Nunn says 'Czechoslovakia,' too

McCain has received plenty attention -- including here -- for saying "Czechoslovakia," when that country no longer exists.

Well, it turns out that potential veep pick Sam Nunn also referred to Czechoslovakia at today's global-threats summit in Indiana with Obama.

Here's the video, courtesy of the McCain campaign:

"Missile defense -- that's another whole subject," Nunn said. "I won't take much time except to say we in this country are about to, under this government, under the Bush Administration, deploy a missile defense system in Poland and Czechoslovakia, which is an immature system that has not been adequately tested against an immature threat that has not yet materialized."

John McCain to media: See look! He's almost as dumb as John McCain!
I do not understand the importance of this article. Why does a surrogate has more importance than an uneducated presidential candidate? If you are trying to protect CAIN for his lack of general knowledge and old age, just look for something more interesting to point out.
Poor CAIN he is too old and gets tired at times. But he had time to divorce his wife and marry someone rich to help him in his political career. CAIN is rich out of promoting vice and addiction of alcohol. He is smart enough for that...but we are smarter.
No moral person will vote for someone called CAIN. Remember the bible.
It's the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Hooray geography!!! HAHA @ Obamatons. ;)
As Oblerman, Maddow, Matthews, and others have said, once any gaff by Obama's campaign is made the media is on it, but McCain has been saying that for weeks and nothing has been said about it.  Isn't it strange that one candidate (McCain) can say and do anything and there is not mention.
As an Obama supporter, jsut goes to show NUNN is an out of touch OLD guy too.....we need spomeone who isn't so old they can't remember what countries are what........NUNN isn't running for Preisdent though
Sam aint the nominee.  I also find an almost childish amount of "nah, nah, nah, nah, nah" generated by the McCain campaign.  It's like watching some inadequate kid in a playground.
"The fun is in guessing what will be the next obsolete reference?  The USSR?  The Berlin Wall?  Tang?
Suburban Mom paying attention, IL"

I was just about to make a comment about how ridiculous and small media coverage has been, and just how fed up with it I am... but then I read your comment and decided to compliment you on your tang reference instead.  It made me laugh and reminded me of more innocent times.  Thanks!
And all this proves is that we can't have old people in office....he should be off the Veep list.
We need a politican with up to date information.
Maggie, your argument is completely illogical. Did YOU help build the white house as a slave? Assuming you are not 200 years old, I would say you did not. Did I own slaves? No. Black Americans today having

the attitude that White Americans today OWE them something is just plain ignorant. In America, you can achieve anything you like, but....it won't be given to you. You have to get off of your lazy behind and

make it happen. Much (not all - i admit - but a majority at least) of Black America wants to sit at home and watch Oprah or something equally useless and complain about The Man keeping them down. That same

lazy group sees Obama as a free ticket to success, at least vicariously. Voting was originally restricted to Landed White Males because these were the people who were (1) edcuated and (2) had a vested

interest in who led the government. But now the electorate is watered down with people who lack one or both of those pre-requisites. And the result is that we find ourselves as a nation seriously considering

a completely unqualified candidate like Obama because he is black, and (until God's recent mercy) a completely selfish one like Hillary because she is the best liar on the planet and people lacking (1) and

(2) above are too stupid to see through that. I realize that many of the idiots who read this post will take the easy way out and call me racist and sexist because that is the easiest way to justify their own stupidity and laziness. But hte truth is not racially motivated - the truth is simply the truth.
BUT, Sam Nunn is NOT the presumption nominee.  That's the difference.  McCain is OLD and out of touch.  Go home and draw your pension and take your Viagra
I wonder how many people who are making fun of these two people even knew that it was a mistake prior to the media pointing it out.  A great deal of people in this country don't even know who our current vice president is, I doubt they know anything about other countries.  Yet they come online and complain that these men made a mistake.
It's amazing to me, absolutely stunning, the lengths to which the Obama disciples will go to rationalize things. The amount of ageism in this campaign - be it against McCain or Nunn - belies the absolute arrogance of today's youth (99% of which are not even a 10th as intelligent as either McCain or Nunn).
Look, for most of their lives, the Czech Republic has been Czechoslovakia to these men.  Nobody screamed bloody murder when Hillary Clinton repeatedly called Miramar "Burma" whilst criticizing the crisis over there.  And most of the people commenting here couldn't find either the Czech Republic or Miramar on a map if their life depended on it.
Well, we live in a big world that has changed greatly in every way, and the older gentlemen have not kept up. We need smart younger leadership, with minds still razor sharp.

That is not to say we throw our elders behind our back. They should still be consulted for their wisdom, and experience.

Thank god I live in a country that has 57 states, Like Barack Obama has stated LOL
MSNBC -FR - why are you posting Maggie White's from Dallas, TX explicit racial comments?

Do you want to start a racial war? - Isn't things touchy as is.

IT's a disgrace that you allow this type of posting.  I yesterday placed a comment yesterday in opposition to her racist comments and you didn't post it.

I beg you please - if you are not going to allow everyone to post their comments....please do not allow comments from people like maggie white to be post either...THIS IS RIDICULOUS and NOT NECESSAY
READ VOTERS

If you all like the way things going high gas, high food, loss job, loss homes….

McCain policies the same as BUSH im not sure what you will save.

Don't let Talk radio fool you read there policies on there web site.

Also even if you don't like OBAMA vote for his policies.

And if your a woman you in truble with McCain policies, good luck ladies.

VOTE SMART PEOPLE
If anyone thinks that Senator Obama believes that there are 57 states has an IQ of 57.  Everyone has slips of the tongue, and it just may have been an exaggerated joke emphasizing that it feels like 57 states of exhaustive campaigning.  Remember, he had other territories to campaign in as well. So he had aleast 53 places to campaign.  But of course, anyone who has an IQ of 57, does not have the ability to reason beyond a moron's mentality.
Seems like we should put geograpy back in the school curriculum.
But really folks is this important?
lets all get back to the issues or is making a verbal gaffe how we will choose our next president?
Our children can't even find China on a map but hey who cares.
Just a thought - but I believe Sen. Obama's remark about 57 states was meant as a "tongue-in-cheek" kind of remark. You know like when you say to your children "if I've told you once I've told you a thousand times....".
ah - the ol' "He did it too" trick...yea, what's that saying about 2 wrongs not adding to something...well, if you add McCain's continued mistakes..Nunn's would make about the 11th wrong....
