This is so sad.  The Republicans have no strategy to improve America so their strategy is mainly to focus on what Obama is not fully knowing that if they had this type of funding they would opt for it in a heartbeat.

I think they are truly worried about competing against Obama.  They were all ready for HIllary.  I never seen the Republicans campaign so hard for a Democrat.  So now they have to go back to the drawing board and this is the best they can come up with.

Obama still takes money from the public, no special interest, no lobbies and Americans are supposed to be upset.  Give me a break

Could someone remind John McCain that Obama's campaign will NOW BE FUNDED voluntarily by citizens lawfully and that McCain should stop breaking campaign finance law.

Unfortunately for Uncle Fluffy and the GOP, the public doesn't care about this issue as much as they do.  I don't know of anyone who actually checks off that box on their tax return for the $3 to go to the campaign fund.  I think the public is a lot more concerned about the issues and campaign-wise I think they're more concerned about the lobbyists (Charlie Black & Phil Gramm).

Besides, why does the GOP care so much about this?  They've got their precious little 527s lining up and Uncle Fluffy doesn't have to worry about flying anywhere since he helped write the campaign reform law that allows him to fly anywhere on the Barbie Dream Corporate Jet worry free.

The deals, expected to be announced on June 30, will lay the foundation for the first commercial work for the major companies in Iraq since the American invasion, and open a new and potentially lucrative country for their operations.

The contracts, which would run for one to two years and are relatively small by industry standards, would nonetheless give the companies an advantage in bidding on future contracts in a country that many experts consider to be the best hope for a large-scale increase in oil production.

The Bush administration has said that the war was necessary to combat terrorism. Well, I wonder if Senator McCain would've run this article right after he divorced his first wife in favor of beer maven Cindy?  Is that a not a flip-flop for expedeint pruposes?

Well, for the rest of you, check these few things out.
1. Was co-author of the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reforms Act of 2002 but choses to abandon it in his current campaign. Then, went back to public financing.  He changed his position TWICE within 3 months.
2. Was against the Bush tax cuts until he decided that he was for it.  He voted against them in 2001 and 2003 but is now the Chmapion for those same tax cuts that we couldn't afford when we had a surplus.
Senator McCain, if we couldn't afford them when we had a surplus, how do we afford them now when we're in a massive deficit?
3. Voted against closing the Enron Loophole in 2003 but may now be in favor to close them.  Course, he'll probably go back to being against it once he speakse with his adviser, former Senator Phil Gramm.  After all, it was his wife who helped create and push through the Enron loophole. The fact that Gramm is a lobbyist is not important for this particular point.
4. Was against holding detainees at Gitmo but is now for it.
5. Didn't think Roe v Wade could overturned in 2006 but said in South Carolina late in 2007 that he Roe should be overturned. And, in April 2007 said he favored judges like Alito, Roberts, Scalia and Thomas (all of whome favor overturning Roe).
6. Was opposed to torturing war criminals but is now for it.  See last weeks indignation over the Supreme Court ruling regaring habeas corpus.
7. Was for his country, but in a Fox News interview with Sean Hannity, said "I didn't really love my country until I was a prisoner."  This from a March 2008 interview.

But, don't take my word for it, I'm just an anonymous person hiding on the internet telling the truth.  Why don't we hear from Senator McCain himself?

An Oregon City woman who dated congressional candidate Mike Erickson seven years ago said she asked him directly whether he wanted to have a baby. He shook his head no, she said, and paid for her abortion.

In interviews with The Oregonian, the woman said she met Erickson in September 2000, and she had the abortion in January 2001. They saw each other afterward, she said, even going on a trip to Mexico in March, before the relationship ended. She spoke on the condition that only her first name, Tawnya, be used.

Her story is backed up by medical and other records, and the accounts of two friends, one of whom was with her at the abortion. Their story conflicts directly with Erickson's version.

He agrees that he gave Tawnya $300 for medical help, and a ride to a doctor's office near Lloyd Center, but said he didn't know she was pregnant or planned to get an abortion. He said he doesn't think he saw her again after that day.

Erickson, a Lake Oswego businessman, is the Republican candidate for the 5th Congressional District and is running on a "pro-life" platform. The charge that he provided money to Tawnya nearly derailed his campaign for the May 20 primary and could hobble his chances in the Nov. 4 general election against state Sen. Kurt Schrader, D-Canby.

Tawnya, now 34, recalled sitting with Erickson in his new Mercedes that January, parked across from the abortion clinic.

"I was bawling so hard I couldn't speak. He looked so sad. He looked like he cared," she said.

"I asked him, 'Are you sure you don't want a baby?' " she said. "He shook his head. I opened the door, got out bawling and crossed the street and walked up to the clinic."

Erickson, 45, said he dated Tawnya "for a couple of months." He told The Oregonian he didn't remember many details about their relationship, including where they met or when they dated. He said she betrayed no emotion during the car ride.

"Did I pay for an abortion? Absolutely not," Erickson said....'

Why does McCain camp focus on this? Because its all he has to hang onto.

And what a silly argument it is, seing that McCain flopped not once, but TWICE, on the same exact subject.

If I had a nickel for everytime McCain has flip flopped on something, I may be able to fill my 2001 Chevy Cavalier. He is the biggest hypocrite and I don't see why it's okay that he flip flops on some of the most important issues in this country, but Obama opts out of public financing and is too busy getting his campaign together than to do these McCain led town hall meetings.

The GOP and the McCain camp know they cannot win against Obama on the issues nor on the excitement of particpation on the part of the Dems versus that of the Republicans. Their only course and strategy to try and stay in this race is to attack, to try and tear Obama down, and to play the fear card whenever possible. I'm waiting for the GOP and McCain to start attacking Obama on his shoe size or the fact that Obama most likely will want to put a basketball court i nthe Whitehouse in favor of the bowling alley. Anything to try and scare people away from Obama. The GOP and McCain have no substantive proposals behind the issues that face Amercicans today except drilling and staying the course in Iraq. One can respect McCain's service in the military but the guy just don't have it when it comes to inciting Americans to reach for something greater then themselfs. No matter what anyone says McCain just don't have it. McCain can play the flip-flop game but that won't work because he too has flip-flopped on many issues. He can try and tear Obama down but obviusoly McCain did not watch the Dem primary to see that when Hilary t ried the same it just didn't work. I feel sorry for McCain in a way. I don't want him as my President but he is so out of touch and so desparate that his campaign has really become quite comical in a sad way. I don't know where and when McCain procured most of his advisors but even they appear to be quite out of touch and desparate. A sad state of affairs for the McCain campaign.

Oh please!  He filled out a questionaire!  How many of us "break our words" everyday filling out a questionaire.  Just ask Cosmo readers.  And didn't ol' McSame wait around until Barack said he will not take public finances?  Then he calls himself pouncing.  Well, McSame explain the 4 million dollar loan from the public financing well.

McCain is starting to look silly with this. The attack shouldn't become disproportionate to the 'offense' lest one starts to look like Sean Hannity.

THE OIL SPECULATORS ARE BELIEVED TO BE RESPONSIBLE, IN PART, FOR THE RUN UP IN OIL & GASOLINE PRICES.  THE USA CAN WELL AFFORD TO DUMP A LARGE AMOUNT OF ITS STRATEGIC OIL RESERVES ON THE USA MARKET.  BECAUSE OIL SPECULATORS ARE "BETTING” THAT OIL PRICES WILL INCREASE, THEY WILL BE FINANCIALLY RUINED BY A SUDDEN GLUT OF OIL ON THE MARKET.  

IT WILL ALSO SEND A STRONG SIGNAL TO THE 'OIL SPECULATORS' THAT WE WILL DO WHATEVER IT TAKES TO STOP THEIR DESTRUCTIVE PRACTICES.  IF THIS DOES NOT WORK WELL ENOUGH, LAWS & REGULATIONS PUTTING THEM OUT OF BUSINESS WILL BE NEXT.
