First thoughts: The new arms race

*** The New Arms Race: As we've mentioned before, one of the more underappreciated ways that Obama defeated Clinton in the Democratic primaries is that he forced her to compete in a political arms race that she couldn't win. Think about it: Clinton raised more than $200 million, and she now finds herself $22.5 million in debt. It was Obama playing Reagan to Clinton's role as Gorbachev. Now that Obama has decided to opt out of the public financing system -- enabling him to perhaps raise $300 million between now and Election Day -- could history repeat itself? Over the weekend, via the New York Times, we learned that he’s dispatching paid staffers to all states and that he might run national TV ads tied to the Olympics, as well as targeted ones on MTV and BET. For the first time in quite a while, Republicans are going to be outspent significantly in a presidential election. Can they prove they can win when being outspent? (Have they ever done it before?) McCain having $84 million to spend between the GOP convention and November -- less than 60 days -- is a lot of money. Then again, Clinton's $200 million-plus was a lot of money, too.

VIDEO: Critics are crying foul over what they say is a suspiciously "presidential" looking logo at a recent Obama campaign event. Pundits Pat Buchanan and Peter Fenn discuss the controversy.

*** Obama’s Mixed Week: For someone who's poised to raise a considerable amount of money -- and who also is ahead 15 points nationally in a new Newsweek poll (thanks to a large party advantage), as well as in Florida, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, according to Quinnipiac surveys -- Obama's week wasn't his best. His decision to opt out of the public financing system was criticized by Republicans, liberal and conservative columnists, editorial boards, and good-government groups. (Sticking with the Cold War metaphor above, didn't Reagan's own arms build-up generate a fair amount of criticism?) He raised just $22 million in May, his worst monthly haul this year. And then there was that faux presidential seal that was affixed to Obama’s rostrum on Friday, which got mocked from all quarters. What a bizarre and dumb idea. Why do we have a feeling we won't see this again? It really feeds the arrogance narrative.

*** Does Broder Have A Point? Here’s one person who criticized Obama’s decision to opt out of the financing system: Washington Post columnist David Broder. With Obama so unknown still, is it good for him to be ducking town hall meetings and deciding to fund his campaign privately? The more he does things that give the appearance of just another politician, doesn't that undercut the delicate nature of his fresh face image? It's the talking point of the weekend by McCain surrogates, and it could be one that's effective. The Clinton campaign never could make the "he's just another craven politician" tag stick, because Clinton had the whole pot-kettle problem. But with McCain's reform image engrained with many voters -- even if it’s been dented by some reversals of his own -- Obama could see this tactic used against more effectively now than it was during the primary. Also, the Chicago Tribune wonders if Obama will get tagged with Chicago’s negative political image. Then again, as the Washington Post notes this morning, Obama is also demonstrating something with these decisions that his critics found lacking during the primaries: toughness.

VIDEO: John McCain had his best fundraising month yet, raising $21.5 million in May, but that's still $15 million less than Barack Obama had in April. A Race for the White House panel discusses.

*** Behind Obama’s $22 Million: To put Obama’s haul into perspective, do note that it came in the last month of a protracted, 17-month campaign against Clinton. And there was probably plenty of donor fatigue, especially since Obama’s campaign and supporters were pretty sure he had locked up the nomination on May 6 after the Indiana and North Carolina primaries. Clinton, for her part, raised $12.6 million. Also, Obama’s haul still exceeded McCain’s amount -- at a time when McCain was hitting nearly a fundraiser per day, when he received $4.3 million from three big joint fundraisers, and with a unified Republican Party behind him. What’s more, Obama couldn’t really begin raising money for the general election in May, given that he didn’t want to look like he was shoving Clinton out of the race. And Obama’s ability to raise money over the internet has largely depended on news events. Besides his victory in North Carolina, May included blowout defeats in West Virginia and Kentucky. To see if Obama is on pace to bring in $300 million in five months, we'll find out quite a bit next month, when the June numbers are released.

*** The Energy Fight: It looks like we know the issue that's going to drive the presidential campaign for the rest of the summer. With gas prices continuing to go up, it's not shocking but now both campaigns seem to embracing the issue and trying to for new ways to create a wedge between the two campaigns. Obama played the Enron card yesterday, while McCain -- a week after calling for offshore drilling -- gives a speech advocating innovation to replace fossil fuels. (A little ironic, don’t ya think?) “My friends, energy security is the great national challenge of our time. And rising to this challenge will take all of the vision, creativity, and resolve of which we are capable,” McCain will say, according to excerpts released by his campaign.

*** Go West, Young (Or Not So Young) Men: Over the next couple of days, McCain and Obama are both out West. Obama spends Monday in New Mexico and Tuesday in Las Vegas, while McCain spends both days in California, where he mostly raises money. McCain then goes to Las Vegas on Wednesday for yet another fundraiser. Today, McCain is California, speaking at Fresno State University and raising money near there and then in Santa Barbara. Obama campaigns in New Mexico, holding an event in Albuquerque.

What will happen on January 21, 2009, the night after Obama’s or McCain’s Inauguration?  As much as I enjoy the campaigning during this general election stretch, I wonder if anything will get done?  Is campaigning in effect governing, and vice versa?  Will Obama’s energy and inspirational speeches make a difference?  Will McCain be able to do anything with a Congress stacked against him?  Is this right now as good as it gets?
The Press is making much ado about nothing regarding Obama's decision to opt out of the public campaign finance system....no one really cares....its a non issue republicans are pouncing on because they have no record to help them.   And, its smart for Obama to opt out, because of the republican driven 527s he will have to fight against.
Obama has over 1.5 million supporters, so opting out of the public financiing system was a very smart move.

It will get upwards of about $200 million from his supporters alone!  McClain will still get his special interest money as well.

Lindsey Graham is the most unctuous politician on the planet.  His sanctimonious whining on MTP yesterday is one of the reasons why so many Republicans, including myself are disgusted with the party we once believed in.  It's why Barack has a great chance this fall.
Isn't it you liberals that wanted to get the money out of politics? Please explain, using Joe Biden quotes if necessary, how liberals are getting money out of politics.
You want a news event to drive donations?  Try Lindsey Grahams' ridiculous performance on MTP yesterday, in which he played holier-than-thou on campaign finance.  Laughable really.
Broder has no Point; unless you consider how…
Obama didn’t flip-flop, his original position was conditional. It matters when Senator Obama has a double-digit lead in the polls for sharing the positions on the values and issues of the American people.
It matters when McCain mirrors Bush/Cheney... over 2/3 of the country disagree with the way McCain wants the above and the direction he will take the country.
So save your breaths otherwise you’ll be blue in your faces. No matter how hard you try you can’t stop change. No matter how many 527’s, Republican’s party money, or McCain campaign ads may have.  Obama is displaying true intelligent, judgment on leadership. This is why he brought in more money in the primary.  More money = a larger voter coalition. The true leader that Obama is will never be “Swift boated”.  Over 2/3 of this country is not stupid; they not will not be duped with innuendos and distortions... NOT THIS TIME! THEY WILL FOLLOW THE SMART LEADER FOR AMERICA.

Mc Cain has no moral authorities.

FYI: PUMA people will come to themselves; or progressiveness will leave them behind, if they don’t heal.

Firstread,

I notice that you spend your time hitting Obama here and don't even mention the fact that McCains economic advisor is neck deep in the enron scandal, the enron loophole, and USB with the mortgage crisis. What happened to balance.
You jumped all over the non-issue with Jim Johnson's loans, but you continue to give McCain a free pass. It is becoming clear whose side you are on.

Why does the news media continue to perpetuate the erroneous idea that Senator Obama "pledged" to take public financing, when what he said was that he would negotiate an agreement with the Republican nominee? The same Republican nominee that NEVER wanted an agreement, but rather wanted to be able to call Senator Obama a liar?

Why does the media continue to report that Senator Obama is "ducking" town hall meetings when he presented a counter proposal that John McCain has not accepted? Does Senator Obama have to let John McCain dictate the terms to pleas the media?

And as usual, the media gladly plays their part spouting Republican talking points as truth. (All while poo-pooing John McCain's daily position changes (immigration, Bush tax cuts, Iraq war, negotiating with Hamas, off-shore drilling) and feeding the "maverick" lie, when Senator McCain has voted with the Republican party line 95% of the time - RIDICULOUS!)

I've said it before, but it bears repeating - the media is a (not very funny) JOKE!
With 80% of Obamas 1.5 million donations being less than $100.....THAT's campaign finance reform in the now. That's what Biden was saying, though it runs in the face of the current Finance Reform Legislation, it does the same thing.
"Does Broder Have A Point? Here’s one person who criticized Obama’s decision to opt out of the financing system: Washington Post columnist David Broder."

David Broder recently got into trouble for getting paid big bucks for speaking to special interest groups:

http://www.wikio.com/webinfo?id=61496848

And by special interests,we're not talking teachers' unions; Brodertakes money from corporate trade groups. Is it any surprise that Broder fawns over McCain and trashes Obama every chance he gets?

The hypocrisy and corruption of the corporate media is beyond belief. And the FirstRead crew seem pretty much just members of the same corporate media herd, spouting the "conventional wisdom" that's mostly barnyard fertilizer.
You know, hundreds of millions of dollars raised in 20s and 50s and 100s from millions of voters is a far cry from the lobbyist money that the public-financing law was meant to neutralize.  Taking that money is at least as small-D-democratic as going with the public money.  (I was going to say it was in the spirit of the public-financing law as opposed to in the letter of it, but actually, it's not against the letter of it either, since the opt-out is provided for....)
It's really bad that the foreign policies are bubbling to out shadow the ecocnomy and jobs needs of Americans....
Oil is not going to fulfill the real needs of health care, retirement, jobs and better life without war.
He "only" raised $22 million in a month when it was clear the nominating race was over and the convention still over the horizon?

Maybe its me, but I think that's pretty good.

As for opting out of the public financing, if he hadn't he would have been skewered for idiocy by everyone. His real mistake was putting himself in that box by talking about campaign financing last year, when he probably didn't have to.

The good news is he didn't double down on his mistake - he recognized it and reversed it. The Republicans can try to make all the hay they like out of it, but its not something that will impact a single vote, I don't think.

The Republicans might try to build it into a trend, like the "hey, look, he's trying to win - he's a typical politician" trend. The GOP mistake here is believing the Clinton analysis that Obama supporters see him as something almost messianic. They don't - they know he's a politician. They just like him better than the other ones.
The problem isn't money in politics... The problem is the big donors controling the way the party and country moves.  That's the problem.  Now if you have a million and a half donors the odds are that you've got a system where you can claim public financing.  Because when 1.5 million people give money it means there's not elite controling anything.
It concerns me that something as important as electing a president has become a media and poll consultant frenzy.  What every happened to candidates presenting themselves to the American people and allowing the American voting population to make a choice?  It appears that the media are (and I must add, Matthews, Olhberman, etc.) doing whatever they can to make the choice for us.  No one can say anything, this includes the candidates, their consultants and the wife of each candidate, without extreme dissection of what was said, what was meant.  Every one is put in a position of having to apologize for everything.  Does the media not feel that we as part of the American culture can make informed decisions without telling us what was meant by every word that has been said?  I wish the media would respect my intelligence as well as my love for my country meaning I want the facts, just the facts, and not someone who has an agenda telling me what to believe.  The spin really needs to stop. I'm not a child who needs to be spoon-feed and I feel very insulted by the MSNBC slant.  However, I have the upmost respect for Chuck Todd and his staff for giving me the facts; unfortunely, there are program hosts who choose to  extrapulate the issues and don't allow Todd and his staff's voice to be heard.  WOE IS ME!!
I am glad Obama opted out of the PUBLIC campaign FUNDING!

I thought McBush was tough, why is whinning about money?  He knows fulls well what the 527's are going to do and he is doing nothing to stop it.

It's amazing to me watching republicans on television give their suck faced remarks about McBush...I want to know how they feel it it is okay to say things about Obama and cry foul when the TRUTH is spoken about McBush.

The republicans speak with a forked tongue and all this freakin' whinning I want to ask them do they have any cheese to go with that whine {wine}.

The Dems and others who want better for this country are sick of the lies from the repbulicans and although we are spending $4 at the pump, we are going to continue to fund Obama's campaign so we can kick the Bushies out of the white house!
Screw the critics of the Obama campaign logo. Big Deal!!! Can't they find anything better to complain about? In contrast to First Read I would say this has been an Obama week. Up 15 points in the Newsweek poll. Obama is talking about issues and all we can hear from the McCain camp and some of the media is these stupid and childish compliants about logos ans Obama's rejection of particpated in a broken public finance campaign.

Some of the reporting lately has been prettty sad. But I suppose it is simply a reflection of McCain, the Republicans and those who support McCain having not a single issue of substance and depth to criticize Obama. So people complain about logos and the like. Give us the American voters a break.
If offshore oil drilling starts in California...the present Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will be impeached....think about that McNuts

Jim Webb or Joe Biden for Vice President.  I wonder why no one is asking Carly Fiorina about her position on FISA.  Didn't she step down from Hewlett Packard because she was spying on her own employees.  Let's give her a key role in McCain's campaign.  She can certainly control 'the message'.  I wonder how she feels about his comment that authorizing equal pay for equal work as a matter of law would really just open corporations up to unnecessary lawsuits.  As a woman professional he (and through surrogacy - she) offends me to no end.

Lindsey Graham was equally offensive with his, "Barrrracckkk, lied and flip flopped."  over and over on Meet the Press; but when asked why he changed his position on off-shore drilling - he simply changed his mind.  Eric, Salinas says it best when he calls them 'the repugnant ones'.  They really are 'rich' - metaphorically and through their policy making -literally.

WE NEED CHANGE!  The first candidate to refuse Public Financing because he trusts his constituency to finance him - Now THAT's Change!

McCain, your verbal gaffes, at times make George W. Bush seem articulate.  If you aren't four more years of Bush,...you need to find a better way to get your message out.
OBambi is hardly the new Reagan.

Wasting money on ads in ALL states will the single biggest dumb move in this election.

Senator McCain will clock Obama in the red states once again.

Vote against vague promises of change.
Vote against old liberal ideas.
Vote against higher taxes.
Vote against Carter's second term.

Vote for security.
Vote for fiscal restraint.
Vote for experience.
Vote for bipartisanship.

Vote for John McCain.
My friends, I don't have a clue how to address the energy issue except to say we need more tax cuts and to attack Iran.
Chuck, NY
Is this right now as good as it gets?
=============================

No, 1/21/09 will be the best for Obama , the oil fiasco, the war,  infrastructures,  and global economy.

Welcome back Chuck
Where is the coverage on McCain and his advisors being tied to Airbus in winning that military contract over Boeing?
Well, the media sure seems to have made its choice for McThuselah. How come none of the reporting mentions the old man's flip-flop-flip-back on financing during the primaries?

Why can't the story be that Obama has choosen not to waste $84 million in tax-payer's money, and instead, to stake his fortunes on the marketplace of individual donors?
Lindsay Graham didn't do McCain any favors - I thought he looked desperate and snobby.  I think the attempt to try and paint Obama as just another politician might backfire since McCain has flip-flopped on so many more issues than Obama.
I wonder when was the exact moment in American politics when 46 years old became equivalent to 21 years old? Why are Senator Obama's lifetime of experiences in any way inferior to John McCain's? The Constitution only requires one to be 35 years old and American born.

I feel that the leadership Senator Obama has shown in running his campaign should go along way towards demonstrating that he is capable of not only "managing" the Federal government, but LEADING it, and inspiring ALL AMERICANS to once again take responsibilty for and ownership of OUR government.

Why is President of the Harvard Law review, Constitutional law professor, grassroots organizer, civil rights attorney,  state legislator, and U.S. Senator not qualification enough?   Senator Obama has applied the lessons learned in each of these capacities, not to mention husband and father, to run a historically well organized campaign. What more do you need?

Obama/Biden '08/'12
To First Read and MSNBC, thanks for all the great updates you all continue to provide even as you are still mourning the loss of Tim Russert.  You all are doing a great job!  God bless.
[[Why does the news media continue to perpetuate the erroneous idea that Senator Obama "pledged" to take public financing, when what he said was that he would negotiate an agreement with the Republican nominee?]]

Well, considering Obama signed a document that said he would take public financing, wrote glowingly of public financed elections, and said he's meet with McCain (he nenver did) to discuss that public financing route, then yeah, Obama lied.

I mean liberals, get over it. It's plain, and simple, something liberals understand. This Obama is a walking, talking liar.
Hillary Dems: "Wasting money on ads in ALL states will the single biggest dumb move in this election."

You mean, even dumber than not competing in all states?
As an Obama supporter and contributor to his campaighn, I was hesitant to contribute any money that could be used to pay off HRC's debt. I think Obama needs to make it clear none of the money from his supporters will be used for this purpose. He will not receive any more of my hard earned cash, until I'm assured of this.
The Repubs are trying very hard to make Sen Obama look like a man who goes back on his word, aka, just another politician. Nothing could be further from the truth. Sen. Obama is using his brain to make the most out of the resources that are available to him. It is the height of hypocrasy for the Repubs to betray, if given the same set of circumstances, that Sen. McCain would do any differently. This Repub talking point has no traction and will fizzle quickly, unless the media keeps trying to put fire under it.

BTY, the new Obama seal is fine with me. Since his patriotism is in questions, the use of the eagle was a wise choice. The haters will continue to blast anything he does as negative and accuse him of arrogance. Well, I spell arrogance, H-O-P-E.

Welcome back Chuck Todd.  MSNBC made a big deal out of Obama's decision not to take federal money.  He would have been accused as weak and "dumb" if he had taken it. Name me one politician, or anyone for that matter who hasn't changed his or her mind. When he agreed to consider public financing, he had no idea of the excitement his campaign has generated.

So why only $22. million in May.  How about the notion that the primaries were winding down and people had a gas bill or two to pay.  Come Auguest/September, the money will start flowing again.

You say Obama had a "mixed week".  I think it was pretty good. McOld going to Canada and talking about NAFTA will not help him in Michigan, Ohio, Penn. McOld changing his mind on off-shore drilling will not help him in Georgia, Fla, the Carolinas, Oregon, Washington State.  Keep working to find balance in reporting.
I think that Republicans are banking on the fact that there are a lot of journalists out there who, maybe, are trying to prove that they're not 'taken in' by Obama's message.  "Hope" doesn't mean blindness, nor does it mean freedom from individual responsibility.  Obama's message is one that emphasizes each individual taking an active role in making change happen locally, on the state level, and nationally.  He often calls himself "imperfect" in his speeches.  There is no messiah here -- and no delusion of one.  In my experience, people who support Obama are the same people who believe in the policy program of the Democrats and who understand that a candidate who has made it through the gauntlet of Chicago politics is probably strong and smart enough to change the course of the country.

So, when you're asking who is supporting this man, and whether he will be 'brought down' by the idealists who support him... understand that there are many experienced realists who believe that McCain is wrong for this country.  And that Obama has the strength to make good on the Democratic platform.

http://ilfamilypolitics.blogspot.com
It would be foolish beyond belief for Senator Obama to take public financing.  The Republicans have been scamming the election laws for years, and now are screaming when it gets turned around on them.  Lindsey Gramham looked ridiculous on Meet The Press.  I felt slimy just watching him.

Biden did an excellent job, no matter what YOU think Chuck Todd.  Your bias was showing this morning.

Biden for Vice Pres.  He isn't afraid.

And don't think that McCain would have done the same thing if he could raise the money.   What about his little controversy with funding in the primaries?  You going to discuss that?

And watched Morning Joe, cause it didn't contain Joe.
McCain is falling into the same perception pattern as Hillary, that he is willing to say or do anything to be elected.  His reversal on the unfair Bush tax cuts is just one example.  What is ironic is that the one issue where McCain stands firm, the Iraq occupation, is the issue where he would benefit most by doing a 180.
You can make believe all you want to, but BO signed a document to take public financing. He said it six times in the last 17 months.  if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and looks like a duck, it's a duck.  And, in BO's case, a lie is a lie is a lie. He whines about what the 527 s "might" do to him. Yet, the only 527 ad running now is the baby Alex ad.

Re: the fake Presidential seal, it works well for a fake like BO. How arrogant can one person be?
You folks confuse toughness with arrogance.

The janitor in my building who happens to be black and, admittedly does not have the experience to be president, is not arrogant enough to think he could become the president. And he does a hell of a job keeping the front entry clean.

No matter what level of financial backing he receives, media favoritism, couching of the various polls used to sway public opinion he receives Obama is not going to become president. At the end of the day this elitist racist will have to settle for being just a Senator from a predominately black community.

Buy the way, since a black person had no problem becoming a presidential nominee of a major political party any laws regarding affirmative action should immediately be repealed, eliminated.

obama is an ARROGANT FRAUD - and will never be elected - this guy is NOT qualified to lead our country.
Vote Barr and the Libertarian message.  Is anyone really going to vote for John McCain?  No.  They'll vote against Obama or they'll vote for the republican party or their vp candidate.  McCain?  How in the heck did this happen?  Were any conservatives paying attention?  He's too old and he's showing it.  Vote Barr/Root
Hillary Democrats said:

Vote for security.
Vote for fiscal restraint.
Vote for experience.
Vote for bipartisanship.
------------------------------------------

I wonder whether you've lost your grip on reality.  Fiscal Restraint?!??  Have you been asleep for 7 1/2 years?  Bipartisanship?!?? Are you paying attention to the same Presidential race that I am?  Security?!??!  Do you seriously think, "bomb bomb Iran" and a statement that when we'll be bringing troops home from Iraq is "not that important" and a consistent confusing of Sunni and Shiite groups when making public statements advances our security in the world?  Do you think that we will be well served by someone who shows his temper by barking at people who ask questions he doesn't like to answer?

How do you think McCain is going to foster overseas partnerships and bring relief to our overstretched military?

Where is McCain on education?
Where is McCain on the economy?  He joked at a recent fundraiser on a private estate that the property was 'middle class'... Do you honestly think this man gives a care about teachers and fire fighters and truck drivers and factory workers and stay-at-home moms?
Where is McCain on healthcare?  I'll tell you... nowhere.

If you think that Hillary supporters are going to fall for your oversimplified garbage, then you don't give them credit for having a brain in their heads.  The women who supported her movement are smart.  They know what is important to this country.  They know who will work for the issues that are important to them.

Here's a hint:  McCain aint the guy.
"Isn't it you liberals that wanted to get the money out of politics? Please explain, using Joe Biden quotes if necessary, how liberals are getting money out of politics."
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Money in politics isn't the problem - SPECIAL INTERESTS are the problem. And Obama's campaign being funded by average citizens does exactly that - it removes the strangle hold that special interest used to have on Washington.
MSNBC OBAMA BASHING AGAIN?

PUBLIC FINANCING IS USING WE THE PEOPLE TAX PAYER DOLLARS TO THE TUNE OF $162.4 MILLION DOLLARS

GIVE US ONE REASON WHY WE SHOULD PAY FOR BOTH CANDIDATES PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGNS

ISN'T IT FAIR TO LET US SUPPORT WHO WE THE PEOPLE WANT?

WHY WOULD WE THE PEOPLE PAY FOR A CANDIDATE WE DO NOT SUPPORT?

PRESIDENT HIST A RECORD BREAKING $350 MILLION DOLLARS DURING HIS LAST CAMPAIGN, NO ONE'S TALKING ABOUT THAT

THE 527'S THE REPUBLICANS SO PROUDLY USE ACCOUNT FOR MILLIONS IF NOT BILLIONS OF DOLLARS

WHY WON'T MSNBC TALK ABOUT THAT WHICH FAR EXCEEDS THE PUBLIC FINANCING

PUBLIC FINANCING IS JUST A "ROUSE" TO COVER US THE AMOUNTS THE REPUBLICANS USE IN 527'S TO BRING DOWN CANDIDATES

WE THE PEOPLE ARE SMART AND CAN SEE THROUGH THIS NON-SENSE AND WILL SUPPORT THE CANDIDATE OF OUR CHOICE

IN OTHER WORDS WE WILL USE OUR HARD EARNED MONEY TO SUPPORT THE CANDIDATE OF OUR CHOICE

SO MSNBC AND JOHN MCCAIN WHY IS THERE A PROBLEM?

IF SEN. MC CAIN SUPPORTERS WANT TO SUPPORT HIS CAMPAIGN NO PROBLEM, HE SHOULD JUST STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT SEN. OBAMA SUPPORTERS WHO GLADLY GIVE TO HIS CAMPAING

IS SEN. MCCAIN WORRIED THAT HIS SUPPORTERS DON'T CARE ENOUGH TO GIVE TO HIS CAMPAING?
The obamaa group just cannot take any bad press for their guy.  Obama is NOT qualified - and we are sick of being called racist, bitter, hicks.... when our only crime is seeing that obama is not qualified to lead our country - and we will NOT vote for him.
So...I guess the MILLIONS & MILLIONS of AMERICANS will prove this in Nov!
There are No Red State or Blue States we are the United States of America.

Sen. McCain and the Republicans don't own any state

Every state is open for any Candidate, so..............

Sen. Obama will campaign in Every State to ensure that he brings his campaign to Every Voter

The Days of the Red & Blue States are Over

We simply Want Change.........................
If Obama is expecting all this money, what does that tell you about the economy?  Other then gas prices, it seems there is no economic problems, just made up economic problems.  People must be sending in their stimulus money if that's the case.

Obama's own seal????  LOL
He sure is stepping in it a lot lately......
The Democrats have tried in the past putting the following as Presidential candidate and failed:
1) Peanut Farmer
2) Vice President
3) Vietnam Vet
Now, an African-American (PC) candidate preaching CHANGE to the people and is playing a race-victim card as well. Seems that this party will desperately do anything just to have their day in DC. This is a sick sign that party has an ulterior motive that does not bode well to that interest of the general public once they are lucky enough to take over this time .
obama was able to raise 22 million without having to even work for it how is this a bad month in fundraising.  McCain had 3 months and sat around doing nothing but drawing up controversy.  22 million is not a bad month

http://sensico.wordpress.com/2008/06/23/dwc-checklist-4-change-part-5/
If you think Senator Obama's logo resembles the presidential seal, you should do a little more investigating because the republican fundraising logos look even more so!  There are three that I saw.  The donor of 5,000 is the the "Presidential Roundtable" and the emblem looks very presidential.  You might want to send RNC/ McCain a copy of the law.  They just caught in their own web of lies. Again.

Grahm was so ridiculous on MTP.  The repub's are really, really mad.  I really, really don't care abaout their maddness.  As I see it, Senator Obama is doing the purest form of public financing!  We the public, will actualy foot the bill for his presidency.

Obama 08
This idiot is is copying the Presendital seal and never served anything except the hip hop community in Chicago=wonder why he didnt put some spinners on it and show what he s really about.
