Wow, I'm donating another $100 to Obama's campaign. We cannot afford 4 more years of this crap.

I want a republican to tell me the reason we can't fund the public school system to make it more effective. If we are paying taxes toward the public schools, then why isn't it not being used effectively. I don't understand the reason for paying for vochers and charter schools when we can use that money to adequately fund the public school.

That will not stick, sorry Obama about is all about family while McCain left his wife after she had a car accident for money.

Vouchers are just plain wrong. Public money should never, ever be used for private education. Improving the PUBLIC education systems should always be the #1 priority.

Can't trust a thing John McCain or Sarah Palin can say.

Maybe if someone had taught Bristol sex ed or abstinence as proclaimed within a "christian family values household" she wouldn't have to make the choice to keep a child at 17 as a still as yet unwed teen mother. The McCain camp does have a position on this issue and, like the Obama camp, they will reveal it when they get ready. Obama wasn't talking education a week ago...or even a day ago for that matter. If this is the issue of the day, then give the other side their chance to put their thoughts out there.

Also, it is so very important for us to realize a few things about education and our government and each one's respective role in relationship to the other. Education is the key to freedom, the key to change, the key to tomorrow. No one argues that. Higher education is very under appreciated and over pushed in this country. I remember my college years with great fondness. I went to school on an academic scholarship that paid all but my housing, which I took out loans to secure. I also remember that the things that were most important to me during that time were NOT my education. Sadly, I, like so many college aged kids, enjoyed those years and spent them trying to figure out who I was and why. Even with the academic scholarship I was able to take advantage of, I racked up thousands of dollars in student loans and still ended up back in my parent's house when school was finished.

We do not do enough in this country to emphasize that a)not everyone NEEDS a four year degree. Our proud, hard working middle class blue collar jobs no longer exist, making it imperative that students continue their education after high school, however, not all are cut out to be students. As others have said, it is not a right, it is a privilege. And b)how we manage our resources, be it time, money or talent/skill is just as important as the formal training we go through to achieve them.

Bottom line, the federal government is not responsible for what should be a personal responsibility. It does take a village (trust me, I appreciate the one that is helping me to raise three small children on my own), but that village should not be in the form of mandated government opportunity/control, but rather we should again learn to rely on our neighbors, our communities, our families, our churches and civic organizations that are set up to give each citizen both a place to serve others and a way to receive the help we need to come together as a people to progress to a better tomorrow.

However McCain is not denying Obama's claims and he still has yet to tell us what his Education policy will be?  All this represents are more attacks on Obama with no real substance outlining their differences.  I tought we were promised a different type of race from 2000 & 2004.  Guess that promise went down the drain.

why can't the media push the mccain camp to lay out there proposals and ideas instead of constantly attacking the other side...are Americans that stupid to not see through the bull...I can't understand how people can blindly support a candidate based on party loyalty or gender loyalty...how bout voting with your mind and your heart...and stick with the issues.

Naturally McCain says NOTHING of HIS education plan. I wonder why? Is it because it is so comlpex us ordinary folks wouldn't "get it"? No, it's because he doesn't have one. And if his support to Bush is any indication, any plan he came up with would not be funded properly so that the Oil companies could get more Tax Breaks. A "real" Maverick!

Where is the Obama Ad? How come FR has no problem posting all of McCain's negative ads? Fair and balanced?

I do not know much about the content of this ad and I stay up with developments. But based on the many lies that come from the McCain campaign I would not trust it to be accurate.

The McCain campaign as well as Sarah Palin are one huge lie machine.
