McCain: Will the Wright card work?

Posted: Thursday, October 02, 2008 9:25 AM by Carrie Dann

Time looks at McCain's various news cycle ploys and notes: "Even if such attacks could potentially give McCain a brief boost, it's not at all clear that they would help for the long haul. After all, since mid-summer, the Arizona senator has effectively dominated the day-to-day media narrative through a series of surprising, bold and, to some, reckless tactical moves designed to keep his opponent on the ropes. Whether he's been depicting Barack Obama as Paris Hilton, selecting the little known governor of Alaska as his running mate, manufacturing the lipstick-on-a-pig contretemps, or, most recently, ‘suspending’ his campaign to tend to the financial crisis, McCain has consistently garnered the headlines and forced his opponent to respond.”

Video: Sen. John McCain addresses some of the bailout bill's tax breaks, such as the $192 million for rum producers, saying that the system in Washington needs to change.

“Each of the bold moves brought McCain short-term political gain, throwing the often unflappable Obama off his stride and keeping the Republican nominee very much in the presidential hunt in a dismal year for Republicans. But the tactics also each contained the potential for long-term political costs by distracting from, or eroding, the central McCain message."

To know as much as we know about the Obama Trauma ... listening to and respecting the racially charged and anti-American rants of Reverend White for 20 years, William Ayers, elitist remarks putting down small-town people, blaming whites for the problems facing blacks, the Muslim connection, the fact that our enemies endorse him for president, a cut and run Iraq pullout, incredible tax hikes, socialistic health care, not voting on anything except over-the-top pro-abortion policies, making millions off of the demise of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the list goes on.

I will again say that American who vote for Obama are either easily led, not smart enough to understand the man is two different people, are voting simply because of race or really want this country to take a real nosedive, economically, politically, financially and morally like never before. There are people and left wing organizations like that out there.

The Obama Trauma is a master of deception and millions of you have been deceived.
Let's not forget how Obama dissed Hillary on the floor before Bush's speech. She came over and he conveniently was asked a question by one of his advisors.
McCains' Problem:

This is why you should not vote for OBama/Biden..

NOT

This is why you should vote for McCain/Palin.

McCain is ruinning on nothing, well, perhaps some hot-air. But their is a huge hole in his ballon.
Why is Time magazine trying to make it sound like McCain would use the wright card? There is no indication of that. Besides Obama put it to bed when Wright conveniently made of fool out of himself giving Obama the opportunity to disown him. A setup political move if I ever saw one.
Bold?  BOLD?

More like desperate, irratic, confused...

I can't believe you call this silliness BOLD...
I live in Az and am waaay too familar with McCain and his "antics". There are  many Republicans here that will stay home before voting for him. An ad should be run that includes:
McCain and the disgusting joke he made about Chelsea Clinton at a private fund raiser, every time he voted in support of deregulation, every time he hugged Bush, every time he voted with Bush, his stand on the main issues when he ran in 2000,2004 and 2008, his against and then for Jerry Falwell and the religoius right, his more " infamous" interviews with the Arizona Republic, the date he was legally divorced and the date he filed Cindy. There's enough here for an hour of ads - all can be substantiated with taped footage, newspaper, magazine articles and taped interviews.
He also runs the risk that his scandals will be revealed and not to mention the witch doctor pastor of Sarah Palin. Can't McCain see that the tactic employed by HRC, did not work. Everyone seems to be dismissing that Obama won the primary with all of this stuff being played in loops for 12 days!!! On every channel. What HRC couldn't do to Obama the media tried, and failed, so while it wouldn't surprise me if McCain failed to see how stupid a tack that would be, it would also not surprise me if he tried it, he's desperate.
You already brouht it up, just by asking the question.
"But the tactics also each contained the potential for long-term political costs by distracting from, or eroding, the central McCain message."

McCain's campaign has a central message?  Who knew...
