Palin disinvited from Iran protest rally

From NBC/NJ’s Matthew Berger
The group organizing a rally on Monday to protest the appearance of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the United Nations has disinvited all politicians, including Sarah Palin.

A Jewish organizational leader says the decision to disinvite Palin came after two days of conference calls by the planners, most of whom were angry that Palin had been invited and confirmed without the consultation of other organizers.

Hillary Clinton, who cancelled her scheduled appearance at the event after learning of Palin's plans to attend, had been confirmed months earlier. But Palin's participation made the non-profit groups planning the event concerned they would lose their tax-exempt status, if only one party's presidential or vice presidential candiate was invited to speak.

"The IRS is very clear, Hillary Clinton does not equal Sarah Palin," the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. "You have to have equal representation of candidates."

The organizers reached out to the Obama campaign for the first time Wednesday morning, asking Joe Biden to speak to balance Palin, but in the end the decision was made to not allow political candidates at the event at all, the organizer said.

Organizers of the rally announced the decision today in a press release. “In order to keep the focus on Iranian threats and to ensure that this critical message not be obscured,” noted the release, “the organizers of the rally have decided not to have any American political personalities appear.”

*** UPDATE ***

Mark Wallace, a Palin advisor who is reportedly prepping her for her debates later this month, is serving as executive director of United Against Nuclear Iran, a fledgling coalition of primarily American Jewish groups. Both the organization and the rally were the brainchild of Malcolm Hoenlein, the longtime vice chair of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, several American Jewish leaders. Wallace, who is married to McCain campaign communications director Nicole Wallace, was brought on board by Hoenlein, and Jewish leaders say Hoenelin extended the invitation to Palin to speak at the rally.

Hoenlein was not immediately available for comment.

The McCain campaign also just  issued a press release in regard to Palin's cancellation.

"Governor Palin was pleased to accept an invitation to address this rally and show her resolve on this grave national security issue, regrettably that invitation has since been withdrawn under pressure from Democratic partisans," reads the statement. "We stand shoulder to shoulder with Republicans, Democrats and independents alike to oppose Ahmadinejad's goal of a nuclear armed Iran. Senator Obama's campaign had the opportunity to join us. Senator Obama chose politics rather than the national interest."

Nice job.  I see the fine hand of Bill Clinton in this action.

Not to mention the fact that Biden was invited, and declined.

Should those of us who support Israel suddenly begin to trust Barack Obama?  I surely don't.
Well, then Palin is just not going to invite these organizers to her Christmas party.
Good.

McCain and Palin are merely puppets dressed in POW patriotism and celebrity packaging alongside a western soundtrack. If you look past the facade and you will see that this election is REALLY between Obama/Biden (funded in large part by grass root American efforts) and GOP lobbyists - and NO they don't care about us - they care about profit, power and influence. PERIOD..

The choice couldn't be clearer.

Obama/Biden: HONEST Change for Everyone!

Here is the Obama Campaign manager, David Plouffe, outlining the battle state plan and how they are going to win. Check out the video on the match a new donor page (you don’t have to donate to see it.) https://donate.barackobama.com/page/contribute/strategy1?match_campaign_id=15&source=20080917_DP_standard
I guess it is time to spread the fear!
There a one post limit now on each subject?
We have it wrong. McCain isn't Bush; Palin is. Both of them have become persona non-grata.

Translation: Bush, and Palin are treated like Timmy Loomis, the kid with cooties in the 'Bad News Bears'!
First Read:  where are the posts that came in to the previous articles?  I know I posted; didn't you get anything from Eric in Salinas or Clair in Tuscaloosa?  Maybe Pat in Boston was busy?

I realize that you need ten or fifteen Obama supporters to every McCain supporter, but, seriously, they can't ALL have been tonguetied on these subjects.

Get real.
Now that Jewish organization will have to go to Rent-A-Protester. That's where the Democrats get all their protesting needs taken care of.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Biden would go, but he's already reached his gaffe quota for the week.
"disinvited"???

I would love it if McCain "disoffered" Palin the VP spot on the ticket.  I am not a McCain supporter, but I sure was hoping that he'd pick somebody smart so that we'd be in good shape just in case something happened to him.

I wonder, after all of the events of the past couple of weeks, if the Republicans would like to "unnominate" their nominees and put together a more qualified ticket, like Hagel/Romney.

At least Hillary was smart enough to uninvite herself to this disorganized protest! She's one tough, smart cookie, and I hope to see more of her on the campaign trail (and in a future Obama administration)!
Can she see Iran from her home? By the way, who is caring for the Palin Children? Her husband is with her every time I have seen her. Some parenting!!!!!! THIS IS NOT SEXIST,THIS IS ON BOTH OF THEM.
What the...  Disinvited?  This is not a word, boys.  Try 'uninvited'.  Disinvited, despite being all over the blogs, is NOT A WORD.  Stop using it.  Even spell check in Firefox knows the truth.  Don't you have degrees, people?
I think it is a shame Hillary withdrew. It would have been nice to see a woman with intelligence and experience speak, and then listen to Palin try to sound the same.

Come Nov. 4th, she is going to be disenvited to a lot of things! Get used to it.
How is this the fault of Democratic partisans?

Apparently, Palin should never have been invited in the first place.
Palin just cancelled appearances at two major fundraisers in California too - is that Obama's fault as well?  I sure hope so!

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/sfgate/detail?blogid=14&entry_id=30444&tsp=1
Since the media's decision to disect every last breath Sarah Palin has taken over the past 10 years, I'm sure somehow that we'll soon hear that this cancellation is Palin's "fault" as well.  How many more stories will we hear re-hashed about her Wasilla earmark requests or about her family?  It's funny, but when is the last time you guys re-introduced your listeners to the Obama and Biden controversial issues?  After all, this is now the general election when many people are first beginning to read and listen.  Shouldn't those people have the right to read and listen about his great real estate deal from Tony Rezko, his close relationship to Bill Ayers, the unaccounted moneys from his community organizer days, his relationship to Reverand Wright and whether he truely did know about Wright's radical views and associations with radical islamic guys like Farrakan...?  Or Biden's plagiarism issues, his lobbyist son, his lying about his grades in college, his many verbal gaffes in interviews and speeches???  Wouldn't that only be fair and right?  Or is that too much to ask from a media who's clearly drunk in their love for Obama?
Absolutely awesome, finally someone is not playing the games with the McCain Campaign trying to prove Palin can Sit and Look like a VP just use the meeting because after that it would have been photo ops and 30 ads by the McCain campaing.

Judging from Palin's inability to answer one question own her own with a clear response, we really don't know what she's responding to it's certainly not the question.

On Women's equality she was asked for specifics to show how she supports women.  Her response, TITLE 9, unbelieveable. A college football rule that says men and women must get the same financial support and equipment.

Thanks Palin, talk about just doesn't get it!

good for Sen. Clinton she can smell a con when she sees it.

Where in the world will it stop?? I saw nothing in that article that said the Dem had anything to do with Ms Palin being disinvited. Can't they get anything right??? Or does it all have to be half truths and lies????????

               "The IRS is very clear"

===============================

So, the McCain campaign insists this is partisan politics perpetrated by the Democrats yet it is obvious to anyone with a freakin brain that this is an issue that is dictated by the rules of the IRS.
Who wants to mess with the IRS over something as trivial as this but we know why the Republicans want to make this a political issue.

McCain/Palin: Politics as usual.
Was this event planned in response to the SNL skit?

No McCain. She was initially the only one invited.  Hillary( not running) withdrew for the apparent reason of not trying to speak for the candidates. It seems pressure to invite Palin was by one of her advisors. Once again the facts get in your way.
I suppose that "Democratic partisans" means the Internal Revenue Service, under John McCain's definition.

Seriously, why does anyone spend a moment listening to anything McCain's campaign says anymore?
I can see it all now...the GOP will insist that she was uninvited  because of the Democrats. They will ignore the fact that it has to do with the IRS.  Personally, she doesn't have the gravitas to be on the same stage as Elie Weisel.
"Governor Palin was pleased to accept an invitation to address this rally and show her resolve on this grave national security issue, regrettably that invitation has since been withdrawn under pressure from Democratic partisans," reads the statement. "Democratic partisans???" Wasn't the relationship on the McCain side??? Also the initial invite based upon that relation???

These people speak in forked tongues. Can't they just back out with grace and dignity please?????
Why is it when something like this happens, it is always the Democrats fault ? Do we have to listen to McCains campaign and their complaining all the time ? This man is acting like some spoiled child. "I'm taking my ball and go home !" Palin is probably happy she didn't have to be there, she wouldn't be prepared anyway. McCain os now the Vice President on the ticket, it's Palin/McCain. That's how Sarah tells it anyway.
To blame this disinvitation on Barack Obama is absurd. The McCain campaign is looking to spin this disinvitation in a manner that makes it look like Democrats and specifically Obama pushed for this or pressured the event planners and coordinaters to withdraw her invitation. This is a false, and entirely unfounded accusation.
Well rally organizers, how does it feel to be played like a grand piano?
WAAAAA WAAAAA WAAAAAAA Crybabies. Sarah can't show hor bona fide cramming of issues WAAAAAAAAA!!
HEY FIRST READ!!!!!!!!!!

How about the Palin/McCain administration gaffe today???? I'm telling you, McDementia need to watch over his soup!!!!! I think she, chosen by God, may be watching over the Supreme Court!
opps now she won't be a Foreign Policy EXPERT
Oh, check that out.  Another lobbyist in the McCain camp.  This one prepping Palin.  Imagine that.

Staff meeting!
Puh-leze, can we ever read/hear a back peddle response from the McSmear camp that DOESN'T use Obamas or the Democratic partys name?  McCain's storm troopers are losing ground and are now beyond being comical.
Bwaaaaah! "regrettably that invitation has since been withdrawn under pressure from Democratic partisans," states the McCain campaing press release. Whaaaat? Palin's invitation was withdrawn by the organizers including the organization's president who is married to one of McCain's chief advisors. Ooooooh yeah, the McCain camp is a kabal of liars. I forgot.
ATTENTION INDEPENDENTS! (Republicans are a lost cause).  IN THE WORDS OF CARIBOU BARBIE "DON'T BLINK". Check this out:

Can McCain camp. say anything honest? I wonder!!!
I'd disinvite her too.  She's bad news, and dirtier than most worms.  Truth is not in her (Palin's) vocabulary, and she missed HER ethics classes when she transferred from college to college.  Ethical people do not dodge investigations, especially after they say sure, no problem in the beginning.

Plus, Hillary, a woman who has a clue about this cause, and is totally more knowledgeable about it, was completely dissed when they invited Palin.  There is no comparison between the two, and I wouldn't want a woman who's claim to foreign policy is that she can see Russia from her state to speak at an event such as this.
LEAKED PALIN EMAIL:

From: Sarah Palin [specialsauce@aol.com]

RE:  UN rally

Todd,

OMG!!  The Jesus killers don't want me at the rally.  Like I really wanted to go - NOT!!! lol

You need to have a talk with Big Mac and tell him that if he tries to send me to one more rally with these people, he's going to get "Todded" just like Moneghan.

It's my party now ;)

Sarah
McCain is such a lying little creep!  It was his campaign, Sarah Palin and himself who wanted to turn this important event into a publicity stunt for Sarah Palin.  Just like "she can see Russia from her porch", she would use this event to add to her resume "Foreign Leader Relationships" - yah, "I shook hands with them once".  WOW how the world leaders are going to laugh their butts off if Palin, oops, if McCain wins this election.

I have never been a Hilary supported, but I applaud her on this one!
This doesn't pass the smell test.  I am disgusted.
"regrettably that invitation has since been withdrawn under pressure from Democratic partisans," reads the statement."

And the McCain campaign would rather start a war than loose an election...

Pitiful...  but, keep digging fellas - it will be over soon...
IRS rules and suddenly it is the fault of Senator Obama
"Senator Obama's campaign had the opportunity to join us. Senator Obama chose politics rather than the national interest."

McCain campaign, shut the hell up!

http://twocanpete.blogspot.com/
Since Iran's closer to New York that would make Hillary the expert, right?
And John McCain rather put this whole country at risk by choosing a poor excuse of a VP just to try to win the white house.
and is a shame
OBAMA
Hooray for the disinvite!  It's pretty clear the only reason she received an invite is due to collusion between the McWilliamHenryHarrison campaign and his surrogates at fully partisan special interest group.  Palin appearing at the event would have only been a vain attempt to put lipstick on her non-existent foreign-policy experience.
Where does the McCain campaign get this stuff?  What proof is there that the Democratic party pressured the group into disinviting Palin?  Looks like the IRS was the reason and I don't see them on the ballot!
No Truth
No Honor
No McCain
Does the b.s. never end with McCain/Palin, a/k/a McPain?  You'd have to be out of your mind to vote these two in.  Oh and speaking of Palin, is she cognizant of anything? http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/18/palins-transparency-proposal-already-exists-in-dc/
