McCain talks about economy, leadership

From NBC's Mark Murray
In his campaign's latest TV ad, McCain speaks to the camera in addressing the current economic crisis and talking about the need for leadership.

The script:
MCCAIN: What a week.
Democrats blamed Republicans,
Republicans blamed Democrats.
We're the United States of America.
It shouldn't take a crisis to pull us together.
We need a President who can avert crisis.
Put people back to work.
Grow our economy.
And move people from surviving to thriving.
We need leadership without painful new taxes.
That will make our country strong again.
I'm John McCain and I approve this message.

*** UPDATE *** Obama spokesman Hari Sevugan fires back, “In the latest sign of his increasingly erratic campaign, John McCain is actually running an ad attacking behavior that he himself exhibited in blaming this financial crisis on Barack Obama. What a week indeed."

I agree with him 100%.  Just a shame he isnt the one to lead.
He also said today:

"I have never been an astronaut, but I think I know the challenges of space." --John McCain to the Des Moines Register editorial board when asked if he has ever been without taxpayer-financed health care.
You're right, John, that's why this girl is voting for Barack Hussein Obama!
Nice ad, sounds like Obama though.  McCain follows; Obama leads.
What a week.
Democrats blamed Republicans,
Republicans blamed Democrats.
I suspend my campaign.
P.S:

Besides, this was all Barack Obama's fault.
So now he says we can do without taxes of the painful kind.  The painless ones are OK?  I'm  confused. Which man's plan is less painful?  Let me guess.  I might check with factcheck or the Tax Center.

I believe the winner is.................BHO
Is it just me, or is the guy who thought Britney Spears and Paris Hilton was good campaigning is trying to copy Obama's 2-minute serious ads?  Unfortunately, he always do a terrible job trying to impersonate Obama.
McCain's commercial would have more credibility if McCain hadn't attempted to score political points last week, and if he hadn't taken credit Monday for the bills passage within an hour of its failure. McCain's a tool, and despite the courage he displayed as a POW, more and more Americans are starting to see him in a negative light.
This message would be more effective if Sen. McCain hadn't immediately blasted Sen. Obama for the bill's failure to pass the House.
And this is a good ad why? What leadership did McCain show recently in his attempt to ride to Washington to save the day?

What good leadership skills has he shown by selecting an unqualified running mate?

What good leadership skills has he shown by blaming Obama for the financial crisis?

What good leader would suspend a campaign because he cannot multitask?

Give me a break!

Ah - we do - but not you.

Barack Obama - will be the next President of the U.S.A.

Oh yea and I approve my message.  :)
HAHAHAHAHAHA that's all I'm going to say to this.  First of all, does he expect us to forget that he's been blaming Obama and the Democrats all week?  Second of all, McCain and Palin are banking on the stupidity of the American people to win this election and that bet is NOT going to pay off for them.
Sounded like he was talking about Sen. Obama, didn't it?  When McBush mentions crisis it's usually from looking in the mirror.  The man is a crisis.  Self-admitted not very interested in or up on the economy and for me....his close involvement with Charles Keating and ruining the lives of many Lincoln investors did it for forever with this guy.  He can't be trusted.
Can't wait until Obama uses this ad against him when he piggybacks it with McCains ad a couple days ago blaming him and the Democrats for politicizing the bailout.

What a joke this guy turned out to be.

Let's move forward, not backward -

Obama / Biden 2008
This is the kind of ad that McCain needs to release.

No more 'Celebrity' or 'the One'.

Be sincere.  Tell us what you'll do if elected.  Stay away from petty attacks.

Look at who's copying Obama. Obama's always two steps ahead
McCain's leadership?

First he suspended his campaign to fix the economy.

Then he suspended his suspension to attend the debate he said he wouldn't.

Then he suspended his suspension of the suspension to go back to Washington to ensure the economic bailout passed.

After the economic bailout didn't pass - rejected by McCain's own party in the House - he suspended the suspension of the suspension of his suspension, and started campaigning again.

And the only saving grace to all this suspended animation is it kept Palin out of the news, and thus from not further appearing as an inanimate object.
Hmm... looks like McCain is stealing Obama's ad's now.
First it was the "Change" moto
Now this..

What a joke!
If these words had been spoken by anyone else we'd assume it was an Obama spot.

Sorry, Johnny, you're too far down the slime road to turn back now. You picked your tactics and your smear merchants, and there's no do-over at this late date.
OMG!
All the media in the tank for Barack, Raines & Johnson at Fannie Mae, & Gwen Ifill as the "moderator" for the OBiden/Palin debate.

Now Barack has to find more money to pay fr all the kiddies' candy.

Where is there ANY objectivity?
i love that mccain's camp can't come up with a positive campaigning strategy without ripping it off of barack.

and..."i'm john mccain, we shouldn't blame people. you know who's fault this is?"
Great ad Sen. McCain.
Please continue to discuss about
1) Reform vs. more corruption;
2) Small government vs Big Government; and
3) Low taxes and energy

I have a question to the citizens of Alaska.

Has Sarah been embarrassing you?

Did she have you all completely snowed?

Has her popularity decreased?

I did see the protest against Palin in Alaska.  Those people seemed to be reasonable and happy to voice their views.  Why are they not being covered by the media.

The more I find out about Sarah, the more I am very afraid of her in the VP position.

And I guess she is likable, if you can get past there shrill voice...

I viewed her debates online and she did well.  I am sure she will have the mccain talking points down cold by tomorrow.

BUT THAT DOES NOT make her ready to run the country.

I hear people say she has more experience than Obama.  I disagree.  Him running his own presidential campaign is comparable to running her state with it's population.  PLUS, for almost 2 years he has put himself out there for us to test and evaluate every little detail of his life... even his kindergarten papers!

He's been in his State Senate and a Law professor after EARNING the job as president of the Harvard Law Review.

His BS degree did not take 6 years, like hers (failing out of two of them).
I expect her to read and memorize since she was a news caster before mayor of her small town.

I am a Republican woman over 50 and could not vote for her or Mccain because

               I CARE about MY COUNTRY!

                     DON'T YOU???

say NO to mccain/palin
That why we need BARACK OBAMA.  Couldn't said it better myself.
McCain has a habit of sticking out his tongue after he delivers a verbal jab at his opponent.  He managed to avoid doing that in this commercial so that's good.
Ok. I would like to ask a question to Sen. McCain.  Sir, if you love veterans so much and they know it, why are a lot of veterans not happy with votes that you have cast on the floor of the senate that are anti veterans? If you love us so much, why did you not vote for the improved GI bill? A lot of us sacrificed our youths but a lot have sacrificed their lives because "THEY" put country first. Why do you not think is fair for the country to offer more than what we have now, which is very sub-par care, very few health options, and little chances of getting quality education and services?  If you can make a case, I am willing to listen. Otherwise, sir, please, dispense with all this whaaaaa whaaaa whaaaa
McCain would run this country into utter bankruptcy...with China being the cashing in creditor...better brush up on your Mandrin!
Looks like we landed McBush's vote for Barack as he is the only one that fits the bill. Wonder how McGov feels about being deserted.
It is so funny how McCain keeps plagiarizing stuff Obama said first -- this is straight from Obama's 2004 convention speech + what Obama was saying about economic oversight two weeks ago while McCain was still saying we were in great shape!
After reading the comments.
I believe we should raise the voting age to 21.
Yhank god 18 to 25 yr olds do not vote and frankly your not very bright.
The drama queen now wants to act bi-partisan and presidential?  Too late--Obama already has that role and he's nailing it!!!
Great idea about doing an ad looking straight into the camera?  Can't he come up w/ his own?  Oh wait those are really bad (Palin, suspend campaign ...)
McMeltdown and his "Spin out of control Express" bus just hit the wall! New's at eleven.
McCain.
WE HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN That you are a DE-REGULATOR!!!

DE-REGULATOR........DE-REGULATOR.........DE-REGULATOR

The DE-REGULATOR is at it again.
Let us not forget he pushed the issue of deregulation and kept pushing it until we got....
Well where we are now.

Let us say to McCain it was you that caused this mess, you and your party & your LOBBYISTS, MY FRIEND. Deregulations of the banking community is what got us into this mess.

You are such a LIAR.....

Hey "Hillary Democrats for McCain":

If you're so gung ho for "small government" then why did you support Hillary who has built her fine career on putting the government to work on behalf of the people?  Are you a real person or just Rick Davis posting under a phony name?
When i saw this ad, I just laughed so hard, it still hurts! I mean are you kidding me?? Look how old this guy is, he has no plans for the future, he has a sucky VP that doesnt know ANYTHING and now he is the leader after he didn't get anything done last week and continues to attack Obama  and lie out of desperation this week... who are kidding?? Honestly, who is going to vote for this old, out of touch Bush clone??

The man is a clown! He shouldn't even be running for president, he should be retiring and looking after his health. This election maybe so tough on him at the end he might not take it! Sorry McSame, its Obama's time, It's America's time, It's The World's time!.... Not yours!

Obama-Biden 08/12!!!
What a weak.
