First thoughts: Hillary delivers

From Chuck Todd, Mark Murray, and Domenico Montanaro
DENVER, Colo. -- With a backdrop of PUMAs on the prowl here, Clinton donors upset they’re not staying at the Ritz-Carlton (as the New York Times wrote), and word that Bill Clinton won’t attend Obama’s speech tomorrow night, Hillary Clinton last night delivered on two fronts: 1) she gave a full-throated endorsement of Obama, and 2) she made it clear to her troops that voting for McCain was unacceptable. “No way. No how. No McCain,” she said. As some Hillary watchers told us, it was her finest speech. It was an impressive balance of anti-McCain sound bites and the case for the Democratic way of governing. She really did strike a Goldilocks balance of preserving her own political future and being for Obama. Yet even better than her speech were the pictures on TV. For all the tension and hard feelings that exist here in Denver, you couldn’t tell when you watched her speech. It looked like a unified party. To be sure, last night’s speech won’t end some of the tension and hard feelings. But both ObamaNation and Hillaryland got what they wanted out of last night’s speech. (PUMAs, for those that don't know, are the "Party Unity My A--" crowd -- ardent Hillary backers, refusing to vote for Obama.)

VIDEO: Clinton urges her supporters to back Obama. NBC's David Gregory Reports.

*** When your staff doesn’t do you any favors: All that said, who in Hillaryland thought it was a good idea to step on the best speech of her political career by giving blind quotes about a future presidential campaign? She got tremendous accolades from Team Obama, but some Clinton staffer had to spill beans about the speech's motivation to the New York Times. “Mrs. Clinton is almost certain to run for president in 2012 if Mr. Obama fails this time, several Clinton advisers said Tuesday, and any such plan could possibly founder if the Clintons’ negative feelings show through this year.” It's actually a good example of how no good deed goes unpunished by her staff, and it’s another reminder of how undisciplined her campaign would be right now had she won the Dem nomination. It's no wonder there's so little trust between the candidates when staff  -- particularly hers, in this case -- undermines her unity efforts.

VIDEO: NBC's Andrea Mitchell and Chuck Todd weign in on Clinton's DNC speech and her husband's upcoming speech.

*** Just askin’: Did anyone else notice those “Hillary” signs that had the “hillaryclinton.com” address at the bottom? Always be debt retiring! Indeed, immediately after her speech, her folks sent out an email to contribute money.

*** The gloves come off: After last night’s round of speeches, we don’t think anyone is now going to wonder whether the Democratic convention is going too soft on McCain. In speech after speech, Democrats unloaded on the Arizona senator. They brought up his multiple houses, pointed out that he has said he doesn’t understand the economy, and (of course) tied him to President Bush at every opportunity. Beyond those attacks, though, they hit him hard in two ways that could end up proving especially damaging -- because McCain’s campaign doesn’t seem to have a clear response to them. The first was Mark Warner’s future-vs.-the past hit. “The race for the future is on,” he said, “And it won't be won with a president who is stuck in the past.” The McCain camp issued this tepid response to defend a candidate who admits he’s not a big computer user: “Whether it’s been rooting out corruption in politics, fighting global climate change or calling for a new strategy in Iraq John McCain has a record of making bipartisan change, and Barack Obama does not.” The second hard hit came with this line by Hillary: “[McCain] still thinks it's okay when women don't earn equal pay for equal work.” How does a candidate losing women by double digits respond? We’ll find out next week…

*** Schweitzer’s stem-winders: By the way, last night's keynote was supposed to be Mark Warner, but the governor with unlimited ambition who lit up the hall was Montana's Brian Schweitzer. Who knew he could give the rah-rah stem-winder? While he didn't get much attention from the networks, he was on in the 10:00 pm hour, and he got the crowd so worked up, the anchors had to take notice. One of the few surprises so far…

*** Biden's big moment: Now we turn to tonight’s program… Before last Thursday, it appeared Joe Biden would never get a moment like this. He wanted it, ran for president twice to get it, but it seemed the dream was going to die. And then, Obama gave Biden political redemption. The Delaware senator has been preparing for this moment for half his life. He's been a senator for more than half his life. As he likes to point out, he was the Obama of the '88 campaign. Biden may have the unenviable task of having to follow Bill Clinton tonight, but if anyone is up to the task, it's him. Ask any union member about Biden's ability to bring down a house. He's got it in him; let's see if he can pull it off.

*** Elvis is in the building: We swear that tonight's featured speech is Joe Biden, seriously, it is. But it's not the speech that's getting the early buzz -- that belongs to the anticipated remarks of Bill Clinton. What will he say? How will he say it? Will he make an Obama pitch or a generic argument for the Democratic way of governing? Our sense: Bill's a competitive guy, he wants to show Obama why he'd be an asset and why he might be better suited at making the case against McCain.  The one thing that would surprise us: If someone ends up describing the speech as unremarkable.

VIDEO: Romney appears on Morning Joe, handicapping Biden as a VP contender.

*** No rest for the weary: Politico reports that McCain’s pick is coming Friday, and the CW is back pointing in Romney's direction, who happens to be in Denver. He was pretty solid today on Morning Joe, talking up the need for McCain to carry Michigan. He sounded like a guy ready for the call.

*** A good day for the DSCC, a bad day (maybe) for the DCCC: Alaska held its primaries last night, offering the possibility that the state’s longest-serving Republicans -- Ted Stevens and Don Young, both whom face legal/ethical troubles -- could go down to defeat. Well, it turns out that one may. Per the Anchorage Daily News, Young trails GOP challenger Sean Parnell by fewer than 200 votes. A Parnell win would complicate the Democrats’ chances of winning the seat. Somewhat surprisingly, however, Stevens -- who is indicted and faces a trial on corruption charges in the fall -- easily won his primary. And that’s good news for Democratic challenger Mark Begich, who now seems even more in the driver’s seat in that contest. [***UPDATE*** Young is actually now ahead by 145 votes with 429 of 438 precincts reporting. Democrats are gearing up either way, believing that Parnell's inability to pull away from a candidate under investigation by the FBI, signifies, one strategist said, "the more Alaskans saw of Parnell, the less they liked him."]

*** Today’s convention schedule: Wednesday’s theme is Securing America’s Future (a focus on foreign affairs, as well as a tribute to veterans, active duty military, and military families). The marquee speakers are Bill Clinton and Joe Biden. Also speaking: Sen. Evan Bayh, Sen. Jack Reed, former Sen. Tom Daschle, Sen. John Kerry, Gov. Bill Richardson, Rep. Chet Edwards, and ex-congressional candidate Tammy Duckworth. Also, the formal roll-call vote takes place in the afternoon.

*** The RNC’s response: Rudy Giuliani, former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele, and former Treasury Secretary Rosario Marin hold a press conference in Denver to rebut the Democrats on the issue of national security.

*** Also in Denver: Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer and Dem Senate candidates hold a press conference at 1:15 pm ET at the Colorado Convention Center to discuss the upcoming Senate races, 1:15 pm ET... Officials with the Western Majority Project discuss energy issues at 4:30 pm ET at the Colorado Convention Center.

*** On the trail: McCain is in Arizona, where he does some filming for his campaign. Obama holds a discussion with military families in Billings, MT.

Countdown to GOP convention: 5 days
Countdown to Election Day 2008: 69 days
Countdown to Inauguration Day 2009: 146 days

Second night thoughts

I get the feeling we are being funneled into Barack’s acceptance speech.  He has been given a huge relay baton to carry forward by Michelle, Mark Warner and Hillary.  Nothing has ever surprised me by how capable he is to meet the challenge.

Gov. Schwietzer of Montana was fabulous.  His remarks left everyone in stitches, and he was a good lead for Hillary.

Hillary should be proud.  She could not have been any better.  Good for her.  Probably the most compelling comment I have ever heard “did you just vote for me.”

Mark Warner had a significant line when he said W failed to capture and challenge our potential as a nation.

It will be a busy night tonight.  I wish I knew the lineup.  I better get the DVR set.

When too much talking and pontificating is going on, I switch to PBS for live speeches.  Do you?
Young's now up by 150 with nine precincts to count, we're crossing our fingers he holds on...
When tv & radio commentators spent months & months attacking Michelle Obama with their endless ignorant racism, of course Mrs. Obama had to re-introduce herself. Monday night was the perfect night to do it. And if you had any kind of an open mind, you would come to the conclusion that she was outstanding. And a lovely, lovely person.

We have 2 choices. We can watch hours & hours of speeches (which after a while gets to be boring) OR we can listen to commentary. C-Span has non-stop coverage of the speeches, for anyone who prefers to hear them.

I thought Senator Clinton did an outstanding job last night.

This is what I have learned this week from the commentators - the male Catholics aren't going to vote for Senator Obama because of affirmative action. The females aren't going to vote for Senator Obama because he's not a woman. Lovely.

These people are NOT democrats. Neither are 90% of the pundits you listen to on tv. That much is obvious. Don’t listen to them. Turn them off.

They do not have the best interest of the country in mind. They just want to cause trouble within the Democratic Party. They are not worth 2 minutes of our time.
Time to suck it up and work for Obama:

Democrats for McCain '08'

HILLARY in 2012!!!!!
I'm more convinced now than ever, after watching Warner and Hillary, that wrong person was nominated.

Obama is behind in the polls.
Obama's VP pick gave him no polls bump.

Democrats did it again...chosing a losing candidate.

Hillary/Warner 2012!
Once again First Read:  Intelligent people do not watch Moron Joe.

And congratulations to Senator Clinton for an excellent speech. Does this mean that MSNBC can move past the the invented drama between the campaigns.

It's actually a good example of how no good deed goes unpunished by her staff, and it’s another reminder of how undisciplined her campaign would be right now had she won the Dem nomination. It's no wonder there's so little trust between the candidates when staff  -- particularly hers, in this case -- undermines her unity efforts.
****************************************************

Yeah, that sucks.  I almost feel bad for Hillary because I think she is genuinely trying to achieve party unity, regardless of her future ambitions.

http://thepajamapundit.com/
The Dems say the same thing every time.."we need change and healthcare"..blah blah. We do need change but we don't need socialism..we dont need the gov fixing everything for us and we dont need small business getting killed by big government Liberals. I'm glad and confident at the end the day the country's fate won't be in the hands of the Dems..(who have an even worse approval rating in Congress than GWB)now that's pathetic!!
eric, los angeles (Sent Wednesday, August 27, 2008 12:25 AM)

Eric, you're so right. I still say if you want REAL CHANGE then we need to vote out all incumbents and start over from scratch.  I still would like to see term limits inCongress.  Until we do that, these PAC and lobbyist alliances and their deep entrenchments will remain a problem.  If they don't have term limits per se, maybe they could make it that they can serve two terms consecutively then have to stay out one or two. If they had to go out into the real world once in a while, perhaps, they'd better understand what's going on and what people want/need.
Yes, Hillary did a wonderful job in uniting the two, when she mentioned Bill and the great job he did in the past, priceless. Awe, that was one of the coolest moments of the night. With that said, some people still will not vote for Barack. Did they not hear the other stories? Some of those people were "regular" Americans telling the stories of losing their jobs, healthcare and pentions. Are people this stubborn that they can just ignore their fellow Americans and let them suffer more?

Hillary will be fine, she and Bill have enough money to retire if they want, right now. Some people will ingore their fellow Americans cry for help and still vote McCain? And these people are supposed to be patriotic? This is a sad state of mind and I feel sorry for them.
Hillary delivered the goods last night.
Now The ObamaNIACS should have the decency to lay off her and Bill.
If Obama is the "next coming" as his minions truly think he is, then he should be able to win this thing on his own.
The only thing he and his people accomplish when they whine about the Clintons not doing enough for them,is to demonstrate how truly unqualified he is to be President and how much he truly needs to hang onto Hillary's coat tails in order to beat McCain.
If you thought Hillary was a loose cannon, wait until her hubby gets up on stage. Watch to see if he strays from the prepared remarks. Obama's political future rests with an ex-Prsident that doesn't like Barack very much. There will be no glossing over Bill's talk if he takes a swipe at Obama.
Now for those supporters that are still pissed off as well as those repugs who do not want to vote for McCain... Hillary has nearly begged you to support Senator Obama. If you don't follow soon, then it becomes clear that you were only using her and her platform to support your own personal agenda.....If that's the case, then God don't like UGLY!!!!!
"It's actually a good example of how no good deed goes unpunished by her staff, and it’s another reminder of how undisciplined her campaign would be right now had she won the Dem nomination."
------------------------------------------------------And this is why the Democratic Party is better off with Barack Obama as the nominee.  Obama's management of his campaign is an excellent example of how he will lead this country: No drama, keep working hard, and keep working TOGETHER.

While Senator Clinton was an excellent candidate, her campaign management was a disaster.  Mark Penn, Lanny Davis, and Howard Wolfson should not be allowed to run a campaign for dogcatcher after their shameful performances.  Thank goodness they won't get anywhere near the White House.
I sincerely hope the comments from Hillary's campaign staff about 2012 are not true. If so, how can we trust Hillary and Bill to earnestly support Obama for 2008?
Hillary's speech last night was a major positive step that was undermined by a few disgruntled staff members in a NYT article.
If they are truly serious about saving this country, and not their own narcissistic ambitions, Bill's speech, no matter the topic, will have to make that abundantly clear.
I feel bad for Hillary. It is obvious that her staff and Bill have betrayed her. Judging from the speech last night, it is equally obvious that her staff from Mark Penn, Bill Clinton, and Howard Wolfson, on down to her lower level workers, did her a grave disservice in representing her campaign.
Bill can rectify this situation tonight; but only if he puts our country before his ambition; and he can muzzle his staff afterwards.
Hillary did , and will continue to do all she can to help Obama win the election.  "but Obama has to win it for himself."  People who dislike Hillary will critize her no matter what she does.  People who would go against our party and vote for a Repub --IS NO FRIEND OF HILLARY OR MINE.  AND THEY SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES.
I guess Hillary didn't get through to Bill...He's splitting early...The money wasted on all those pant suits..they just weren't that effective...
Bill you look so undemocratic ...

[[Just askin’: Did anyone else notice those “Hillary” signs that had the “hillaryclinton.com” address at the bottom?]]

Yes, I did.  I thought that maybe they were her 2012 posters.  Are they SERIOUS?

I have never been a Clinton fan.  That being said, I did like her speech last night.  Thought she did better than I had expected.

However...

I disagree with KO - it was not a "grand slam".  I had a nagging feeling after the speech and wasn't "wowed" - thought that feeling was just because I wasn't an HRC fan and those signs were a little presumptuous.

Listening to Moron Blow this morning, though, I have to agree with Mika, Craig Crawford (article) and Mike Barnicle.  She SAID what she needed to say, but it wasn't personal.

I noticed that the speech was still about her - "I'll never forget...I have fought for...etc."  It wasn't about what Obama was going to do.  She still called McCain her friend.  Was that necessary?

I do agree with Rachel in that it will move those who can still be moved.  To those "followers", nothing short of a coronation will satisfy them.
Without question, Mark Warner gave the worst speech (content, presentation, prununciation, etc) i have seen ANY politician give! Total bust for the democrats and then to put that maniac from Montana up there was a shame, the fact he would imitate John McCain and his shoulder issues is atrocious….. But i wouldnt expect this paper to point that out.

So far the Demo Convent has been a 3 out of 10 for me (an independent favoring McCain)…
Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain Please listen to this video about this Scum Bag Traitor.

How can we tell if the gloves came off last night
the networks only show one hour of the convention
[one speech] and cable might show two unless they
have nothing else is say and we know that's not happening,if you want to see the convention in it's entirety watch c-span
In this day and age of the “Information Highway” you would think that people would be more informed about issues and policies and not look at the surface qualities in a candidate. When Kennedy and Nixon debated in 1960 in Chicago the people who listened on the radio thought Nixon was the better candidate but people who watched on television thought Kennedy had won the debate. Before you all go off on Nixon, this is only an example of  how people are easily swayed by looks and visual charisma.

Which brings me to this years election, a charismatic person doesn’t mean he will be a good president.  He is considered a “rock star” not a politician. His speeches have a lot of great sound bites like a rock star has great songs.

He would make a great friend, neighbor, President of the PTA but as a President of the United States he has no substance. How many here have actually said I want Barack Obama to be president because I believe in his policies and they are…..? From the posts I have read they are mostly anti-Hillary or anti-John.

Why is it ok for Obama or the bloggers to vilify Clinton for voting for the war when Biden did the same?

Why is it ok for Clinton to be ridiculed for things she has said when Biden was accused of plagiarism in law school and in 1987 while running for president?

Why is it ok to have demeaning nicknames for McCain but not ok to debate Obama’s vague policies? Is he for or against Nafta? His he for or against off shore drilling? Is he for or against FISA?

I know most people won’t change their minds. I know I won’t change mine because instead of being swayed by the television mystique I listen with my ears

Hope Bill Clinton gives an entertaining speech tonight and I sincerely hope it is the last time I ever have to endure the selfish self-centered drivel that him and Hillary continuously spew forth, at least when he speaks it will give me an opportunity to make a sandwich and grab a beer, thanks Bill. Can anyone say "has been".
Barack Obama..still fighting the Clinton's and the McCain's...this guy can really handle a two front war...

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/08/26/source-bill-clinton-will-not-attend-obamas-invesco-speech/
I thought I'd be able go get some sleep after the Olympics closing ceremony - boy was I wrong! lol

Hillary Clinton gave a great speech that put the focus right where it belongs - on beating John McCain.

Everything else (including blind Clinton staff comments - responsible journalism?) is a distraction.

Obama/Biden '08/'12
Hope Bill Clinton gives an entertaining speech tonight and I sincerely hope it is the last time I ever have to endure the selfish self-centered drivel that him and Hillary continuously spew forth, at least when he speaks it will give me an opportunity to make a sandwich and grab a beer, thanks Bill. I loved Hillary"s Speech last night. It was very "presidential".It makes me even more sorry she lost.my wound is even bigger now!(How hard it must of been for her!She certainly is a trooper.Cant wait for "Bill' tonight!)
She is so smart, she takes her causes so seriosly ,has experience and most of all she truly loves our Country. No she did not convince me to vote for Obama.Nobody will.Yes Im a Dem.But all this "yes we can " chanting will be No I won"t in my case come november.I do not think Mccain is bush"S clone.(nobody can be that bad!) First of all MCcain has 'crossed" the aisles over the years (with Dems)which is one of the reasons the GOP werent to excited with him in the first place.(a little strange considering one would think you would want peace in Washington ,while trying to establish it accross the World!!!)Mccain is a moderate Republican.
I dont agree with his stand on Iraq, but I do admire the fact that he almost lost hte nomination over his beliefs. He wanted a surge back in 2004 and got into a fight with bush over that same idea.I really think he has a mind of his own.On the economy he does need help.Hopefully he wont pick Romney, who spent like a bandit while being Gov of MA.Now that sounds like bush!(cant stand bush, nor Cheney, hopefully Biden, whom I admire and have great repspect for, will take some jabs at that mean mean too powerful of a VP.
it would be nice if msnbc would actually cover the convention instead of giving the same "throw gas on any small flame, either real or imagined". it would be nice to hear some more speaches and less interviews with republicans---save that for next week. i'm glad at least cspan provides real coverage rather than the same pundit opinions hour after hour.
hillarys speech was absolutely fabulous.  Im not looking forward to Bill Clinton's speech, but I will watch.  I think hes going to be selfish.  Can't wait to hear joe biden speak, hes awesome

Hillary gave a great speech.  No change here tho.  Pundits should understand that many not voting for Obama aren't "pouting" HRC didn't win.  We're voting because we do not feel Obama is ready to be President.
I am very disappointed in the way some of you are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill regarding the small amount of Hillary supporters that may or may not support Obama.  It comes across like you don't have any other story and are trying to make it more than it is so that you have something to talk about.  I see a lot of biased reporting and a lot of attitude...this is a political convention, not a Jerry Springer show, shape up please.

I guess First Read is the second place for politics:)
How many days has McCain been in Arizona at one of his houses as down time?  (doing filming sounds like a new wording for them for vacation time)  Will he work only 75% of the time like Bush has for us?
The first was Mark Warner’s future-vs.-the past hit. “The race for the future is on,” he said, “And it won't be won with a president who is stuck in the past.”

So why does Obama has a running mate who has been in the Senate for 36 YEARS????  If that's not connected to the past, I don't know what is.  So much for change.
I just wish people would quit calling old mac a war hero . A man who chose to stay there after they wanted to release him.A man who was more affraid to have to fly missions again and if he stayed he would be treated special!

A man who got mad at bush because of the things he said during his run for president and got even by voting against his party to get even and then got called a maverick?

A man who has such a bad temper he has to have help containing it?

A man who if he worked any where else in goverment would be asked to retire?

A man who surrounds himself with lobbiests and even has the balls to get them to cast his vote for him?

A man who finished at the bottom of his class in officers school....hell lets get someone who was held captive, but graduated at the top and make them president

A man who professes to know about iraque, but cant remember who is fighting who over there

A man who would ask a military man how to run a country,if i remember right we had a great general who fought in world war two who was brought home because he would not listen to the president

So the next time you call mccain a hero.please explain to me why he is!The next time age is brought up,please tell me why the federal goverment makes eveyone else retire at 65?The next time mccain says he wants to give the rich another tax break ask yourself how are we going to pay this debt we now have?
OMG! Just listening to Morning Joe interview Rudy G. and he did not mention 9-11 once. Mark the date on your calendar because it is a first.
As to last night at the convention, the speeches and Hillary. These folks who are saying she did not do enough obviously got the RNC talking points. She did her part and praised Senator Obama, it is now his job to sell himself.
Please, please, please just keep reminding everyone of the Women's rights, what will happen to them, the backstop we will take (perhaps 100 years), the courts, and more of Bush's policy. He (McCain) can deny that is his policy, but it is not his record!
After Hillary's stirring speech last night I'm anxiously awaiting Bill's speech tonight.  I really hope he brings his A Game tonight and blasts the repugnant ones for turning his budget surplus into massive budget deficits just so the richest and greediest could have tax cut welfare.  I hope he enthusiastically endorses Obama and proclaims that he is ready to lead.

This PUMA thing is just another dirty trick from the repugnant ones.  They are sending in paid ringers to pretend to be Hillary's supporters and the stupid media is falling for this dirty trick.  I think the media needs to get a grip on reality and ignore this false nonsense.  Maybe they could do some real investigative reporting and expose these false witches of the RNC.  Or is investigative journalism asking too much from the lazy liberal media who has fallen down on the job of responsible reporting for so many years?

Go Obama/Biden 08/12!
I switched from CNN to MSNBC in November of 2007.  I now have not watched Morning Joe in 1.5 months (I find out that it is still rabidly anti-Obama from the internet).  Why? Pat Buchanan is basically a bigot and you are allowing him to be on the air? He is the right's version of Rev. Wright and I do not think he (Wright) is line for a Political Analyst job. Please restore integrity to MSNNC and get Joe and Pat OFF of this otherwise decent network.
All America saw last night the reason so many of us are so passionate about Hillary and the job she would do as POTUS.

This morning I can't help but feeling bittersweet and I still do believe, in my heart of hearts that SHE was the best candidate suited for the job, on day one.

With that said- this still semi-bitter, yet pragmatic (over 60 Female working class Democrat) will come aboard and support Senator Obama & Biden. I do so with a heavy heart yet a clear conscience.

When it's all said and done - Hillary is right -
WE are the ones that have to live with these choices that are made after the Campaigning is over and the same problems are facing this Country.

I really do believe more of the same and perhaps even worst, would be on the way from McCain & Co.

For the good of my Grandchildren - I will follow Hillary's lead and urge my fellow voters to do the same.

Hillary did a wonderful job. She deserves much
credit.
Now, forward we go. United we stand
Go Barack Obama    Go Democrats.
I do hope someone tonight brings up the questions raised by John McCain's performance on David Letterman, in October of 2001.

He announced then the coming invasion of Iraq, a year before the president claims the decision was made.

Was McCain part of a treasonous plot to navigate the country into an unneccesary war? Or was he just the dope who let the cat out of the bag early?
"A hero is always willing to perform an act of self sacrifice for the greater good." - Stan Lee. Hillary FINALLY did that last night and I was proud of her for the first time in a long time. I do wish she would have said something about how she now knows Obama can lead but nobody's perfect.

I am a little irked at the fact that some of her supporters are not killing the "emotional woman" stereotype. You want to vote your rights away with McCain then please do so. I'll be in England if he gets elected because of you people who can't live without a Clinton ticket. I'm mean I'm sure that America under McCain will become a big nuclear lake anyway...that war mongering !@#$

I'm just saying
Ok, so the only problem is...why are Obama's poll numbers going down and McCain is in the lead?  And at the very time (VP pic, convention) he should be should be soaring past McCain? It doesn't look good.
The PUMAS need to get over themselves...they lost...their canddiate lost...get onboard or go backwards with Mccain
She hit a grand slam!
I have been enjoying the convention via CSPAN because I can actually see what is going on instead of watching all the pundits picking apart every sentence with those ridiculous headsets. And of course, speculating..I know next week you will give the Republican convention your undivided attention, and undeserved praise, but I will not be watching that on CSPAN or MSNBC or any channel.
Ok, now JM talks about nothing but Obama.

He does nothing but attack Obama because he has nothing else but the same old bush agenda/policies.
He knows that we already knows bush agenda/policies
as we have lived thru them.

I say it is time the media start asking JM some of the hard questions they have been asking Obama.

We need some clarifications from you JM on the issues that hits the American people.

What do you stand for other than I WAS A P.O.W.....

Give us some details on your policies.......

Tell us how your policies will change the directions of America future for the better..........

Give us some information as to where we are headed in this new world that is here.......

Tell us how we will compete with China now that we owe them every dime we make..........

Give us answers as to what Iraq will do with all that OIL that you & bush have falsely sent to WAR over our SONS & DAUGHTERS to DIE for.......

BILLIONS of dollars spent every month over there that could have  been spent on building new schools in poor communities to educate our children.

BILLIONS of dollars spent every month over there that could have been spent on the improvement of the BIRDGES & ROADS in these here USA cities.

This guy should have to answer some of these questions and FR you need to have someone ask him them.

This guy knows nothing about what Americans are going thru.

I for one am tired of the P.O.W. answer to everything question that is asked of him.

Suer he was a P.O.W., but PLEASE tell me how does that qualify you to be POTUS, can someone answer this for me?

POW`s are tired of him using this as an excuse for everything.

No, Not This Time.........Time To Stop The Madness,
Time To Stop The republicans.......

He is out dated old and knows nothing of this new world that has developed right before his eyes, he cannot keep up with progress he is stuck in the past.

No Way

No How

No McCain

Obama/Biden 08'
What a terrific woman. Just a shame she is not going to be our next president.
All you need to know about the convention so far was summed up in a question to Rudy G on TV this morning and his response.  The question: "It seems as if the Democratic convention so far has delivered on every single thing they've set out to do.  How do you counter that?"  Rudy: "(deer in headlights pause) NO!!  (pause)  The Democrats haven't delivered on anything!"  If even Rudy the fast talker can't come up with a better response than that they are in serious trouble.
What an incredible speech and woman. ! I have NEVER been as moved as I was listening to her last night. I have been a Hillary Supporter from the start and I will ALWAYS be a supporter of hers. for almost 10 mins she stood before that crowd of her supporters and and listened to their thunderous applause. She spoke so eloquently and strong, and such passion for the American people, You could feel her love-and passion for us and this country. That is the only woman to ever move people the she can ONLY do ! This morning I am still covered with goose bumps just thinking about her and that speech.
Why can't Obama have a 1/10 of her passion and drive. He just doesn't have that passion the reaches out to you like she does. The pride that was beaming in Bill's eyes was so true and heart felt. I even was moved to tears, and for a man that is hard to do.  Obama just doesn't  have that heart felt passion. I just hope and pray that she can forgive and run again. I pray with all my sole that last night wasn't her swan song as has been reported. If there ever was a President, folks you saw her last night. I bet Howard Dean is just sick today, realizing they put the wrong person up in this election. It saddens me to know that we will have to endure four more years, before ( and I pray she will ) she will run again.
I have never been so moved and so energized by a person as I am with her. Obama will never be able to give a speech like that. Hillary we love you more now than ever before. Last night you gave the largest part of your soul and put in the hands of obama. That was the greatest show of courage anyone could done. To know that you should be accepting that nomination not obama and to be so graceful and polite as you watch your and our dreams slip away.  We THANK YOU SENATOR CLINTON! we the American people owe you a debt of gratitude. Your vision will live on and we not forget you ! May God bless and watch over you till you take your rightful place as our PRESIDENT
