Obama Spanish-language radio ad

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
Obama makes an appeal to the Hispanic community drawing on his biography in his latest Spanish-language radio ad, which will run in Colorado, Florida, New Mexico and Nevada beginning today.

All four are battlegrounds with Hispanic voters. Florida, however, has a higher concentration of typically more conservative Cuban voters.

Script for “Nuestro Propio Camino”:
OBAMA: I´m Barack Obama and I approve this message.
ANNCR: Some people have power and connections.
But most of us have to make our own way through life. This is true even for the man who could become the next President … Barack Obama. He grew up without a father -- raised by his mother with the support of his grandparents. Through student loans and hard work, he graduated from college.

Obama never forgot his roots… He worked with churches to help families get job training and after-school care for their children. In the State Senate, he passed a law that helped reduce the welfare roles by over 80% by helping families to secure jobs. And despite the political pressure, Obama has stood with us for immigration reform and spoke out for our veterans.

It’s time we had a President who understands we all deserve a chance to make our own way.

Brother Odd: '...Presidents might as well start addressing the nation and giving their press conferences in spanish. It will be our offical language in another ten years or so...'

Brother Odd, I'd suggest you start learning Chinese
At the rate we're borrowing from them....
At the rate their economy is growing....

China will soon be #1

We've got the smartest weapons and the dumbest political class....

I laugh when McCain touts his support of the Latino community with his stance on immigration, but leaves out his reversal on that exact stance.

Obama isn't arrogant.  He is cool, calm and collected.  He has a sense of self and believes in his abilities to lead our nation out of its darkest moment.  If you wish to vote for someone who is unsure of his or herself, that is your problem.

Many of my Hispanic friends voted for HRC because of Bill and name recognition.  None of them have even given a 2nd thought to the idea of voting for McCain.  Obama isn't taking those voters for granted and I love that he is doing his ad in Spanish.  I will also add that we are one of the fewest countries that don't push bilingual studies.  In just about everywhere you go overseas they can speak their native language and English or something else.  We should incorporate more foreign language studies here in the U.S.  It could really take us places.

Obama '08...the only choice for me
In response to Juan Valdez:  I don't think most people, even McCain supporters, have any problem with "hispanics...and their kind".....just the ILLEGAL ones.
Americans will just eat anything as long as it is looking good in a picture. Prime example is Obama.
Obama has worked with Hispanics, as well as, all socially challenged Americans, whether White, Black, Red, Yellow, Brown, male, female, young or old.

He is one of us. Those who call him cocky hate that he is self assured...confident.

Miss America has zero chance to ascend to that title lest she be poised, and confident. Yet a man of biracial lineage with the same personality trait is rejected out of hand by those intent upon hate.

In the above post yesterday, Mark composed a very articulate argument for John McCain's honesty. He delineated points focusing on Senator Obama's strecthing of the truth.

As a clearly accomplished writer, I assume he accidentally forgot to balance his piece. I'll help out with that.

McCain out right lied when he pandered to Pittsburghers in a recent campaign stop in 'Steeler Nation'. He transposed the 'Steel Curtain', for the 'Green Bay Packers' whom in his book he wrote he substituted their team names instead of those of the military.

He lied when he, corroborated by Bush, took credit for Jim Webb's GI bill, which in fact McCain voted against. What's worse he had the wretchedness to tell us exactly why he was against it. He kept lying about it to a veteran who called him on it in one of his town meeting's that Mark is so proud of.

Mark, masterful compositions do not a winning argument make.
I would love to see Rachel Maddow paired with Morning Shill. No giggling, just straight up effective refutation of Joe's amazing shillery.
In all fairness to Mika, she is in a bad spot, forced to play Morning Joe "girl" to a so called analyst who probably doesn't allow himself to be challenged by his lessors.
I've heard the ad here in Florida; nothing new in the way of message content.

I too wonder why not in Texas?
That 60% of the people agree should tell McCain/Bush/Cheney Regime what honor is!
Isn't that what honor thy neighbor as thyself means?
Obama will prevail with the Spanish vote because McCain lied about immigration. He also lied on Obama blaming high gas prices on Obama. Obama should let the Hispanic voters know that McCain tells a gran mentira (big lie).
I’ll bet that won’t get lost in translation. Verdad?
Cooper, I'm not going to blast you.
Rather, I'll take the high road and say thank you for considering that Senator Obama is looking Presidential. Now, take the image and store it in your memory bank, so when you go to vote in November (or October for early voters), you will have that positive image to go back to.

While you're at it, also keep in mind that image of Senator McCain not having an answer for the viagra is covered by insurance, but prescription birth control isn't, do you have any thought on that Senator McCain?
Remember the image, where he just goes blank?  Well, here you go, to help you out.

And, um by the way, if he gets back to you, will you let the rest of us know what he said.  It's not very presidential, you know, to say I'll get back to you (on camera no less) and then still not have an answer more than a week later.
Good grief.  Obama is an ignorant puppet with no experience that regurgitates other people's ideas as his own.  He is arrogant with no substance.

There is a reason why there are so many active blogging obama supporters...we have substance to talk about, and we do our research.  We've tried to find any thing new on the right and we just find more of the same...anything new from the right has to do with attacks on Obama...sooooo we end up in the same place.

I'm really tired of the NCAA college sports team approach that people are taking.  It's like they've chosen a side because the like the uniform colors.(pun intended)

I'm an independent.  For the 4 past elections I've voted independent...this is the first time i've seen a party candidate that had the most comprehensive plan for this country.  And so far there is nothing i've seen that says he can't get it done.  He may not be able to get all his promises completed, but I believe america will be moving in a much better direction with Obama at the helm.

McCain to me is just a vote for:

War with Iran (which will send oil to 300 a barrel)
Sustained addiction to Oil
More debt to foriegn countries
Further damage to our reputation as a nation
More Jobs shipped out to countries that have horrible human rights.
Stagnant Progress

Vote for Progress,
Obama 08
