Obama camp goes up with response ad

From NBC's Mark Murray
The Obama campaign is responding to McCain's Britney-Paris-Obama ad with its own TV advertisement -- which calls McCain's attack "the same old politics," links McCain to Bush, and points out that news organization and fact-checkers have found falsehoods in past McCain ads.

The script:
Announcer: He's practicing the politics of the past.
John McCain.  His attacks on Barack Obama:
"not true"
"false"
"baloney"
"the low road"
"baseless."
John McCain. Same old politics.  Same failed policies.
Barack Obama supports a $1,000 middle class tax cut.
An energy plan that takes on oil companies, develops alternative fuels, and breaks the grip of foreign oil.
That's change we can believe in.
Obama: I'm Barack Obama and I approve this message.

Good to see he's fighting back WITH a positive message.

I would like to see those articles where those words come from.  If only to verify that they ARE taken in correct context.  Just to show McCain how its done.
I do believe I saw this add on an anti-Obama ad on youtube.Only the names were changed.Comon get original.
John McCain offers nothing but lies while he goes to bed with big oil, while Barack Obama offers hope with clear plans to do it.  Barack Obama for President of the United States of America.
wonderful advert. I love it. Obama for president. I loved how Rachel took Pat to task tonight. I cant wait to see how KO treats Dana when next they meet.  We are not taking this crap anymore.  I am pissed at Luda though. I thought he was a smart chap. He didnt think this one out.  Sorry for the different themes, but there is so much going on tonight. thats what happens when pop stars enter the political arena, I guess--they attack.
Misleading heck the McCain ads have been out and out lies.  Why can't the media tell the truth?  It seems as if everyone believes the new color this season is gray.  If it is a lie it is a lie, kinda like Dana Milbanks supposed quote from Obama that turned out to be second hand info and not even the complete quote.  Seems Dana got a little full of himself and wanted to complete his story line and needed something even if it wasn't accurate.  What has happened to you guys?  Maybe you should all touch bases with your college instructors and ask them to critique your performance so far you might end up at the bottom of your class like McCain.  Besides shouldn't the question be what is wrong with McCain?  Why can't he get above 42?  If he is the most experienced with 26 years of legislative experience why can't he get higher in the polls?  What's wrong with McCain not the other way around.  Here Obama is the first African American candidate trying to do something no one in history has done and he is being presumptious, he's not something enough.  What about freakin' McCain?  Geez, I'm really getting to the point the only show I'm gonna watch on MSNBC is Keith and Dan the rest of you guys stink.  You have lost all perspective of the american people and are stuck on yourselves and your storylines.

Yes!  That's what I want my money spent on!  Good Job Obama!  Senator Obama has every right and reason to have this ad up.  It makes sense and it is accurate!
I would play twice as much as the attack ad of mccain.
Anyone that critizes Obama is old time politics. He is such a whiner. He did the same thing to hillary. When is people going to get wise to Mr. Arrogance.
LOVE IT!
I would not call this ad negative, but if one must describe it as such, it is pretty damn classy.
I am Capt. Smash and I approve of Obama's message!
Good. It says what it needs to.
Nice... hit back hard on these lies from McSame.

-- And balance with a positive message of our own.

I approve this message, too.
Vets for Obama!
Stay on the high road, Sen. Obama.  It's a stark contrast to your opponent's negativity.
The Rethuglicans and the Bush Crime Family want to destroy the oceans, Alaska and the environment with pushing more use of fossil fuels.   All you have to do is go to any large city in the US and everyone is gagging from all the air pollution.  Just look at all the dirty air we breathe everyday.  The brown dirty air is worse then 2nd hand cigarette smoke.

The oil companies have a strangle hold on the government and its environmental polices.  I choose clean air over lower gas prices any day of the week.

Obama/Biden 08/12
This is sad. First McCain called Obama's health care plan "Hillarycare." Then he compared Obama to Britney Spear and Paris Hilton. I thought this is going to be a "respectful campaign focused on issues," as McCain once said. What has happened to the straight-talking McCain?
The Obama ad is presenting the truth - twice!
First, the McCain claims are: "not true . . .false . . . baloney . . . the low road and baseless."
Second, Obama will implement: "a $1000 middle class tax cut" and " an energy plan that takes on oil companies, develops alternative fuels, and breaks the grip of foreign oil" and "change."
Anyone that critizes Obama is old time politics. He is such a whiner. He did the same thing to hillary. When is people going to get wise to Mr. Arrogance.

So simple it's sad.  No one cares if you criticize Obama.  In fact, it is not only out right, but out duty to lock close and offer criticism.  And by that I ment the kind with will spark debate.

Not this garbage McCain puts out that is nothing but lies and belly aching. Hillary did the same thing.  it has been that way in washington for years.

If you have a well thought out criticism, then let's here it.  If you are going to sit there an whine because you can, then please...stfu :D
When he takes on the oil companies, I hope he starts with the state-owned ones before he decides to gut our own relatively small domestic companies.

Look out Hugo, Crown Prince Abdullah, Ahmadinejad and anyone else that can be called an Opecker.  Barack is gonna gitcha!
You Obama fans are so blinded by your faith that he is the "messiah" that you cannot see how his extreme socialism and how he is beholden to the far left could be disastrous for this country.  That's "real change," alright, but not the kind of change this country deserves.
MY INTERVIEW WITH JOHN MCSAME

Zrarieh: Senator McCain, what new ideas do you have to turn around our deteriorating economy?

John McCain: Obama is not ready to lead.

Zrarieh: Senator McCain, with our reputation badly damaged in the world, our security seriously compromised by a flawed foreign policy of the last 8 years. What would you do differently from George Bush?

John McCain: Senator Obama gave a speech in Germany. He met our troops in Iraq and Kuweit, but snubbed the troops in Germany.

Zrarieh: Senator McCain, why is a 72-year old man who ducked a question on viagra, so obsessed with Paris Hilton to the point of putting images of her in his campaign ad?

John McCain: Look, I know the issues very well. I know the economy more than Barack Obama. I remember things, ok? Maybe Barack Obama is an elitist, maybe he's a socialist, maybe he's patriotic. I don't know. But I want to run a positive negative campaign.

Zrarieh: Senator McCain, you have not answered the question.

John McCain: That's the point I was trying to make. You mentioned Paris Hilton. I wear a $520 shoe and no one treats me like a celebrity. Barack Obama still wears pants that are 10 years old and all of a sudden he's a fashion icon? Give me a Break?

Zrarieh: Senator, are you angry.... again?

John McCain: Are you?

Zrarieh: Nice talking to you, Senator.

John McCain: Whatever!
kick butt democrats, Mcsurge has nothing to offer America!
Next commercial from MCsurge will have cartoons for the kids, nothing like entertaining the massses.
Fight the smears!

On August 4th, 2008 Barack Obama will turn 47.
Let's wish him a happy birthday!

voter from Arizona likes McCain- not a surprise- he's as dumb as McCain  "When IS people..." Dumbya, McCain and voter from Arizona- dipshits.
I was so happy to see my campaign contributions to McCain going to worthy ads such as the Britney/Paris comparison. I wrote a note to McCain and asked him to use HelloKitty and PowerPuff girls in his next ad campaign. So glad to see my $$$ being used wisely, unlike the mature sophisticated ads that the Obama camp uses!
Whoo Hooooo

I guess we have another democrat in trouble.....

Who were those five hot women that were partying with John Kerry??????

And where was his wife????????

Republicans might get in trouble a lot these days
But Democrats know how to do it party style!!!!!!!!!!

What's the matter John????
Teresa just not woman enough anymore?????????
Mccain is a sad pathetic shell of the 2000 straight talk express...it is sad that he has so little to offer us that all he can do is try to scare us...oh boy
Some folks ought to quit complaining that not everybody is going to sit still while his campaign continues with the rock star/messiah bit. They ought not scream bloody murder when it gets pointed at that about all they're doing is setting him up to give cool speeches in front of adoring throngs-- instead of submitting to forums where live people ask questions and seek details.
OBAMA IN 2008!!!  MCCAIN IS TOO MUCH LIKE THAT CROOK BUSH. REPUBLICANS HAVE MESSED THIS COUNTRY UP FOR THE PAST 8 YEARS (ITS TIME FOR....C H A N G E !!!!!
When they show those pictures of a few men on an off-shore oil rig, why don’t they ever show huge crews in a photovoltaic plant and wind mill industry?

Jim Messina- New Port Richey, FL
Love it. Obama defends himself against McSurge and puts a positive message about his policies all in one ad. Hooray.

****************************

Not surprising that the people who "is" relating to McCain's constant mistakes and gaffes would "critize"  Obama by calling him a whiner and not take his policies to task
I love this message also, as I love Barack!  I just hope that our great country doesn't allow the color of his skin effect who has better policies.  The only people that like John McCain are the robots of society who listen to FOX NETWORK and are only concerned about themselves!!!

In this campaign, it's Obama talking about what he's going to positively do.

It's McCain talking about what Obama's going to negatively do.

McCain is not giving anybody any reason to vote for him.

This is pathetic!

Go Obama 08 / 12
When the McShame Camp puts out ads with LIES... Obama hits back with a COMPETENT AD.  Whoever runs McShame's camp should be shaking their head in shame for BULL Sh*t adds like the ones's they put out.  The McShame Camp is 8 years late.
Have any of you Obama lovers read any of his books? If you had you would understand him. He is a citizen of the world not the USA. We are evil people. He wants to tax us and give to the rest of the world. He will cost one trillion dollars over his first term. Nobody is allowed to critize him.
The important thing about McCain is that he is still fighting Vietnam. He thinks the way to secure American is to bomb the hell out of anyone who doesn't like us.
Wake up America! Obama has never lead anything. He's never been a county comm., town/city mayor or governor. He's never run his own business. Heck he obviously doesn't even run his own household. And I have yet to hear a single definite plan for anything. Same old political bull: "It's time for change"! That has been used since politics began. This man never really puts himself out there. He always says whatever the group he's talking to wants to hear and then says 'Oh that's not what I said' or 'Oh that's not what I meant'.  He charismatic and an excellent public speaker and he really loves himself. That doesn't make him a great leader. Hitler was charismatic and a great public speaker who really loved himself. See how that turned out.
Great Ad.  Obama has to fight back.  He is trying to be above the frey, but its hard when your opponent is knee deep in mud.  I wonder if anyone even takes McCain seriously anymore.  I have even lost respect for Kelly O.  She just seems so in the bag for McCain.  But that should come as no surprise since pretty much all of the media just gives McCain a free pass.  This morning on Morning Joe, every guest they had on was talking about Obama being too cocky.  Then they take a quote from Obama completely out of context and try to make him look even worse.  The best part is the quote they used to try and make an example out of, is actually Obama talking about how this isnt all about him.  But heck why would Joe want to actually research something that makes Obama look bad.  He would rather just run with it so he can bash Obama.  Also, everyone lay off of Mika.  I keep hearing about all of the vicious emails she keeps getting.  Cmon guys lets show a little class. We can disagree with people without being totally rude about it.
I have been waiting for Obama to fight back against these baseless attacks of McCain's campaign--I am worried though that they are kicking our butt on the oil debate. When gas is $4 a gallon, average Americans in the middle of the political debate want drilling and the prospect of more oil. I think it is the real fringe that is running this campaign to end our dependence on fossil fuels----if the fringe left takes control we will get rolled in November. I think Obama needs to find a way to get the best of both worlds by allowing drilling with certain limits.
I hope this is the first of many hard hitting ads.  McCain needs to be on the defensive with no time to attack Barack Obama.  When is the public going to learn of McCain's relationship to Keating and the Savings and Loan scandal?

Although Barack does an excellent job of hitting back, it's still a defensive posture and a weak position.  Let's put McCain on the defensive and turn the tables.
I still find it interesting that the only time Obama shows any sign of having any sort of "foreign policy"m turns out to be nothing but a dog and pony show.  Come on.  Where's the real evidence of his ability to represent America during these difficult times.  We are not the powerful nation we used to be.  I don't need a leader shaking hands and saying "Why can't we all just get along".  We need someone who will take a stand whether popular opinion backs him.  It's about keeping our country strong and safe from the radicals who see us as nothing but the "great satan".  Take off your birkenstocks and put on your combat boots and walk a mile in the shoes of our troops.  They need support not a political grandstand i.e. Obama shooting baskets and shaking hands with past (Tony Blair) and present foreign diplomats.  The McCain ad got it right....he's all about celebrity status.  I resent the fact that he refuses to plegde the alliegence to the flag or even wear a small flag pin.  Seems to me that shows he's still sitting on the fence when it comes to his real patriotism.  Shame on him!
I know this blog may not make it ...as it is late...let me try anyway:
------------------------------------------------------
There is one thing to notice that McCain goes over to the media networks and says something and then the media keeps playing them. On the other hand ...he goes into these town halls and flips or flops them ...how do we know that the folks are watching both clips and make sure that there is a flip-flop. Recently in the ABC News review he said that tax increases are NOT off the table and today he is in a town hall "Friends ...I will look into your eye ...will NOT raise any taxes"

This is a problem if these two (media + town hall) are NOT put together. Not just for Obama ...but for the voting public as well
------------------------------------------------------
If you cannot put this in the blog ...please fwd to my most trusted and liked news source - Countdown by KO - Thanks
Obama is the new Messiah and will save us from ourselves.j
I sit here and if i should even bother posting because obviously anything i say that is not complimentory of Osama will be removed. Id just like to know what change he plans on making and not just have him run off at the mouth saying what he thinks everyone wants to hear.
I cannot see how we can relate Bushs failed policies to McCains' "failed" policies. What policies specifically? How are they synonomous?A useless ad by McCAin, however I cannot even comment on Obama as his representations are flavor of the moment. People should really stop listening to the media, plug in their DVD players and conserve gasoline.Bart
we were republicans, but dubbya & slick dick cheney is just too much,a war , rotten economy,$4.75 gas, lies about weapons of mass destruction, sabre rattling against Iran, missiles on Russias border, housing collapse, failing financial institutions that have been looted by his friends. There`s no good news with this man at the helm,if he could hold the helm. Now McCain who`s only claim to fame is being shot down & imprisoned & wanting to be a democrat a few years ago.I think no one really wants the job at Pennsylvania avenue judging by who`s applying, not much there, even less with big John Mc-holy smokes batman,it,s the sign of the joker.
Great ad.
Hope this gets the same free air time.
Well, Mc Cain cannot talk about the issues so he tries to discredit Senator Obama. Shame on him for having  to resort to such low tactics. The U.S. A does not need another pseudo-intellectual in the White house. We need a leader who can think and address the issues that we are facing. John Mc Cain is destroying himself in the process, showing that he has no integrity to be the next President of the United States. He is really repugnant!
if obama wins we will all pay higher taxes  people need to wake up  whats wrong? with mcain anyway he is not bush
