Palin requests meeting with Karzai

From NBC's Libby Leist
Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has asked to meet with Afghan President Hamid Karzai at next week's meeting of the United Nations' General Assembly, diplomatic sources tell NBC News. There is no confirmation the meeting will actually take place, however.

Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden is scheduled to meet with the Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari, according to the Pakistani officials. Zardari, the widower of Benazir Bhutto, won election earlier this month, replacing Pervez Musharraf. There is no word, as yet, on a meeting with Palin.

NBC has also learned that Palin has not requested to meet French President Nicolas Sarkozy or Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner, and the Georgians are saying no meetings yet are scheduled with President Mikheil Saakashvili.

As if we aren't a laughing stock in the world already... do this joke of candidate really need to be getting face time with foreign leaders????
This kind of meeting, just brings more shame to America and Americans.  How dare they have her represent us....

Aren't we in a state of humiliation already for trying to expand our "empire"?
What a silly girl.  I can see the foreign heads of state now just laughing at this silly girl.  Shame on McCain for putting the USA in this position with this silly girl.
How sad is this?  The american people don't have a say in someone making us all look foolish.  We didn't select her for anything (at least not yet), so why are we stuck with her and whatever "duh" thing she comes out with.
Maybe she can tell him the 'ol lipstick and hockeymom joke.
I just wonder what the purpose is. She is currently the Gov of Alaska. A VP candidate should not have any reason to speak with heads of state, unless of course their current position requires or allows for it. Senators Obama, Biden and McCain can all do so due to their current positions, but has a Gov of Alaska ever met with an Afganistan head of state? I would guess no because there is no reason to meet with them. I would be surprised if Hamid Karzai chose to interject his Government into the US presidential race. This meeting is clearly politically motivated and would not serve either government well.
Sarah who?
She sees Russia from her house and when she turns RIGHT she sees the North Pole and Santa Clause.
Bawhahahahahahaha! I guess mouthy ex-beauty queen governors who can only embelish on their proven mediocrity, steal others ideas and lie on cue which has suddenly become proper "vetting" in the political arena, aren't the flavor of the month with foreign dignitaries. I bet Snow, Rice, Hutchinson or Clinton would not have had to beg. Or is Sarah in huntress mode and sees this gentlemen as an exotic "moose" to be tracked down? LOL
Oh wow. The last thing we need is this hocky mom
telling lies to a foreign dignitary. Would prob
tell him not to mess with her cuz she shoots
moose.
Let's send out Miss Teen USA as our ambasador to the Middle East and Europe.  Her cluelessness will discourage any future terrorist attack as USA is already stricken by mental deficiency disease.
So she's going to start out by speed-dating an Afghan, eh?  Man, this site really needs laugh-out-loud smilies.  Sarah Palin is the biggest joke in American Politics since Dan Quayle!!!
Palin and Mcain are an embarressment to our
country.

Can you see Afghanistan from Alaska?
Wow!  She has to keep begging for appearances.  They want to meet with Joe Biden because they can have an intelligent conversation with him.  The only thing they can talk with her about is what Russia looks like from her home in Alaska.  This is such a joke.  She is trying to use that for political gain so she can come back, say that she met with him and now knows everything there is to know on the foreign front.  She will have to take really good notes and stay there for about 10 years, and then maybe she would have enough talking points to have an intelligent conversation with someone.  She is a waste of our time when she does any interview.  Her stupidity is shown every time she opens her mouth.  No wonder the McCain camp tries to keep her in a cone of silence.  She has put an end to the Troopergate Investigation.  Can you spell "cover-up".  No way, No how, No McCain/Palin.

Obama/Biden 08
Perhaps Palin want's to congratulate this man for the way in which his country has kept women's rights down all these years!

What's that charlie? It's really not the Palin McSame ticket? Stupid idiot.
Let her meet President Karzai, then once and for all, all of America (and the world) will see that she has no clue! How much cramming do you think she'll need?

Why is the GOP protecting her?!!!  If she were a Democrat, the Republicans would be up in arms about her - with McCain leading the mob!
after weeks of coaching Karzai was the only name she could finally pronounce
Did she bring her autograph book along?
I just keep repeating, "Dear God...Dear God."  I am almost beyond words.  This is all kinds of wrong.  Do they not understand what a walking disaster this woman is?
Pat Huntington, NY

All you left-wing liberal feminists and liberals in general are sooooooo jealous.  For ALL OF YOU, the chance to even possibly meet a foreign official does not exist.  You liberals are so sexist and racist.
Hold on a minute...why will she talk to Karzai before she talks to the American people? Will she lie to him like she has lied to our country?  Do you think she will say to him, "Thanks, but no thanks!!"
