Hillary backers come around to Obama

Posted: Thursday, August 28, 2008 2:10 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Cherelle Kantey
Karen Crouch, 47, flew to Denver from San Antonio, TX to hear what Hillary’s advice would be to her delegates. As a delegate from a district where a majority of her constituents voted for Clinton, she came to the “Friends of Hillary Delegates Reception” yesterday at the Colorado Convention Center looking for guidance.

“I came to the convention ready to follow her lead,” said Crouch. “And now I think I can vote the Democratic ticket with confidence.”

She says hearing Sen. Clinton tell her delegates to vote their conscience and ultimately releasing them was a courageous move that would bring unity to a divided party. “I respect her so much,” said Crouch. “On the national level, she’s done so much trailblazing for women. To tell people to vote their heart will bring the party out of here united.

The crowded room filled with Hillary supporters flocked to get a peek at the former first lady as she exited the stage, while a few Obama supporters lingered toward the back of the room.

Christopher Stampolis, 42, is a superdelegate from Santa Clara, California who today threw his support to Sen. Obama. Even with the divisions created with an extended primary, he says voting for a Democratic president is in the best interest of the nation.

“We need to do some internal housekeeping, but it doesn’t mean you should vote for the Republican candidate,” said Stampolis. “I don’t think it’s about party unity, it’s about national unity.”

Again WELCOME
The kuumbya convention will go a long way in tamping down the last of the legit anti-Obama resistance within the party. There will be a pool of 5-10% of Hillary voters who either stay home or vote for McCain, but it won't be enough to really change things - unless PA goes down to a percentage point. Oops...

We'll see in 68 days and counting ! justice will be served ! Obama party of 2 your table is ready.
.IM GOING TO VOTE FOR OBAMA, NOT BECAUSE OF HIM, BUT BECAUSE OF WHAT HILLARY HAS ASKED OF ME.  BUT JUST BECAUSE I'M VOTING FOR OBAMA DOESNT STOP ME FROM PROMOTING THE HELL OUT OF MCCAIN FOR THE NEXT NINE WEEKS.
KRIS

Kris, as a diehard Hillary supporter, please know the DNC and Obama blackmailed her to say what she did. Howard Dean threatened her if she didn't promote Obama and sound conviencing she could forget ever being a Dem President. So please don't vote the DNC ! Do as Hillary said vote your conscience.
Oh you sicko Republicans. You cry and moan and sob and complain about Obama not having specifics re: health, the war, the economy, etc. However, have you noticed that McCain can only react to whatever Obama says? How specific can you get when describing McCain's plans. Let me guess....IT'S IMPOSSIBLE! He just does not have a plan other than to BOMB.And, aren't you getting sick of his "Whoa is me, I was a POW and now you owe me.)?

What a true disgrace McCain and his campaign are. This is NO JOKING MATTER. The American people are being hit hard right now when it comes to medical insurance and McCain and his campaigns answer is the 'Emergency Room'. I guess McCain'ts answer for the hungry is the 'Food Shelter'. I guess McCain's answer for high gas prices is 'walk'. I guess McCain'ts answer for our poor educational system is 'just read more'.

I guess McCain'ts answer for not knowing how to solve the problems America faces is the fact that he was a POW. I'm sorry Mr. McCain, but that’s not good enough. America needs more than a good soldier, America needs a wise leader and that person is Barack Obama.

We can spend $10 Billion a month on a war, but our nations health its people and the issues we face-- is no big deal, it’s just 'mental'. At least that's what John McCain thinks.

No Way. No How. No McCain. (Thanks Hillary!)

Bush = McCain

McCain is more of the same (maybe even worse).
Anyone of Senator Clinton's supporters that say they will not vote for Senator Obama, after being told to by their candidate are wrong.  Examine the reason for not voting for Senator Obama, and don't use the silly excuse that you are so hurt.  The reason can only be the one that will stop many from voting for him.  Fear of him because of the hue of his skin.  Last night you saw his great uncle, and if you still have the same reason there is something wrong with your thinking processes.
This is not about Hillary, it is about the future. Obama will be a great president. We can all be thankful that Hillary and Bill put the national interest above their emotions. It is time to move this nation forward again.
To Hillary Supporters- simply google the things that John McCain has said about Hillary in the past also google other comments John McCain has made toward women in general.

You still want to vote for that guy?
