Meeting? What meeting?

From NBC's Ken Strickland
There was supposed to be a bipartisan meeting between the principle Congressional negotiators on the bailout legislation at 3pm today. No Paulson, no Bernanke--just House and Senate members.

But apparently, someone forgot to invite the Republicans.

The meeting didn't happen.  They'll try to reschedule.

Who did show up? The Democrats. Democratic Senators Chris Dodd, Kent Conrad, Chuck Schumer, and Max Baucus, and  Democratic House members Barney Frank and Rahm Emanuel came by.

It should have been obvious to us press folks that something was wrong.  Judd Gregg of New Hampshire is the negotiator for Senate Republicans.  He walked down the hall toward the meeting room door and then walked right passed it.  He never even made a move to open the door.

The press assumed he was coming back.  He never did.

This whole mortgage mess didn't begin 2 weeks ago like some people think. It didn't begin two years ago like most people think, it began more than 15 years ago, and shoul never have ever happened. Back in 1993 The US economy was realing it's way out of a recesssion and the administration at the time was reaching for a way to turn it around. American banks were strong at the time and were getting new business from overseas investors (particuarly Japan). Congress pushed banks to approve loans based on credit instead of capital, citeing that it was discrimination to disaprove houseing loans based on salary (Capitalism). because of this move more people (without money) were buying houses, more houses were being built, and property values soared. By the time bank realized that they wern'y going to get enough $ to pay pay off these mortgages it was too late and intitutions started failing one at a time.
This campaign is so misdirected in an attept to confuse people, when what people should really do is go back to the basics. Think about it who would you rater have operating on you if you needed crucial surgery. Someone who has been in practice for 26 years like John Mccain or someone who has been in practice for 4 years Like Obama. You can apply that theory to anything and 99.9% of people today want someone with experience. Rookie auto mechanics, quarterbacks, aircraft pilots, doctors, dentists, firemen, etc.. Grated do people made mistakes and wrong decisions during their careers, of course. Thats a part of experience after all a Baseball pitchers era is at 0 until he throws his first pitch, does this mean that he is a better pitcher than a 10 year veteren with a 2.7 era. I'm voteing for experience, and their is no other choice, I'm voteing for mccain

Think about it

Unbefreakinglievable.  The Republicans don't care if we have a total financial meltdown.  They're acting like children.
These people are playing games with OUR FUTURE!!
NOT FUNNY!!
I'd like to hold a meeting with all of these dolts.

Ass, meet foot.

Face, meet fist.

I'm working 2 jobs and I'm back in school, because I can't get another job in my field of work.  So stop playing politics you House Republican anal retards and get on board with the protections added to the bill.  If they allow the market/economy to hit the skids we will all know the meaning of the words "Hell on Earth" and we'll all be looking back at Friday, September 26, 2008 as the "Good Old Days."

Repugnants - get your heads out of your asses and stop caring more about getting your candidate elected and start caring more about the American people who put you in office and who you are supposed to represent.  You sure as hell don't represent me!
Obama needs to pull out McCain's voting record and his resume on lobbiest and pork.  McCain needs to be called out on his lies about his 30 year voting record and how's he's fattened like a tic sponging off the taxpayer.  Deregulation is McCain's middle name.  I'm glad Obama is not backing down from the lies.
