Battleground: Sister Act

Posted: Friday, July 18, 2008 9:12 AM by Domenico Montanaro

FLORIDA: Obama's half-sister campaigned for her brother in Florida yesterday. "Maya Soetoro-Ng stumped for her brother in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties, headlining a ‘Women for Obama’ event in Tampa on Thursday. She was scheduled to meet with educators in Largo today."

NEW HAMPSHIRE: Former Pennsylvania Gov. and Homeland Security czar Tom Ridgehelped announce the formation of New Hampshire Veterans for McCain. … On Saturday, McCain's New Hampshire campaign plans what it calls ‘Super Saturday’ -- an eight-hour effort of phone banks and door knocks run out of its offices in Manchester, Nashua, and Stratham. McCain, himself, is scheduled to hold a town meeting in Rochester on Tuesday.”

NEW JERSEY: A Strategic Vision (R) poll in NJ has Obama up, but by just nine points, 47%-38%.

Huh?  I thought McCain thought New Hampshire was a lock?
The last poll in New Jersey (Rasmussen) had Obama up by just 5%. Pollster.com's combine polls in New Jersey has Obama up by 10%. So why do you frame the latest result as "A Strategic Vision (R) poll in NJ has Obama up, but by just nine points, 47%-38%"? Just nine points? How is that any different from the past?

Why use the phrase "but just" which implies something less than the past? Sloppy.
Believe...then vote..
Obama/Biden'08
I noticed everytime Obama is up on anything there is always a "but"....he raised $52,000,000.."but" ..he has to out do that next time to keep pace"
He is up in NJ .."But...." He is doing better than Kerry!!!
Unbelievable!!!
Obama's half sister makes a very effective surrogate for him. I have seen her on the Internet: she's very bright, down to earth, attractive, and has a winning personality. Between her, Michelle and those awesome daughters, Obama is surrounded by very wonderful women. And, yes, I do think a man can be judged by the (feminine) company that he keeps.
mccant is a nice old man BUT  incompetent to lead anything.
He's up, "but just by nine points..."?

Only 9, huh? That seems comfortable.
And, yes, I do think a man can be judged by the (feminine) company that he keeps.

But the other company he keeps (Rev Wright, William Ayers, Rezko) is off limits and if you mention any of them you will be labeled a race baiter.

Yes Joe:

Good observation. I was noticing that too! Barack just can't do enough can he?

Michelle was right. THEY keep raising the bar!!!!
Hillary lets Maya fly around on her broom.
First Read is ridiculous! By just 9 points? Really?
uh-oh, sister watch out, now we will hear bad things about you to, right? You media people are ridiculous.
The Obamas are so refreshingly multi-cultural.

That is so good for today's times.
