Palin team rebuffs reports of discord

From NBC/NJ's Matthew Berger
SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- Sarah Palin left no one wondering Saturday how she was dealing with the brisk Iowan air.

"It was nice and crisp gettin' off the airplane ... it reminded me a lot of Alaska, so I put my warm jacket on. And it is my own jacket," Palin said at a rally at Sioux City West High School. "It doesn't belong to anybody else."

Palin's quip came amid growing questions about her campaign and tensions among the traveling staff. The Politico reported Saturday that Palin had lost confidence in some of her senior aides and begun relying more on her own instincts.

The article suggested reports this week that the Republican National Committee had spent $150,000 on clothing for her and her family was a final straw.

The Palin campaign was quick to respond to the reports of friction, with campaign spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt delivering a statement at the back of the campaign plane.

"Unnamed sources with their own agenda will say what they want, but from Gov. Palin on down, we have one agenda and that is to win on Election Day," she said.

At the rally, Palin suggested tax increases would create a society where what you thought was yours would be shared by everybody else.

"I don’t know what to think of having in my family Uncle Barney Frank or others to make decisions for me," Palin said. "I and John McCain tend to want to trust the American people with their income, their businesses, their things."

says a lot, don't ya think?

Says volumes either as the lack of education (kind of like Nuke U Ler) or as how she and a lot of people think about John being the also ran that he is in this race and the assumption that in a short period of time he will need to resign or be incapable of serving and we will end up with ANOTHER undeducated person that says Nuke U Ler and cannot string a full coherent sentence together like the last 8 years.  Palin is just another puppet like GDub that they want in so they can manipulate her just like the manipulated him for the last 8 years.
Country First! Gimme a break! Here's one Independent who looks forward to the destruction of The Republican Party as we know it on Nov. 4th. Hopefully, some grown-ups will come forward and banish cretins like Bush, Cheney, McCain, Dobson, Rove, Palin, and the rest of the lying, war mongering, elitist Republican leadership to Guantanamo.

It warms my heart that there have been a number of prominent Republicans who've cross party lines to endorse Obama. There is hope after all. On Novemver 5th, we must hold Obama and the democrats responsible for making things better. It's the only way.
McCain can't control her and she can't control herself.  Oh yes, let's put them in the White House. *sarcasm*
Sarah Palin is truly failin'. She's all about herself and being in front.  It's hard to believe that she and McCain can trust each other.  Seems like she's got her own agenda- with "I and John McCain".

The woman seems not to have all of her marbles- and very pathetic.
I think she is falling for your own rally rhetoric...like a preacher believing her own choir's hype.
I can't wait for her to go back to Alaska and maybe now that the whole country knows what a joke she is, they might even re-call her. Surely she does not represent the actual intelligent women in Alaska.
This doesn't surprise me. seems Nicole Wallace and Gov. Palin's lil brood are in a typical cat fight. wish I could put my explanation in a non sexist way, but we need to be honest here. then we have tom ridge in the newspaper today suggesting he should have been chosen for VP. I mean the repubs are self destructing and I couldn't be happier. I am a proud liberal, and Sen. Obama certainly has my note and I expect the Obama/Biden ticket to be successful. Sen. Obama will make a great president. perhaps one of our best! ever!
"I and John McCain tend to want to trust the American people with their income, their businesses, their things.""...but we just can't bring ourselves to do that, especially with their private lives and other Constitutional matters!!

The McCain campaign should have paid for a remedial high school course in English instead of flashy clothes. I think even Sarah Palin would have appreciated that.
Another campaign in disarray.  If McCain cannot even handle his campaign or his 'Jezebel' it's doubtful he'll have any control of her or his office if elected.  As to diva?  Mostly she is a user.  She has been able to get many men to show her the ropes in her climb and then stepped over them to get what she want.  When she screws up she loudly blames the other person..(see her Couric comments).  She hasn't duped women as successfuly, maybe because they don't think with their...
you know what, what is wrong this country anymore that all anyone knows how to do is be hateful. Shame on all of you for being so cruel and tearing down another human being. Just because you dont think or believe like she does give you the right to put her down. She is someones daughter, someones mother, someones sister, someones wife, she is just another human being that lives and breathes on this planet just like you.
"I and John McCain"

Instead of make-up and fashion classes, how about some grammar and history?
The hypocrisy of the entire statement of Palin is astonishing.

“My jacket doesn’t belong to anybody else.”  Which jacket out of your GOP sponsored $150,000 wardrobe do you refer to Gov. Palin?  Would you like to sponsor some of that money to purchase jackets for people whom have been thrown out of their houses, and live under a bridge to nowhere now?

Your quip to state that you have lost confidence in some of your senior aides is nothing but a statement from a loser.  Apparently your aides have lost all confidence in you, your “troopergate” scandals and other doubtful practices on your behalf.

If your goal is to win the campaign, than your goal should be to outline any financial relief efforts that the GOP may have for the working middleclass people, which contributes to 95% of the country.  Prancing around like a “can’t touch” Barbie doesn’t speak well for those efforts.

Tax increases, as proposed by Sen. Obama and Sen. Biden, which will be for the more fortunate under us, will help the less fortunate in purchasing that winter-jacket for themselves and their children.
The more fortunate are not going to be taxed to death, but a modest increase will help people like “Joe the Plunger” in making a small business run, save up for college for his kids, and pay his mortgage, so he doesn’t join the daily tens of thousands of people who are being thrown out of their houses.
Team Palin/McCain (yes, she thinks she's first)is looking more and more like a subprime lending brokerage: falling apart at the seams and looking for a bailout!
As a thirty-year veteran of teaching English grammar let me assure you that "I and John McCain" is the result of reading a transcript of a spoken message.  People make these kind of speech errors all the time.  Try reading a transcript of a Joe Biden answer and you will find run-on sentence after run-on sentence.  It's okay, it's extemporaneous speaking.

What is more revealing is the jumping on this error by those of you here.  What it reveals is the strange need of so many to use ad hominem attacks, a fallacious way to argue that reveals a weak mind and narrow heart.

In case you don't understand what I just said, here it is in words you will get:  You're pathetic.
