Palin hits Obama on economy, energy

From NBC/NJ's Matthew Berger
THE VILLAGES, Fla. -- Palin chastised Obama Sunday for not taking a position on plans for the recovery of the nation’s financial system, and said it was akin to voting present in the Illinois state legislature.

Palin said McCain offered a recovery plan this week, while “our opponent refused to even take a stand on the position,” and reminded voters he voted present in the state legislature “about 130 times.”

“This week he voted present on the major economic issues of the day,” she said. “And that is not leadership, America, it’s not leadership Americans can afford.”

Palin spoke at her first event before tens of thousands at The Villages, a large retirement community in Central Florida. She was joined on stage by husband Todd and her three younger children, including Piper, who thanked the crowd for having them.

Palin also attacked Obama for supporting tax increases in the name of “patriotism.”

“To the rest of America, it’s about killing jobs and hurting small businesses, making things worse,” she said. “This isn’t about patriotism, it’s about Barack Obama’s poor judgment.”

Palin said Obama has sided with special interests “and come out against solutions that would help Americans heat their homes and fuel up their tanks and pay their energy bills.”

“And I think well maybe if he had been the governor of an energy rich state, maybe then he’d get it,” she said, comparing her experience to his. “Maybe if he’d been on the frontlines of securing our nation’s energy independence, maybe then he’d understand.”

And her propsal is ???????  Oh, that's right, she doesn't take questions so no one can ask her.  -- Fine, lady, if we ever need to elect someone who can read canned criticisms, you'll be at the top of the list.  It does seem to be her only talent .... that's useful, in any event.
Palin is a PROVEN LIAR, so who cares what PALIN says. She just reads from scripts. Mccain picking her shows he is UNFIT to be POTUS

He's OLD with mental issues and she's a wacko radical unexperienced right wing NUT
what a tool.
McCain and Palin campaign are not credible anymore. With the lies they put out and dropping the ball on this economy mess. Why would we believe anything they say?
Obama will do to Palin what he did to Hillary, call her silly, and a joke. A woman as the VP. Really now. Everyone knows better then that.

Will someone PLEASE put a muzle over that lipstick !!!

She is so misinformed and spews lies lie water flows through a river.

Dipstick and Lipstick... what a pair... of LIARS.

Palin has not credibility on any issue

Will someone PLEASE put a muzzle over that lipstick !

She is so misinformed and spews lies like water flows through a river.

Dipstick and Lipstick... what a pair... of LIARS.

Obama does have a plan for our energy needs. Everyone gets a free government issued beanie cap. Optional propeller sizes will be available.
Sarah Palin: Did you know she wanted rape victims to pay for their own rape kits? Funny and horrifying.  Check out the animated cartoon:

Has Obama every worked to balance a budget? Had to make tough decisions on what money to allocate to what departments?  Had to take responsibility when something didn't go quite as he thought it would? I know, the answer is never. What Obama is good at is pointing fingers, blaming others, and not ever coming up with a plan that was worth more then a bucket of spit.
Sarah, please put your mouth in the sand next to your head.  Openning your mouth only shows your choice of words are a bridge to hot meaningless air.
this woman is out of her mind and you are also out of your minds msnbc for posting her out of her mind comments! you're just like cnn who in turn is just like fow noice. what a shame...what a pity.
Palin/McCain blast out fire someone no aid to aig on monday then Tuesday after his bosses told him he was wrong the only thing the gov. could do to prevent a
world wide meltdown got to help aig. Obama study the situation and made a statement later, call a meeting with his economic adviser to study the plan Paulson put together.Palin/McCain knee jerk reaction. The only
Palin is saying is what is written for her .
Taking the Rovian talking points away from Palin, what do you have. No national or international experience, a family being ignored (public displays is not a quality family value), a Governor who is impeding a legislative investigation, a husband who in the Bush Administration tradition ignores lawful subpoenas, a story teller of lying proportions, an valueless soul with a pretty face.
We need to DRILL, DRILL, DRILL, so McCain can fuel his 13 cars and 'First Dude' can race his snowmobile!

We need to make wise choices not easy fixes.

Wee need an energy czar that is more than one dimensional.  She needs to get that!
It seems that if you think about a decision, you are not a good leader! WOW, this lady should think about what she implies! If you ponder, you are not a good leader! If you pander you are! What stupidity from someone that represents so many people, and a sad day for this nation! Obama/Biden
Campaigns that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Six days ago, Senator McCain claimed the fundamentals of the economy were "sound" and then "the American worker/work ethic."  The republican spin machine spent the remainder of the week trying to explain what McCain "really meant" when he said it.

This week's McCain/Palin leadership principle,
"Don't look at ME/US, look at HIM."

Governor Palin, has alot of nerve, maybe that what it takes to make the kind of statements she is making.  We know that there was a administrator for her as she ran a small village of 6,000.  Now as Govenor of Alaska, she has a staff that does most of the work.  She is out running for Vice President, and not taking care of her state.  If the American public can be fooled by such a play on their biasis then maybe she will somehow become Vice President.
This women has no right to thing she is ready to be Vice President; however with people flocking to see her and hearing the same canned speak from the McCain figure heads maybe she should feel that way.  If any person in the nation took time to read about Govenor Palin, and what she stands for and not what she says I do not think there would be 10 people at one of her rallies.
When Palin speaks nobody listens.
Why would anyone even listen to a word this
hocky mom says?
She left her town as mayor with a deficit they
never had before, she and her husband lost their
small business due to not keeping up with
required paper work, she built a multi million
dollar road to nowhere for the bridge to
nowhere. She campaigns on nothing but lies,
distortions and attacks.
Cannot believe the gloss she gets from the
media/ap.
MSNBC, you are getting as bad as CNN.

Does anybody believe that Caribou Barbie even understands the basic details of the present financial crisis? My guess is that she wouldn't know what a credit-default swap was if one bit her on the ass.
Maybe Palin (and those in the media who allow the McCain to continue this false line)should go on Obama's website, since March he's had a more in depth plan than the new Teddy Roosevelt/McCain (what a joke, McCain the Wall Street reformer)does today. Will he have an even more detailed plan before the election? Yes. Is his already more detailed (and consistent with his voting record)than McCains? Without a doubt!
Every time I read or hear Pain's criticisms of Obama, I think, how insulting. This person is so transparently a know nothing compared to Obama. It's just insulting. She can't even avail herself to the press and to the public other than in prepared soundbites. The McCain campaign is having to run her governor's office in Alaska because of her alleged abuse of power. Her candidacy is insulting to women. The thought of her being a heartbeat away from the Presidency if McCain were to win is terrifying to millions of us. McCain, the deregulator, is reckless and irresponsible in his decision-making. November 5th can't come too soon when we get to send Pain back to Alaska. I'm certain, after so much of who she is -- and isn't -- has come to light, that she is no longer the most popular governor in the U.S. McCain -- Campaign First, Country Last!! How shameful.
McCain has shown the last week how out of touch, bellicose and flip floper he is. First he is against the bail out, than for it, fire SEC chairmen (which he can't w/o cause), come up with a bogus committee and pathetically try to convince people that he is a regulator when him and his buddy Phil Gramm where major players behind the mess. PLEASE palin go back to the tundra and take the first dude with you to answer to subpoena's that you feel you are above the law. ENOUGH OF THIS GOP CORRUPTION!
Unfortunately Sarah Palin cant hold a candle to Barach Obama and Joe Biden.  Isn't it better to step back, see a plan and comment versus jumping in with a stupid response and change it.  I'd much rather have the intelligence of Barack Obama working on my side versus the shoot first and ask questions later attitude of McCain and Palin.
What was McCain's response again....fire the SEC chairman(Although he messed up the acronym a few times anyway).  At least Obama took the responsible position to gather enough information to make a responsible and plausible solution instead of sounding like a douche.
“And I think well maybe if he had been the governor of an energy rich state, maybe then he’d get it,” she said, comparing her experience to his. “Maybe if he’d been on the frontlines of securing our nation’s energy independence, maybe then he’d understand.”
---This, Sarah Palin, is a joke.....
  Obama '08!
Sarah Palin is an idiot, and anything she says is irrelevant.
Palin also attacked Obama for supporting tax increases in the name of “patriotism.”

That is probably the most asinine thing Joe Biden has said.  Guess those people who pay NO taxes aren't patriotic?????????

And, Obama, please stop saying you're going ahead with your tax cuts for middle class.  Do you really want to send us into depression???????
I realize it took Ms. Palin six years (and five schools) to earn a bachelor's degree in journalism, but you'd think that this week of all weeks she could afford to pay a little attention. Barack Obama is actually the only candidate for president who has come out with a plan to repair our economy. All Palin and McCain have done is complain and whine and claim that "the fundamentals of our economy are strong."

She wants us to put her one not-so-healthy 72-year-old heartbeat away from the presidency of the United States. Really? Pay attention, Sarah!
I'd get an "F" in my logic class with that kind of 'reasoning'. Reality of Palin?...About 20X20 meters.
This woman is so in over her head...I actually feel sorry for her. She's gotta be sh---'in a brick about having to debate Biden.  Every time she opens her mouth, something embarrassing comes out.  I agree with Biden (not Obama), who said that people who make over $250,000 a year paying up like the rest of us (instead of using government sponsored tax shelters) is indeed the patriotic thing to do.

He waited to hear a plan (and, now having a plan, has clearly laid out what he ants changed within it), while McCain flipped around through so many positions I have no idea where the heck he stands.  Palin never lets facts get in the way of her delusions and talking points she's been handed, does she?
Even BLOOMBERG says we need to pay the piper. If you want good schools, nice roads, bridges and tunnels along with a working Police dept and fire dept GUESS WHAT???
YOU HAVE TO PAY TAXES MY FRIENDS!!!
AND
The FAT CATS have been paying a lower % than most of us so STOP LYING PIG FACE PALIN
SHE IS SUCH A DISASTER
Yes the "I never blink" lady certainly is not in favor of thinking before action. I do believe that Obama said that Paulson and Bernake should put forward a proposal, which is their responsibility and then the Senate and House should evaluate it and make recommendations to amend it.
He also laid out three criteria upon which any proposals should be judged.
This approach shows better judgment that McCain who kept responing in ways that he contridicted himself during the week. He seemed to want to show he was in charge, when he wasn't and did not have all the facts of the matter.
Don't go there Palin! I don't think she wants to touch Obama on the "real issues." If you can recall correctly (without lying again), Obama "responded" to the economic crisis by being responsible and letting the current administration handle what needed to be handled. Also, he called for "everyone" to work together because we are in this together. He was directing people to his website to inform them on his economic plan. He stated he needed more information on the "details" of the package that were being offered and didn't rush to come up with a "fly-by-night" plan like McCain did. In other words, he DID blink! Sometimes it's a GOOD thing to "blink." Just because you "react" first doesn't make you a leader, but the "manner in which you respond" shows wisdom, discernment and responsibility. The McCain/Palin ticket are without those "fundamental" traits.  Obama showed himself to be Presidential by having all of the facts "before" he determined what steps needed to be taken. McCain/Palin are fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants kind of people who take action first and think later. Sometimes that can be detremental in certain circumstances; ask GWB about that! Sarah Palin is no more than a talking piece with a pretty face. Maybe she can "demand/command McCain's speech writers to visit "factcheck.com" before she makes her next speech.
Uh Ms. Palin...your candidate said the economy is fundamentally strong...of course he has since changed his mind daily to suit what is going on in the country...pleaseeeee shut up.
Being able to spit out a "solution" without insuring that it makes sense does not equate to leadership. The last thing this country needs is another prez offering a bunch of knee-jerk responses. Besides, I am still waiting for someone to tell us how the U.S. will suport the war and reduce this trillion+ dollars debt without raising taxes.

I think Polly the McCain Parrot wants a cracker.
John McCain had four positions in four days.  Palin's position was to "shake things up" and to "ruffle some feahters".

Yes, Gov. Palin, its MUCH better to take those positions than to actually review the plan and THEN take a position.

Obama/Biden 08

I can't wait until this ticket loses, and Miss Wasilla has to go back to Alaska where she is rapidly losing all political capital she might have once had.  She won't be able to get elected dog-catcher at that point.
Palin may have dropped the lie about the bridge, but she keeps repeating the lie about Obama and taxes - Barak will raise taxes on people like McCain, and even Palin - that's why she is p.o.
palin took no questions cause she got no answeres. there she goes again "no question palin" up to her usual no questions.
Does this woman have an inflated ego or what? She is practically a nobody whose claim to fame is that she knows nothing! The only reason people listen to her is to find out if her new lies are more idiotic than her old lies. It must be embarrassing to be a desperate Republican. Nov.4th can't come soon enough!
Tens of thousands in the audience is a big story if true and represents a tremendous in Republican enthusiasm for the McCain campaign and is largely attributable to Sarah Palin.
“And I think well maybe if he had been the governor of an energy rich state, maybe then he’d get it,” she said, comparing her experience to his.

Using that "logic" Palin won't "get it" when it comes to the problems of big cities and minorities since her state is "poor" in those resources.
Whoever the next President is, I expect that taxes will go up because we have debts to pay off. At least Obama is given critical thought to the economic problem and not throwing out a bunch of half cock ideas like McCain has been doing for the last week.
Illinois produced 2.31 billion bushels of corn (ethanol) and 360.8 million bushels of soybeans (biodiesel)in 2007. Renewable every year.  Illinois isn't an energy rich state?

And this woman wants to be our energy czar!
No, Ms. Palin, it's about Barack Obama having the decency to deliver the tough messages that this country has not heard for the past 8 years.  Why aren't you telling your audience how your party spent a trillion dollars to fight a war that is unwinable.  Is Afganistan stable, no, Is Iraq stable, no, Is Pakistan stable, no.  Why don't you tell them how we just spent another trillion dollars to bail out wall street due to the lax oversight of the current administration over the past 8 years.  Aren't you telling them that you have effectively raised their taxes on Friday with the bail out.  You are not worried about heat in people's homes, all you are worried about is bring more money to Alaska.  Small Government and No Spending, my *ss.  What kind of Republicans are you?
