Obama's made up his mind

Posted: Thursday, August 21, 2008 3:55 PM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
Obama
answered "Yes" when a reporter from USA Today asked if he'd made up his mind on his VP choice. He didn't say who, and he demurred when asked if he'd told the individual.

"Uh, that's all I'm going to comment on," he said, according to audio on USA Today's Web site.

Earlier today, Obama campaigned with thought-to-be veep finalist Tim Kaine in Virginia. He also met with him beforehand.

Today, Joe Biden is back to silence.

And nary a mention in the news today of Evan Bayh.

*** UPDATE *** Later, while in Virginia, Obama said, "I did say that I've made the selection and that's all you're going to get."

He wants to 'raise taxes on the rich', but his definition of 'rich' is the change you can believe in.  He offers 'hope' for an energy solution that relies on a mystical change for some unknown, yet-to-be-discovered 'alternative'.  However, he does know how to make his supporters swoon.  Those of us who can think will be voting for McCain.

Infirm, ineffectual drivel. Jealous much?
He did that long time ago
This is silly.
If its not Hillary, I am not voting Obama!
its going to be clark.  He represents "change" and has all the military experience necessary to counter McNoodles!

He will also bring Arkansas into play.

Remember... the theme for the VPs speech centers around one of Clarke's PAC websites.
Obama said he has chosen someone that is ready to be president and that will help him straighten the economy.
It ain't Biden... The only VP choice for the economy is Hillary Clinton.
I think it's Clark...
Haven't heard anything from Hillary in quite some time, either.........Maybe, just maybe, SHE'S THE ONE!
Oh, the suspense is just too much. What are we going to do? How long do we have to wait? I'm sitting here staring at my cell phone. When will the message come? Will it come today, tomorrow? When? How can anyone work with all this excitment? Tingles are going up and down my legs. This is so exicting.
And Hillary Clinton continues to campaign for Obama...........
I heard my 'Windows Live Messenger' ding while I was out of the room. I thought it might be 'THE ANNOUNCEMENT'. Nope. Not yet. (I didn't want to pay the standard text messaging rate, but I thought, 'since I've donated a ton to Obama, and the DNC, they might e-mail folks who have given over a certain amount). Funny huh?
Oh boy - I hope this will be a winner. G-D only knows Obama needs it. So he is set to make the announcement Fri. evening and have he/she appear on the stump with him on Sat. Nice move though - have to admit it's a smart move because most of the naysayers will be off for the weekend and come Monday pumped up for the convention - not much time to tear down the choice, which of course you know they will. Yeah smart move.
CLARK CLARK CLARK!
I think it IS Clinton. He said someone who would "challenge" him in the White House and who would strengthen the economy.  It's got to be. Not to mention Clinton has been flying under the radar lately.  Way under if you ask me.
OMG! When I saw this, I had to breath into a paper bag so I wouldn't hyperventilate. This is sooo exciting! Aren't you all excited??
The only VP choice for the economy is Hillary Clinton.

++++++++++++++++++++++++

If HRC is such a great economist, why is she so deep in debt?
Is this a big surprise?  He'll announce on Saturday at his rally.  I would love to see multiple people there that are on the would be VP list for Obama just to confuse them.

All Reasonable Democrats -- Is that really a reasonable thing to talk about?  If Clinton is supporting Obama, why wouldn't you?  Compare Clinton and McCain and you will find that Clinton is closer to Obama.
Real Dem is a real fake.  Let's cut the lies -- Obama cuts taxes on everyone making under $250,000 a year, raises them for everyone over that.  His energy plan doesn't depend on drilling for oil that will take 10 years to get out of the ground, it will start saving oil right now.  Let's get to brass tacks ... lots of people voting for McCain are doing so because they fear Obama will only help out black people.  You are Kanye West in reverse and you aren't a Real Dem, you're a real racist.
And when Obama spun the spinner, it stopped on who?
It's WEBB of Virginia!!!  Jim Webb!!  He said he wasn't interested but I think he was vetted anyway.
Barack has made up his mind concerning his VP.

Do I call them Heckle & Jeckle? Ruff & Ready?
Chip & Dale? Ebony & Ivory?

Yes, that's the one. Ebony and Ivory will solve all your problems  .. and America's too.

"If its not Hillary, I'm not voting Obama"-- are you kidding???  A Draft, tax breaks for the rich, off shore drilling as an energy policy, war, war and more war!!!  Hillary would be ashamed of you!!!
Wesley Clark, folks.  Wesley Clark.
I hope Obama picked someone that has more accomplishments then he has. I know, that means it could be anybody.

Yes, just look at the debt in her campaign. Her supporters are so enamored with her, they wouldn't even help her pay off the debt. Instead, they blamed Obama supporters. Typical.

It's Bayh for VP.

Biden is a smoke screen and will end up in Obama's cabinet as Sec'y of State.

Okay  this has been a fun day for all... Chuck and Co. included, I'm sure. We've had lots of yucks with the nonstop VP watch, some of the funniest responses yet, but some of us have a life...got to feed the kids and go to work.
Text me Chuck when you find out who that VP is and....when you get that response from the McCain campaign regarding reinstating the draft and... when that final count comes in on how many houses McCain has.
I'll be waiting by my cell phone.
Sounds like Obama is done taking hits off his bong and has made his choice.
Would anyone on this blog be more likely to vote for Obama if Bayh was the VP. I am from Indiana and i think they would for the chance to have someone from Indiana in the white house. What do the rest of you think?
FR - when will you guys stop putting your "Hillary" comments on the blog.

Anyone with any sense - know this is not an actual blogger - but you guys trying to stir and cause trouble.

Enough already

Thank you and GOD BLESS AMERICA
It's Col. Clark

He is the one person who can attack McWar and bring to light just because you landed in a POW camp doesn't mean you deserve to be president!

McWar equals reinstatement of THE DRAFT!

Obama 08
I bet we'll find out tomorrow.
You're NOT reasonable if you're going to stab your party in the back because your candidate didn't win.

Grow up.
Love how the only other comments on this thread came within 3 minutes of each other roughly 10 minutes ago. You're trolling the wrong website losers
The only part I don't like, is Obama made it sound like he is struggling to make ends meet. They made over 4 million last year. I highly doubt Obama is in trouble financially. 4 millions, which brings up a great point. McCain only made roughly half a million last year, his wife made 6 million. Not all that much higher than the Obama's. Granted, the McCains have hundreds of millions in assets. Still, It is a bit misleading and I don't like that.

Adam, I did a double take too, but when I reread the passage, that was not what he was sayig at all.

It's good to have you as a friend, and ally.
This is such a thrill, so much so, that I peed myself.
Excuse me but most thinking individuals will be voting for Obama.  Most non thinkers will vote for that old guy.
When will Obama come down from Mt. Sinai and announce to the world who this mighty VP candidate is?
Drag it on a little more Obama.
Don't blame the press for acting like kids or watching every move that Biden or the other VP candidates make. We bloggers who post here on a regular basis are not any less political junkies as members of the press. They report/write it, you read it, then comment about it. If we were not as bad as them we wouldn't be on this sight reading and commenting regularly. Don't reply by stating speak for yourself. Come on, admit it. You guys are political junkies and love the drama. It's what gets you up in the morning. It's also another reason why some want Biden. Can you imagine waking each morning to see and hear what Biden has to say about Mccain and the republicans as Obama's running mate. There will be nothing boring about it.
The press should have asked if his choice accepted or not. They might have had more important things to do.
not going to be hillary thats for sure.
Right Real Dem. I'd rather swoon from love, than be blinded by hate.
Any democrat that votes for McCain is a traitor or just plain stupid.

This is just ridiculous.  Quit being such a drama queen, Barry, the world is waiting to see who will be on the losing ticket in the fall.
Why would Clinton backers want her to be VP? If she's as strong and capable as they believe, why put her in a position where she is giving up her power? She would be better off staying in the Senate and having Obama put her up for the Supreme Court. Not voting for Obama because Clinton lost the primary would could cost this country the next 4 years.

OBAMA 08
I wonder how many of McCain's homes would fit inside John "Two Americas) Edwards' 29,000 square foot single family dwelling.
all reasonable democrats=
You dont speak for me or any of the other democrats that will send Obama to the Whitehouse in Janurary.

Any democrat that dosent vote or that would vote for
McCain is not reasonable. I think thats a oxymoron ??

I am a proud supporter of Obama

old white woman in s.c.
What a joke...MSNBC current headlines are about McCain's position in the Great Lakes but FAILS to headline McCain's "oops" statement of not knowing how many homes he owns.  Fair and biased...I think not.  Not to mention McCain's new position on re-instituting the draft.  If Obama had made these statements...How would CNBC present?  Ridiculous!
Hillary, Schmillary....
