Convo watch: Will Richardson miss it?

Posted: Friday, July 25, 2008 9:06 AM by Mark Murray

Compiled by NBC/NJ's Matthew E. Berger
Bill Richardson could miss the DNC if a special session of the legislature runs late. “I'll stay here. This is my priority,” Richardson said at a news conference Thursday.

Makeup mogul Bobbi Brown -- and believe it or not, New Jersey delegate -- says New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine has asked Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi to come to the convention, but no word on whether they’ve accepted. Brown will also be available for touch ups. Seriously.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have taken their names off a housing industry reception at the conventions. A spokeswoman said the agencies will continue their financial commitment to the events.

Gov. Bill Richardson....What a guy!
He's probably staying in Congress, as the Dems do over holidays, to make sure Bush doesn't try to throw anything hinky through the recess---appointing people to high office no one wants, passing laws he can't get through Congress, declaring the Constitution to be an illegal Al Quaeda document, whatever---it's a crummy job, but someone's got to do it. Looks like Richardson is NOT going to be the choice for Veep, then.
Troopers are in the show....
Poopers are out selling tickets..

I'm Obamatized, are you...?
The country music section of the U.S. is stronger than the likes of Springsteen and those like him.
You'd better look to the Heartland if you want to win the presidency.
Richardson is being a responsible governor by finishing his work there first no matter if he is the VP pick or not.

In regards to Corzine asking Jersey natives to come to the convention (possibly perform as well?) seems like people who just would be there to promote the great state NJ (trust me it is better than all the jokes because I live here).  If these two do show up at the convention, what would they do there?  Fundraise for the party or Obama or even Corzine who is running for reelection?  I would hope that if Corzine does any fund raising that he do it here in the state.
