McCain makes 2nd Czechoslovakia error

Posted: Tuesday, July 15, 2008 1:17 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Kelly O'Donnell
For the second time in two days, McCain has made a reference to "Czechoslovakia." His answers were about contemporary events, not history. McCain did not use the current name Czech Republic, the country formed in January 1993 when Czechoslovakia split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The first instance was yesterday during a media news availability and the second today during a town hall meeting.

To Jacob:

When you refer to "The needs of understanding most Americans"  are you talking about the multiple personalities of John McCain?
When will the media seriously highlight the deficiencies of McCain dementia? He should not be president if has organic brain syndrome or early Alzheimer’s. This is serious; not a laughing matter. Lieberman can’t baby-sit McCann 24/7!
Organic brain syndrome or early Alzheimer’s is not a joke neither is the Presidency of  one of the most powerful countries in the world.
I'd sooner have a white guy in office that understands the needs of most Americans rather then a black guy that understands the needs of no one. : Jacob Blackstone.  this election is revealing the hatred in many. you sir just showed your face, with that assinine statement
WAY TO GO MATTHEW FROM BLOOMFIELD HILLS MICHIGAN, YOU ARE SOOOOOOOO RIGHT, THE ALMIGHTY REPUBLICANS PICKED A REAL WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL HELP PAY FOR THE PLANE TICKET TO SEND HIM TO THE COUNTRY THAT NO LONGER IS.
This particular item gets today's major "so what" award. If ever there was a meaningless, less trivial snippet of information about any particular candidate, I certainly can't name what it is.
By the way...ask Obama about the first gulf war, and where HE was when it was going on.
Kinda' makes you go...hmmmmmmm, doesn't it?
Is this really news?  Is this any worse than Obama's '57 states' confusion?  Obamabots, you may have plenty to pick on with McCain, but this isn't one of them.  I love how everyone screams 'let's get back to the issues' when Obama makes a gaffe but you're all over it when McCain does.
What's wrong with journalist? If it was Obama who was making goofs like this,... you guys was suppore to attack him!!!! McCain doesn't know or understand the issues. They are seniors like him in public face, but they can't be ignorance and incompetence like this man. You guys think and eveluate how the impartiality reign in USA.
This isn't funny anymore, McCain has health & medical issues, but the Republicans has hitched their bandwagon to his boat, and it's sinking like the Titanic.
This just in:  the McCain campaign has announced a major overseas trip to showcase his superior knowledge of the foreign policy challenges facing America today.   Stops scheduled thus far include Czechoslovakia, Siam, Prussia, Rhodesia, and a grande finale in the Countship of Flanders.    McCain chided Obama for his inexperience:  “How can he claim to be ready to lead America,” McCain asked, “when he hasn’t even dained to visit our onetime adversaries the Ottaman Empire in the past 3 years?”
He'd probably try to bomb both not knowing the difference...
When will he be unveiling his plan for defeating Hirohito, Mussolini and Hitler?

Come on guys.  Lay off McCain.  He's not dumb.  He's incredibly old and senile.  There's a difference.
And I'm sure the average American knows the important distinction between Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic.  Please.
All you reppubs really have to be embarrased by who your party nominated as it's the best politician. At this point he is making mistakes a college student would not.THis is sad and I hate to say it but he is really starting to show how his mind is not that sharp. And you know it has nothing to do with his age. Just face it, McCain just isn't that bright a guy. Heck if I had an Admiral father and grandfather I could get into the Naval academy. To finish 5th from last should have been a disgrace for his family. And from what I understand, he became a pilot on  his dad's name  AND he wasn't all that good at that. Isn't it time to at least elect a person who is smart. Aren't you sick of the dumb leader jokes we have to endure.
McCain is an empty suit of battered bones and his brain has regressed to that of a 10 year old.... or is that to the times when he was 10 years old?
I think McCain is shaping up to be the worst Presidential candidate in modern histroy.
John Doe... there's a huge difference.  Obama mentioned 57 states... once.  McCain gaffed on this twice, two days in a row.  Yesterday his campaign released a statement trying to clean up behind him (like when Cindy changes his diaper)... just to have him say the EXACT same thing again.

Thank you Brenda :O)

Isn't this amazing?  But yet....the MSM ONLY fine-tooth-combs OBAMA!
As long as the media continues to look the other way, the American public will not learn how seemingly inept McCain is.  It is quite scary, actually.
Please explain why McCain is considered a national policy expert?  Good lord.  He's looking more like Bush III every day.  We're about to get rid of President Nitwit - do you really want to elect an even dumber one in McCain. (I honestly didn't think it was possible to be more of a moron than Bush, but I think McCain could pull it off.)
