Obama, Clinton to campaign together

Posted: Friday, June 20, 2008 9:47 AM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
Once fierce rivals for their party's nomination, Obama and Clinton will make their most public display of unity to date next Friday.

The two Democrats will campaign together then, the Obama campaign announced. No word yet as to where they will do it or how.

The e-mail release simply stated, "Further details to be announced soon."

*** UPDATE *** In a conference call today, the Obama camp said, it is "still hammering out some of the logistical details, and when we have those we’ll let you know."

Ebony and Ivory, work together in perfect harmony!
FIRED UP and READY TO GO.

Now the General Election begins.
Hopefully those pundits on MSNBC will stop their obssession over HRC and focus on Obama.
Is she still in the option for the VP spot.  I like Obama / Gore or Obama / Edwards!!

"Why would anyone want to be on a losing ticket??  Hillary supporters who now support McCain will push McCain over the tip.  All of Obama's millions and all the MSM talking heads and the DNC and all the kings horses and kings men can't put Barack in the white house.
dk in tn (Sent Thursday, June 19, 2008 6:32 PM)"

How the flip can you say you are now for McCain when you were a Clinton supporter?  Revenge means that much to you that you would entrust this country's future to McCain and four more years of NeoCon rule?

And "kenn"...dude...if you type everything is runon sentences, how do you expect people to understand you?  Oh, and invest in a spell check program while you are at it.
The big debt has humbled Hillary a bit. She will work for Barack and we will never know how that debt will be paid off, but it will get paid off. Good to see them on the same page, even though Barack will turn the page to a new way of doing business.

Now the General Election begins.
Hopefully those pundits on MSNBC will stop their obssession over HRC and focus on Obama.
on above:
Excuse me, Steve, I think you must have misspoke re: the network.  There's no network that was/is more blatantly, openly for Obama than MSNBC.  I consider MSNBC the worst of all since some haven't gone as far as C. Matthews to get that "thrill up his leg."
That's good news, and I'm glad that Hillary is keeping her word. But I'm kind of curious as to why Bill hasn't come out yet in support of Obama. He's probably still pouting.
This will be interesting, although, once again, the story line will be all about Hillary. They need to keep the focus on and concentrate on Obama. He's the nominee, not Clinton. How will she retract all the negatives she said about him during the Primary?
Good luck Senators Obama and Clinton -- go paint that map blue.

It's time to come together for our country.  Bush/Cheney have created a fascist state with corporations running our government.  The Republican Congress has "borrowed and spent" us into an irresponsibly huge deficit, with the paper being held by the Chinese and some oil rich states in the Middle East, and McCain is willing to borrow even more.

It's time to join together to work towards electing a Democratic President with a workable Democratic majority in both the House and the Senate.

This time do something smart and vote for your wallet, vote for the economy, vote for the environment, vote for jobs, vote for America!

Vote for the smartest candidate in the race, a real leader (and no that's not McCain, who graduated at the very bottom of his class -- not by a long shot)

Vote Democratic 2008 -- don't let the corporations and their Republican stooges win again.

Big mistake. Hillary Clinton is a voter repellant.
This will be interesting to watch.  I remember seeing McCain stump for Bush/Cheney back in 2000.  He seemed really changed when put up on the stage to introduce someone else -- it was in Plymouth, MI and he was introducing Cheney...

I wonder how Sen. Clinton will appear and what the reaction of her supporters will be.  She said she would work tirelessly for the nominee... we shall see.

The MILLIONS of Hillary supporters WILL unite - we WILL all come together - AGAINST obama and the DNC.
We are organized, united and together with the MILLIONS of GOP's we will make sure obama NEVER wins this election - this guy is NOT qualified.
Obama is a FRAUD - typical Chicago dirty political tricks.
We WILL vote for our country - NOT party.
Let's do this - The two powerhouses of the Democratic Party coming together.

Oh it's over for the GOP and we Dems are loving every moment.  :)

Thank you and GOD BLESS AMERICA
I wonder if MSNBC will continue to bash Hillary now that she's teamed with Obama --
Obama doesn't deserve to be on the same stage w/Hillary.
She's an experienced, intelligent HONEST, and classy federal legislator who puts the needs of constituents first.
On the other hand, he's a wet-behind-the-ears, terrorist supporting, political racketeer and a LYING SCUMBAG.
I've been a member of The Democratic Party since 1976.
But, there's NO WAY I will ever vote for Barack Obama.

DEMOCRATS FOR McCAIN
VETERANS AGAINST OBAMA
911 VICTIMS FOR A STRONGER & SAFER AMERICA
My suggestion is do some, but limit it to a few appearances pre-convention. Clinton shores up some Democratic support, but she won't do much for Obama beyond that. Independents already know she endorsed him, so don't give up any more unneccesary ammunition to the other side.
This is great news - let the healing begin!
Paul, I alwasy did like that song.

Look, her fate as a future leader is tied closely to how well Obama does (read:wins in November).
If he does, she's set up for
1) future run at nomination with his full support
2) Supreme Court justice (by the way, this is important because the next President will likely pick at least one, maybe two and possibly even three justices)
3)Sec'y of State
4)Sec'y of Health

I think in the order listed would be my own personal preference.  And I would humbly submit that Senator Clinton would probably rank them in that order as well.

No doubt, he needs her, and with her full support, he most likely keeps the bounce he currently ernjoys and perhaps even expands on it.  So great move on both their parts.

And, if he decides she's the one to run with him, while I was turned off at her increasingly bad tactics, I know what it's like to want to win so bad.  So, we all do things in the heat of battle to win.  So, if Senator Obama decides she is the one, I'm all for it.
It's going to be great for party unity to see both Barack and Hillary campaigning together next Friday.  Going to be a great day for Democrats and a bad day for the repugnant ones.

I'm just getting the best laugh watching the conservative lunatic fringe turning into a bunch of crybabies over Obama opting out of public financing.  They ought to be lauding Obama for not wasting $84.1 million taxpayer dollars.  They should be attacking "Beggar Boy" McCain for wasting $84.1 million taxpayer dollars on his losing campaign.

I get even more of a laugh out of the conservative crybabies crying about Obama breaking an agreement to opt into public financing.  He answered a questionaire question and that is not a legally binding agreement.  He answered a questionaire that the grumpy ancient geezer was too chicken to answer.  Get over it repugnant ones!  Go cry in your elitist wine!

Go Obama 08/12!
obama is a FRAUD - we will never unite with him - or the DNC.
Sorry Hillary - McCain is our 2nd BEST choice.
Obama:
"Let's use Hillary, too, to get more money.  Then, throw her under the bus with grandma, the other typical white people and the women in the hijabs."
Better give some spending money to Hillary, she may need it LOL.....
HRC will be a topic until the inauguration in January 2009.. That is just a fact.. She is smart so she will use this limelight to ensure the issues that are near and dear to her don't get overlooked.  I honestly think it is a smart move on her part..
just wish they would all take a vacation for the month of July
Obama seems to be well without Clinton, but with her they will blow the Repubs out of the water.

Good work to Dan Abrams reporting on "When John McCain first started to love America".  Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh spin this.

Sam Nunn VP!!!!!
Well, I understand why he will do this.  I regret that it will encourage VP speculation but I imagine it is a step for unifying the party.  I don't think it will help him to have her campaigning for him too much.  He must remember that many of the voters that voted for him may not care for Senator Clinton at all.  Being one of them... I was glad to hear of the hiring of Clinton's ex-campaign chair and that it might be a signal that he would not choose Hillary for a VP.  He will lose my vote if he chooses her... but I'm not voting for McCain no matter what.  I just can't use my vote to give ANY power to the Clintons. I have no respect left for them other than the respect I feel for fellow human beings.  As leaders they get no respect from me.  I am thoroughly disappointed in them.
I have heard that John Edwards is still a possible VP choice and I am encouraged.  I think that he and Senator Obama would make the BEST leadership team for our country.  I feel that they would govern well together.  I feel the most secure that if anything were to happen to Senator Obama that John Edwards would be the most able to continue governing in a way that would be consistent in fighting for change.  I hope that he will accept if Senator Obama chooses him.

All I have to say to you if you vote McCain, in my own words...

your post is very similary to molly's, meaning, you and molly are the same person, which means, probably all the posts of so called hillary supporters saying they will vote mccain, are the same person, meaning, you are crazy!
Good for both of them, it's time to bring the party together in order to win in November. We have to
take back the white house,in order to bring back
peace & prosperty & dignity to our go old USA.
Just noticed this:

The only people who seem the least bit excited about McCain's campaign are the ex-Hillary supporters.

Notice how their enthusiasm manifests itself.  Nasty, vitriolic, profane rants against Obama and naive praise for HRC (who lost the primary).

It appears that McCain's base consists solely of ex-HRC supporters!  How a&&-backwards is that???

Obama in 08 by a landslide
In the words of the great James Earl Jones..."watch your back, Jack."

This republican will also be voting for his country and not his party...that's why I am voting for Obama.  For those of you fed up with the Republican party, please remember that these people do not actually espouse conservative ideals...if they did, we would NEVER have gone into Iraq in the first place!!!
Obama is bound to campaign with most Democratic big wings.  She is one of them.  This could help her retire some of her debt.  It also gives the appearance (if not in fact as well) that they have made up and are moving on to win.
To Lifelong Democrat Who's Voting Republican Specifically Because of Obama

I wouldn't be too concerned about (LIFELONG DEMOCRAT WHO'S VOTING REPUBLICAN SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE OF OBAMA)....we all can recognize a repuke troll when we see one.......lol.

Obama '08
Alot of republicans and ex Clinton supporters in this site! Obama is the only answer to America's problems, and McCain is worse than Bush.
It is interesting that Hillary's camp stated yesterday that she would return from vacation with an agenda that spoke to "Sexism" in the media coverage during this campaign. My initial reaction was "Oh, please give it a break." But then it began to occur to me the brilliant strategy of this plan. She will emerge still complaining about Sexism and how women are being wrongly condemned under public scrutiny and many of her supporters will immediately gravitate to this position. How does this benefit the democrats? Well, one only need to look at the terrible way Michelle Obama has been portrayed as "an angry black woman" as opposed to a "strong, independent and well educated woman" who is also black and who is also a loving mother and who also has a right to her opinion about social injustices or whatever issue she discusses WITHOUT being typecast as unpatriotic. Look at FOX News coverage of this woman. I think Hillary is perfectly situated to make this argument and her supporters will agree and hopefully rally around Michelle and Barack Obama... That's what I think. What say you?
You see the republican bloggers are pretending to be a Hillary supporter, and saying negative things about Barack Obama and at the same time slamming Hillary.

Come on if you are going to play this game ...it least say you used to be a Democrat and leave Hillary's name out of it.

The GOP's are so stupid

Thank you and GOD BLESS AMERICA

S-O-R-E-  L-O-S-E-R!!!
If Clinton travels with Obama, he might want to invest in hiring a food taster before he partakes in any of his meals.
I see that the Republican trolls masquerading as Hillary supporters are out in full force today.

No self respecting woman or Democrat could ever vote for Senator McCain, he stands against everything we are for.

Vote Democratic 2008 -- don't let the corporations and their Republican stooges win again.
Fantastic!

OBAMA 08
What happen, I thought you want Hillary to "just go away".  Just like I said, without Hillary, you lose.
