Biden: 'I'm not the guy'

Posted: Tuesday, August 19, 2008 5:02 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC/NJ's Mike Memoli
As Delaware Sen. Joe Biden left his home a few minutes ago, golf clubs in tow, he was asked where he was going to be on Saturday.

Biden replied, "Here" and pointed down to his driveway.

As he pulled out of the driveway in the driver's seat of his car he then said to the press gathered near his gate, "You guys have better things to do.  I'm not the guy."

SENATOR BIDEN WOULD BE A GOOD VICE PRESIDENT.  HE IS THE INSIDER AND OBAMA IS THE OUTSIDER, GOOD COMBINATION.  BIDEN COULD BE THE GUY WHO WOULD RIP THE REP. APART WHEN THEY TRY TO LIED, AND OBAMA COULD SPREAD HIS MESSAGE. WHAT A COMBINATION.  I HOPE BIDEN WOULD CONSIDERATE THE POSSITION.  BIDEN WE NEED YOU
Oh for God's sake... Any reporter who was lurking outside Biden's home is a walking endorsement for the Second Amendment. Any news organization who sent a reporter to Biden's home should be ashamed of itself. This is the time for insightful political reporters and commentators, the likes of which are becoming few and far between. It is NOT the time for paparazzi, nor is it time for an O.J. Simpson media circus. Show some damned humanity!

And Domenico (as well as Chuck and Mark): I hold First Read to a higher standard than most political blogs. But you guys are succumbing to tactics that aren't even worthy of the British tabloids. C'mon, guys! It's time for the adults to report the news!
I think it's Jim Webb. He may have said no, but I think Obama vetted him anyway.
Why???? Dammit Joe, take the damn job.
Possible scenarios:

1. Joe IS the guy, but mum's the word (can you say "Naked Bootleg?")
2. Joe's not the guy, but he'll be Secretary of State.
3.  Brace for a surprise announcement of Bill Richardson.  The guy has the foreign policy chops and is "outside Washington."
MSNBC has a webpage?

I didn't think they could afford one after the IMUS show left.
I think it's Jim Webb. He may have said no, but I think Obama vetted him anyway.
Maybe the real head fake is the entire list.  Al Gore is introducing Obama from the stage at Colorado.  Although it's a tad beneath Mr. Gore, if Al Gore was willing to help out Sen. Obama, could there be a better VP?
Keith Olbermann =Baghdag Bob.That is why I am not
watching Msnbc.
Too bad.

Know who'd drop the GOP? Richard Lugar.
I would love to see Senator Biden as VEEP.  He has  got the credentials, he connects well with the average guy. He's not boring, he smart, with Oboma and Biden nothing will be boring.  I think it's a great choice and the best choice.
Excuse me. Perhaps the majority of Americans did not oppose the war, but millions of us did. I didn’t care where agreement with my opinion came from. It was good to know there were Americans who saw Bush as pushing a dishonest agenda at the time. Whether Michael Moore at the Oscars, or Obama in Illinois, their voices of dissention did wonders for my soul. Speak for yourself. I neither need, nor want a bitter angry hater speaking for me.

Obama and his little supporters are such lightweights. What a crock that Obama "opposed" the war as a state senator from Chicago. His district is made up of aging hippies and academics so it sure wasn't hard for Obama to "oppose" the war. Obama has never stuck his neck out for anything, and won't do so if he ever made it to the White House. The man is weak, indecisive, naive, and those are his good points. donna, you can speak about your soul all you want, but what we need is a man that can lead the country, and that man certainly is not Obama.
That would be awesome if he is.  Who would McCain get?  Droopy dog Lieberman, Terror Alert Tom Ridge, Multiple Choice Mitt?  McCain has no chance.  He should go back to what he's good at.  Plagarizing POW stories, sleeping around, and beating his wife.

Would any mature dialog be too much to ask for?  How about an informed opinion.  Adding to the nonsense doesn't help anyone, and you're not very funny to boot.
It's Evan Blah. That will get everyone excited.
CLARK CLARK CLARK

McCain, release your official military records! Just try to use that "I know war" "I know how to win wars" BS again... CLARK knows how to win wars... he's WON one, and didn't lose thousands of US troops doing it, either.

You can't HAVE a better record than Clark's:

Clark graduated first in his 1966 class at the United States Military Academy at West Point and holds a master's degree in philosophy, politics, and economics from Oxford University, where he studied as a Rhodes scholar.

  1. Defense Distinguished Service Medal (five awards)
  2. Distinguished Service Medal (two awards)
  3. Silver Star
  4. Legion of Merit (four awards)
  5. Bronze Star Medal (two awards)
  6. Purple Heart
  7. Meritorious Service Medal (two awards)
  8. and the Army Commendation Medal (two awards)

Clark received more than 20 major military awards from foreign governments, including honorary knighthoods from the United Kingdom and the Netherlands as well as the title of Commander of the Legion of Honor from France.
Well, Nader is sounding better all the time...

Biden was Obama's best hope.
