The Democratic National Committee has released a Web video criticizing McCain for saying yesterday that he's proud of his campaign's Britney-Paris ad.

*** UPDATE *** In a political world where no charge goes unanswered, the folks at the RNC send over this "Celebrity quiz" that hits Obama.

That's because they're Masters Of Slime.
The ad is correct. Obama is nothing but a pop culture icon. He's as devoid of ideas to help this country as Britney and Paris are.
This is a good start but DNC still need to link it back to the economy and Bush
One could argue that the ad is a put down, but a put down to Britney. Unlike Obama, at least she has some talent and is mildly entertaining.
Obamabots: The race for the presidency has moved back into a statistical tie in the latest Gallup Poll Daily tracking update of national registered voters, with Barack Obama now ahead of John McCain by just one percentage point, 45% to 44%.

Hillary Democrats for McCain
NOBama
Smackdown!

Not as hard as I'd have liked; but go DNC!
Obama is just Paris and Britney. They're all famous just because the media likes to put their mugs on TV a lot.
Mccain is proud of his sleaze that slanders people?
mccain's campaign insulted Brittany and Paris as well as Senator Obama.

They are proud to insult others!  That sounds like mccain.
I'm not a McCain fan, but he should be proud of that ad.  It states the obvious, which is;  Just because Obama has celebrity apeal does NOT make him capable of being the President of the United States.

He has no experience or track record to prove that he can do the job!
I do not want what that commercial is selling!
Well Done......McCain it is time to talk about HOW YOU will make America better.....CAN YOU...SERIOUSLY....I DIDN'T think so!

OLD MAN YELLS AT CLOUDS AND BRIT!
McCain is no longer in control of his own compaign, his handlers are making all the decisions. McCain has to say he is proud of the work of his handlers. It's Friday, time for John to go to Sedona and take a nap. Its been a frantic week.  Overall, the week was a tie. Neither candidate gets an "up" arrow.
McCain's ad against Obama is resonating nicely to normal Americans. Obama is just as much a part of the Tinsel Town crowd as Spears and Hilton. Rubbing Obama's nose in it really makes America think about what type of president they want. If America wants a symbol that doesn't have any ideas, has no accomplishments, or no experience, then electing Obama wouldn't be much different then election Britney or Paris. Nothing would get done, but they sure would be fun(ny) to watch. If America wants a president that understands the issues, has experience, nows how to get things done, then they will not vote for Obama.
Imagine if you would, that Joe Biden were Obama's running mate....

He'd have snappy answers for the Republican smears !
He'd socke 'em in the nose !!

Obama needs a STRONG (Biden, Edwards), TOUGH TALKING(Biden, Edwards), VETTED and HONEST (sorry, Hillary) running mate

The SOONER the BETTER !!

and PLEASE !!
START TALKING ABOUT ECONOMIC ISSUES !!
BE SPECIFIC !!

Dont's get side tracked by Republican talking points

John McCain is SHRINKING every day
Every day he's getting a little dirtier, a little meaner, a little less 'Presidential'

Talk issues and he'll MELT

Obama/Biden '08

RIGHT ON, DNC!!! YOU JUST MADE MY WHOLE WEEKEND!
That commercial was D.U.M.B!  Talk about the issues Senator McCain. If I have to see commercials like that for the next 97 days I am gong to watch CSPAN!
Obama is a celebrity (not comparing him to either of these two blonde bimbo morons)  And to be honest, I think his celebrity status hurts him in some cases.

Hopefully both sides can get past this and focus on issues like the economy!
It's amazing to me that McCain could look that woman from the audience in the eye and tell her that he was PROUD of a commercial that equates Obama with 20-something pop/fashion stars.

To me, it's just a dumb ad. Reflecting a dumb campaign.
Good for the Dems!! Anyone who could be proud of that negative pice of crap is capable of beig proud of torture, holding people without habeas corpus, and waging endless trillion-dollar wars.
Golly, I sure want a guy with HIS judgement in the White House!
Sure he's proud of it! Once again when Sen. McCain had a chance to answer a question on the issues( if you believe his said ad had one)he avoided a chance to make an issue based answer. The voter deserved better. Take a lesson from Sen. Obama's response to overt heckling this am. (Of course MSNBC chose not to air the incident live. There were cute baby tigers to look at.)
The media elite sure don't like the ad. So, it must be true.
good come back!!! which proves john mccain is the real this!! real iddiott!!!!!
but the brittent ad to me injects race, how you may ask. well instead of having the real most popular the mccain camp chose 2 blond white women in there ad. why not choose Micheal jordan, or nelson mandella, or chris rock. he chose white women to piss off the kind of person that hates to see blacks and white on the same screen.
http://twocanpete.blogspot.com
The guy that doesn't know much about the economy doesn't know much about running a campaign either.
I love how a candidate who's only got negative ads out there claims to be outlining the differences between style and substance.  Is it possible that Obama has both style and substance?  Perhaps McCain just has dirty, gritty Republican politics as a substitute for anything of value on his own.
That makes just you and your campaign, both of which are disgusting at this point.  I have no more patience for rich white Republican men telling me to do with out while they keep getting richer.

Obama 08
Do you expect something good coming out of the RNC? They would be a republican bastard if they don't embrace their history of negativity.

Wake Up People!!!

Vote for Positive, Vote for Obama
I love this - taken from CNN just minutes ago: In a Thursday conference call with lawmakers and campaign strategists, National Republican Congressional Committee Chair Tom Cole argued candidates should steer clear of the party’s summer convention in Minneapolis, calling it a “waste of time” in a tough year when every day on the campaign trail counts.

HA!!!  The Chairman of the RNC is telling the Repub's up for re-election to stay away from the convention!

I love it!!!  He is also telling them not to hesitate critisizing their fellow republicans.

Let the internal blood bath begin!  Can't wait to see who disses who in the republican camp!!

The McSame campaign just makes it too easy.
YOU DEMOCRATS OUT THERE THAT KEEP "WHINING" ABOUT PETTY TABLOID COMMENTS, BETTER GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!

THE ONE THING THE REPUBLICANS KNOW ABOUT DEMS IS THAT THEY CUT EACH OTHER TO PIECES IN ORDER TO GET OUR OWN LITTLE AGENDAS MET.

YOU ALL LET THIS HAPPEN FOR THE LAST 8 YEARS.

THE RIGHT IS LAUGHING AT ALL OF US AND SAYING, "THIS ELECTION IS OURS. THE WHITES AND BLACKS WILL BE FIGHTING EACH OTHER THROUGH OUT THIS ELECTION. ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS SIT BACK AND WAIT...THE DEMS WILL IMPLODE ALL BY THEMSELVES"

IF I AND OTHER INTELLIGENT PEOPLE, HAVE TO SUFFER ANOTHER 8 YEARS OF HELL BECAUSE OF THE IN-FIGHTING BETWEEN CRAZY HILLARY VOTERS AND LEFT-WING CRAZIES. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WILL DO!

GET IT TOGETHER!!!
You know, if this president thing doesn't work out of Barack, he can always be a dancer in Britney's show, or be a part of Paris's posse. I'm certain Ludacris would show up somewhere. Maybe they could all do a rap video together.

Obama/08 and Beyond.
McCain is ridiculing all three of these Americans, given the fact that his intent is to diminish Senator Obama.

McCain has a pattern of misogyny.

-He chuckled when one of his female supporters called Senator Clinton a *b___h*.

-He joked that Hillary, and Janet Reno must be Chelsea's biological parents because she is so ugly.

-He mocked Senator Obama's healthcare policy 'HillaryCare', as if her name in, and of itself is repugnant.

-He has voted against women his entire career in the Senate. Just a couple of months ago he voted 'no' for women to have the right to sue their employers for discriminatory wage practices.

-He called his beautiful wife, who shares her wealth with him, has given birth to some of his children, works hard in her charities, and suppports him in his political career which she has no personal interest in; a *c--t*.

-McCain's depraved sense of humor finds the prospect of rape funny, and paints word pictures of women being raped by gorillas.

McCain will not get my vote.
McCain is proud of just how clever that Paris Hilton is.  You see, that ad is not directed at anyone who is reading First Read, or watching cable news, or even network news.  That ad is aimed at the voter for whom the ads and the coverage concerning them is just background noise that they don't really pay attention to.  Maybe they catch a glimpse of it on the TV that's on at the diner they stop in for their morning coffee.  Maybe they see it in their peripheral vision on their way to the fridge during the commercials.

And what do they come awy with - images: Obama, white women, was that Paris Hilton?  The word foreign next to his head.

The content of that ad is nothing but a cover for the real purpose - getting those images in the heads of the low attention voters.  The republicans know that they aren't getting votes from anyone who is actually paying attention.

Classic propaganda.
A web video?  How much exposure will that get?  How about a nationwide ad?  I know its costly, but would IMO in the end be worth it.
I have to add: These last few ads by McCain's campaign have inspired me to do more than respond on this blog...I have made another donation to Obama's campaign, signed up to be a voter registrar for my county, and made a point of asking people I meet if they have registered to vote.  They might not share my views, but I want everyone's voice to be heard!

I'm also going to call the Democratic headquarters here to find out how I can volunteer. We need Texas to be a blue state again--I've had enough of corrupt politicians (Tom Delay, John Cornyn, Bush, Gramm, etc.) who sully the name of Texas. Time for change!

I encourage all of you on here to do something real and constructive to support your candidate. I have good friends who differ greatly in their political views, and we've had some great discussions this year. DISCUSSIONS, not name-calling or mud-slinging.

Here's an inspiring music video from a Texas musician:

Jeeez.  Give me a friggin' break.  Both the DNC and the RNC are ridonkulous.

Let's talk about REAL issues.  War. Economy. Energy.

What is going on?

http://thepajamapundit.com/
It is sad that Britney is trying to reclaim her life and the McCain people are derailing her by dragging her center stage in the campaign. Doesn't this woman have enough troubles of her own? Is she running for president or is John McCain? John McCain should apologise.
SLAM! OUCH! :) He clearly lost that Lady's vote (but likely never had it to begin with.)
The McCain campaign and the RNC seem to confuse what a pop celebrity is and what a popular politician is.  It is amazing that a party that deifies Ronald Reagan (a legitimate pop celebrity before entering the political arena) does not see the hypocrisy of this charge.

It seems to me that mocking the popularity of the Democratic candidate only ends up serving two purposes.  The first is highlighting the envy and pettiness of the McCain campaign over not being as popular.  The second (and more important effect) is this ad insults the intelligence of Obama's supporters and only serves to motivate his supporters more.

Stay "classy" McCain, you are only helping Obama.
Oh, could this be...oh, it is...the DNC not talking about the issues.  Why do Obamabots always scream that McCain isn't talking about issues in his ads and that's what Americans care about.  How is this different?
What else could he say, we're really sorry we tried to denigrate Obama and  compare him with some crazy headline seaking super Paperozzi magnets? Even though Obama contiues to say that we should respect John McLazy's narative (hero, sufferer under tortue). Granted Obama has made his fare share of derogatory comments about McLazy's positions and what he is capable of, negatively. I sometimes wander if you guys know how to actualy report. Have a conversation or an editorial. I don't like it whe you guys give free air time to all these commercials for either side. They should have to pay for thier airtime. If you want to do a story on the content or it's positive or negative impact, fine. I have been impressed by David Gregory's thoughtful comments last night on this topic. Obama needs to get the narative back on McCain-Bush and the damage they have created. I think he needs to start putting some ads to that effect on the airwaves right away before this snowball becomes a landslide that he can't get stopped. Right now MvCrazy is just proving to the American people that he doesn't keep his word. But where is Obama pointing that out. He can do that without coming off mean or dirty like McCain. Just a straight forward statement about a man not keeping his word. Then he could site some examples of him doing that in other areas linked to the economy. Easy, without mud slinging, just the truth. There's plenty of it on record.

But Join McCain has the experience and track record to prove that HE CAN'T DO THE JOB. Who's borrowing who's ideas (Iraq for example).

Beth - very good! I agree everyone needs to donate more money to Obama AND start doing something! This past year I have been paying attention to all of it. I spend time talking to people, listening to them, try to educate a few. From day one, I started supporting Barack Obama - in the beginning was because he was new and unexperienced and I liked that idea. Now it is the man himself and how he has run his campaign and his issues. How he is gathering all these people for information and solutions. The media has been a huge disaster with no conscience what so ever. How do they sleep at night? Of course, they are the ones making over $200K and money always talks. Sad state of affairs going on in the good old USA.

Unless there are some bloggers here making up that 9% undecided and who have some common sense the numbers are not going to change dramtically. These posts are not going to change many minds. Most blogggers are already tied to a candidate emotionally so no matter what the other candidate does or does not do they will be against that person (most often for illegitimate reasons). Some bloggers in here are for a candidate for legitimate, factual resons based on the policies they propose and the philosophies they hold. I can respect those bloggers no matter who they support.

But McCain has hit his high points between 39 - 45. He can't get above 45 no matter wha the does. Obama fluctuates between 45 - 50. There is most likely a 3 - 4 % lead for Obama nation-wide. Mccain's attacks will not lower the number of Obama supporters. It might simply harden the position of those already against Obama but it will not move that 45 - 50 % support Obama already enjoys. The race will come down to that 9% undecided and on one or two States. At this time Obama leads in Michigan, PA, Ohio and Florida and just pulled even with McCain in Montana. A report out today shows the race in Arizona as too close to call as well. So if Mccain wants to continue his childish attacks so be it. Those bloggers here who support him can harden their dislike for Obama and continue to spill their garbage on this blog. But the fact is that Obama's support will not decrease below his current numbers, he will most likely pick up at least 1/2 of those 9% undecided, stay ahead in Michigan. PA, Ohio and Florida, and come November even though the race may be close Obama will more then likely pull out a victory. I'll bet Chuck Todd would agree.
The McCan't commercial shows just how tightly he is aligened with Bush. McCan't's chief of staff worked for both Karl("I don't care about your subpoena") Rove and Dick ("Get your face out of my gun") Cheney. It is time to unleash the Democratic 527s to show what a big phony McCan't is. He is politically dishonest and turns more contortions than the little Asian girl on "America's Got Talent". GOBama08.
Paris Hilton and Brittany Spears, are, to the best of my knowledge, American citizens whose opinions are every bit as valid as any I've read here.

Furthermore, for the greedy money worshippers to hold them up as what's wrong with the country is really sureal.
So, how many of you who claim Obama is an empty suit are constitutional law professors?  Leaders of community action boards?  State Legislators?  Senators?  Yeah, that's what I thought.
These ads are targeting not us, all the facts all the time people, people with a computer better know as bloggers, youtube lovers, email debaters..but the older, Bush crowd whoes only form of communication is the 12:00pm news and the 6:00pm news, you know the ones, the ones who runs his ads in a snipet lope...I live in one of those areas and all they see is the lies protrayed, but by the time they get the truth they are in bed or the stories are on. What I call it is Prime Time Slime Not Caught By MSM till Bed Time.

I bet they will never move Keith O to a 6:00pm.
Or what I would like to see is and Fact Check segment with the guys from that site..wow would that be someting. They are diggers like my media Hero Tim Russert was.
