The DNC’s independent expenditure unit has gone up with its first TV ad, the
Atlantic Monthly’s Marc Ambinder reports. “Confirming the state's status as contested, the DNC's independent expenditure is running an ad in Michigan that casts Sen. John McCain as out of touch on the economy, and just like President Bush. The ad features video of both Bush and McCain calling the ‘fundamentals’ of the economy ‘strong.’ Then, a narrator intones: ‘Michigan is struggling, but some people don't seem to notice.” More: “A DNC spokesman says the ad will air in Detroit, Flint-Saginaw, Grand Rapids- Kalamzoo, Lansing, Traverse City, Marquette, and Alpena starting on Thursday, Sept 4.”
Obama yesterday
latched onto McCain campaign manager Rick Davis saying this campaign was not about issues. "If you've got George Bush's track record, and John McCain voting 90 percent of the time in agreement with George Bush, then you probably don't want to talk about issues either," Obama said.
Obama is
scheduled to appear on O'Reilly tonight. He then appears on MSNBC's Countdown on Monday.
