*** UPDATE *** After a late rally, the market finished down 370 points, but fell below 10,000 for the first time in four years.

How about this story about the true friendship between John McCain and 'radical' David Ifshin ?

But what about McCain's own associations with former 60's radicals. Indeed, until just a few years ago, McCain openly boasted not only about his passing friendship but also his deep collaboration with one of the most prominent of Vietnam-era student radicals, David Ifshin. The same David Ifshin who denounced America on Radio Hanoi as McCain sat locked up as a POW.

this is enough. when the economy is suffering and the markets went down over 760 points McCain is discussing guilt by association. Please, how is this putting money in my pocket to pay my bills or create jobs? This is riduclous considering that the media debunked the story. Ayers and Obama have no relationship. They sat in a charity board for education. That is it. As Obama said today, McCain aid indicated that talking about the economy means McCain loses. Obama said people are losing their jobs and retirement funds. McCain is not putting country first, he is putting himself first.

Stock analysts all over the place seem to be changing their message from "hold" to "every man for himself."

Even the relatively bullish Jim Kramer this morning was saying if you think you might need the money in the next five years, you'd better pull it out of the market now.

More and more, I hear 8400 being thrown around as a new target floor for the Dow, but admittedly I have no idea how people have come up with that figure.

Last Monday was Black Monday with the largest point drop in DOW history and today became another Black Monday as the DOW dropped 782 points in intraday trading. Two Mondays and two records and the market isn't finished yet.

Thanks for actually reporting the real news. This crisis is what will be on people's minds when they go into the voting booth. What EXACTLY do John and Sarah plan to do to help the American people, whose futures are looking a bit shaky at the moment?

If anyone has an answer, please feel free to provide it. All I'm hearing from McCain-Palin is "blah-blah-blah-Ayers". That, my friends, has ZERO bearing on these troubling times.
