Iraq politics: Worth the wait?

The New York Times front-pages, “A long-delayed Senate committee report endorsed by Democrats and some Republicans concluded that President Bush and his aides built the public case for war against Iraq by exaggerating available intelligence and by ignoring disagreements among spy agencies about Iraq’s weapons programs and Saddam Hussein’s links to Al Qaeda. The report was released Thursday after years of partisan squabbling, and it represented the close of five years of investigations by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence into the use, abuse and faulty assessments of intelligence leading to the invasion of Iraq in March 2003.

More: “The 170-page report accuses Mr. Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and other top officials of repeatedly overstating the Iraqi threat in the emotional aftermath of the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Its findings were endorsed by all eight committee Democrats and two Republicans, Senators Olympia J. Snowe of Maine and Chuck Hagel of Nebraska.”

SOME OF US THAT WEREN'T "SHEEPEOPLE" KNEW THIS ALL ALONG!

THE PRESS SHOULD HAVE BEEN SMARTER THAN THIS!

SO MANY LIVES WERE LOST BECAUSE OF LIES!

AMERICA HAS TO BE SMARTER THAN THIS NEXT TIME AROUND!

OBAMA 08
Let's hope we've all become critical thinkers after this fiasco.  When McBush makes his sarcastic digs at Obama we should all ask ourselves why he can't just carry on an intelligent, respectful conversation about the issues.  We can't afford to fall for these tactics again.
The committee also reported the following findings:

- The Sky Appears To Be Blue

- Jumping In A River Makes You Wet

- The Sun Came Up This Morning

- The Earth Is Round

- Pigs Can't Fly

...so when does the impeachment begin?
"...so when does the impeachment begin?
Pete - Albany, NY (Sent Friday, June 06, 2008 9:22 AM)"

When Congress gets a pair - which won't happen for quite some time, I'm afraid.  It won't be before Bush is out of office.  They are already backtracking on the global warming bill - they can't stand up to Bush on anything.

I hope that changes next year, but I'm afraid it won't.
POTUS, VPOTUS, Rummy and the rest of their rat-pack neo-cons should be made to patrol in Iraq with the inferior safety gear they issued to our GIs.
So we are surprised why?

And who wants McBush why?
A bipartisan report, that exposes our contraband Prez, and his likewise veep, as lying murderers!

War crimes roll call, trials, commence!

What would happen to me or to you if we had caused the death of 4100 Americans, thousands of Iraqis, caused probably millions of injuries, billions of dollars, and don't forget, we hanged a leader and it was all on a lie? These people, all of them, need to be brought up on charges!!!!
Pete:

Thanks for a good chuckle this morning.  As far as impeachment goes, there just aren't enough statespeople in Congress for that to happen.

If ever there were two people who should be impeached, it is certainly Bush and Cheney.

They will forever have the blood of our soldiers on their hands.
Just confirmation of what many of us knew years ago, that "Warmonger" Bush started a war with Iraq for political advantage.  We knew that the repugnant ones in the White House were lying to us but people didn't want to hear the reality.  Now we have proof that we were lied to repeatedly to start a war that never should have been fought.

We should have been in Afghanistan making sure we secured that country before going off on foolish wars for oil that have distracted us from hunting down and killing Osama and his top leaders.  Now Pakistan is falling apart because some morons got us distracted in Iraq.

Go Obama 08/12!
I was against this conflict almost from the start for one very different reason -- our military would be too far streched.  Iraq and their leadership was contained for the time-being.  Why should we mess with it?  Inspectors were doing their jobs, and we should have waited until they were done.

Now look at what is going on; several thousand troops dead and tens of thousands injured mentally and physically.  Iran has risen in power in the region.  I am still waiting for the Iraqis to pay us back for all the money we shelled out up front for this disaster of foreign policy.  Who can realistically believe that democracy can be imposed?  Apparently Bush can; what a lie!
I voted Democrat for the first time in my life so congress will put the Bush regime to justice, but congress won't stand up to Bush. Shame on you Pelosi.
Everyone knew this and so did the Republicans; they were a part of the deception.  It was all about controlling the oil and the market.  Designed by Bush/Cheney/Rove and the neo-cons...that's why they want to continue with McCain.  They know this mess and their thievery of the American people will catch up when the Democrats take over the .senate, congress and Presidency.

Not only do we need to fix the mess and set -laws, guidelines and rules to stop this fascist style of government we need to bring these criminals to justices - to redeem the 10 of thousands of lives affected in the worst way because of the GOP.

They will not take credit for the mess they cause, they will continue to blame, blame, blame...and people like Cheney won't even care.  Remember the comment he made a few months ago.  When asked how he felt about what the American people think about this war - his answer was something like - SO.  Remember when they asked about the sacrifice the Soldiers made because of a war that maybe shouldn't have been waged - all he said was - They volunteered.  These people don't care about U.S. they just want the money they can steal from U.S. they will lie, steal, cheat, kill, use anything so they can control the market and fill their pockets.

We can't let them get away with this...we just can't

Thank you and GOD BLESS AMERICA
Four more years, vote McSame!!!!
Impreachment!  They impreached Clinton for lieing about not having sex with Monica.  Impeachment is to good for them. Bush and Cheney should be charged with crimes against humanity........they should be hung just like they hung Saddam.
It's a pretty sad state of affairs when the President of the United States lies, but what's worse is the enablers: The  print Media, the loud mouth right wingers and the cowards in the administration that sat on their hands, protecting their government pensions while our country was being deceived, raped and plundered! Shame on you! All of you, you know who you are!!!
If congress can't impeach Bush/Cheney then we the American people can.  Anyong who votes for McCain is a party to warcrimes and is as guilty as they are of murder.

The crininal republican warparty.   "Send us more of your sons and daughters to slaughter so we can make more money off of them."  Does anyone not understand that?
George Bush Has the Brain of a very small mouse.  Don't blame Bush, blame his administration and the Secret War Monger DICK Cheney.   Aslo - Watch Lil' Bush on C Central.  it puts everything into persepective.
BUSH LIED! WAR FOR OIL! etc....
Enough already, while there have been mis-handlings with the war in Iraq, you seem to forget that the fact is, the call for regime change and the threat of Saddam was started by the Clintons (do the research).
2. If the war was about oil, why is the price so high?  We're there, wouldn't we have just siezed control of the Iraqi oil productions? (that didn't happen)
3. The intellegence reports that were used for making the case to go to war were the same ones used by the previous administration (aka: Clinton) to call for the same actions. (by Clintons CIA Director)
4. Lastly, I'm not sure that I would put too much faith in a report from a group that has a lower approval rating than President Bush.
