Palin: Ahmadinejad 'must be stopped'

Palin has an op-ed in the New York Sun, with what would have been her remarks had she still been attending an anti-Iran rally.

She calls for sanctions on Iran's Central Bank and asks for a "call for action" against the country. "We gather here today to highlight the Iranian dictator's intentions and to call for action to thwart him. He must be stopped. The world must awake to the threat this man poses to all of us."

And this: "Earlier this year, Senator Clinton said that 'Iran is seeking nuclear weapons, and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps is in the forefront of that' effort. Senator Clinton argued that part of our response must include stronger sanctions, including the designation of the IRGC as a terrorist organization. John McCain and I could not agree more. Senator Clinton understands the nature of this threat and what we must do to confront it."

Clinton called for "tougher sanctions," yes. What she DIDN'T call for was a gleeful enthusiasm to "bomb, bomb, bomb...bomb, bomb Iran!"

If McCain/Palin get in, we'll have plenty more needless wars. Why talk to people, why negotiate with people when you can just drop a bomb on them?

Does this mean yet another war? From my observations of the attitudes of the McCain/Palin ticket, I would have to say that it does.

Have we learned NOTHING? I really don't know that I'll live long enough to see an end to the disaster caused by the Bush/Chaney ticket (after all, I'm 70). I certainly don't see any HOPE for a change to the better if they are elected.

How - - - please tell me HOW - - there is an 80% preference rate for Obama on the economy, on the plan for Iraq and health on this site. But it is still declared a close race by the main stream media.

I just PRAY that the people of the United States wake up and give their total support to Senator Obama. No human is perfect, but he's the best we have right now.

No one disagres that Iran cannot be allowed to possess nuclear weapons. But Pailn like McCain need to put aise all their public sabre rattling and listen to those Secretaty of States (Dem and Rep.)who in a forum the other day stated the exact same position that Oabama has been recommending. First, stop all the sabre rattling rhetoric which makes matters worse and second, open up talks with Iran to seek their cooperation while leaving air strikes o nthe table as a final option.

The trouble with war-monger McCain and his Parakeet Palin is that their constant public condemnation and threats against Iran close the door to any diplomatic solutions that might be achieved to avoid military action before such talks can occur. They also give the President of Iran a world stage, legitimacy and greater support from the Iraniain people (where his reputation has not been good) by increasing Nationalistic feelings among the Iranian people by these constant threats.

It amazes me that anyone is even listening to Palin who has no clue of foreign policy matters. She is way out of her league.
