Biden's demotion for Palin?

Posted: Thursday, September 04, 2008 3:40 PM by Mark Murray

From NBC/NJ's Mike Memoli
Campaigning in Virginia today, Biden accidentally demoted Palin from governor to lieutenant governor.

"And the other thing I heard, I heard a very -- by the way, I mean this sincerely -- a very strong and a very good political speech from a lieutenant governor of Alaska, who I think is going to be very formidable, very formidable... But I was equally impressed by what I didn’t hear, what I didn’t hear in the speech."

Biden's slip ups always make for good fodder.  Like in his convention floor speech "George...I mean John McCain".  Gotta like Joe Biden!
Is this one of those "scurrilous attacks and empty allegations" the McCain/Palin campiagn was talking about? Or...why is this news again?

Obama'08
Well she DID hire a city manager to basically do her job in Wasilla, so who's to say she didn't do the same thing as Governor?
I saw the same speech. I understand his confusion.

Did you see the Republican Convention Co-Chair who called her Sarah Pawlenty?
As usual, Biden doesn't know what he's talking about. Why anyone listens to him is a mystery. Just like with Obama, Joe is to self-absorbed with himself to check and verify what someone writes in his speeches.
So what!  She means even less than that to a majority of women in this country.

She is a republican plain and simple, nothing new here to see.  We have been looking at Palin for 8 years, only now we notice she is wearing a skirt.
And this is a noteworthy because . . .??  Wow.  What about her banning of books in the library?  Earmarks?  Look I'll do your work for you go here please!:

Give us some real news and insight for crying out loud!

Will this now be the next part of Joe's speech where he mistakenly calls McCain "Bush". That is the funniest line, but it gets old after about the ninety-eighth time you hear it.
...did anyone else see the unfortunate picture on the front page of CNN's website showing Palin looking like Hitler? She had her arm straight up at an angle.

I'm not making any insinuations.... it was just an unfortunately timed picture .... Hiel!
That will make her mad Big Joe be careful.
Oops. People were expecting Biden to make a few mistakes like this. I think his mind moves a little too fast for his mouth sometimes. Thank goodness it wasn't (in my mind) a serious error.
Biden: "But I was equally impressed by what I didn’t hear, what I didn’t hear in the speech"

See Joe, speeches need to end after about 30-40 minutes, else the audience gets a little restless. I know you stand up on the stage and can bellow out a speech that covers everything for hours on end, but you know what Joe, no one's listening.
Love this guy! Another freudian slip... Keep 'em coming Joey!
Compared to what Palin said about Barack and Biden last night - so what?
Once again partisan politics at their best.

For the rest of the country, we just like to talk issues and ignore all the negative attacks and fighting.

Wake us up for election day.
An obvious slip of the tongue, not a prepared remark or attempted joke; unlike what McCain said of Chelsea Clinton and Janet Reno which crossed the line by a mile.Look it up and you'll be outraged.
Perfect - he give her the benefit of the doubt.

I love you Joe Biden.

Thank you and GOD BLESS AMERICA
New News FR:

Georgia Republican Rep. Lynn Westmoreland used the racially-tinged term "uppity" to describe Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama Thursday.

Westmoreland was discussing vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's speech with reporters outside the House chamber and was asked to compare her with Michelle Obama.

"Just from what little I’ve seen of her and Mr. Obama, Sen. Obama, they're a member of an elitist-class individual that thinks that they're uppity," Westmoreland said.

Asked to clarify that he used the word “uppity,” Westmoreland said, “Uppity, yeah.”

Other Democrats have charged that the Republican campaign to paint the Illinois senator as an “elitist” is racially charged, and accused them of using code words for “uppity” without using the word itself.

In August, Rep. Shelley Berkley (D-Nev.) told reporters, “When I hear the word ‘elitist’ linked with Barack Obama, to me, that is a code word for 'uppity.' I find it extremely offensive and John McCain should know better.”

Just not a big fact, but a fact nevertheless---somebody run down the last time, and for how long, her son played hockey.  Thought I read earlier that even that was a pretty significant overstatement.  This is NOT to pick on the poor kid, but to 'right-size' this new Queen of Mean.
How about dog catcher.  OOps wait a minute shes's a pit bull with lipstick.
And they say McCain has senior moments. Joe's hairplugs must have been tightened in the last couple of days for this to happen.
Biden's senior moment...
I listened to both the DNC and now the RNC and I didn't hear specifics in either event.  I don't expect specifics at a convention.  Telling me you'll creat 5 million new jobs, isn't a specific.  I have been following politics for years and I know both sides will promise a lot, but I don't expect they'll deliver on 90% of it.  I'm not negative just realistic.  We have a congress and no president just waves his hand and it all gets done.  I'd like a president that simply says do for yourself, and we'll try and stay out of your way!  Good luck self :)
I HAVE NOT BEEN THIS EXCITED ABOUT AN ELECTION SINCE I CAST MY VOTE FOR ANOTHER GREAT COMMUNICATOR, PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN!!! HIS LEGACY WILL LIVE ON IN GOVERNOR PALIN!!! WHAT A GREAT SPEACH!!! MSNBC YOU WILL NOT POST THIS BUT YOU ALL ARE PATHETIC..ATTACKING A WOMANS FAMILY. GOV. PALIN HANDLED YOU JUST LIKE PRESIDENT REAGAN!!!
What does it matter if he slipped up on her title? Did it cost anyone their life? No. John McCain can't even remember the difference between Sunni and Shia and has made verbal blunder after blunder, much to the disinterest of the mainstream media
Whatever she is the GOP is stuck with her.
Oh! by the way Cindy McCain needs a makeover as does Sarah Palin, actually on second thout leave them as they are and they are not real great actors..
Senator Biden perhaps her actual performance was that of a Lt Gov.

Just remember what she did say.."Pit Bull with lipstick".  This is an incredible remark from a mother of five (Family First, GOP and all).  Her hubby and kids must be absolutely frightened of her.  She certainly was foaming at the mouth last night, so make her EAT her words!
Palin really got biden shook up! He had better get it together. She will eat his lunch....
LOL!  Did he call her a Shiite when he meant Sunni?  Did he call her Checkoslavia? I suppose when McCain and Bush do it-its misspeaking, but when it Obama or Biden its a big deal.  Oh this is hilarious.  Maybe you meant it that way...that it was just a funny gaffe...but we know the McCain divisive machine will twist it out of proportion.  They need to stop crying wolf....we aren't buying it anymore.
"Corporal governor" would be more appropriate.
I did not hear anything about me, the voter.
Gosh you guys are slow.
The cut and paste paragraph does not make any sence.  Please post the whole speech.

Thanks
Wow...  But given how long she has been in office, I can't say I am surprised.  The Republicans have been doing that all week as well.  Pawlenty confused the titles on Meet the Press.  There was at least one mistake last night as well.
"Raise my taxes". That what it cost to live in a free society. How the heck do you think we are going to pay China from Bush fail policies and wars if taxes are not raised. You sick repukes get a life and stop trying to live mine.

Also, we don't need another pitbull in the white house barking at "American whiners"

After spending 33 years in the military and now a community organizer that B****ch is an insult to my intelligents.
You gotta laugh to keep from crying.  From LarkNews.com, this tongue-in-cheek "report":

McCain would appoint 12-year-old Christian girl as Secretary of State

ST. PAUL — The reaction to John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin for vice presidential nominee has been so positive among grass-roots conservatives that the McCain campaign is quickly moving to name even more young evangelical leaders to a potential McCain cabinet.
Yesterday John McCain stood next to Meghan Crandall and announced he would appoint the 12-year-old Girl Scout as Secretary of State, should he win the election.
"She’s a beautiful Christian girl with a lot of spunk and promise," he said. "She has demonstrated strong executive leadership as student leader of Girl Scout troupe 312 and proven toughness selling cookies door to door."
Given Crandall’s strong faith and church-going family, evangelicals were immediately ecstatic over the choice.
"I was in tears jumping up and down when I heard she would be appointed," gushed one housewife from Missouri. "She is such a strong believer. She reminds me of my own daughter who is very active in Awana. I think she’ll do a wonderful job of running the State Department."
Being considered for chief of staff: precocious 13-year-old Danny Anderson, a Bible Quiz champion and burgeoning leader at Pleasant Oaks Christian School in Pittsburgh, Pa.
And for the Supreme Court McCain says he would strongly consider Judy Brumford, a 43-year-old Sunday school teacher from Cleveland, given her "years of Bible knowledge, common sense and experience running the Sunday school department."
As for Crandall, "She’s an energizing pick and we are confident she will grow into the job," says a campaign spokesman.
It will be funny when Obama run ads of the millions of Habitat for Humanity homes built by community organizers.  Governor Palin thinks her $27 million in Wasilla earmarks were more important the the millions of homes built by community organizers like Habitat for Humanity.

That's right America, Palin is proud of her work to secure $27 million for a town of less than 7000 people.  However, she thinks Habitat for Humanity doesn't do any real work.
First Read, please report this!

Reverend Hagee, friend of McCain, denounces Todd Palin as a stay at home dad, as worse than an infidel:

So what?  Does no one else make a minor mistake in speech on occasion ... oooh, Sigmund would be verrry interested
I think this is the first of many accidents from Biden. Talk about "out-of-touch" politicians.
Apparently Joe has a tendency to forget facts--some little and some big.  Like when he accepted Obama's offer to be his VP and became Obama's biggest promoter only a short while after he had very clearly told the country that Obama was not ready to lead ("the presidency is not given to on-the-job training" ...paraphrased) during the primaries.  Was that a "mistake" also?  Or is this politics at its ugliest and most typical?
Who cares?
Sexism!
You just gotta love Joe, don't you? As Bill Clinton would say......What a hoot!
As usual, the Democrats' (as mirrored by the left wing media)condescending attitude towards women. Look at what they did to Sen. Hilary Clinton!  Derailed her ambitions and squashed her like a bug!  Now they are trying to do the same thing to Gov. Sarah Palin.  Newsflash to those 18 million women who supported Hilary, wake -up!!! The Dem. Party doesn't care for women to crack that ceiling.  This party is only interested in keeping you all down, but will allow you to do the dirty work of attacking your own female human species.
Nope, no demotion.  Just another Boo-Boo from Bullwinkle.
Should Biden really be one heartbeat away from the Presidency?  He seems to have some mental impairment affecting his memory...but then Obama does the same thing.  If they every have any q's about national security, like the Georgia situation for instance, or that Governor Palin was the Governor of Alaska, what could they do?  Hmmm, let me think, oh I have an idea, how about his:  Call John McCain!
THAT LIPSTICK JOKE IS SO OLD....
TRY AGAIN...

NOTHING IN THE "SARAH-BELLUM"???
Keep stoking the Fire Joey!!! Just remember a pit bull with lipstick!!
