OMG, Clinton as VP! LOL--just a txt hoax

Posted: Thursday, August 21, 2008 1:16 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC/NJ's Athena Jones
The latest hoax text purporting to be from the Obama campaign announces that he's chosen Hillary Clinton as his running mate.

Don't bet on it.

Obama spokesperson Jen Psaki scoffed that she had received a hoax text saying the Illinois Democrat had chosen Suri Cruise -- the much-photographed 2-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes -- but otherwise would not comment.

There's still no official word on when supporters (and reporters) can expect to receive Obama's real veep announcement.

I thought Obama didn't want drama.  Hasn't he milked this thing a bit too long by now?  Make the announcement for crying out loud.
See what a little media hype will do....

Traditionally, candidates have waitined UNTIL the conventions to select their VPs

It brought some 'drama' to the boring conventions

Just pick Biden and everything will be OK
Fellow Americans- Don't be weary, at times it may seem that John McCain's negative ads and blatant lies does harm to Barack Obama.

It may appear that the media are not giving us any of the positive news that Barack Obama generates - but only the negative condemnation and fabricated lies by the GOP.

It may appear Barack Obama is too nice and he is not fighting as hard as we wish.  Because, we are angry that John McCain has stooped to levels below any deceit human being.

But, should we ask Barack Obama to do the same?  Should we ask him to step out of his comfort zone and be a total a$$hole like McCain and began to spread lies about him.

Should we ask Barack Obama to shame John McCain's reputation and his service to our country?  Because John McCain has lost his way and refuse to do the same for Barack Obama..

To me and many others it may appear that Barack Obama is fighting either by himself or not hard enough.

That will change - once the VEEP is selected...we will have double the strength to defeat John McCain.

Because right now John McCain is using all of his ammo and he will run out of negative things and lies and when he does...

Barack Obama and his running mate (whoever it will be) will stomp John McCain like the coach roach he is.

SO my fellow Americas - don't be discouraged and have faith in the one person you know - will do well for our country.

Support him – We must continue the fight for Barack Obama and the Democratic Party – We must not let the Media control our movement and our motivation.

We must continue to donate money, time effort and give advice to our nominee – we must talk to people that are still not sure and explained to them why it is important that a Democrat be President.

We must continue to challenge the Media and our Federal, State and local Government official  in making sure – ballots are available at the booth and the automated machine are inspected or if not “we the people” be giving another way to cast our vote.

We must send Barack Obama word of encouragement.  This is a hard time for him and he needs us just as much as we need him.

Thank you and GOD BLESS AMERICA

Let's stop with VP talk...I am way more interested in the McCain camps response to yesterday's agreement by McCain regarding reinstating the draft.
I am one mother who is not letting this statement pass...First Read shouldn't either!
I don't mind a little drama; it's flat-out HORROR I'd like to avoid. Please stop hoaxing before someone has a heart attack.
===Obama spokesperson Jen Psaki scoffed that she had received a hoax text saying the Illinois Democrat had chosen Suri Cruise -- the much-photographed 2-year-old daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes===

This is not surprising. Suri is young, but she has the mindset of a good liberal. She crys and whines a lot, pouts when she doesn't get her way, and expects others to take care of her every need. The perfect little liberal.
Good choice picking Suri. Celebrities like Suri and Obama tend to stick together. Next, Hanna Montana will be in the running for SecOfState.
Athena, that was cold.
Stop the VEEP  drama and examine McLame.

McCain the real elitist?

The whole eve was full of lies and sound bites and The MSM says McNasty had a good eve???
Jack Caferty was the only one with the cojones to speak the TRUTH.

McNasty will say anything like cross in dirt??
Oh Wait, he used that as well from another story..

Time for MSNBC to look back at all his so called stories and se how they have become TALL TALES
...and heart attacks happened everywhere.
By the way-in regard to the 'gotcha' questions about how many homes the McCains own:  have any of you eve heard the term 'blind trust'?  The McCains own four homes for their own use; Senator McCain knew that.  However, they do own investment real estate-that was the number the Senator did not know-nor should he.  A blind trust handles senior elected officials' investments, to protect them from conflict of interest when they are voting on bills.  Unfortunately, the Obama supporters are too uneducated to know that, or to care.  They also don't care that Obama paid $500 for a half million dollar piece of property to a CONVICTED FELON, (Rezko), because, well, because, Obama makes them feel good.  Good Grief.
Oh thank you!!!! DEMOCRAT SOLDIER, I needed that
See Dems, this is the kind hoaky bs you can expect with Obama as your president. Anything to get attention from the 'It's all about me' candidate. And you all gave up your cell phone numbers to him for this garbage - pity.
Aren't junior high school games and playing "The Queen of Telecom Trickery" both BENEATH his pay grade?
No way HRC's Veep...  If Obama made such a move, it would be the Clinton Convention, not the Obama Convention.  If that were the case, we'd have three - count 'em, three! - nights of Clinton:  Tuesday, the HRC extravaganza; Wednesday, Bill, then Hill; Thursday, appearing with Obama at INVESCO Field.  Were Obama to let that happen, I'd be seriously questioning his judgment.
It ain't official until you see the words, "Wesley Clark".
OMG, there are some things one shouldn't joke about!! I wish that the Clintons would become Independents. After all, they are doing everything possible to undermine Obama. Someone who flagrantly puts self-interest above that of country scares the heck out of me. No Hill or Bill!!
Picking Hill would really make him look weak and desperate! But I know the GOP would love it!

Jen,MI,
I too heard this yesterday, and it scares me more than anything! How many wars do McCain want to fight?  The Iraq war was a lie!! And now people are considering putting a man in office that only believes in war!!
Amen Jen!  I want to see ads with 'mccain reinstates draft' running 24/7 and factcheck.org will have to say "yes" mccain did say he agreed with the statement made by the questioner about the draft.
John Mccain, you can throw you sons lives at the feet of oil, but you will not have my son!
Clinton is the strongest of all the candidates and is the best bet for the Party.
The fact is:  She garnered more registered Democrat votes than did Obama!
I whole heartily agree with The - Democrat Soldier.  We don't want Barack Obama to stoop to McCain's level.  What this country needs is for all democrats to unite together to repair this country from the damage done by the republicans.  Let's unite together and stand behind the man who will get this country back where it belongs!

Thank you Barack Obama for giving us hope!
First Read, hit McCain on his draft remarks. This should be scary to anybody with kids.

He said he agreed the draft could be reinstated, not for some radical end of world scenario, but for the hunt for Bin Laden, which he has vowed to take to the gates of Hell (but not Pakistan).

http://www.rodneyhopper.com
I think it is funny that people are getting upset with Senator Obama for not announcing his VP yet.

We will know in 3 days or less - lets stay focused on the real issues - like McCain agreeing that we need a DRAFT and not knowing how many houses he has!

This is AMERICANS versus the CORPORATIONS - and if we don't stick together, the corporations are going to win - again!

Do you really want to sit through another senate hearing with a bunch of oil executives telling us that they aren't making any money on gas? 'Cause that's what you're gonna get if you let those greedy SOBs pick your next President again.

Of course, you'll have your made in China American flag pin to ease the pain, right?
Who cares except she better be white and female or I'm voting for Mccain.
no matte who he picks.. CHANGE will be induced for this country the day after the election.. no one can stop the voices of millions of people calling for change
Democratic Soldier, I agree completely. But I'm reading through the lines here - "knows his place" "ambitious" - key words like that. I'm of the opinion that there are millions of people in this country & media who want Senator Obama to behave as Jackie Robinson promised to do in the 1940's. That's how ignorant we are as a country in many areas, including my own.

He's up against a 72 year old POW and I wonder if Senator Obama just doesn't want to punch Sen. McCain in the gut. He has plenty of ammunition to go on.

Let's just wait and see how nasty the GOP gets.
Well, has anyone thought that Obama himself is still having a hard time making the decision on who would be the best number 2, and, politically thinkg, who would give him the best chance for a needed bump in the polls after sliding in the polls a little?  To change insider Washington, you first have to get to Washington, and unfortunately that means getting into politics and paying attention to the numbers.
And I'm sure all this build-up to get more people interested, like a long movie trailer for a blockbuster movie that still won't be released for months.  Let's just hope his choice lives up to the hype and we're not as disappointed as many were with "Star Wars: Episode One."  Yes, politics AND a Star Wars slam...I did just go there!
Now this is getting just plain ridiculous. Obama is fighting the 'celebrity' label, but everything he does feeds that notion. There is a certainly lack of seriousness to this man. He acts more like he's on American Idol rather then running for president.
Scared the crap out of me. I was about to admit that I wouldn't be voting this cycle! Thank god it was just a hoax! That woman is the devil! If he lowers himself that much I am not voting.
Jen, MI:

Regarding the draft issue.  After reading the entire text of the question, which rambled over multiple topics over 4 column inches of space I've concluded that you only see or hear the last sentence and John McCain did not actually hear the last sentence.

Aside from that, even Barack Obama would not ever rule out the possibility of a draft.  I'd like to see someone ask him the question.  Odds are his answer would be much like his most recent answers regarding Iran.  "All options are on the table." (Did anyone accuse Obama of plagiarizing George Bush on that one?)

If we use your standards for interpretation, then we can assume that Obama would institute a draft if necessary and possibly even nuke Iran.

Of course it's not as simple as that.  But then, some people insist on being simple.
The important thing about McCain's draft statement is that we wouldn't have to consider a draft if it weren't for the absolutely disasterous decision (supported by John McCain) to divert attention from the true perpetrators of Sept. 11th and enter into the imperialistic foray into Iraq.  This Bush/John McCain decision not only committed our troops to an immoral and wasteful effort, sacrificing precious American and Iraqi lives, as well as time and money, but it stretched our armed forces to the breaking point and bankrupted the nation.  Now we have a dollar worth 55% of what it was in 2000 and gas that is 3x the price.  Is this the judgment we want to continue with in the White House?  I think not.  Man, if we elect John McCain to the presidency than this country really has its head up its ***.
Obama '08
Obama has chosen the Dark Lord as his running mate.
draft here draft now, drill here drill there drill now
it yours call
This is becoming so Junior High Schoolish I think I am going to barf....that being said...if he doesn't pick Hillary he doesn't have a chance.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/08/21/in-red-state-alaska-dem-s_n_120362.html

TAKE A CUE FROM A FELLOW DEM OBAMA
BLAST MCCAIN EVERYDAY ON EVERYTHING
ENOUGH WITH THE NICE GUY STUFF. WE WANT TO WIN
And if it means Clinton then DO IT
idk, my bff Hillary?
I have it on authority.....the GOP is deathly afraid of having Hillary Clinton on the Dem Ticket, because they know they can't beat her.  She is the only one who can deliver the White House to Obama.
Why is no one reporting on McCain's statement about being open to the draft?  What is he paying these networks to get such preferencial treatment?
