McCain: Hope and resolve

Posted: Thursday, October 09, 2008 9:07 AM by Carrie Dann

The Washington Post’s Balz writes that McCain’s candidacy right now is a little like the declining stock market. “Lack of confidence breeds retreat. He needs an injection of fresh political confidence.” Yet Balz continues that Team McCain has been in this position before. But inside the McCain campaign there is resolve, which comes from the candidate himself. Whatever difficult days lie ahead, they believe they have seen worse. McCain put it best in his closing statement Tuesday: "I know what it's like in dark times. I know what it's like to have to fight to keep one's hope going through difficult times. I know what it's like to rely on others for support and courage and love in tough times. I know what it's like to have your comrades reach out to you and your neighbors and your fellow citizens and pick you up and put you back in the fight."

“The homeowner assistance plan that Senator John McCain announced without detail in the presidential debate Tuesday night,” the New York Times writes “would allow millions of financially stretched Americans to refinance their mortgages with government help, but it would leave taxpayers to cover the losses, rather than the financial institutions that hold the original mortgages. Mr. McCain said in the debate that the program would be expensive, and on Wednesday his chief economic adviser, Douglas Holtz-Eakin, acknowledged that the liability would be borne directly by taxpayers.”

Politico says McCain “made an overnight change in the homeowner bailout he proposed at Tuesday’s presidential debate, making it more generous to financial institutions and more costly for taxpayers. McCain's staff says it was always meant that way.”

A Washington Post editorial also points out that the proposal “would benefit borrowers and lenders who made bad decisions and, at least as Mr. Holtz-Eakin described it, it lacks a clear mechanism for reassembling and extricating whole mortgages from the welter of securities "tranches" into which Wall Street slices and dices them.”

George Will writes the pre-McCain obit. "When cranky, as he frequently was, Baltimore Orioles manager Earl Weaver would shout at an umpire, 'Are you going to get any better or is this it?' With, mercifully, only one debate to go, that is the question about John McCain's campaign." Pivoting off McCain's bailout proposal, Will adds, "Still it may be politically prudent for McCain to throw caution, and billions, to the wind. Obama is competitive in so many states that President Bush carried in 2004 (including Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, Colorado and New Mexico), it isn't eccentric to think he could win at least 350 of the 538 electoral votes."

As long as the McCain campaign continues to try to change the subject from the economy, their chances of winning will continue to decline.  The American voter does not want to hear about anything other than the economy.  Period.

One of the few times I agree with G. Will and that is mccant is done for, I can faintly hear that weight challenged lady singing .
Has anyone seen the article in Time about McCain's tie to the Annenebergs? It states:
This morning John McCain put out a list of 100 former ambassadors who are supporting his campaign. Number two is Leonore Annenberg, the wife of Ambassador William Annenberg, the founder of the Annenberg Institute of Reform, which funded the Annenberg Challenge, which once had two famous board members: former "domestic terrorist" William Ayers and Sen. Barack Obama.

So either we should all be outraged that John McCain is supported by a family who funded a foundation that hired a domestic terrorist, or this whole William Ayers thing is just plain silly. I choose the latter.
<<The Washington Post’s Balz writes that McCain’s candidacy right now is a little like the declining stock market.>>

That's being too kind.  It's more like watching the Titanic.  Or the Hindenburg.  Or both rolled into one.
What's the difference between a McCain/Palin Rally and a Lynch Mob?.............LIPSTICK
The fact that McCain's campaign are such hypocrites is what has totally disgusted me.  McCain has contradicted everything he said before about staying out of dirty politics. Sarah Palin is a puppet on a string with nothing of substance to say on her own.  This woman should be capable of making some of her own decisions.  The campaign has instead decided to treat her like a 5 year old and keep her under their thumb and beckoning to only their calls and talking points. Truly pitiful.

Now McCain has the ordasity to put his wife - the would be first lady if he wins - on the mic - supposedly personally offended that Barack Obama voted against funding the troops (her son) when "daddy" did the exact same thing! Are you kidding me?

I can't find anyone around me (work, school, church, socially) that still supports this idiot but obviously there are still some.  How on earth he can still actually have voters is beyond me.

The campaign stops are filled with angry folks - almost 100% white.  What kind of President/Vice President are they proposing to be? McCain has zero interest in any other vote besides white folks, and he's happy to put into their heads that Barack is a terrorist due to a loose acquaintance with a man who did some terrible things nearly 40 years ago.

McCain should really kill it. Keith Olberman drudged up plenty of shakey "acquaintances" that could be called into question.  Ties that are much more closely related that this Ayers character is to Obama.

I hope Barack wipes the floor with this old ignorant idiot and goes over it again with that dumb bimbo Puppet Palin!  The only person running a dirty campaign is McCain. And it won't work!!!

Shame on you John McCain. I thought you were better than all of this!
Obama is going to win and in four years will be ushered out so quickly because only after he is elected will anyone truly understand what an awful choice he is.

one can only hope that his indecisiveness and lack of foreign affairs (anybody catch his crappy answer about Russia Tuesday night??) experience won't destroy our nation

btw...anybody going to talk about the ACORN scandel or maybe the MSM will just brush that under the rug under the auspice of "not important".

One last thing and then I may officially be done with this blog...in a recent poll of 18-29 year olds...Obama is the preferred drinking partner...I guess the 8 year binge with W wasn't enough.

WHO IS BARACK OBAMA??????  she asks...

A person that's been vetted like no one else in American politics for over 20 months straight.

Who is this palin couple, is what the public needs to ask.  She has been on the national scene for 5 weeks with a new fiasco out every other day...  the baby is not hers, but is her daughters, her daughter is pregnant again, not by the guy they are going to make marry her, but an African American young man, Troopergate, the AFFAIR with one of her husbands business associates, her oldest son has been in trouble with drugs and had no other option but to join the army, her witch doctor preacher, etc...

SO I ASK... WHO THE HECK ARE THEY?!?!?!

And how dare she just pop on the scene trying to question Obama as she is doing!  We know more about Obama's daughters than we do about the Palins.

Senator McCain can take his bailout to his nine homes.

There's no way taxpayers should be paying more for these bailouts.  McCain's worse than Bush at a budget.

McCain's budget
Spend $1 trillion on bailout.
Spend $300 billion on mortgage bailout.
Spend $300 giving big business and oil companies tax breaks.
Spend $120 billion in Iraq.
Spend ??? in Afghanistan.

Save $20 billion in earmarks.

Grand total for McCain's first year budget $1.7 trillion.

Think about it, Bush ran a deficit of about $500 billion a year.  McCain's first year budget is more than three times what Bush cost us.
I suspect McCain will do all he can to take Obama down in the last debate next week. I'm sure he'll find a way to bring up everything under the sun.

Obama only has to mark time.  Let the rambling old idiot loose it on a national stage.  Defend yourself, but stay cool, calm, and collected as you've always been.  Talk about the issues and be specific. And make sure you have counter attacks because this guy has plenty of shady acquaintances - far closer than Ayers.

He'll once again try to dimiss Obama. He probably won't look at him and he might call him "that one" again.  Just remember, "that one" is the one" you "can't beat"!!!!

Obama/Biden '08 and I can't wait!!!
We hear billions for this and billions for that.  I received an e-mail I like to share with you fellow bloggers.  Let me know if this is too true!
How many zeros in a billion?

This is too true to be funny.

The  next time you hear a politician use  the
word  'billion' in a casual manner, think  about
whether  you want the 'politicians' spending
YOUR
tax  money.
A  billion is a difficult number to  comprehend,
but  one advertising agency did a good job  of
putting  that figure into some perspective in
one  of its releases.

A.
A  billion seconds ago it was 1976.

B.
A  billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

C.
A  billion hours ago our ancestors were
living  in the Stone Age.

D.
A  billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two  feet.

E.
A  billion dollars ago was only
8  hours and20 minutes,
at  the rate our government
is  spending it.

While  this thought is still fresh in our brain, let's take  a look at New  Orleans. It's  amazing what you can learn with some simple  division:

Louisiana  Senator,
Mary  Landrieu (D),
is  presently asking theCongress for
$250 BILLION
to  rebuild New Orleans. Interesting  number,
what  does it mean?

A.
Well,  if you are one of
484,674  residents of
New  Orleans
(every  man, woman, child),
you each  get$516,528.

B.
Or, if you have one of the  188,251 homes in
New  Orleans, your home gets$1,329,787.

C.
Or,  if you are a family of four, your  family gets
$2,066,012.

Can  you spell 'politicians?'

It really doesn't matter which politician it is.  All their plans cost billions.
The repugnant ones are jumping off the sinking Straight Talk Titanic that hit an iceberg from Alaska and is slowly sinking in it's own hubris.  Voters want a real leader, not some old flim flam man who runs amok from one gimmick to the next.  People are smart enough to know when someone is really lying to them and that's why voters are running from "Liar" McCain and his desperado campaign of losers.

We can't trust a liar who plays bait and switch with his policies.  Obama has been straight up Honest Abe with what he intends to do, no say one thing and then do another like his lying desperado opponents.

Only Obama/Biden will bring honesty and integrity back to the White House!

Go Obama/Biden 08/12!
I guess all of these guys are in the tank for Obama as well, huh McCainiacs.  Never mind that Conservatives hate this "New" plan as much as liberals.

But of course everything this maniac does is ok with you because he puts "Country First".  Yeah, right!

Obama/Biden '08!

And then I know what it's like to come home, divorce the woman who supported me through those dark days and marry a rich dumb blonde that I continue to abuse.
And now I want to abuse the entire nation. Please elect me.
Why is it that FR does not post the neg blogs about Obama ????? or very few of them. But any Anti McCain blog is on here. FR your bias is showing very badly !
Conservative George Will is very disappointed in the poor decisions of John McCain as well he and all Republicans should be.
McCain is sounding more liberal than Obama.

John proclaimed yesterday that we are all prisoners.
Prisoners of his poor decisions leaving us with out a canadiate we can count on.
The problem the Bomber has is that his campaign has been run by the Bush Chaney team that got these two elected, using old tactics from the 90's.The Bombers campaign is running on fumes, has no plan other then two smear, distract, distort the facts,Rovien attack adds. The problem is that most have seen this and how they distroyed not only the Bomber in 2004but also Kerry.
John McCain keeps asking questions we already know about...His suspicions really show the
"Sherlock Effect" is not working...

Doctor Watson, "yes Holmes?".."has the bridge to nowhere been found in the hearts of the republicans?"...
Watson to Holmes, "well if you can find a heart there old chap, I can't see the bloody thing there"..."Bravo ", says Sherlock.

This ill vained attempt by Palin/McCain as an unadult faddism to nowhere.
We are better because we know we're on the way to the change we need..that's Obama/Biden
Hope and Resolve indeed, He hopes the voters will believe his lies and he resolves to run a worse than gutter campaign, his campaign is on the verge of being
arrested for inciting riots and hate crimes. He wants to be just like GWB and be our pretend president and have the behind the curtain bushies run the show, jut like with Bush. If this feeble minded old man steals
the election we are in a world of pain, I think we are in for a world of pain even with Obama but we would come out of this disaster much faster with a
Roosevelt acting Whitehouse. I hpe the next three month with Paulson at the wheel dont mess us up so bad it will take a extra two years to head in the right direction.

Obama/Biden
marty
He has NO CLUE!
I'll bet McPain gets up in the morning, and plays it by the seat of his pants like "Daddy" said.
McPain would not know the American dream if it landed on his head, instead of into his lap. We should not trust an idiot with friends in high places with this much air time.
Come on media, get into his ribs and make him tell.
You know he likes it.
HOPE AND RESOLVE..HAHAHA. I HOPE they can RESOLVE the illegal voters brought in by ACORN. Why is this not a top story with you poeple. (oh my gosh, did I just say "you people", now I am a freakin racist).
I wonder if we could create a way for the tax payers to have a share of the bank's interest in these 'bought out' mortgages...like members of a credit union own shares...That would be a way to spread out the cost and benefits.
Three hundred fifty electoral votes for Obama/Biden. How sweet that sounds.
McCain's bailout? What he said in the debate vs. what he said later, as "explained" by his "staff" of lobbyists:

The document posted and e-mailed by the McCain campaign on Tuesday night says at the end of its first full paragraph:

“Lenders in these cases must recognize the loss that they’ve already suffered.” --- So the government would buy the mortgages at a discounted rate, reflecting the declining value of the mortgage paper?

But when McCain reissued the document on Wednesday, that sentence was missing, to the dismay of many conservatives.

That would mean US taxpayers would pay face value for the troubled documents, which was the main reason Sen. Barack Obama gave for opposing the plan.

A McCain campaign "official" explained the change:

“That language was mistakenly included in the initial draft and it’s been corrected. It doesn’t reflect the intentions of the initiative, which necessitated the correction and the removal of the sentence. A simple mistake.”

One that could reward the mortgage companies and banks while adding (according to some economic experts estimates) nearly $3 TRILLION more to the cost of the bailout.

-------------------------------
John McCain wants the government to massively overpay for mortgages in a plan that would guarantee taxpayers lose money -- and put them at risk of losing even more if home values don’t recover. The biggest beneficiaries of this plan will be the same financial institutions that got us into this mess, some of whom even committed fraud.

You see, John McCain is counting on his base to not be actual "readers"... so they will vote based only on what they heard on the debate and on TV from surrogates... not the actual "re-issued" and "corrected" policy change.

How like John McCain... BUSINESS AS USUAL.
How DARE you compare the late, great Earl Weaver to that crazy John McCain?
When I agree with George Will, and I know that we're doing well. McCain is behaving so erratically, I'm almost feeling embarrassed for him.

Obama/Biden '08/'12
My goodness. What a "luvly" teaser -- getting us all focused on some completely unrealistic, somewhat idealized version of The McCain campaign, and how stoically determined they seem in the face of declining poll numbers -- makes me want to puke! These clowns are desperate now because they are behind. The wheels are completely off the Straight Talk Express and Karl Rove has driven it headlong into a sewage filled ditch. Dozens of party faithful were maimed or killed. What a Disaster republican governance has become -- this republican administration has been an international joke for years now. I recommend the old Bus be towed out of the ditch, (don't bother getting all the dents and scrapes out -- it looks more appropriate if it is all trashed inside and out. Let it be re-christened "The Dirty LieBox on Wheels". The McCain campaign is being run by complete slimballs and it should be pointed out. The republicans throw sh_t like their own Elephant Party takes a dump -- in [M]assive Volume. The rethugs throw Sh_t Everywhere!! They love it that way and revel in doing it. Creating confusion and fear is the only way they have to make sure that low information voters can't really sort through the facts. That is their only chance of winning. Intelligence and reason does not seem to matter if you are republican. It's a complete farce. When Obama is elected, I hope he proceeds to get rid of every republican in any position of power -- anywhere. They should embark on a purge of the entire Federal Government to oust all republicans.

How sad for America that the Palin/McCain camp insist on putting us all through this "sliming". Thanks for your help too, MSNBC! You perpetuate this nonsense just to try and even the odds. Beermistress McCain has never worked a day in her life. She has a net worth in excess of 100 million dollars and leads her wimpy husband around by his wallet. He resents her for this power she has over him, and verbally abuses her at times because he is a snarky maverick. Sindy has been known to have credit card bills in excess of $750,000.00 per month. Wow, I wonder which bills i'll put off this month to pay that tab!!! Humm..... She wears hundreds of thousands of dollars in jewelry at any one time, with clothing of the same calibur to match. This is all fine with me! It's the American Dream -- become rich, famous, powerful, living the High Life, but please "Sindy", you should never suggest you have any concept of what it's like to be middle class..lol. And if you can't understand the complexities of legislation your husband first voted for and then voted against regarding troop funding, then perhaps it's best to keep your mouth shut tight until further notice from your handlers. Never try and out bark the real lipstick wearing PittBull of your party -- Gov. Sarah "Barracuda" Palin! Now "that one" knows how to go from zero to witch in <60 seconds.

Both of these women are crude and of low character. :)
All hope is lost for McCain and his VP Palin and thank God for that!!!

FR: "The homeowner assistance plan that Senator John McCain announced without detail in the presidential debate Tuesday night," the New York Times writes "would allow millions of financially stretched Americans to refinance their mortgages with government help, but it would leave taxpayers to cover the losses, rather than the financial institutions that hold the original mortgages."

That's simply not true. It would just add to our debt. We'd have to actually collect additional taxes from people for this burden to be shouldered by taxpayers.

But Republicans don't like acknowledging debt. Why would they? They are responsible for the lion's share of it.

And the national debt is our biggest national security threat. Neither McCain nor Obama will admit it, but if the U.S. disappears as a nation state in our lifetime, it will be from a series of events that most likely were put in motion by this debt.
Translation: McCain sees he is going to lose and has chosen to do so with some degree of honor and dignity.
Too bad the "old guy" is throwing stones and inciting right-wingers who used to be the silent majority to hatred.  So much for good Christian values.  Evangelicals should be shaking with mortification that their guy is so desperate to turn to lies and distortions.  I'll take Obama, who was 8 years old during the Vietnam war when Ayers was a terrorist and who now has the support of one of McCain's endorsers (Annenbergs)than a lying old guy who puts his campaign first and country second by whipping up hatred.  It will backfire!  Obama/Biden 08.
Thank God for George Will.  I think the Republicans, whether McCain ends up winning or not...Oh God help me if McCain gets in....made a HUGE mistake by not picking Mitt Romney.  "The Mittster" would have been terrific on the Econonmy in these debates, and did I mention that Romney even LOOKS more Presidential. I will tell First Read this...Because Romney was "NOT THE ONE" in South Florida, I have Republican friends and family members voting for a Liberal Democrat instead because they cannot stand McCain.

McCain's best course of action is to do those things that rehabilitate is reputation. He can win his reputation but not the election.
Republican Conservatives think McCain has gone crazy. Now they come to relize it? The mortgage bailout he is saying he would do is his last rope out to see how he can change the race. American's can see how unstable and senile he is. We can't count on him for leadership. Should he die on us , Plin is not prepared to be President, she is an airhead. We do not trust her, all she has said are lies since she came from Alaska.McCain detroyed her political career. We see her as just a pretty face, and lack of substance. All she does is repeat what they have told her to say. They would destroy what Bush has left of our country. Time to take the risk with someone who has at leat shown leadership, Obama.
Of course McCain thinks he can win. Afterall, the Republicans are masters at stealing elections just not good at governance. Witness, George W. Bush is the worst president in history. Such a simian with an MBA from Harvard! Yeah, right he earned it. Not!
No one in America should be surprised to wake up on November 5th to learn the Republicans have done it again but God help us. McCain and Palin are the worst ticket in the last 40 years.

Those two individuals running the country would be worst than Bush/Cheney. That is truly frightening!
So SEN. McCain as I understand it, you want to refinance exiting defunct loans at a re-evaluated home price (which could be in the 50 to 100K range)? What are you going to do for the 90 percent of homeowners that pay the mortgage on time? Because of this I as a taxpayer will be responsible for 10 percent of irresponsible homeowners and the institutions you helped to deregulate.

Hell I want a piece of that; I'd love to have my mortgage re-financed at the rapidly declining home prices. Are you fricking insane? I say no to the irresponsible people who took on debt they couldn't afford.
More voters are listening this year and this year there are more voters and the ones that are listening are flocking to Obama.  McCain and moose girl will get the same basic narrow minds, the rich and some of the children of the rich.  McCain's entire personna is a fake.  Obama's not the perfect candidate but he's part of a growing movement and will be a good president.
Plainly pandering...mccain has steadfastly opposed helping any American who is in trouble and now we are supposed to believe he gives a rats behind about us...he is a mad old man tilting at windmills...yech
McCain has been chasing something in all directions since he began the nomination process. It made him look energetic and attractive. Soon it became embematic of the reality that he just operates that way. I don't think he is clear about much anymore, except that he wants to win. He likely is a good one or two issue man and does well as a representative but he just does not have the capacity to make wise and consistant decisions. I tried to follow his moves but it has been impossible. The Palin decision was the "over the top" decision that convinced me that he lost whatever good judgement he may have had at the start of the campaign. He chose bad people to advise him and they have led him down the path of negative campaigning when it was clear that the public did not want it. Finally, the party "leadership" needs to take some blame. They should have pushed Romney more even though the evangelicals would have had difficulty with him. Instead, they bowed to the far right and that is about all the votes they will get. He rose to his capacity as a senator and should continue there.
Leave it to McRich to taylor his package so that the big companies can make out like the bandits they are,and leave the regular-guy taxpayer McLie claims to care so much about holding the bag.
Typical McShame, typical Repiglicans
If Obama can be ahead in this race with nothing but a pretty package with nothing inside to back him up Ma Cain can promise the world why not. Obama will be giving to these people also if elected. That is why he is rumnning to give the country away to Blacks Christ they have most of it now. Thanks to Jimmy Carter. We that work in the middle class just get the bill as usual. Go John
The real question is sho is Sara Palin?  Idiots are completely willing to elect Sara Palin to the possible highest
office in the land, to take charge of their lives, knowing absolutely
nothing of substance about her. This is how Hitler got into power.
At least Senator Obama has been vetted. Believe me, he would not
have gotten this far without the feds going over him with a fine tooth
comb. You can't say the same about Sara Palin. It will be too late when
you can't check certain books out of the library, or your daughter who's
pregnant from rape can't have an abortion because fascist Palin won't
allow it. Americans should wake up and stop being vunerable and
stupid in their responsability to elect a qualified person to office. You
see what happened to the country under Bush.
Indiana for Obama!
McCain talks endlessly about all the things he says he knows – how to fix the economy, how to get bin Laden, how to win a war, how to get through tough times. So far, as voters have seen, he's failed to prove a single such claim.
Who is Sarah Palin? Why are we not able to get to know how she thinks about much of anything? Why is she linked so often to trying to control people, trying to go after people, being dishonest about her expenses as a governor? Why was she announced so late? Why did John McCain pick a relative unknown? What is he trying to fool us with? Will Sarah Palin operate as a snoop to find out who is against her? How can we trust her judgement when we see her with that pastor she has? What do we know about the pastor's background? Where did he come from? How much influence did he have in her government? I think Sarah Palin is a dangerous person. Does she remind us of those cute blonds in B movies who turn out to be the ones who kill the wife, or the girlfriend? Can we trust that wink? Can we trust the wife of someone who wanted to split Alaska from the United States? Was her husband influenced by politicos from the former Soviet Union? How can we trust John McCain who was involved with John Keating and enjoyed his favors and money? How can we trust John McCain who was part of a group that sponsored murder squads and had connections with nazies? Do we really know much about John McCains associations over the years? I'd like to hear him talk more about his friendship with Keating. I'd like to hear more directly from him about the nazi relationship. I'd like to hear more from him about his relationship with the group that sponsored murder squads. Why does he not talk about this?
THIS IS NO TIME TO PLAY A GAMBLE. I RECOMMEND TO GO WITH A CANDIDATE WITH PROVEN GLORIOUS PAST;EXPERIENCE; AND HONESTY AND THAT PERSON IS "McCAIN"
Lets go President Obama.  So, from what I gather, McCain wants to help the financial institutions, more then he does the Middle class who are struggling and losing everyday, par for the course since he was a leader in deregulating these banks and companies, that caused this mess.  In my measily investment, I have lost $3000 since this crisis started, and my mother in law, who is 86 and depends on her investments for her monthly income, has lost $33,000 and not much coming from our financial people that handle these investments.  We are going to recommend to her to take her money out of her investments, and do something else with her money.  She is scared to death what is going to happen to her life savings.  Thanks John McCain and Mr. Bush for helping americans lose their life savings and investments by deregulating these companies and making them rich, while the middle class is suffering and losing.  Im not impressed by anything he proposes, as he has no idea what he is doing.  You don't know from one day to the next what John McCain stands for, everytime you turn around, he has changed his position, and this does not show good leadership to me, does not show a steady hand, to me it shows he is irratic and all over the place, and trying to come up with something to win votes, instead of really helping americans.

Obama is trying to help middle class americans, he knows it will be tough, but he will fight for us, which is what he is doing.  He is fighting for us, and that is why he wants to be president, to put america back on the right track, which John McCain and Bush put us on because of greed and corruption.  What I don't understand, is why someone like Fiorino, just one of John McCains so called financial experts, needs $42 million dollars, especially since she ran HP into the ground, and caused alot of people to lose their jobs, and she was let go from the company, why does bad behavior get rewarded, I do not understand that philosophy.  Phil Gramm, one of John McCain's other financial advisors, said this was a psychological rescession and called the american people a bunch of Whiners, well we definitely have something to whine about Mr. Gramm, we are losing everything, and you and Mr. McCain just want to take more from us.  I would not trust any financial policy coming from John McCain, with these kind of people advising him on financial issues.  They don't care about middle class americans, they only care about how they can line their pockets and get rich off us americans.  We don't need this kind of mindset running this nation, and if John McCain wins for some reason, americans will lose.
