Obama: Hagel's wife to endorse

Posted: Tuesday, October 07, 2008 9:07 AM by Domenico Montanaro

The wife of GOP Sen. Chuck Hagel (NE) will throw her support to Obama today in Virginia, the AP reports. Sen. Hagel has yet to endorse, though he accompanied Obama on a trip overseas during this campaign. Also in attendance at the event will be Susan Eisenhower, granddaughter of Dwight Eisenhower. Eisenhower has written an op-ed in support of Obama.

And another government grant story… "Obama awarded $75,000 in government grants to a Chicago social service organization led by a rabbi who is also his wife's cousin, records show," AP reports.

Debate continues on whether Obama knew of Ayers' history.

Obama/Biden '08
Republicans with good sense know McCain is a sinking ship...let them all stand up to be counted.

Now that McCain has decided to go for broke, let us all take a deep breath and realize that as I have said, he lacks the temperament and the judgement to be POTUS.

McCain has always been a crook and if you examine his so called maverick stance, it was all a gamble rather than a coherent policy stance.  Look at this below

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/10/07/politics/main4505539.shtml
When is Senator Hagel going to endorse?

I'm betting in the next two weeks.  Oh, and then the GOP will publicly disown him as a 'terrorist-loving-pinko-commie'.  Ugh.

http://thepajamapundit.com/
Now all we need is Hagel himself to endorse Obama. Thanks Mrs. Hagel and welcome to the winning team.
Not that endorsements necessarily matter; but I do want to know where Colin Powell is on this?  The Bush Administration hung the man out to dry and I am sure he is conflicted because he believes in the Republican Party (of old - not this neocon crap).

I know there are some principled Republicans who disagree on policy.  It is too bad they no longer have a party that represents them.  I'm looking at Christine Todd Whitman, Chuck Hagel, Colin Powell - I am sure there are many others.  I was once a 'Reagan' Republican.  The healing was long; but worth it!
Less than a month to go and NOW she's throwing her support behind Obama? Pleeze. The "real" Americans have been behind Obama from the Primaries on......this would be like Powell coming out now and supporting Obama...........thanks, but we did it WITHOUT you chickens and he's going to win whether or not you now "support" him!    Obama/Biden '08/'12
A little disjointed on the topics here aren't we? 7 sentences, 3 paragraphs, and only half of them seem to relate to the headline of the article. A little kitchen sink strategy to benefit the McCain campaign maybe...
The wife of GOP Sen. Chuck Hagel (NE) has shown her support to Obama is a wise decision due to the out-touch- failed Bush/McCain policies. I applaud her motivation and hope her husband will follow suit because...
McCain/ Palin are equivalent to X (xy) =>0.
No way
No how
No McCain/ Palin
Nobody but Obama/Biden

Who has the most to prove, an old rich white man or a young intelligent black man? By the way I am white. We all need to support Obama. McCain and Palin are not the answer to the problems we are having. Obama will have his hands full but at least he will bring the right people in to solve the problems. McCain would bring in people to make him richer than he already is.
we all know know Sen. Chuck Hagel is lovin Obama too.

Obama 08
Go Obama! Can't wait till November 4th. Our Nation needs help, the McBush have left it almost on empty. They have destroyed our economy, jobs, healthcare, education, American's are suffering.
When the high profile Republicans come out to openly endorse Obama things are not looking good for McCain.

What does the $75K grant have to do with anything? Were there illegalities? Something unethical? Where is the story?

As for Ayers...when will the MSM stop the nonsense? Barack Obama was 8 years old and living in Indonesia when Ayers was running around being a PITA.  If he is such a known terrorist why is he not locked up in Gitmo?

If McCain is attempting to make Obama an accomplice to Ayers he is failing miserably. They were on separate continents and generations apart so the time line is not working.

Additionally, for the MSM to insist that Obama should have vetted everyone that he has ever served on a board with is ludacris. By that measure, everyone in the present Congress should resig in protest because they are serving with Congressman Rush from IL who was a member of another radical group from the 70's, the Black Panther Party!!

Issues please. That BS from the past is a sideshow orchestrated by McCain. Let him dangle in the wind. Keep the conversation at a higher level. For example:

"Senator McCain you can continue to talk about William Ayers, et al but the Obama campaign will continue to talk about the economy."
congratulations Obama, another credible endorsement!

But...but...but I thought Obama didn't have the power to cross party lines like the "maverick" John McCain can!

And another McCain attack whimpers out like a dying rat...
Perhaps more important than Hagel's wife endorsing Obama is the fact that Peggy Noonan won't make any endorsement.

I was a little shocked last night watching Hardball when she said she was still undecided on who to vote for.
Headlines of an endorsement and
a little blurb at the bottom about granting money (75k)to a family member?  This is the kind of thing that should scare people, why isnt it a headline?
Why should it matter if Obama knew of his history; I quite sure Ayers isn't proud of what he has done in the past. The past is the past, and should be kept there. Since Palin open this closet door, I am quite sure she has a lot of skeltons in her closet. And now she is inciting racial riots; and that just what you can call it when a black newsreporter is called a "boy". She probably thought it was cute. She should not be cover or reported by any news station, news paper or anything related to news. McCain, Palin and their committee should not be allowed to intice people like that these days. America has come to far to be taken back 100 years. It was definitely uncall for and she should have to pay the price of no more press coverage. She has gone to far!
The clarity is blinding. McCain Palin have nothing to offer but fear itself.
Dear American Friends,

we should never elect a president who resort to character assissination to become a president
What Macain and PAllin are doing is just too shamefull!

Thanks
The Debate on Mr. Ayers is falling on Deaf Ears with me.  Name me one person who writes, tells the news, or comments on this blog, who at one time in their life has not unwhittingly hung around with someone or talked to someone somewhere....your mother would not approve of?  I will continue to support Barack Obama...because if THIS is all the Repbublicans have on him......than the rest of Obama's background must be pretty damn good, and good enough for me.
TIRED OF THIS, SHUT UP ALREADY. wHY ARE U NOT TALKING ABOUT MCCAIN WHEN HE SAT ON A BOARD WITH RACISTS.
HOW IS THAT NOT RELEVANT. MSNBC U GUYS ARE FOOLS JUST LIKE CNN AND FOX. I CAN NOT STAND U FOOLS ANYMORE.
WOW  even the  GOP  are jumpin into  Obama... This is to show how bad the Republican are..
Just remember  REPUBLICANS  =  R  =  RECESSION
Hmm,

Obama is linked to an organization that is linked to "social services" (likely to lower class type people)that was led by a known and confessed Rabbi. Some $75,000 somehow got into the hands of this group with the help of Senator Obama which eventually was spent on little known about "projects" within an area referred to only as "the community". I can see the next McCain-Palin attack coming.
Why not? Everyone else with a cerebral cortex is.
Thank you for standing up for what you believe in, Mrs. Hagel. I would hope that your husband and Colin Powell will both publically endorse the Obama/Biden ticket.

The choice for president is clear - Barack Obama.
There are traitors everywhere.  But not this Peeee OH DoubleU, no sir.  I'm so sick of the press reporting stuff like this and when I'm elected you can bet I'll silence these bums and you my friends - the people won't have to hear what I'm doing.  That's better for you you know.  Of course if you want some bar b que recipes just write.
Since when is working to get a grant for a well established, much needed community organization is seen as a negative thing to do?  Come on, people! When there are such huge issues facing our country, why are we even discussing this? Let's demand that the candidates and the main stream media focus on the real issues:  economy, war in Iraq, health care, social security.

I think you might be surprised at how many republicians will vote democratic this year. I think they are really worried about McCain and his lack of
stability and lack of judgement where Palin is concerned. This man McCain is a loose cannon and his running mate is a woman who will say or do anything she is told. Knowing she is being led by the Bushies
is very worrisom. McCain has let these same people run him and his campaign. Thank you Mrs Hagel.

Obama/Biden
marty
Now that's funny!  If Hagel's wife is voting for Obama then it shows that the Bush Hugger has a big problem within his own party.

I just hope that she can convince Chuck to vote for Obama, he can use every vote in Nebraska as he forces the Dumb and Dumber ticket to defend what should be a totally red state.

Go Obama/Biden 08/12!
However there is no doubt that McCain knew of David Isfin's history as he was forced to listen to Ishfin's anti American broadcasts from Hanoi while a guest at the "Hanoi Hilton". According to all accounts in later years they not only worked together closely on normalizing relations with Vietnam but became good friends while doing so.
Why no reporting on this? Although I think McCain and Ishfin are to be applauded for their work somehow I don't think the crowds at Palins rallies would understand. It would hurt their heads.
