CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Palin continued her attacks on Obama for his ties to William Ayers Monday, but slightly changed her wording, saying Obama had worked with the “former domestic terrorist.”

Palin had said throughout the weekend that Obama was “palling around” with Ayers, while media reports suggested the two were not particularly close. On Monday, she avoided the "pal" term, but said the two had worked together. And Palin added more background to her argument, noting that Obama’s aides said the two were friendly.

Video: Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is fighting back after GOP vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin said Obama "pals around with terrorists." NBC’s Andrea Mitchell reports.

“Barack Obama says that Ayers was just someone in the neighborhood,” she told several thousand people at a rally at Coachman Park. “But that’s less than truthful. His own top advisor said they were, quote, ‘certainly friendly.’ In fact, Obama held one of his first meetings of his political career in Bill Ayers’s living room. And they’ve worked together on various projects in Chicago.”

The continued attack comes as Palin opened the door Monday to going after Obama’s association with Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Although McCain has said he will not attack Obama for his relationship with his controversial former pastor, Palin told columnist Bill Kristol she thought it was fair game.

“Those were appalling things that that pastor had said about our great country, and to have sat in the pews for 20 years and listened to that -- with, I don’t know, a sense of condoning it, I guess, because he didn’t get up and leave -- to me, that does say something about character,” she told Kristol, a New York Times columnist. “But, you know, I guess that would be a John McCain call on whether he wants to bring that up.”

At the church Palin worshipped, the Wall Street Journal reported, "The Rev. Ed Kalnins, pastor of the Pentecostal church, Wasilla Assembly of God, says he has told church members that God put President George W. Bush in office and that America is locked in a 'holy war' with terrorists."

"In 2004, [Kalnins] told church members if they voted for John Kerry for president, they wouldn't get into heaven. He told them, 'I question your salvation.'"

There also was an insert in a bulleting at Wasilla Bible Church, which read, "You'll be encouraged by the power of God's love and His desire to transform the lives of those impacted by homosexuality," AP reported.

Additionally, there was a video that surfaced of Palin being blessed "by a Kenyan pastor who prayed for her protection from 'witchcraft' as she prepared to seek higher office,"  the AP and others reported. And Palin called the building of a pipeline "God's will" just this past June.

At today's rally, Palin acknowledged things could get dicey in the next four weeks.

“So, Florida, you know that you’re gonna have to hang on to your hats," she said, "because from now until Election Day, it may get kinda rough.”

With Sen. Joe Lieberman by her side, Palin also compared herself to the Tampa Bay Rays, now seeking a trip to the World Series.

“I know that earlier some of the experts this year were kinda tough on the Rays," she said. "I’ve been there. Florida knows a little something about turning an underdog into a victor.”

A few points.

A.Sarah Palin said she was reading a NY times article the other day about Ayers. Pretty amazing that it was "the other day" because that article was published in September of 2001. She also must not have the mental fortitude to finish reading a story. The conclusion of the article stated that to call Ayers a friend is a lie at best. Barack was 8 years old when Ayers was part of the so called "terrorist group" and that Obama served on the same board with him and several other people for school reform. Hardly a "pal".

B. Let's talk about you Sarah. Two clips have recently surfaced on youtube and other sites. One shows the leader of the Alaska secesionist party(You know the one. Your husband was a member for 7 years and you continually courted them throughout your political career) saying that he hates America and would rather burn in hell than be buried under it's flag. The second shows you sitting in the front pew of a church you frequently attend nodding your head agreeingly while the pastor preaches about how Isreal deserves everything it gets because jews did not accept Jesus Christ.

C. My new favorite clip is of McCain in 2000 talking to reporters on the "Straight Talk Express". John said that any campaign that decides to go negative obviously does not have a grasp of the issues or a vision for America's future. The team he was referring too was Bush's campaign staff. Ironically all of those people are on McCain's staff today.

This desperate last ditch attempt won't work Johnny boy. Yea sure it gets morons like full moon all fired up but you already have the right-wing low information vote so why court them anymore? Facts don't lie and poll numbers grow for Obama every time an undecided voter sifts through the bull and starts to figure out that they agree with Obama's policy, thoughtfulness and even temper in the face of crisis. Good luck with your hate filled smear campaign. Like you said yourself in 2000. It shows us that you have no grasp of issues or a vision for America's future.

First Read, it's pretty clear that you will make sure that any attack on Obama (no matter how true) will sure to be met by an accompanying attack on McCain/Palin. Just reading the above and reiterating all the stuff on Palin is more evidence of that. Yet several of your postings which focused on attacks against McCain, never once countered (i.e."balance") with an attack against Obama/Biden.  For a conservative to win an election they have to defeat both the liberals and the media since they are one and the same.
What is also clear is that the McCain camp is now labeled "desperate" for running "smear campaigns" against Obama for raising legitimate concerns over Obama's ties to extreme left leaning folks whose actions show disdain for America.  And the Obama camp is perceived as "squeaky clean" for supposedly not doing the same.  It's pretty easy to understand why....they have the media doing it for them. As a conservative I certainly don't expect the media to show favor to my candidate.  But I also expect them to show objectivity in what they do report on and what they choose selectively not to report on.  How is it that we know every little detail from Alaska about Palin (even the untruths) and yet you guys have never given us even close to the same level of coverage about Obama's background and his ties??
gosh darn it, wink, wink - I cant take any more of that woman...
You know what?  Look at the financial crisis right now and then tell me that Rev. Wright was wrong!  I am a white methodist, but I do believe that America certainly is not being blessed!

Rev. Wright should not have said "G-d damn America"  He should have said "Republicans damn America"

Must see 13 minute video on Keating Economics that will be posted on the web @ 12:00 noon eastern time by the Obama campaign.

No way/No How/No McCain/Palin  ... No more lies - No more moronic incompetence ............ ENOUGH!!!!
Squwaaaaak!  Not pals not pals.  What John????  Passed on the street?  OK..
Squwaaaak!  Passed on the street passed on the street!
Awful man Awful man.  Squwaaaaak!
We're Mavericks We're Hockey Moms....Squwak what?  I'm a hockey mom!  I'm a hockey mom.
Palin does not know what she is doing, she let McCain destory her political aspirations. She has turned into a lier, and  negative politician. SNL, did a great job on her. She has no substance the Republican Party could have done better. Now they are going to start using all the lies they have, this because they have nothing to lose. They are losing the election. Americans do not want to hear more negative stuff, we have enough with th e job lost and economy. We need to see a leader that talks about issues and how he is going to fix them.OBAMA/BIDEN 08
This kind of character assassination sadly worked in 2004 when Kerry got swiftboated.  However, Obama is counter punching hard (Keating 5 ads), and, more importantly, we are in economic turmoil.

McCain trying to "turn the page" on the economy when people's 401k's are plumetting and are worried to death about keeping their jobs is not going to be effective, and may even be very hurtful to his chances.  \

I predict Obama takes a 15 point lead in major polls this week.  This election is finished, thank goodness.

OBAMA-BIDEN 2008
First Read should report on issues that matter. Not merely the rantings of an unqualified candidate which have been reported over and over again to be inaccurate.  You continue to be stuck on "STUPID".  The tail is wagging the DOG!  Why are you allowing yourself to be manipulated by the McShame/Pain campaign?  What about the Rolling Stone article on John McCain, Troopergate, anti-palin rallies in Alaska, etc.  "IT's the ECONOMY STUPID"
If character is an issue in this election, Palin and McCain are helping Obama to become our next president by their sleazy attacks and childish lies.  I once had respect for both Mccain and Palin but they have squashed any positive feelings that I once had.
What's the difference between a pitbull and an undergdog?

A Joe Lieberman chew toy.

Mccain has his own terrorist, He's been Palling around with Gordon Liddy. He has received campaign donations from him this year. He has also had a fund raiser hosted by Liddy at Liddy's house.

Go to youtube: John Mccain's,thug, criminal, un-american
This guilt by association stuff is BS.  Seriously, all businessmen, politicians and people in general have once associated with slimy characters.

Example:  McCain has associated with Larry Craig.  And there are many, many more examples in McCain's camp.  Do the Republicans really want to go there?
She has done more than jut "pal around" with questionable characters.  This woman has no moral bearings whatsoever.  She is casting a lot of stones from her all glass castle.  She is married to a supporter of Alaska seceding from the USA.  How patriotic is that?  Invoking Rev. Wright when she SAT through an antisemitic sermon.  She has a lot of nerve and a little brain.
This pitbull has to do all she can to keep the troopergate questions from being asked, now that the truth may be closer to being released.By the tone of the repuks attacks they have only one thing in mind at thats to destract the attention from the ecnomonic conditions, heck it's only Monday morning and the market is down 500 points. So Rev Wright will be next and in weeks to come there will be a steady diet of there mud slinging, but hay when thats all you have to offer its all ya got!!!
You know what?  Look at the financial crisis right now and then tell me that Rev. Wright was wrong!  I am a white methodist, but I do believe that America certainly is not being blessed!

Rev. Wright should not have said "G-d damn America"  He should have said "Republicans damn America"
Sad sad sad. Might I remind people that Palin was pretty cozy with a group of anti-American separatists in Alaska? She actively courted the group. Her husband was a member. That's a bit more "buddy buddy" than working with someone on a board. Of course Obama was "friendly" with Ayers. So was most of Chicago. Is Palin calling most of the city of Chicago a "friend to terrorists?" Isn't she a Christian? Doesn't she believe in forgiveness and second chances? Ayers has done nothing but good in his later adult life. Palin needs to go back to church...but preferably a different one than the one she's frequented before.
John McCain always says "put country first".  His pick of Sarah Palin was done for political reasons (woman, young, charismatic) and not for her qualifications (no foreign policy, economic, health care experience to lead this great country).  SO John McCain is willing to betray his ideals and his country inorder to try to win an election.  With all the other Republicans to pick from who are qualified (Romney, Rice, Lugar, Hutchinson etc) he picked someone who is clueless.
PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN GLASS HOUSES SHOULDN'T THROW STONES!!

FROM TPM:

Palin's Attack On Obama's Patriotism Legitimizes Questions About The Palins' Association With Group Founded By America-Hating Secessionist

By Greg Sargent - October 4, 2008, 4:55PM

Sarah Palin attacked Obama's patriotism today over his association with former Weatherman Bill Ayers -- a move that makes it perfectly legitimate to raise questions about the Palins' associations with a group founded by an Alaska secessionist who once professed his "hatred for the American government" and cursed our "damn flag."

In Colorado today, Palin seized on the big front-page New York Times story about Ayers and Obama, which concludes that the two men "do not appear to have been close," to launch her most vicious attack yet on the Illinois Senator -- a harbinger of what's to come.

"This is not a man who sees America as you and I do -- as the greatest force for good in the world," Palin said. "This is someone who sees America as imperfect enough to pal around with terrorists who targeted their own country."

If Palin is going to say this, it is now perfectly legitimate to point out that she repeatedly courted a secessionist group founded by someone who openly professed hatred of the American government, cursed our flag, and wanted to secede from the Union. Sarah's husband, Todd Palin, was a member of this group, which continues to venerate that founder to this day, for years.

As you already know, the group is the Alaska Independence Party, which sees as its ultimate goal seceding from the union. Todd was a member, with a brief exception, from 1995 until 2002, according to the Division of Elections in Alaska.

And though Sarah Palin herself was apparently not a member of this group, there's no doubt that she repeatedly courted this secessionist organization over the years. In 1994, Palin attended the group's annual convention, according to witnesses who spoke to ABC News' Jake Tapper. The McCain campaign has confirmed she visited the group's 2000 convention, and she addressed its convention this year, as an incumbent governor whose oath of office includes upholding the Constitution of the United States.

The founder of the AIP was a man named Joe Vogler. Here's what he had to say in a 1991 interview, only a few years before Palin attended its convention: "The fires of hell are frozen glaciers compared to my hatred for the American government."

He also said this: "And I won't be buried under their damn flag. I'll be buried in Dawson. And when Alaska is an independent nation they can bring my bones home."

Vogler has also said: "I'm an Alaskan, not an American. I've got no use for America or her damned institutions."

McCain apologists will argue that Sarah Palin was not a member of this group. But Obama wasn't a member of any Ayers anti-American group, either. And again, Palin repeatedly courted the AIP, and her husband was a member for years.

The main takeaway from today's Times story is that Obama's ties to Ayers are, if anything, less substantial than commonly alleged. So if the Ayers association means Obama "palled around" with "terrorists," as Palin put it today, surely Palin can be said to have "palled around" with a secessionist party whose founder openly professed hatred of America.

If Palin is going to directly question Obama's patriotism over his association Ayers, surely all these facts are now fair game and freshly relevant.

Pitiful Palin lives with a separatist who wants Alaska to be independ from the United States.  Now that's scary.  McCain sold his soul to Charles Keating's money.  That's sad.

Watch McCain's numbers drop...not as low as Bush, but in the low 40's.  If he keeps this attack for a week, his recovery will be impossible.
Governor Palin must be able to see Afghanistan from her house.  Otherwise, why would she call Afghanistan "our neighboring country"?

http://blogs.reuters.com/trail08/2008/10/05/in-slip-up-palin-calls-afghanistan-our-neighboring-country/
Sarah - you and your lies and hypocrisy have got to go.
You can just smell the desperation. The republicans are going to lose in a landslide!
Let's not throw stones in a glass house Gov. Palin! Can we say "Troopergate"!! You will be lucky if they don't ask you to step down as Gov. after the investigation, or perhaps even "GO TO JAIL"! Let's not forget one very important thing here, Ayers's is a free man!! Keating is in "Jail"!!!!! You do the math STUPID!!
Barack "works" with 99 other member of the Senate including John McCain.  By this twit's analogy, Obama's views are in lock step with all the other senators.  I don't think this is relevant.....
Obama was eight years old at that time in the timultuous 60's when Ayers was in the weather underground; I would guess Palin was about the same age.  I doubt that Palin had ever heard of Ayers until McCain put her up to this.

Ayers is apparently rehabilited and is now a professor of education at the University of Illinois, Chicago; he has written or edited 15 books, mostly on education.
Sarah - you and your lies and hypocrisy have got to go.

William Ayers is a professor at the University of Chicago and his activities with the Weather Underground occurred when Barack Obama was 8 years old. The DOW fell below 10,000 today and John McCain's participation in the Keating Five when he was 58 years old is much more revelant to the future of the American people than Sarah Palin's latest gibberish! John McCain was sanctioned by the Senate for his participation as one of the Keating Five and wasn't sent to jail like his fellow pals and participants. It is believed he was let off the hook for his crimes due to his military history of being a POW. I believe he has already received enough mileage from his unfortunate time as a POW and we need to hold him to account for his continued policies that has given us a repeat at a larger scale of his savings and loan scandal and that bailout. The S&L scandal makes this most recent result of his policies look like small potatoes. We can't afford more of this, and will not be distracted by nonsense attacks on Senator Obama. NO MCCAIN/PALIN = LIAR/LIAR = BUSH/CHENY X 10.
Listening to Palin makes my skin crawl. She is Trash, and need to go back to Alaska. John McCain must be out of his mind. So much for experience and age.
MSNBC-Do your job! Someone there has to have the decency to tell the your viewers that this woman is so utterly stupid. Johm McCain is bad enough, but Sarah Paylin as a possible President? God save us.
She and McCain are mindless.  As all else has failed, nothing left but to attack.  Bush's, Sr's MO toward Clinton, too, and we all know how that worked out.

May God help our next President
Six pack Palin out to discuss her husband's association with an Alaskan group who have voiced a desire to secede from the United States.  Or maybe she should explain the role that McCain played as one of the Keating Five.  Or maybe she'd like to elaborate on more of her dealings in Alaska, or offer us insight into Cindy McCain's addiction problems.  When it comes to low politics the Republicans are the best.  Gee, I wonder if I could build a coalition around those who smoke two packs of cigaretts a day and abuse little children?
She and McCain are mindless.  As all else has failed, nothing left but to attack.  Bush's, Sr's MO toward Clinton, too, and we all know how that worked out.

May God help our next President
Issues people.  The DOW is down nearly 500 pts, our economy is in the tank.  What does anything in this election cycle have to do with Ayers.   No more distractions!  No more from the McCain camp!  Get on board with Obama to fix this country for the future.
She and McCain are mindless.  As all else has failed, nothing left but to attack.  Bush's, Sr's MO toward Clinton, too, and we all know how that worked out.

May God help our next President
1st! How does Palin have any room to talk when she is currently ducking her own investigation??? this chic trippin'
Funny how Palin has to keep backtracking on the incendiary remarks she made about Obama this weekend. Clearly McCain's campaign is in full-out win-at-any-costs mode. Meanwhile, I really don't think Palin shold get into a war about what went on in Obama's church... some of what's been reported about her church isn't exactly mainstream.
Does anyone else sense a little desperation?
Nicely partisan.  MSNBC Setting the standard.  I like how you cursorily cover the accusations against Obama, and then pivot to attack Palin.  I am sure Obama will let you into heaven.
Can somebody please tell me how this woman has room to talk. Her pastor believe in witch hunts in Africa witch is like one of those lottery emails. She used to protest and block abortion clinics. She and her husband hung with that radical group that does not thing very highly of America.  She is a hypocrite and a liar.  She believes in censorship for religious reasons. Cronyism and pure abuse of power. She also wants to be the most powerful VP in history so may be that slip of the tongue when she sad the   Palin /McCain adminstration was no slip.  Or should it read Palin/McCain/ Palin
More good news for Obama... voters in FL won't be too happy about this tidbit

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/06/mccain-plans-to-cut-medic_n_132169.html
I honestly don't believe the McCain/Palin ticket want to go there.  Too many skeletons in their respective closets that I feel sure both want to keep under wraps.  It just goes to show that the STUPIDS don't get it.
I cannot believe this no nothing from Alaska with her weird religion (speaking in tongues is fake)and a husband who has actively campaigned for the secession of alaska from the union...this is very unpatriotic and sounds traitorous to me...how come you flag waving faux patriots on the right aren't all over this?
What exactly is the actack that the republicans are alleging against Obama regarding Ayers?  Obama was in grammar school when Ayers was commiting illegal acts; so it isn't that he was a participant in the Weatherman Underground.

Has Obama supported or condoned Ayers conduct or ideals?  Has he taken money, advice or support for his political career?  What EXACTLY is the scandal?  Spell it out or shut up about it?
Note to McCain/Palin camp--instead of giving us 100 reasons not to vote for Obama, please come up with one reason, and one reason only to vote Republican this year. They are doing the country and voters a disgrace by not addressing the issues that are important. The Dow was down 575 today, and they want to inject Ayers or Rev Wright into this? Good luck with that.
Interesting that this slander against Obama is being used on the day that the World Stock Markets are crashing.  What world is the McCAin Campaign living in?  As for Sarah Palin, I find it interesting that she would be the attacker on this issue when her husband was a member of a radical political party in Alaska for over 5 years.  That party advocated Alaska's independence from the USA.
What a twat
You go Sarah...everybody is saying she has become the attack dog of the campaign. Generally that is the role of the VP to play attack dog while the candidate handles the issues.

Joe Biden (sorry for his loss by the way) has also been on the attack against McCain.  It doesn't always sound so bad from him because he and John are good friends and he truly likes McCain.  Most Dems do like McCain.  He's worked with so many of them on such important issues.

Anyway, Sarah is doing just fine.
