Introducing 'Tito the builder'

LEESBURG, Va. -- For days, Palin has been speaking of “Tito the Builder” as another embodiment of a small business owner seeking lower taxes -- in short, another “Joe the Plumber.”

Today, Tito Munoz spoke for himself.

Munoz -- dressed in an orange reflector jacket and yellow construction hardhat filled with Republican campaign stickers -- welcomed Palin to Virginia with a message of free enterprise and hard work.

“Everything we stand for is in danger by higher taxes and less freedom,” Munoz told an enthusiastic crowd, which frequently chanted his name. “Everything we stand for is made stronger by people like you, like John McCain and Sarah Palin.”

For her part, Palin noted the name Tito has not been mentioned this often since the heyday of the Jackson Five. And she said the Colombian immigrant was unhappy with the way Joe Wurzelbacher had been treated after he questioned Obama at a Toledo, OH rally earlier this month.

“Tito wants to know, and I quote, he asked, he says, 'Why the heck are you going after Joe The Plumber,’” Palin said. “‘Joe The Plumber has an idea. He has a future. He wants to be something else. Why is that so wrong?"

Palin reiterated the message to small business owners she has said daily on the trail, suggesting Obama’s tax plans would hurt small businesses and make it harder for them to hire new employees.

“Tito loves this country, and Tito isn't the only McCain supporter who feels that way,” she said. “In fact, I know that we have a lot of small business owners here with us today, and they feel just like Tito does."

Palin also said a McCain Administration would lower business taxes, which are the second highest in the world (although many US corporations find loopholes around them).

The crowd here in Leesburg was creative, inaugurating several new slogans, including “I am Joe” and “Vote McCain, use your brain.” When Palin began speaking of her goals to help families with children with special needs, the audience chanted “Bless your heart.”

The stop in Leesburg is one of three rallies Palin will hold in Virginia today. The statewide tour comes as the latest Washington Post/ABC News poll finds Obama with an eight-point lead in this traditionally red state.

  Could this get any sillier?
Either that or half-truths, out-and-out lies
    or ignorance.
Why is the GOP touting 'that one' for a Republican
future? They must be the same ones who have orchestrated
the dynamic GOP present!

And in Ohio, according to NPR, the issue of gravest import is  .  .  . IraQ?  No.  The economy?  No.  Ethical government?  No.  Taxes?  No.  The foreclosure crisis?  No.

Abortion.

Wow.

Gee, Sarah, take out Tito and substitute "immigrant -- illegal or otherwise" -- and how does that square with the republican platform?
All of you democrats don't own small businesses so you don't realize how much taxes effect our businesses.  On paper I make a fortune but it is all left in the company to create more jobs, bring in new machinery, and create new product lines.  I pay taxes on what my business Supposedly makes.  My business made $1.5 million last year, I actually brought home $120,000.  I pay taxes on the $1.5 million.  Does thar make sense to you democrats?  I just don't understand your thinking.  None of you understand inventory, cash flow, and other issues that dig into the "paper" profit that the "wealthy" supposedly bring in.

I have increased jobs at my company from 20 in 2001 to over 60.  With Obama's new tax plan, I will fire 4-5 employees in 2009, the first decrease in years.  I will not bring in new equipment, and I won't expand my product lines.  I can't afford to because I have to save that money for taxes.  Instead of complaining about the supposed wealthy, you should start thinking about the five employees I am going to fire and what their lives will be like.  If they were still employeed they would have been paying taxes that will not be paid now.  They will not have jobs.  Most will collect unemployment.  In the long run, the government will collect less tax from me and my employees because they raise taxes now.

Do any of you believe in the bible.  The parable of the talents should explain it all.  The Lord gave 1, 2, and 5 talents.  Teh people with 2 and 5 talents turned theirs into 4 and 10 talents.  The person with 1 talent buried theirs.  When the Lord came for a report, he was happy with those who had received 2 and 5 talents because they had worked hard and turned their talents into more talents.  He was upset with the person who hid their talent and didn't turn it into more talents.  What ever happened to the 1 talent?  The Lord gave it to the person with 10 talents and increased their talents to 11.  Obama is exact opposite.  He wants to take away from the person with 10 talents and give it top the person who will least benefit society, the person with 1.  At least the person with 11 talents can provide a job for the person with 1.  Obama's tax plan will kill small business and will cost our country.
This is incredible...So, let's just say Joe and Tito run a business and they pay themselves $250,000 per year.  Their argument is that they have no incentive to make more because they will pay more taxes.  They will pay 4% higher tax on the amount OVER $250k.  So, if they make $300k, they will pay an additional $1,500 in taxes.  Are you telling me that they would rather forego the additional $50k in income because they would have to pay $1,500 in additional taxes? And, this additional hit of $1,500 will prevent them from adding employees?  Take it up to $500k.  That is an additional $7,500 in taxes.  Even then, that's not even enough to hire someone.  And, that is IF they are paying themselves that much money from their company!  If that is their business logic, then they don't deserve to be in business.  Why is everyone confused?  Tax brackets are not a new concept.
Obama will not kill jobs.  Look at McCains campaign and how it has been run?  Not welol-

Obama, his campaign very focused and organized.  I volunteer for the Obama campaign and I am telling you the ground work is unbelievable.  I have been volunteering at Colorado-I am amazed!
I VOTED FOR OBAMA

PLEASE VOTE EARLY AND OBAMA NEEDS EVERY VOTE TO COUNT-
IT IS YOUR VOTE, YOUR VOICE, YOUR EMPOWERMENT FOR CHANGE!!!!
Tito = Dodo
Let's see if Fox News has him on...
Hey Tito read all the facts before you support McCain-Palin, because they are not going to be on the side of 95% of Americans like you. Unless you have a very rich CEO President of a major oil company as an uncle. You will be in much worse shape than you are today. That is fact!
I'm sick of this talk about rights.

There is no RIGHT to healthcare.
There is no RIGHT to marry.
There is no RIGHT to own a house.

For some reason Obama has everyone confusing rights with priviliges.  A RIGHT is something laid out in the constitution or the Bill of RIGHTS.  Some of these are, the RIGHT to own a gun.  The RIGHT to property.  The RIGHT to freely practice your religious beliefs.  The RIGHT to LIFE.

The only rights that you people want to allow are the right to be gay, the right to kill babies, and the RIGHT du jour...the right to take people's property in the name of "equality" and "fairness".

If the country doesn't start to realize that these WANTS are not RIGHTS, we are doomed to failure.
and the repugs just keep getting stupider and stupider -

REPUBLICANS:  PRIDE IN IGNORANCE
I'm so sick and tired of reading about Republican's charging Obama with wanting to 'redistribute wealth'. No one seems to want to talk about the fact that Republican economic policy also redistributes wealth, it redistributes it from the middle and lower classes to the very rich. That's not some ridiculous charge, that's the entire basis of supply side economics. You take the capital and you put it in the hands of the capitalists. The problem is that, like during the great depression, supply side economics doesn't really work. Our system is built on the backs of consumers and Republican economic philosophy hurts the majority of consumers.

In a market system when you bet against consumers you fail, which is exactly what is happening now. Lets start moving some of that wealth the Republican's redistributed to their very rich friends back to the people who will spend it on consumer goods and drive the economy!
Are you kidding me, if Sarah Palin was a man, no mention would be made of her clothing, her hair,or makeup, her person at all, I can not believe people are being so pitiful!! I guess it is to distract people from what she is saying, which is what Americans are excited for, not politics as usual and I do believe McCain and she will get rid of the excess spending in government.  I do not want 50% of my income to be given to the govenment, or people that do not work, while I work three jobs!!
Since most comments are just typical mindless repetitive smears, I'll just leave a comment.

First, I am a Democrat for McCain/Palin and was at this particular rally here in Virginia.  Second I live in the deep blue city of Falls Church and know the State of Virginia quite well.

You Obamabots better hope the non-historical turn out models being used by pollsters to inflate poll numbers, especially here in Virginia aren't going to once again be overblown in relation to Republican turnout.

I voted Kerry and remember the hype of turnout.  The pollsters despite the temptations created by such hype, stuck with historical models and were nervous, yet those models turned out to be correct.  Now they are doing the opposite and are nervous because they are changing polling models to something they think might happen yet has no historical precedent.  One thing I am sure of, to add a +12 Democrat weighting here in Virginia since 2000 and +9 Democrat weighting since 2004 is a fantasy.

I am not saying McCain will win, I am saying that if Obama is not greater than +6 up then Obama will lose Virginia.  Don’t blame the difference on racism, blame the Pollsters.
Tito, as a fellow Colombian immigrant, I am so disappointed in you...shame on you for siding with Palin. Tito the Dummy
So, Sarah, how's your buddy Stevens doing?  Being convicted of seven counts of fraud... nice associates you have.  You obviously knew him much better than Obama knew Ayers.  So what spin will the Republicans put on this one, Maverick?
More personal attacks.  Very sad commentary on Democrats.  I'm an independent voter but you people are the worst representatives for your candidate.  And, if you are the example of a guy who is supposed to "unite" this country, then we are in big trouble.
So, real Americans who hold blue collar jobs are subject to ridicule because they do not support 'the one'...
======
No, they're not being ridiculed because they hold blue collar jobs or just because they support McCain over Obama. The issue is that they've bought into the lies McCain/Palin have been telling about which candidate's tax plan is better for the middle class. McCain & Palin seem to think that if you say something often and loudly enough that it becomes true, but it doesn't work that way.
Imagine if you will how our years hence during the Second Coming of Barack (the next election) if Tito and Joe amidst much fanfare jumped ship into the Democratic camp !! Imagine if you will how this partisan blog if it manages to survive to that moment might then present the idea that these men have now seen the light and should be elevated to being Apostles (members of Cabinet)
McCain/Palin 2008... so what´s next, Ahmadinejad/Bin Ladin 2012? A name change to Soviet Republic of America, or a religious dictatorship? We´ve been through all of that, and trust me you don´t want it!
I am so sick of Blank the Blanker.  I am beginning to feel like the republican campaign speeches are just one giant mad lib....."Name" the "Occupation" said "exclamation" when he saw Obama's tax plan.

The majority of us work hard.  What makes the opinion of a plumber or a builder more valid than that of a nurse, scientist, fireman, accountant, administrative assistant, broker, or whatever.

Joe wanted to be a smart a**, and now no one will leave him alone.  Now it's Tito's turn.  As the saying goes, you get what you ask for.
This is an open comment to anyone making under  $250,000, if you vote for McCain, you have to be soft in the head, how do you support someone who supports big business, and trashes people who make less then that, Joe The Plumber , Tito the builder, wake up !!

As if anyone believes Palin was always going to give all of the clothes to charity and as if $150k was justified by any rationale.  Clothing allowance, then 'Joe the Plumber', now 'Tito the Builder'- real people stating real opinions?  Let’s get real.  Objective listeners being rational would have to see through all of the intentional twisting of everything and how ridiculous those things are.  Example: Why do they always neglect to note that Obama's plan only advocates higher taxes for the top 5%, those who have been placated and patronized by the Bush Admin and the Republicans all along, and that it calls for real tax breaks for the middle-class who are the backbone of the country and who have been neglected, lied to, given apathy, and the costs for years?  And why do they advocate the continuing of that inequity by saying the top 5% pay a large percent of the taxes but then neglect to ever point out that their incomes have actually grown by more than twenty times what everyone else's have?  McCain-Palin and the Republican Party are trying to hide the facts and neglect addressing the issues with real solutions while they propose to actually just continue with more of the same.
I noticed lots of posts that were Pro Obama.  I guess Republicans have to get home from their JOBS before they can blog.  I am sure you guys have no idead what work is all about.  Stupid, is not researching your candidate.  I did my research in February, I found out your guy was hand picked by george Soros (the owner of the Democratic party) way back in 2004.  They backed him financially to get a seat in the u.S. Senate, then they started IMMEDIATELY, the campaign for the Democratic Nomination.  He's a fraud... c'mon guys, are you afraid to do any research beyond the face value you place on the Commentary fed to you by Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews?  BTW, I am not a GOP faithful, I was a Democrat committed to the state Caucus of Virginia for the 10th Congressional District.  But because I like to feed myself, I don't sit back and get spoon fed BS, I did lots of research on this guy who could only show up and vote "present" 129 times.  Do any of you know these things?  Do you know that our party under the leadership of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barney Frank want to seize Americans 401(k) plans and put them in a Government pool that will draw 3% interest.  If this isn't Socialism, what is? I assume you all have brains in those heads of yours, instead of thinking of ways to snark Palin, why don't you google ANY of the things I've just mentioned.  Tune into No Quarter if you want to read some REAL news story...or just keep on drinkin' the Kool aid, after all, ignorance is bliss, right?
“Tito loves this country, and Tito isn't the only McCain supporter who feels that way,” she said. “

You see, this is the kind of stuff that drives me crazy!  So I guess anyone who plans on voting for Obama doesn't love this country?  OR anyone who questions anything this country does, is un-American?  Or if you don't wear a flag pin, you're unpatriotic?  More divisions being made in this country by making SOME of the people feel superior over the others.  This is something I have noticed Palin is very good at.  Christians are better than Muslims . . .  Conservatives are better than liberals . . .  Rural America is more American than cities. . . etc. etc. etc.  Someone please make her shut up and go home.  She has only stirred up the religious right and the fanatics in this country.  The rest of the people she has turned off!  Thank God!  Some people say she has a future in the republican party.  I just don't see it.  I think the republican party has to go back to what it used to represent.  Less government.  She wants to run the Congress and change the Supreme Court.  She will divide this country more than George Bush if that's possible!
Tito the Builder...are you serious?  This is the worst campaign in the history of campaigns.  I've never in my life witnessed such a complete mess. If you Democrats can't win this, you need to give up - period.  This election is being handed to you on a plate.

If Palin were a man she would have never been considered for the VP spot by McCain.  He put country last, and campaign first.  What a circus act.  What an insult to Americans.
