Just asking, but with everyone focused on other news today, is the McCain camp trying to dump a lot of negative Palin news? Here's an exclusive from the Christian Broadcasting Network's David Brody:

"Sources close to Sarah Palin tell The Brody File that the husband of the GOP Vice-presidential choice, Todd Palin, was arrested and charged with Driving under the Influence of alcohol back in 1986. He was 22 years old at the time. He was driving in a truck with some friends in the small southwestern Alaska town of Dillingham when he was pulled over for the DUI. As is customary, he was taken to jail briefly. Sarah and Todd Palin were high school sweethearts so they were dating at the time. The Brody File can also report that there was no accident or injuries."

"Sources close to Sarah Palin also tell The Brody File that Todd Palin has been 'forthcoming about the situation and has indicated that it was a lesson learned from when he was younger.'"

NO big deal.

Ms. Palin is who the MSM needs to / will focus on as they start digging around her time in office Mayor/Gov.. If the bi-partisan lawmakers investigating her firing of the police commisioner hold water, then this will be the GOP's undoing. This pick in my opinion was the true "Hail Mary" last ditch chance to hold on to power by the GOP. McCain cannot win on the issues....No How No Way......Seeya McCain!!
Fall on the sword  or find a crack that doesn't look like Hillary's..
The Palin choice is NOT polling well with older adults, and all this news (along with Bristol Palin's unwed pregnancy) is going to tip the senior vote to Obama...if not implode the Palin selection.
I predict she withdraws within a week.
Nice vetting, McCain.
LOL, I see the digging into the past has begun....

Just means he will score with the blue collar workers who sometimes has one too many after a hard day at the office.
Gee Hmmmm zzzzzzzz  yawn. Hey maybe this is so serious it will help Barky get that long awaited pop  in the polla NOT  Whaaa hhhaaa. Good thing hes got bounce in his B Ball he sure as hell dont in his campaign. Heeeee No How No way NObama
Egads! Palin's husband had a DUI as a young man over two decades ago! Can the Republic survive such infamy?

Get a grip, MSNBC. This does not merit reporting since it does not reflect on Palin's qualifications, fitness, and merits. Your sole point is to embarass Palin and strike at her family.
Bush had many DUIs and he is our President.
I DO NOT CARE ABOUT A DUI FROM 22 YEARS AGO!!! My word, we have all done dumb things as young people. The important thing is that he obviously repeated the mistake.

However, I do care about the "Troopergate" of recent months, Palin's questionable pregnancy/birth (are we now hearing another lie to cover it up with the announcement of an impending grandchild???), and her lack of experience on the international stage.

I feel that I just cannot trust this woman. Not only are her values extreme, but also her experiences are not adequate for the task. McCain's gimmick will fall flat on its face, just like the gas tax holiday.  If I had ANY doubts about him before, this VP pick has just reinforced them.

I am so disappointed!
Let’s face it, as Americans; internally we have become an “us against them nation”.  I could give a hundred examples but I will just give a few; Whites versus blacks, North versus South, Democrat versus Republican, Red States versus Blue States and Pro-Choice versus Pro-life and on and on.  We all have different beliefs that are mostly driven by our emotions and not our intellect.  If there are three hundred million people in the United States and I get my way on all of the issues then there are 2,999, 999 people who are not going to get it their way.

I am going to make an example of one issue to make my point, Pro-Choice versus Pro-Life.  Emotionally I am pro-life and opposed to abortion, intellectually I am pro-choice.  I doubt that there are very few people who want to see a fetus aborted even if they don’t think life begins at inception.  Intellectually I understand that if we criminalize abortion the United States would have to incarcerate another million or so of our citizens.  We already have the highest rate of incarceration of any nation in the world.  To make a point if abortion was criminalized and we put one million women in jail for abortion we would not only strain our jail system but since quite a few of these women already have children and they would all become orphans.

I once heard a saying that went “Intelligent people, equally informed, seldom disagree.”  The United States is a great nation and we need to use our hearts, our minds and our humility to govern instead of self righteous arrogance.  These last eight years have been run by an emotional person.  I am sure that President Bush has done the best he could.  We do need a change and McCain is not change but more of the same.  I believe and pray that Barack Obama will run this country with compassion and intellect.
++++++++++++++  THE REAL STORY  +++++++++++++++++++

John McCain did almost NO vetting and relied only on his 'maverick instincts'.

Check out the story about how McCain would've 'shot from the hip' in the immediate days after 9/11...He wanted to do a massive immediate attack on Iraq AND Iran (and I think there was another country thrown in for good measure.)  ...All quoted in the MSM.

++++++++++++++++  SHOOT FROM THE HIP  +++++++++++++++

...And oh yeah, we noticed how McCain is being so 'respectful'of the hurricane victims by seizing the opportunity for a good media dump.  nice!!
I feel for Sarah and her family. To all parents, Republicans and Democrats alike... "NEVER SAY NEVER" when it comes to the possibility of becoming a grandparent before your time. At least Sarah's daughter is going to choose the right path, marry the guy and more than likely stay off the welfare program, which is what most Democrats love to support.
When is first read going to report Palin's pastor problem?
