Obama: Retooling after the Palin bounce

Posted: Tuesday, September 16, 2008 9:27 AM by Domenico Montanaro

The retooling of the Obama message is the focus of this Washington Post story: "After a string of tactical successes by McCain and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, over the past two weeks, the Obama campaign sought to regain its footing on Monday. The shift followed a series of internal meetings, including a rare Sunday evening session at the campaign's Chicago headquarters that Obama attended. Advisers reinforced the division of labor in the days ahead: Obama will articulate the campaign's broader message of ‘change’ and outline how the Democratic ticket will govern, while Biden will deliver attacks against the GOP ticket, drawing on his 30-year-old relationship with McCain to undercut the Arizona senator's standing, especially among working-class voters."

More: "The Obama campaign is seeking to address a range of festering problems, including the candidate's persistent underperformance among female voters, especially the older ones. It rolled out a women's outreach effort Monday, led by scores of prominent female entrepreneurs, athletes and politicians, including former secretary of state Madeleine K. Albright, cosmetics entrepreneur Bobbi Brown and Yahoo! Inc. President Sue Decker.”

“The women will act as surrogates for Obama, advocating his support for issues such as equal pay, expansion of family leave and reduction of health care costs. Prominent women also are flooding the airwaves on Obama's behalf, including Sen. Claire McCaskill (Mo.), Govs. Janet Napolitano of Arizona and Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas, and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (Fla.), a former Hillary Rodham Clinton backer."

Time's Grunwald looks at the issue of race for Obama -- particularly in the Rust Belt states -- and concludes that he should not listen to those telling him to get angry. "Obama is probably wise to ignore the liberals who keep begging him to drop his air of unflappability and start taking Republican scalps. White America already embraces black celebrities, even ‘flashy’ ones. But it has never really warmed up to an angry one."

While McCain has received a lot of scrutiny for false or misleading ads, the Washington Post argues that Obama’s advertisement hitting McCain for ex-lobbyists working in his campaign is unfair because it says that adviser Charlie Black “lobbies for oil companies,” when he actually LOBBIED for them. “It is fair for the Obama campaign to draw attention to the fact that McCain is surrounded by advisers who ‘have lobbied’ for special interests in the past. (The McCainites point out that some of Obama's advisers are also former lobbyists.) Use of the present tense is out of bounds, however.”

Biden VP cadidate, all over the morning talk shows..looking strong and tough!
Where is Ms.Palin?
Parakeet Palin REALLY needs a new speech… this one is as old & tired as she is…same old Republican song and dance. Once again we get the shtick ‘thanks but no thanks’ even though it’s been proven it’s an outright LIE!  But then again that’s all they have to offer – NOTHING! DO THEY REALLY THINK THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS NEEDED TO WIN ARE THAT STUPID??

BTW – I was out canvassing DEEP in supposed McCain territory this weekend in Southern Wisconsin and was pleasantly surprised at the number of Obama supporters – regardless of the lawn signs that proclaimed ‘Democrats for McCain’ and my personal favorite:

‘Families for McCain’… yeah riiiight… the party of family values my a@@!!

So Chuck T can say all he wants about Wisconsin being a ‘toss up’ trust me it’s going ROYAL BLUE this year. I have been there every Sat for the last month and plan to continue helping out my neighbors from now until election day!

It’s easy to sit in a chair in front of a camera all the time and repeat the ‘talking points’ that have been handed to you (since there’s not a journalist out there that really GOES after a story)… So say what you want… but I’m out talking to the ACTUAL voters there in WI – and they are voting for Barack Obama!!

And a quick SHOUT OUT to my group last Sat – NICE JOB!

Obama/Biden – This is OUR TIME!
Way to go, Obama!  Keep clubbing Mclame over the head with the economy while Biden just keeps clubbing them over the head, and Women's Outreach shows how much more favorable your plans are for women than Mclame's.  HIT 'EM HARD!!!

Dear Mornin’ Joe

You may never read this, but I felt compelled to write after viewing part of you show this morning.
You put up a poll that 32% of a portion of Ohio felt Palin was like them.  You added your normal rant about the Dems being elitist, (TRYING TO HANG ON TO THAT WORD) and that Palin was like America; which is why criticizing her will make the reps win.

Sir, criticizing Obama is why he had a record donation amount in August.  After the shameful spectacle at the Reps convention where lies and divisive hate was spewed from almost every speaker, you will see another good month for Obama.

32% of those polled in Ohio may think Palin is like them, and those 32% KNOW they are NOT qualified to run the country, so you can look at that two ways Joe.

Also, Palin is not untouchable, like you wish she could be.  She deserves all the wonderful scrutiny that the others, especially Obama, have received.

This life long Republican will be voting for the Dem ticket this year.
McCain is not qualified to be president, let alone Palin!
Top Ten Democratic Comments on Obama

1. "Shame on you, Barack Obama. … Enough with the speeches and the big rallies
and then sing tactics that are right out of Karl Rove's playbook."
—Hillary Clinton, Feb. 2, 2008, speech

2. "This whole thing is the biggest fairy tale I've ever seen."
—Bill Clinton, Jan. 8, 2008, at Dartmouth College.

3. "I think he can be ready but right now, I don't believe he is. The presidency
is not something that lends itself to on-the-job-training."
—Joe Biden, responding to a question this year on whether Barack Obama was ready
to be President.

4. "So you decide which makes more sense: Entrust our country to someone who is
ready on day one … Or to put America in the hands of someone with little
national or international experience, who started running for President the day
he arrived in the U.S. Senate."
—Hillary Clinton, from a Dec. 3, 2007, speech.

5. "When this campaign is over, political slogans like 'experience' and 'change'
will mean absolutely nothing. The next President has to act."
—Joe Biden, in a campaign ad before the Iowa caucus

6. "Well, you know, Sen. Obama, it is very difficult having a straight-up debate
with you because you never take responsibility for any vote, and that has been a
pattern."
—Hillary Clinton at the Jan. 21, 2008, Democratic candidate debate.

7. "The more people learn about them [Obama and Hillary] and how they handle the
pressure, the more their support will evaporate."
—Joe Biden in an interview with the Huffington Post website.

8. "I know Sen. McCain has a lifetime of experience that he will bring to the
White House. And Sen. Obama has a speech he gave in 2002."
—Hillary Clinton in a March 2008 campaign commercial.

9. "See, Barack's been talking down to black people … I want to cut his nu—s
off."
—Jesse Jackson, speaking, he thought, off-mic July 6 while on Fox News.

10. "Now, I could stand up here and say, 'Let's just get everybody together.
Let's get unified.' The skies will open, the light will come down, celestial
choirs will be singing and everyone will know we should do the right thing and
the world will be perfect."
—Hillary Clinton, mocking Obama at a Feb. 23, 2008, rally.
Obama is trying to reinvent himself, yet again, but this time it won't work. Any time we see Obama's liberal friends in the media be critical of Palin's experience (she has more then Obama), her commitment to change (she has a proven track record, Obama does not), Palin's leadership (she's a governor, Obama is a guy that only runs for the next higher office), her personal life (Palin's story is much more interesting then Obama's). So any time Obama is critical of Palin and questions her abilities, the spotlight gets turned right back him and shows his total lack of qualifications.
The debates will be a key to this thing. Hopefully Obama plans to bring up McCain's opposition to Social Security.

McCain called its funding - which hasn't changed since the system was set up in, what, 1925? - a "disgrace." Older voters need to understand McCain seemingly has no interest in maintaining Social Security in anything like a form resembling what its been for decades.

And as for the economy, just keep reminding voters that a) McCain's economic advisor thinks we're whiners, b) McCain first said he doesn't understand the economy, and c) McCain then repeatedly said its fundamentals are strong... but we should trust him to meet the economic challenges ahead... challenges that certainly have been at a minimum excacerbated by the same Republican policies he once criticized and now full-throatedly supports?

That's pretty much case closed.
I think another important women's issue is the fact that in the first term of the next President, we very well may see the new President appointing two new Supreme Court Justices.  If this isn't a huge factor for women, I don't know what is.   I am all for a woman in the White House-but I would much rather keep fighting for my right to choose, a fight that has been going on for decades.  We've come too far to just let the desires I have negatively factor what we've fought for.
Retool again, Obama.  And again.  and again.

Hope for change didn't work.  Hope for the energy fairy didn't, either.

Whining didn't work.  Yammering and attack ads didn't work, either.

I somehow don't believe bringing your security blancket, er, teleprompter, on the trail will work, either.

Face it, dems, you nominated another loser.  What's worse, party leadership knew it.  They had a choice, and they chose to go out on a limb with a candidate who brings to the table his experience of running for office in this dangerous world.  Brilliant.

Now he's trotting out MADELINE ALBRIGHT as proof of his ineptitude in world affairs.  Those of us not asleep during the Clinton years KNOW what a contribution she made to the mess our foreign policy was during that time.  Great move, Barack.

I'm no plagiarist, but I don't remember whose line this is: don't go awary mad, Barack.  Just go away.
Why does a so called "maverick" like John McCain need to embrace the tactics of distortion, of outright lies in the current political race that looks as if it has become as down and dirty as any election in recent years?  Doesn't a maverick refuse to join the herd, to march to a different drummer?  If John McCain has already employed the tactics of the last eight years of the Bush administration (lies and deceit as in Iraq's WMD or that Iraq was responsible for 9/11), hasn't McCain already shown that his administration (should he win the election) will simply be a continuation of the untruths and distortions that are a hallmark of George Bush and Company?

Obama is not going to get every single person to vote form him he needs to focus on the 2/3 that will and the others shop somewhere else.
The one tact that Obama has not tried yet is humor.  Ya, he or the campaign may do one funny line against McCain - but they never repeat it.

Obama should get actors that look like McCain and Palin and put them in nursing home setting with McCain as the resident and Palin as the nurse.  As Palin is feeding McCain with a spoon, McCain says, "We are the real Mavericks, right?" and the Palin candidate says, "Oh, absolutely" And other spoonful goes in.  McCain says, Then McCain says "And you said thanks but no thanks to the brigde to nowhere, right"  And she says "Absolutely"  And spoon os food to McCain.  Then a voice says, "For 21 century problems, we need 21st century solutions"  I am Barack Obama and I approve this message.
The Obama campaign has had the exact same message for Day 1.

They have talked about the issues.

They have released detailed plans.

They have been proven right on both the foreign and domestic policy front.

But you would never know it if you get all of your information from the corporate media.

Despite having a consistent and clear message for TWO YEARS, the media STILL says "Obama needs to focus on the issues."

No.

The media needs to FOCUS on Barack Obama and Joe Biden focusing on the issues.

Just because you don't report it doesn't mean it's not happening.

Regardless of the outcome of this election - the corporate media as a model for accurate reporting has been proven EXTREMELEY INEFFECTIVE.

And that's me trying to be nice.

The McCain campaign lies daily, and we are told that the Obama camapaign is "going negative" when they respond.

The McCain campaign is running AGAINST everything they have stood FOR for over 20 years, and we are told he is a "maverick" who "reaches across the aisle.

This campaign is the most shameless display of pure propaganda in the history of "democracy".

And hundreds of "newsmen and newswomen" are standing impotently by and watching it happen.

So much for the "information age". So much for "journalism". So much for "the truth".

Our country used to mean something, now everyone thinks its a game. Who's winning? Who's losing? What do the polls say?

Well the score is :

America: 0

LIARS: 50 + and counting

Who knew "one of us" meant liars and cheats? I thought more of my "fellow Americans".
Obama & Biden need to get control of the air waves and press coverage.

How about something BIG? --- ie:  a big rally with Bill and/or Hillary AND Obama and Biden.   A show of unity and strength on stage.....present a WINNING image.

Where is Bob Wexler?   Where is John Kerry and Al Gore and Bill Richardson?     John Kerry was fantastic at the Democratic Convention --- he didn't seem to get much air play.

Get everybody out there and make sure the networks cover it!!

OBAMA/BIDEN '08
Barack Obama has tried to run an honorable campaign, but the constant lies, distortions etc of his opponents has made that impossible.
Rather than talk about issues, policies, the
republicans have once again resorted to carl
rove tactics of dirty politicing.
It will not work this time as the American people
are smart enough to vote for substance, rather
than fraud.
I predict Monday was a turning point in the polls. Watch Obama/Biden take the lead and keep it!
Sorry, Obama, but I've seen these women surrogates. They are so nasty, bitter; they won't change the mind of anybody who has made a choice.

Agree that Obama camp needs to tell the truth about lobbyists on McCain's team, former lobbyists that is. And, Obama has lobbyists as advisors but he won't release his list. What are you hiding, Obama?  You can't have it both ways.  Let Joe talk about how horrible lobbyists are; he can talk very personally about that since his son has been one until a couple of days ago.  Did you all force him to quit?

I find it hilarious when I hear Biden say McCain has been in Washington for 26 years and hasn't changed things. BS. He has a proven track record of reform.  But, the funniest part is that Biden has been their 36 years. You have to ask what he did in all that time.  And, if these things were SO bad, why didn't Obama do something about it in the senate?  Oh, but, he would have actually had to been there more than 143 days out of the last 3-3/4 years to actually produce something.

If I'm looking at the record, the change I can believe in is from two people who have produced change:  McCain and Palin.  Biden's been there 36 years and hasn't done it and Obama hasn't done it either.  Little hard to make change in IL when he voted "present" 130 times.

Let's talk about earmarks. Biden released his lsit for this year.  $392M. But, he hasn't released his past record.  Gee, wonder why?  But, let's look at Obama's.  Remember he has worked in the Senate 143 days. In that time, he requested $932M in earmarks...that's $6.5 M for each day he "worked".  And, $1 M of that was for his WIFE'S EMPLOYER. Shortly after, she got a big raise and promotion. Hmmm.....and who claims he'll be "transparent".
I am sorry but why are you media types so quick to defend McCain? You do not call McCain on his nasty ad you only slightly mention them and then move on in your commentary.

Grundwald is right Obama cannot get angry, just more passionate. Unfortunately 'white' voters will use everything they can to use this against him if he does. The man is smart. However, the campaign besides launching these very powerful women should also send them out there with a economic plan - just one good one is all they need and the voters will cease on it.

Obama leave the negative mud slinging alone - leave the half truths alone, there is more power in telling the truth than the lies. Eventually they will set you free.
This morning on Today Meredith asked Joe Biden if he change his mind about Mccain's character.  Biden said not his character, his campaign.  I say it's definetly Mccains sleezy dishonest campaign, And also his character.  Even Karl Rove said he is lying about Obama in his campaign adds.  Mccain is equivilent to what the media accused Hillary of in the primaries.  "He thinks he is owed the presidency, because he was in Vietnam and a prisoner of war.  " To use his pow situation for political gain is cheapening his military service' and using it as a crutch to win the white house.  Many brave men fought in that war and ended up alot worse off than him.  "I believe in calling a spade a spade."  Mccain is a selfish old man who knows this is his last chance to become president; and he thinks this country owes him a favor.  How many more banks have to fail before Bush & McBush get it?
Sorry, Obama, its too late!  You were doomed from the beginning, and you lost any chance by not picking Hillary as your VP - with Hillary as your VP, there would be no Palin bounce, because there would not be any Palin, and all Hillary supporters who were going McCain woudl come back home.

Obama's utter arrogance lost the Dems the election.
The Obama campaign must utilize the Clintons and should promise a prominent role for Hillary in his administration, although that might still not be enough to counter the bigger mistake of not choosing her in the first place.
Dems are the party of change, not lies.  We'll leave that to the conversatives.  That ad needs to be revised or taken down.

We can win with truth and on the issues.
Everybody I have some news for you about this so called Palin bounce...  First let me tell you that I think it is a shame that our country would be willing to elect liars into the whitehouse.  McCain has had multiple affairs on his first wife and one known affair while married to Cindy McCain.  How can we elect a guy who lies to his wife and children.  McCain is running a large part of his campaign on family values but is that not being a little two faced?  If you do not believe me then go to youtube and search for exclusive interviews that McCain has given about his past extra marital affairs.  McCain has also being lying to the american people about Barack Obama's character, policies, and where he stands on numerous issues.  Now folks, John McCain is a saint compared to Sarah Palin.  Palin has told bold faced lies about earmarks, the jet she sold on ebay, her experience, and numerous lies about Obama.  Palin also has been lying about her family life.  I know Obama said that family was off limits but you all should see this:
http://ec2-67-202-54-198.compute-1.amazonaws.com/
Wow!  This GOP ticket just got screwed.  We just started to get to know Palin and the more I find out the more I panic.

America... Do you really want to put liars in office?  Do you really want to take a chance on a McCain/Palin ticket?  Even if we take McCain at his word and we think he is an honest man... just look at what he is saying.  Almost all his policies are the same as Bush's.  That right there should be enough to scare the hell out of you.  Take John McCain at his word or not... you still can not trust him.

Obama may be risky to some but at least he is refreshing change.  I believe in him and as a school teacher that loves children and the community... he has more than earned my vote.  Yes Obama bring change that I can believe in, change I can have faith in, and change that I can trust!
I'm really glad obama is getting people to focus back on the issues especially after what happened on wall street. i still believe obama should put hillary on the efforts to get back the women his losing to palin. those women are only going to mccain and palin because they want a woman in the oval office so bad! but hillary and obama need to pull mccains card for pulling his palin stunt and let those women know that palin is noooo hillary. palin is just a politcal stunt!
======================================================
White America only embraces Black celebrities so long as they entertain.  The truth is that they will see Obama as an "Angry Black Man" no matter what he does (too presumptuous, too presidential, too arrogant, radical muslim, etc.).  I believe he should attack the Republican lies with the TRUTH.  He doesn't need to get angry, or even lie, but he shouldn't just hunker down and hope that "intelligent Americans" (an oxymoron if there ever was one) will somehow figure it out for themselves.  Poll numbers show that a majority are buying into the McCain/Palin B.S. Express (mainly because they need an excuse not to vote for a Black man) and Obama needs to hit them with a cold dash of reality.

Obama/Biden '08!
NEWS CONFERENCES FOR PALIN!!!!  NEWS CONFERENCES FOR PALIN!!!!  NEWS CONFERENCES FOR PALIN!!!  If she keeps running away from news conferences with the national press corp, they should stop covering her rallies and all appearances!  What are you afraid of, that you aren't qualified???
The Washington Post - lol.  How can you believe any thing in the Washington Post or the NYT when they are so obviously backing/defending/making excusses for Obama.  They have no creditability.
McCain's top economic advisor, Douglas Holtz-Eakin, claimed that McCain created the blackberry. I'M NOT KIDDING!!

I cant understand a problem with the older women, I
am 62 white female, in the red state of S.C. have voted republican untill 2004, I know feel like the fool I was enableing the GOP. I knew they were lying about wmd and Iraq at the very begining, All that is long past and we must get on with it, If the republicans had got thier way social security would
have been privatized by now and yesterday would have
left many older folks in dire straights. I have seen my neighbors and family members lose thier jobs, one nephew just last week, he has 3 girls and a mortgage,
they will be trying to live off his wifes salary.
I work at a company that doesnt pay me what it pays
the men who do the same job I do. Family owned company in a right to work state.  So heaven help us all as you old women out there go and vote for the same ole thing over and over.

I think the signs of 2000 & 2004 elections is coming back to play in the 2008 election. I guess people were used to the good economy of the 90s(it will be forever mentality) that they bought into the lies, smears and deceit of Bush campaigns of the past 2 elections. This year, we even see in greater proportions more of the same tactics used then,I wonder, whether it is another sign of even a greater fall, failure and destruction of this country. Remember, empires fall and destroy when they start separating themselves as:"some of us are above the law and we are better off than some".

Imagine, if parents around this country who work so hard everyday mismanage their family fund, do not balance there bills with how much money they earn(regulate themselves to meet their obligations) and their kids/social worker/church/teachers/principals/doctors-nurses/lawyers/bankers/real estate agent/news caster/pharmacist/farmers and so on LIES to them everyday and cares less what ever happens them, on to complain, but forgot that they encouraged it. Imagine if the people that will be leading this country and the world at large can not simple tell truth, how many more lies the will continue to say to cover their lies. It only takes once to say the TRUTH & LIE, it takes forever to cover the lies(as lies begets lies) and only once for TRUTH to consistently remain. If a president says he does not understand the economy should say enough about what will he then do if given the opportunity, NOTHING, rather he will put in place those that have helped develop his economic policies, who by the way are also those that spear-headed policies/bills that has lead us to where we are. Down 1 plane, we would give you another chance, down the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th, we think you are doing great, only if we have given you a bigger plane, maybe you can do better.I guess this says it all why learning is a bit difficult and some would rather prefer to be called un-educated and making less and being taking advantage of, and still care less about the danger facing the country as a whole, than about an individual or a group, guess who loses, ALL.

I think people that doesn't think that all what we see, hear and read is enough for us to run away from the same policies that has gotten us to where we are, should be prepared for more collapse, cronyism and above the law pack that will be coming our way. Maybe, it is another way for the global world order to correct itself (free market doctrine). I know that the world is watching and countries that have lost in the past few years are strategizing on what divides us than what unites, and they will be feeding gradually into those things in the coming years.

FR, I know you are trying to portray the truth, but I guess this truth needs to be told, otherwise, a well dedicated time put into the above should be spent doing something else, if you do not post this.
What kind of fool do I have to be?

What made Americans blind? — I just want to know.
Is the voting thing for real or is it just for show?
What did Nine-Eleven find? — Did, hate’s voters grow?
Did they sell us on this deal or are we deaf and slow?

Fool me the first time, claim your shame.
Fool me a second, I take blame.
Take a fool to school before strike three,
Gotta  pay to play in today’s smear game.
Cast my vote for you, keeps me free?
What kind of fool, do I have to be?
What kind of fool, do I have to be?

We had a constitution — at least, I thought so.
Did we vote for its repeal? — Where did it go?
China wants restitution for the tax-cut-tow,
Bush borrowed on our seal, - loans, on the down-low.

We had a forth-estate, which once reported news,
It now spends our time, counting reds and blues.
We had some real-estate that once paid our dues
But now deeds to parks, are used when China sues.

Freedoms we hold dear, while holding different views,
And we want to make it clear, we don’t plan to lose.
Making our votes matter, above all the chatter,
Elections are on issues, better care whom you choose.

VOTERS--90% voting agreement w/G.W. Bush, didn't vote  for latest GI Bill to aid veterans when they come home, even though Sen. Jim Webb, D-VIRGINIA, tried multiple times to contact/work with him, showing judgement about his V.P. choice after a few hours of vetting, and his campaign spokesman admitting that the campaign will say anything because "...we're here to win.".  Who could we possibly be talking about?  Why JOHN MCCAIN!!
--"White America already embraces black celebrities, even ‘flashy’ ones. But it has never really warmed up to an angry one."--

I'm not sure how I feel about the wording of that observation, although it may be true.

At any rate, I personally believe Barack does need to take a more aggressive stance against the misrepresentation of his and his opponents records.
It doesn't seem to matter what Obama does, the media finds fault with it. You have had him down and out more times than I can count. Now you want to report and make a big deal out of his fund raising. He has consistenly been talking about the issues when he hasn't had to defend himself from the scurilous attacks of McCain yet you don't report it. I haven't heard a word about McCain's big fund celebrity fundraiser he had a few days ago or the one Palin attended last night in Ohio. She can't talk to the media to answer questions about her qualifications or anything but she can go to a fund raiser...of course she didn't raise much money, maybe $1 million isn't enough to brag about...that may change though. It will probably go up like the size of her crowds do.
The media is letting her get a free ride just like they are McCain. He can lie and get away with it, no one calls him on it, he trashes Mika this morning and no one calls him on it. Even Chris Matthews defended him the other day by saying he just didn't think McCain really believed Obama was calling Palin a pig. Then McCain said he did think it... Now he says he didn't. Makes me wonder if he is getting senile. So no I don't think Obama is retooling I think he is continuing just like always, I think his plan is going just like he had it in mind, you just weren't privy to his plan and can't second guess it. Your polls are so skewed it isn't funny. You need to read and look at what is really going on. Palin isn't as popular as you think she is. Real Wal Mart women like me don't like her.
I DO THINK SOMEONE SHOULD GET THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN TO ADDRESS WOMEN MORE,ABOUT HEALTH CARE(SOMEONE NEEDS TO ADDRESS THE COST,EVEN IF YOU HAVE THE PORTABILITY,IF YOU WORK FOR A SMALL COMPANY AND TRY TO USE COBRA,YOU WILL PAY $600/MONTH FOR TWO PEOPLE,UP TO $1200 FOR FAMILY,TRY THAT WHEN YOU ARE LAID OFF!).HILLARY SUPPORTERS SHOULD BE AGHAST AT THE PRINCIPALS AND BELIEFS OF VP PICK,PALIN.MAYBE THEY AND UNDECIDEDS ARE NOT READING ENOUGH OF HER BIO (JUST THE MADE UP ONE THE MCCAIN PEOPLE ARE PUSHING)INCLUDING THE CRONYISM,THE SECRETISM,THE NO REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS (EVEN A LOT OF PRO-LIFERS WANT TO KEEP THE BIRTH CONTROL RIGHTS,THE MATERNITY RIGHTS AND FMLA.HOW DID MCCAIN GET FROM WHERE HE STARTED TO WHERE HE IS NOW,HE USED TO BE AT LEAST ACCEPTING OF BOTH SIDES OF THE COIN.
Re: different ways to handle the economy (Mitchell).  McCain's best friend in the Senate, former Senator Phil Gramm, headed the banking committee that prevented banking regulation that would have undercut the banking misbehaviors and miscalculations that produced the foreclosure crisis.  Phil Gramm is still one of McCain's economic advisors.  How about some focus on that as you discuss McCain's economic babbling!
I feel sorry for mcCain- palin- Bush ticket , they don't have anything to offer America NO answers to anything just negative adds change is good for America ,I now agree if we continue this way with the economy down, war,The Obama-Biden is the way out, you tell me something better I will go for it,
