Down the ballot: Young finally wins

"Rep. Don Young, a 35-year veteran of the U.S. House and currently under federal investigation, narrowly won the Republican primary battle Wednesday to keep his seat, Alaska's only one in the House of Representatives," the AP says. "In a close race only decided with the final counting of about 350 outstanding absentee and questioned ballots, Young beat Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell by 304 votes. Young finished with 48,195 votes; Parnell had 47,891 votes.

More: "Parnell entered the race in dramatic fashion, blindsiding Young at the state GOP convention with his surprise announcement that he would enter the race and pollsters had him ahead of Young. But Parnell squandered the opportunity with a very low-profile campaign. He also may have lost favor with Alaska voters by having his campaign largely funded by individual contributions through the Washington, D.C., anti-earmark group Club for Growth."

More troubles for Charlie Rangel? "Rangel has been using a House of Representatives parking garage for years as free storage space for his old Mercedes-Benz -- a violation of congressional rules and a potential new tax woe for the embattled lawmaker, The Post has learned. The 1972 silver sedan is registered to Rangel, who is already under investigation by the House Ethics Committee, and is parked in a coveted section of an indoor lot, near elevators that lead to his office. The car is covered with a protective tarp and has no license plates. Rangel's registration on the vehicle expired in 2004, state records show. House rules forbid use of the garage for long-term storage more than 45 days -- and congressional aides told The Post that Rangel's car has been sitting there for years."

How pragmatic is business? BIPAC, one of the leading pro-business political organizations, is adding more Dems to its endorsement list.

Now THAT is a close race.  Hanging chads anyone?

Yet another white collar criminal repugnant one wins an election showing us all that they are the party of criminals.  We have another criminal, "Sinner" Sarah who must not be allowed to win as she will be a replay of "Darth" Cheney is a skirt.  Why is she lawyering up to fight the Troopergate investigation when she first welcomed the investigation?  She's got something to hide and we all know the truth will lay her low.

We can blame the repugnant ones for the global financial crisis, the failed VooDoo Economics of Ronny Raygunz and his clueless foot soldiers Bush/McCain.  We can blame Phil Gramm for deregulating the banking industry and causing the Wall Street Massacre of 9/15/08.  After "Bush Hugger" McCain loses on November 4th we'll be seeing him milling around muttering "Beware the Ides of September".

Go Obama/Biden 08/12!
Rangle is one of the best congressmen ever, so he needs to be cut some slack. I don't really care that he skims a little money here, and takes a little bit of a benefit there. Just like with Obama, what's important is the mans ideas and his actions. For that, Rangle gets a pass in my book.
Are all Republicans in Alaska under investigation? It sure seems so...
As far as Rangel goes, he's been an embarrassment for years; let him drive back  home in his old Benz.
The pro-biz group just knows who's going to sweep things in Novemeber, that's all.
Young is very beatable in the November election.

Rumor has it, the democrats and independents pulled a Rush Limbaugh "Operation Chaos" and picked up republican ballots in the primary to help Young win with the expectation that he will lose to the democrat this November.

Thanks, Rush!

Par for course in a state where a politician's ethics mean nothing as long as he brings home the pork. The entitlement culture in Alaska is out of control. These folks need to be taken off the government dole and fast!
Charley Rangel is emblamatic of the Democratic party: corrupt to the core, but constantly accusing the other side of corruption.

In the Democratic party, you have ol'Charley hanging on to his seat as head of the House Ways and Means committee, and Nancy Pelosi can see no reason to remove him from that post.  You have Representatives under indictment who are re-elected by their constituents.  You have illegal fundraising, and Dems railing that the laws have to be changed, despite the fact that they broke EXISTING law.  And on and on.

To top it off, you have a candidate whose cheif advisors are a former head of Freddie Mac, and a principle of Lehman Brothers.  Those are certainly great credentials; it proves that those of us who are NOT voting for Obama on economic grounds are right to believe that he would be a disaster for the economy.  On top of this , Obama is a product of the Chicago machine, associates with known terrorists, was the attorney for a group known for voter fraud. . .

the people running the Democratic party should be rounded up and jailed.  They have destroyed it.
Parnell losing will hurt Palin. He was her champion. Not sure where Young stands but don't think he was quite as enamoured as Parnell was.

He won by 300 votes in a RED state...

Look out Republicans...  a change is coming...

Ouch! Charlie.

Donald is pessimistic about McPlain. I'm Not

Enough glossing over!
No way!
No how!
No McCain/Palin!
Nobody but Obama/Biden
