McCain ad, a subtle patriotism swipe?

McCain has a new ad, focusing on energy, that is "being cycled into" the campaign's current buy, the campaign says. Notably it will run on national cable and in Nevada, New Hampshire, Colorado, Missouri, New Mexico, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Iowa.

Note that even though the ad focuses on energy, there is a new McCain campaign message that has emerged this week: "Country First." The patriotism-focused slogan appears on screen at the end of the ad next above McCain's name. "Putting country first" is one of the last lines of the ad. A campaign memo by McCain adviser Steve Schmidt echoed the theme earlier this week. The title: "Country First Vs. Self-Serving Partisanship."

Obama has fought accusations of a lack of "patriotism," including his stated opposition to wearing a flag pin. (He now often wears one.) Obama's wife, Michelle, has also been the subject of this patriotism line for her first-time-being-proud-of-her-country comments. Cindy McCain also invoked the specter of her counterpart's love of country in TV interviews by talking up how much she, in fact, loves America.

Script: "Purpose":
ANNCR: American technology protected the world.
We went to the moon, not because it was easy, but because it was hard. John McCain will call America to our next national purpose: Energy Security. A comprehensive bipartisan plan to: Lower prices at the pump; Reduce dependence on foreign oil through domestic drilling; And champion energy alternatives for better choices and lower costs.

Putting country first. McCain.

MCCAIN: I'm John McCain and I approve this message.

I think Michelle and Obama should have outfits made in red, white, and blue, with stars and stripes all over it then play the star spangled banner at every event.  Maybe then McSame will figure out that being a POW doesn't make a president, just like being a failed baseball owner doesn't make you a president.
Drilling for more oil in highly environmentally sensitive areas is not the answer to the problem.

Oil, to the extent it can even be retrieved from these areas, will not be on the market for 5 years at least.

This oil will not reduce gas prices because consumption will have only increaed even further, no additional refinaries means no additional gas.

The answer is renewable energy sources, or else, we will cook ourselves to death in global warming.

did you all know the North Pole Arctic Ice Cap will be completely melted by the end of this summer!  Guess Santa Clause will drown with all the polar bears.

McCain's energy policy is Bush's policy, and thus, is wrong for America.

Wake up McDummies!  80% of this country says we're on the track. McCain keeps us on that track because he's Bush.

Obama, he love's this country!
You have got to be kidding me?? This is one of the most assinine ads I have ever seen!

I guess this is all they've got and let me tell you folks they've got nothing!!

Yesterday somebody told me 'Obama sucks and I responded that if he sucks then McCreepy swallows!!

It's going to be a landslide this year and I for one CANT wait!!

Obama/Hagel 08/12 - REAL Change!
At least John McCain is proud of America....

Can't say much about Obama....

Or his wife......
McCain insisting that his country comes first, with him, rings disingenuous.

How many of you have been called to perform in some way or another, but knowing you did not have what it takes to do a good job, passed, as an act of morality?

I cannot believe that McCain has no doubt whatsoever, that he is up to the rigors of Commander In Chief. He knows good, and well that his better days are long behind him.

He is either egomanical, or lost in confusion. Either way, he is not fit for the job of POTUS.
