McCain to open up fundraisers to press

Posted: Saturday, June 07, 2008 9:30 AM by Chuck Todd

From NBC's Kelly O'Donnell
NBC News has learned that McCain advisors expect to have a new policy on fundraiser coverage as early as next week.

The campaign expects to include a print pool with no still or video coverage inside fundraisers where McCain appears and makes remarks.

While asserting it has been the most transparent and accessible campaign, McCain said at a news availability May 28th in Beverly Hills that he would not open fundraisers for press coverage because those donors who host and attend have requested the events remain closed. McCain also declared that he does not say anything different among donors in private than he says at public events. At that same May 28th availability, McCain then made a reference to Obama's controversial fundraiser comment about Pennsylvania voters clinging to guns and faith out of bitterness. McCain asserted that he would not make that kind of comment to his donors.

Like the release of medical records and Mrs. McCain's tax return summary, this is an effort to neutralize issues democrats could use against McCain.

He knows that someone eriting about his hugging Bush can't be used by Dems as well as a picture of the two Friends In Facism hugging. Nice manipulation of the press, Herr Goebbels! Give the illusion of transparency while still keeping the press at bay.
I too, believe that McCain will "follow the REAL leader" Barack Obama.  If I were Barack, I would not accept the town hall meetings/debates from McCain.  I think that he wants those meetings because he knows that Obama draws huge crowds.  McCain can then "parrot" everything that Obama says, and he will steal his ideas and wrap in into Republican "speak".

Don't do it!
