The McCain camp reacts to Obama's speech

Posted: Thursday, August 28, 2008 11:34 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC's Mark Murray
Said McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds in a statement: "Tonight, Americans witnessed a misleading speech that was so fundamentally at odds with the meager record of Barack Obama. When the temple comes down, the fireworks end, and the words are over, the facts remain: Senator Obama still has no record of bipartisanship, still opposes offshore drilling, still voted to raise taxes on those making just $42,000 per year, and still voted against funds for American troops in harm's way. The fact remains: Barack Obama is still not ready to be President."

please stop regurgitating false press releases, or at least deconstruct them to expoes their falsehoods. :-(
Tucker:  Buff up your resume, lil' feller, you'll be needing work soon.
didn't First Read debunk the raising taxes on folks who make $42,000 a year?  What does it take for First Read to call something a LIE?
Weak and limp response. Lists facts that are lies...
If this is the best they can muster, it's over already...
The Republican's have got nothing!  What a weak response to Barack Obama's inspiring message.
Old man yells at cloud. Lies, lies and more lies!
No way, no how, NObama!
John, don't hate the player, hate the game.
Wow, they could have written this 'response' 3 weeks ago. Apparently, they really don't have a clue what to do with this, do they?
I don't think Tucker Bounds heard the same speech I saw tonight.  He is obviously living in a fantasy world.
I am convinced that the Repukes would criticize Jesus Christ Himself if he were the Democratic nominee! They are looking so desperate!!
Wow.  The republicans are scared.  Barack's speech was my March on Washington, my Kennedy moment.  I sat alone in my living room.  My kids asleep in their beds and was proud to be a Obama supporter.  I was never 100% behind the democratic party.  My cynical nature always felt that they were just as bad as republicans.  Obama changed that.  I now understand how my Dad felt when he heard Kennedy speak.

I feel sorry for McCain.  The campaign is over.  Welcome President Obama.
Just look at the convention alone. If our current governmetn operates so well we definitely would have a better economy, better response to Katrina, and more proactive and planned foreign policy. Experience? Just look at the campaigns? Look at the Europe trip. Organizational ability. Change will not come from Washington but to Washington as he said.
AFTER WATCHING THE DNC CONVENTION, IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING SENATOR OBAMA'S SPEECH, TOM BROKAW HAD THE AUDACITY TO COMPARE SENATOR OBAMA'S SPEECH TO THAT OF VERGIL TIBBS "IN THE HEAT OF THE NIGHT!!!." ARE U KIDDING ME...I WILL NEVER WATCH NBC AGAIN. THIS WAS A SPEECH THAT SHOULD BE COMPARED TO DR. KING'S "MOUNTAIN TOP" SPEEDCH. OR PRESIDENT KENNEDYS' "WHAT CAN YOU DO FOR YOUR COUNTRY SPEECH"...HOW DARE TOM BROKAW CAMPARE THIS TO A FICTICIOUS TV SERIES CHARACTER!!! WHAT KINDA STATION IS THIS?
lol

The McCain campaign calling the Obama campaign "misleading"?

Pot - meet kettle?

P.S. That tax line is an ALREADY DEBUNKED LIE.
I believe that tonight at the Democratic Convention, we have just seen the next President of the United States.  A majority of Americans are tired of political manipulations and half-truths.  The fact that Obama is less experienced in Washington politics will end up being to his advantage.  His speach was straight forward and appeared truthful and sincere.  It is not about what is good for big-business and a select few, but about what is good for a "United" America, Democrats, Republicans, and Independants, as it should be.  I was not sure about Obama before tonight's speach, but I am now, and he definitely has my vote as well as all of those watching with me tonight.  I finally feel more hopeful about the direction of our country.
If that's the best the Republicans can do I'll let you hire my 4th grade daughter to craft something quite a bit better than that. Some really good thought went into that Tucker!!!!heheheheheheheh
Obviously, they didn't even get the speech that was given tonight let alone what's happening in Americans lives.

Obama/Biden 08
Pretty lame, Milhouse.

Must have caught you off guard that Obama's got fight to issue such a bland rejoinder, Mister Bounds. You'll be waiting in Spin Alley with a stretcher once he wipes the floor with McCain at the debates.
they did listen to what was said so sadly they have no clue.

Obama08 12
There is no way God would be a Republican after the last 8 years....
Wow... it's gonna be tough if at all to top Barack's speech... let alone the 'visual'. Sorry Mac, it's time for change! It isn't Barack that wants it... it's America that wants it!
The truth is after 26 years in Washington, 26 years of voting against an increase in the minimum wage, while giving tax cuts to big corporations, 26 years of putting corporations first and the people last,Senator McCain is the wrong man for the job of President.
John McCain lacks substance, just like GW Bush. His only chance is to send dimwits like Tucker Bounds out there to attack Obama's experience. Obama has been right more times in 4 years than John McCain has been in 26 years. Change is coming America!
Can't the Republicans come up with anything better than that? Sorta like their candicate!!
some reporter from fox news was reading the first sentence of this report in front of John McCain's straight talk express airplane when they abruptly cut away with no explanation. check it out. funny stuff.
McCain has not gotten anything done in 23 years and he complains about Obama 4 years.  His response is the same lies he has been telling for weeks.  McCain what are you issues? A noun, a verb and POW.
