Sweet.  I like that little guy.
I wonder if the Dalai Lama will fall asleep while listening to the boring, dull old geezer.
Maybe the Dalai Lama can give McCain a brain, just like The Wizard of Oz
irony. the peaceful dalai lama meets bomb, bomb, bomb, iran. hey maybe the dalai lama can teach McCain to stop being angry all of the time.
Two old guys sharing a cup of tea.  Hope McCain gets used to it.
OK, First Read..we get it.

McCain whined enough so now you're going to report on every little thing the campaign says and does.

I'm glad my job doesn't require me to be maipulated like you guys are.

That being said, however, I doubt I would be so easily controlled.

Obama '08
HUGE mistake! He's going to look older then the Dalai Lama side by side.
Nice publicity stunt...considering McCain is pretty much against everything the Lama stands for.
Maybe he can calm him and tell him not to be so grumpy.

Sen McCain pointed out the Ohio will be a key state in the upcoming election since it borders Iraq.

Just had to repost this because I can't stop laughing

May he reach True Enlightenment.
Nothing he does can compare with the speech I just heard from Berlin.
OMG...McCain is using the Dalai Lama...this should make a very interesting ad
Good.  McCain could use some peaceful meditation.  (I think he neds a new mantra though - "bomb, bomb, bomb" isn't working for him)
Unfortunately, McCain may not get the message of peace, love and prosperity. A translator may not be there; but McCain will get the cheese and grapes!
maybe the Dalai Lama can do us all a favor and turn McCain into a tree.
Just got done watching a man give a speech in Berlin to thousands of Germans.  If elected he will be a "Leader of the Free World" worthy of the title.

"People of Berlin, people of the world, this is our moment. This is our time,"
McCain:  "My friend, first there was surge that was really just a pre-surge strategy that surged into the second surge that will result in a surge of surging victory that re-surges in a resurgent America"

Dalai Lama: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Wonderful!  I hope McCain learns something about not being able to bomb everyone you don't agree with.
Maybe the Dalai Lama can teach McCain some useful meditative techniques. . .

Meanwhile, Obama, the progressive candidate, is wowing world leaders and spreading goodwill abroad. McCain's pouting because Obama (wisely) did not take John up on his offer to go together.  McCain would have been an unwelcome distraction. Or, perhaps, the stark contrast between the progressive, articulate, intelligent candidate, and the Bush-like, confused one would have been that much easier to see.  Darn.  Maybe Obama should have taken McCain along!
tee hee hee

Senator McCain is trying to get is foreign relations street cred back, right?

Awwww, Big Mac, you are comedy GOLD! :)
this does sound desperate
Seems a little "me-too"ish.

Obama's winning over world leaders and looking more presidential everyday this week.

It's as if McCain is trying to say "Hey, look at me. I can be an international leader too."
zzzzzzZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz

zzzzzzZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz
Why?
Nice move J Mac,
you had to do something to counter that HUGE scene from Berlin yesterday.

And in Denver no less.

But, will you be giving us an update (finally) on that viagra question from two weeks ago?
AAAW. He's trying to compete with Obama, and get a bit of ink.

That's all you gave him First Read. There are a total of 12 words in this article.

McCain, and the Dalai Lama. He'll look about as comfortable as he did singing hymns with the old Black ladies in the backwater shanty towns last Spring.
Cool!
OBAMA 08
Well, this is a very interesting development. Is it an attempt to shunt some of the attention away from Obama's world tour, or is it to poke China in the eye right before the Olympics?
I hope the Dalai Lama enlightens McCain. He could use it. I am shocked and appalled at the apparent lack of self-control and discipline by the man, who dared to call someone "craven" and a "traitor"

On what basis do you use those words, sir? You daily try to tell us what a hero you are and what courage you have. I used to respect you.

No More. You are despicable.
Good for him maybe he'll listen and come away not being so hawkish about things. But seriously McCain We all love the dude but you honestly think that would top BO's trip to Europe? If you really need the press walk outside nekkid or something.

I'm waiting for First Read to pounce on BO's statement in Berlin today when he said "America's not always been perfect..." I fully expect that little throwaway line to saturate all the media for the next 5 days.

here's to never being published!!!
Is there an Obama backer running the McCain campaign?? Whoelse would come up with the idea to see old McCain with another old guy?

Did the McCain camp not see the response to the McCain/Bush 41 photo op? I guess this is to show McCain as being worldly and diplomatic. He'll show that "cocky" Obama. This is just too funny.
Good!!!  Maybe the Dali Lami can explain to McBush what a aweful thing it was to invade a country that had not attacked you!  Maybe he can explain what it is like to flea or be killed if you practice a certain religion (as all the Catholics in Iraq have).  Hey folks, isn't that kinda what happened in Tibet?????

At least Saddham Hussien had catholics in his cabinet and they were free to worship when he was in power.  The very few catholics there are under great duress and most have been murdered since we entered Iraq.  The US promised to grant entry to catholics but have only granted less than 4,000 since the war began.

Maybe the Dali Lama can bring McShame to his knees.

Keep doing it the way you are doin' it McBush!!!
That should sure up his evangelical base.
What will Evangelicals think that McCain is meeting with a non-Christian religious leader?
Will this meeting be taking place in front of the cheese case?

Why does the media always fall into the trap of campaigning whining?  McCain complains, so lets follow him to Berlin, MO.
Will they meet in front of the local grocer's dairy case?

Will McCain offer the Dalai Lama some Velveeta, in the spirit of International peace and unity?
By the way, John has the refreshments covered, grandpa picked them up while he was at the supermarket yesterday.
Ok, so nobody covered McCain's Trip o' Gaffes, and now everyone is following every step of Barak's Excellent Adventure, so McCain now fels HE needs to posish his foreign policy creds. So he meets the Dalai Lama, shamelessly using him for a photo op.  Since the U.S. seems to be in the bad ot China, I wonder if McCain will mention China in this wonderful talk, or will he kowtow to China the way the business community and the msn do?
Maybe the Dalai Lama will tell McCain that he's not Vietnamese and McCain will cancel the trip
I say vote McCain just for the jokes. He is funnier than Bush. Why would they announce that now? It makes him look silly, like he's trying to compete with Obama's Germany speech. McCain needs to fire some people again.

Not to mention, it's like Ahmedinjad going to meet Oprah. Makes no sense.
That's very generous of the Dalai Lama. I do hope Mr. McCain can be receptive to his wisdom.
He's obviously pandering for the Buddist Vote...dont' think Richard Gere or Tina Turner can't be convinced to vote for him in any event.

Thanks for that - a picture IS worth a thousand words! :)
So, is McCain really going to say that he will fight for Tibet's independance?  Will he get some kind of blessing from the Dalai Lama?  I would hope that he would listen to the Dalai Lama and the words of peace.  Maybe this will start to calm him down.
McPricecheck - Thanks for the laugh! Love it!
This morning dem posters were attacked, by other commentors who called us angry Liberals.

I am angry. The loss of hundreds of thousands of dead, and broken human beings both American, and Iraqi because Bush, Cheney, and Rove et al lied to us makes anybody with a soul angry.

he thought it was a petting zoo to see the llama.
he will cancel like he did the rig visit. He said due to bad weather, but the weather is perfect and the forecast was the same.  Oh, there was a terrible oil spill in New Orleans that might have come up in his trip.
It is funny that McCain will meet with the Dali Lama, when his opponent, Barack Obama, never mentions the Dali Lama.  This isn't surprising considering Obama was reluctant to support Tibet during the primaries.  It was only after Hillary and McCain said they would consider boycotting the opening ceremonies to protest the treatment of Tibet when Obama said he would do the same.  Good Ol' both-ways-Obama.
