From NBC's Jeannie Ohm
Despite some reports claiming that Vice President Dick Cheney would NOT appear at the Republican convention, Cheney's office just confirmed that he WILL attend and will speak.

Said Cheney's spokeswoman, Megan Mitchell: "The Vice President looks forward to participating in the Republican National Convention and continuing to work for the election of Sen. McCain and other Republican candidates in the coming months."

Mitchell says details are still being worked out regarding which night Cheney will speak.

*** UPDATE *** McCain's campaign has confirmed that Cheney will speak on the Monday of the convention, the same day that President Bush will speak.

McCain has got to be having indigestion by now.Maybe he can start drilling for oil at the convention hall.
Wow, he is going to attend?!  That means he won't be speaking from an undisclosed location.  How "great" is that?  It should be interesting how far off Cheney and Bush are from McCain; I doubt that will be.
After Cheney speaks, he'll turn into a bat and fly away
Maybe they'll have to move it to a larger venue.....I'm sure tens of thousands will want to hear him speak....NOT!
"So?"

Thank you and GOD BLESS AMERICA

i second those comments.....DEmotion carried!
Actually few people realize that Cheney will speak at the same time as Bush. The best part is when Cheney drinks a glass of water while Bush keeps talking.

By the way, don't get a fromt row seat. You might get hit with birdshot.
perhaps cheney is going to speak because of all the imcumbants who wont be attending. half are taking the advice not to attend and the other half may still be in the capitol putting on their dog and pony show!
These People are a bunch of LIERS...And if they LIE now they will Lie when they get into the White House...4 MORE YEARS OF THE SAME THING..I THINK NOT!

They should be ashame of themselves, with all the Lies surfacing to inclued Bush, Cheney, Rove, and other repulicans in this administration you would think they would want to stay true to the facts...But Nooooo, let's give the people 4 more years of the same...Lie to go to a war, and lie to get elected, forgery, special intrest/treatment for favors or gifts, just lie no matter what...I am really ashame of McCain, he is throwning his and our military veterans dignity under a Tank! He was respected for his service of this country now, that service means nothing and neither do we (the country), because he think we are ingnorant to the facts...But what is more shameful, is that he is targeting our elders, who only have the prime time news to rely on...MSNBC, you have to do something, some way our elders deserve better and the TRUTH! they are the ture Maveriks of Truth that gave our country it's foundation.
why is it you good republicans like corporate welfare and socialized financial markets but don't want to socialize anything that does not help the already wealthy? you guys want people to work alright, you just don't want the workers to get an honest day's pay for an honest days work, only the wealthy elite should have the luxury of healthcare and a dignified retirement, right?
My question is... will Republicans pad all sharp objects and/or tables... I'd highly recommend it if you intend on listening to McCoo-Coo give his acceptance speech!
So Deferment Dick is going to show up from his Undisclosed Location and give a lecture on democracy, secrecy, lying, closed-door meetings with his oil cronies, Iraqi's greeting American troops with open arms, WMD's, CIA report manipulation, scapegoating his buddy Libby to take the fall for his lies and leaks, endorsing and condoning torture - the list is endless.  He hates democracy and he hates open government.  He prefers the shadows and hiding behind a curtain.  He ought to be impeached and hauled off to jail.  Stand up there with McCain, Deferment Dick.  You represent all that is wrong with government and this corrupt Administration.  Showing up at the convention to make one of your nasty speeches will only further endure you to your narrow, anti-democratic, anti-American base. The majority of the country despises everything about you.
To the surprise of many Republicans, Cheney plans to quote the god Vishnu: “Now I have become death, the destroyer of worlds."
Hope the US Marshalls are there to arrest the lying VeepCreep.
