Down the ballot: McConnell's fight

Posted: Wednesday, October 22, 2008 9:03 AM by Domenico Montanaro
Filed Under:

KENTUCKY: The Los Angeles Times does the Kentucky Senate story, calling Sen. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's fight for reelection "perhaps the biggest surprise of this year's campaign."

INDIANA: The Indy Star isn't a fan of the holding pattern in its contested gubernatorial race. "Voter turnout driven by the top of the ticket will affect Daniels and Long Thompson more than anything they say or do. The fate of the governor's race is probably set. Indiana voters have strong opinions about Daniels -- good and bad -- and those opinions aren't likely to change after all this time."

NORTH CAROLINA: The DSCC’S new ad against incumbent Republican Elizabeth Dole notes that the North Carolina Senator voted for pork, including the Bridge to Nowhere. The end of the ad superimposes Dole's face in front of an snowy Alaskan landscape, complete with a brown bear. "Elizabeth Dole: Fighting for Alaska? Definitely out of touch with North Carolina."

This year has simply been to bad for Republicans to remain in power. I know not every Republican will lose, but it can not be a surprise that so many are fighting so hard when they have won so easily in the past.

Mitch Daniels, Incumbant governor, will win in Indiana. Obama will win in Indiana.

Elizabeth Dole will lose in North Carolina.
If Mitch McConnell is 'fighting' for his seat, the Republicans are in big, big trouble.

There isn't a single good reason out there to vote for any Republican this election.  I'm not drinking the kool-aid anymore.  Straight-ticket Democrat, baby!
I have no pity for the incumbants that have sat in their senate seats, and Gobernatorial chairs and watched while this country has gone down hill by the year, month and dailey, they have done nothing, told the rich to feel free to shop. I dont care about the
republicans, or the democrats either, if they have been there for 8 years bring them home to get a job and go to work. They havent been representing us, they have been representing themselves and many big corporations. They are suspose to doing the  work of the people. Remember that when you hit the vote button
this year

Obama/Biden

Dump the bums!  It's the only lesson that sinks in to newly elected officials.  If you don't represent - find a new job.
