too bad voting irregularities and virtual black voter disenfranchisement will cost Obama the election.  No one is talking about the Elephant in the room - the Diebold electronic voting machines - that are almost in every battleground state, that are rigged by republicans because Diebold is a republican contributor. (CNN) – A health care policy advisor for the McCain campaign told a newspaper reporter that nobody in the United States is technically uninsured, because everyone has access to hospital emergency rooms.

"So I have a solution [to the health care crisis]. And it will cost not one thin dime," John Goodman, president of the National Center for Policy Analysis, told the Dallas Morning News in an interview published Thursday.

"The next president of the United States should sign an executive order requiring the Census Bureau to cease and desist from describing any American – even illegal aliens – as uninsured. Instead, the bureau should categorize people according to the likely source of payment should they need care. So, there you have it. Voila! Problem solved."

Hospital emergency rooms cannot technically turn away anyone for financial reasons.

"So instead of producing worthless statistics that people fling around in vacuous editorials and pointless debates, the Census Bureau should produce meaningful numbers, identifying all of the sources of funds people will draw on if they need medical care," said Goodman, who helped write McCain’s health care plan.

That plan would use a combination of tax incentives and market competition to make health care more affordable. It is not a universal health care plan – it does not guarantee insurance coverage for every American.

True, many Hillary Democrats will vote for the ticket; they would have voted for any nominee with D after his or her name.  The real test will be how many independants vote for Obama-Hillary cannot sway their votes.

I did not vote in the primary because I backed neither of the top candidates; however, I was appalled at the actions of the super delegates.  Kerry and Kennedy coming out for Obama after Clinton had won the delegates in Massachusetts was just one example.

It seems to me that the role of superdelegates needs to be redefined.  Given the poor showing by Obama in the last primaries, and the subsequent poll numbers, it is not surprising that the Democratic party has voted to examine and re evaluate the process.  My suggestion would be to constrain supers from indicating their preference until the convention.  They are supposed to be there to prevent another McGovern candidacy; time will tell if they succeeded or failed in that role, but right now, it looks like, once again, the Democrats have selected a sure loser.

Democrats need to get their act together, or we will be a one party country.

Party Unity is a beautiful thing to witness.  Not only are Hillary supporters now backig Barack wholeheartedly but Barack supporters now back the Clintons wholeheartedy.  Don't let the toadies of the repugnant ones try to fool any of us that we're a dysfunctional political party.  The dysfunctional political party is now the newest micro political party - the republicans.

It's been a good week of racial and gender reconciliation within the Democratic Party and the repugnant ones are running scared.  They whine about everything petty because they have nothing positive to present the American people.

I got a big laugh out of today's news that the econmomy grew by 3.3% in the 2nd quarter.  This released by the "NeoNazi" Bush controlled Commerce Department.  This new revised number has been revised for political purposes to try to make the repugnant ones not look so bad as stewards of the economy.  The 1.9% growth number initially released a while back was also a big lie.  Remember that the repugnant ones think that the way to restore people's confidence and their own credibility is to outright lie to them.

As a Hillary supporter during the primaries, I'm now feeling greatly enthusiastic about my support of Barack Obama for the general election.

Not only have the Hillary backers come around to Obama - it's obvious that the Obama backers are coming around to Clinton.  This is how the Democrats will win the election in November.

At the very least she can say that she never gave up on her vision or on her people.  The people of the United States of America.  Not just the people that voted for her throughout the primary season, but all of the people including the people that voted for him.  But can he say the same?  Can he say that once she was effectively locked out of the nomination in June that he did everything he could to welcome and embrace the 18 million people that supported her?  Can he say that he has called for party unity and shown true leadership by giving us, her supporters, a tangible reason to believe in all of the promises he is so quick to shout out?  I have been following very closely since June waiting for him to invite me to his party.  I have been waiting for some sign or signal from him that it was okay and that I was welcome and that he wanted me there.  I have been waiting for some great speech about unity and forging ahead together so my democratic party can take back the white house.
I am still waiting.
In the interim I have seen her become the official mascot of his campaign.  I have received countless emails from her asking me to rally around him and his cause.  I have seen her on the television at stops around the country asking her supporters to please, for the good of the party, get onboard and vote for him.   I have witnessed her give the best political speech in recent history urging her voters to do the right thing by the party, to think about each other, and to cast their ballots in November for him.  I have witnessed her walk across the floor of the convention and call for the nominating procedure to be ceased for the good of the country.  I have witnessed her take the actual role of a leader and embrace every single democratic voter, not just the ones that supported her.
So my question is why is it her responsibility to lead the way?  Should it not be the responsibility of the man who is destined to be the next president of our country to unify us?  Why is it her responsibility to make us, her supporters, want to vote for this man?
Shouldn’t this man have something to say to us?  Shouldn’t this man have offered something to us?  Shouldn’t this man have more readily embraced 18 million people, rather than turn his back and leave his former rival to clean up after him?
What kind of leader will he be?  Will he truly work across party lines to better our country?  It is obvious that she would, given her trailblazing campaigning on his behalf in recent weeks, but will he?  He has yet to work across divided lines in his own party, so how will he accomplish this task on a global stage?  He has chosen a man who received 9,000 votes in the primary season as his running mate, neglecting the 18 million voters in his own party who wanted something different.
How will he effectively navigate across party lines when he has yet to even attempt to navigate a path for both factions of his own party to unite?
He relied on her to get that done for him.  He relied on her to get people together and to get people to support him.  He relied on her.
Only time will tell what will come of this. Apparently he, following the lead of our current administration, has taken on the belief that if his supporters are united, he does not need anything or anybody else.  Is it really in the spirit of America though, to leave out those who do not agree with you?  That is the mark of the current administration, most definitely, but should it be the mark of our leadership going forward, even if the leader is of a party that we happen to relate to more?   Does that make it okay?  I for one do not think that it does and I for one will be casting a blank ballot of protest this November.  We need a leader who can work for and with everyone, and neither of the two gentlemen on the ticket has shown that they are capable of that.  I will wait until a true leader is on the ticket in the future and when her name is there, I will happily rejoin my party and cast my vote.

Some moderate Democrats, me included, feel very different about what each of these people described in the article believe. I don't see how electing the most liberal and the 3rd most liberal Senators in the Senate solves any problems in this country. Obama has not layed out any details any of his so called plans, but with such a small voting record he has, it appears he'll be a near socialist type of President. That's not where I am politically, and not where the country is either. McCain, even though he is a Republican, is as far left as Republican in the Senate, save for when Chaffee was there. That's makes him a moderate, and a good choice for the country. Unless Obama can convince me, and many others, otherwise, I'll vote for McCain.

Well after the speech that bill gave last night and hillarys speech the night before that, how the hell can you still want to vote for john mccain. the parralles that bill gave, comparing him self to barack, was something i remember happening back in 92 but i did not realise how relivent it was. bill was younger than barack, as will as not being as well known to the american people, it reminded me that we took a chance on bill clinton and it paid off big time for america. I was proud of Hillary yesterday. Actually, I was moved to tears. What courage it took for her to put aside her pain and give a rousing speech on behalf of her opponent AND to ask that her opponent receive the nomination by acclamation. I am in awe of her fortitude. (I was equally impressed by her husband's remarks.)

So glad the Clintons and their supporters have essentially spit in the eyes of the MSM who predicted a floor flight. The MSM should be ashamed of themselves all around for promoting controversy where there was none AND for promoting themselves above the speakers. I had to turn to C-Span to see John Kerry's remarks and those of the others speakers. The MSM is NOT the story for heaven's sake! Get out of the way!
