonight.  I feel certain that she is disappointed, but that is no excuse for her standing up on that stage and failing to concede that Obama had indeed won the Democratic nomination.  She is supposed to be a professional.  Her behavior tonight was entirely unprofessional.  The longer she maintains what can only be characterized as a sore loser demeanor the more irrelevant she becomes.  It is hard to accept that she has the Party's interest at heart when she behaves in such a manner.  In fact, she comes off as being mean-spirited and under-handed.
No petition should be circulated to try to force Obama to pick her as his VP.  It has never been done before and people will view this as her belief that she can force the first African American Presidential nominee to have to operate under different rules (her rules).   This will doom her legacy forever and will force Obama to reject her as his VP.
The Obama Supporters Is What Humanity Is All About! When I look at all the beautiful people, all races, ages, and ethnicities, it brings tears to my eyes! God Bless You Obama And Your Beautiful Family! It's Time For The Democrats To Heal And Move Forward!  Positive Change Ruled Tonight!  What an amazing night!
I'm such an idiot.  Previously, I said Pat Buchanan and Joe Scarbrough are so obnoxious.  I forgot to say Pat Buchanan, Joe Scarbrough AND Tucker Carlson are so obnoxious!   Those three are why God invented TiVo so you can fast forward past when you see their mouths moving.  I had to change the channel to music and went to go to sleep for a while when the Late Coverage was on.  (Dan was buzzed on something, but he's just silly.)
She lost nine, not three, nine.  See this site:

Thanks Domenico, you guys did, and have always done, a great job.

Have some rest. Good night!
