In Florida, Biden picks up pace

From NBC/NJ's Mike Memoli
OCALA, Fla. -- With one week until Election Day, Biden is picking up the pace. Not only is he fitting more public events onto his schedule each day, but his stump speech has been cut in half, now ranging just over 15 minutes long.

That was the case again this morning at the Dancing Horses Farm, where Biden again breezed through his remarks on a day that was chilly by Florida standards.

“It’s great to be here with you all, and in a county that’s produced a Triple Crown winner, Affirmed,” Biden said. “I think Florida is going to produce another winner here again, because how you go goes the nation in all probability.”

Appearing in Marion County, Biden acknowledged that “an awful lot of folks in this area put their faith in George Bush.” In 2004, the president carried the county by double digits. “But just as many of those people who put their faith in the Bush policies know that those policies have not worked for Ocala. And we cannot afford four more years of the same policies they took a shot on four years ago, ladies and gentlemen,” he said.

Biden’s quick speech included only a brief summary of the Obama-Biden tax plan, one McCain questioned today because of comments made in a local interview yesterday.

“Barack Obama and I recognize that when the American middle class does well, the rich do just fine and the poor do better,” Biden said. “We want to rebuild the middle class. And here’s what we’ll do: cut taxes for working people. Cut taxes for small businesses. Encourage and lay out a clear plan to end our dependence on foreign oil.”

He did not specify who would be considered part of the middle class, a designation that McCain was questioning. Still, he argued that the Republicans’ plans were not the answer.

“I know we’re not running against George W. Bush, But we are in fact running against the very Bush economic policies that John McCain wants to continue, and is promising to continue,” he said. “Policies that call for more taxes for companies that send jobs overseas, while providing no relief for a hundred million middle class families. Policies that call for taxing your heath care benefits as if they’re income. Policies that call for another four billion dollars in tax cuts for the Exxon Mobils in the world, as if they need it.”

Biden also again defended Obama against Republican attacks, though he did not compare them as he did yesterday to those levied against some of the great presidents.

“[In] the turbulent economy that we’ve been in, Barack Obama has demonstrated a steady hand. In a dangerous world, Barack Obama has demonstrated sound judgment. To a nation desperate for a better day, he offers new ideas, new leadership and real hope,” Biden said of his running mate.

Biden continues his Florida bus tour later today with an evening rally in Melbourne.

GOOD RIDDANCE
VOTE OBAMA/BIDEN on 4 NOV!!!

A RABID REPUBLICAN, VIETNAM-ERA VET, FAT OLD PREJUDICED WHITE GUY NOW FOR OBAMA/BIDEN
When McCain says: "he's going to raise YOUR taxes," all the mindless monkeys in the crowd reply: "Boooo!" because they are too ignorant to realize that McCain is NOT talking to 95% of that audience; he's talking to the 5% who make a shitload of money. And yet, for some reason, ALL the other people in the crows seem to think that they are somehow part of that taxed group and that THEIR money will be taken by the Big Bad Government. They are IDIOTS, plain and simple.

There are two types of Republicans: rich people and suckers! And every election the rich people manage to convince the suckers that Democrats will raise their taxes, when in reality they will only raise it on the top earners.
CHANGE BEGINS IN FLORIDA, THE STATE WILL GO FOR OBAMA/BIDEN AND WIN THE ELECTION. GO JOE GO !!!! THE ELECTION WILL BE OVER BY 10:05 P.M. E.S.T ON TUESDAY. THE SUNSHINE STATE WILL BRING IT HOME !
Keep it short and sweet Joe!  No need for long-winded speeches now where you might say something the McNasty campaign will twist and distort into some lying talking point.  I saw Biden on MSNBC this morning and he sounded really great.  He should stick to this winning formula of short sweet speeches and leave the heavy lifting to Obama.

At least we have Biden to give us inspiration for the future while McNasty only has his Twisted Sister ruuning mate to run her mouth off by not sticking to the script McNasty provides her.  Yep we'll have lots more verbal gaffes from the Shrill Shrew from Alaska who abused her power and is now abusing her running mate position to campaign for herself for 2012.  She will tear the repugnant one's losing party apart if she tries to run in 2012.

Go Obama/Biden 08/12!
Funny. I've had my copy of F.A. Hayek's 1944 landmark book, "The Road to Serfdom" laying around the house for a few years. I finally picked it up this weekend and started reading it. This book has a relevance for each generation. In his preface to the 1976 edition he nails down his definition of "socialism". " ... socialism has come to mean chiefly the extensive redistribution of incomes through taxation and the institutions of the welfare system." Sound familiar?
Keep up the great work, Senator Biden!

We need you and Senator Obama to restore HONESTY, INTEGRITY, & SOUND JUDGMENT to the White House.

We have had ENOUGH of the McCain/Palin LIES and DISTORTIONS.   It is truly sickening how distorted they are ----say anything, do anything to win.

VOTERS -----   Get out the vote!!.  Do NOT sit home and think it's over.

Trust Obama and Biden that they will work hard FOR YOU to restore America to decency and pride in the world and to bring our economy back on track.

OBAMA/BIDEN '08

Short and Sweet...Joe! Let McCain continue to split the GOP, Let Sarah be Sarah, AND HOLD YOUR TONGUE....and the GOP will be TOAST!
This Florida Democrat will be voting straight Republican this year.

We need checks and balances in Washington.
I make $250,000 and according to Obama's tax plan I will get a $750 increase in taxes. Why should I vote for him when people making less will get a cut.
VOTE OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!
I can only say....thank you Senator Obama for selecting Senator Biden...who is working his heart out...not always perfect...but he is on your side...
The Democrats cannot let up.
With the republicans trying to suppress our legitimate votes, stooping to every level to try
to once again steal an election, we have to make
this a landslide.
We CANNOT allow these dishonorable people win.
American voters, get out and vote for Barack
and Joe and let the republicans  know that we
have had ENOUGH!!
Do you thing Biden! Just don't give interviews while you're down there. Those small jounalist are coming up with "gotcha question" just so they can be put on the national spot light.
The GOP are fighting against themselves, pointing fingers at each other and digging themselves in a bigger hole in the process. Awesome!!!
VOTE!!!VOTE!!!VOTE!!!VOTE!!!VOTE!!!VOTE!!!VOTE!!!VOTE
" ... socialism has come to mean chiefly the extensive redistribution of incomes through taxation and the institutions of the welfare system." Sound familiar?
Rob, from Iowa, "I'm Glad I'm a Republican" (Sent Tuesday, October 28, 2008 12:50 PM)

YES, Rob!  I, too, am sick of welfare for the rich, and the redistributions of MY earnings to THEM!  Thanks for pointing out what 'socialism' means.
I wouldn't be surprised if republicans would steel the votes again. Republicans are people send by evil.
I listened to McCain again and stll have not heard what he is going to do to solve the American problems.  All he can do is bad mouth Obama.  I have switched and voted Democrat.

I have a question for those who make less than 250,000 a year. How many jobs have you created lately?  I for one know that with Obama I will not be giving out christmas bonuses or raises at the same level I have for the past 8 years. SO when dad or mom comes home and says sorry I cannot buy you that I did not get a raise this year blame Obama. If my taxes go up your pay raises go down, I have to keep my buisness open some how.
In Florida perhaps more than other swing state it may help to rememmber for a moment a northern state, Indiana, in the Dem primary. I know that was fought between two democrats, but a disturbing trend reared itself there, how prevalent I do not know but one quite likely to reappear again in the volatile state of Fla. It appeared that an anecdotal number of exit pollers (their total numbers unknown but high enough to be reported to the Indy Star and in Louisiana and Miss as well) reported that many blacks knew little of Obama's platforms or even the man himself only that he was black. Nonetheless, even when pressed about this by these exit pollers these blacks still admitted to voting for Obama. Obviously, this doesn’t mean by any interpretation that all blacks voted in that thoughtless fashion. Also, those reports being only anecdotal would have more credence if they had been part of a larger study.

I'm sure a parallel phenomenon happened with white voters voting for Clinton, but the difference seemed to lie in the ratio of voters voting in such a careless fashion. Meaning, Clinton did not pull more than 60 % of the vote in Indiana or anywhere for that matter, whereas in Indiana Obama got 98 % of the black vote.

I understand black excitement concerning Obama as the first black with a chance at the White house, but many reporters still launder that kind of voting in  p.c. fashion as "racial voting" when, if a voter does vote knowing little to nothing about a candidate except his race, how can that be  called "racial voting" when by simple definition that is racist voting. Though it would never be condoned in the Constitution, I know I could accept a minimal knowledge of the issues and candidates as a requirement to vote, since that privilege should be reserved for those who care enough to learn, not those who kneejerkedly choose by color alone..

"socialism has come to mean chiefly the extensive redistribution of incomes through taxation and the institutions of the welfare system." Sound familiar? "

Socialism can work in two different directions. Redistribution of wealth is also what republicans have been doing with their tax policies for the past 28 years, except they are redistributing to make the wealthy wealthier.

A rich ruling class and a poor working class. Where have I heard that before????

In 2000, McCain did not think tax cut for middle class was socialism. He advocated Obama's position on tax cuts. Now, McCain will say anything just to win an election:

John McCain killed an American citizen in a car accident in 1964 and the government & the military covered it up, now we know why John McCain won’t release his military records. Research John McCain & “The Project for a New American Century” if you want to know the chilling plans that John McCain has for your children’s future, he is a co-founder of this group that is committed to starting wars all over the world to control the populations.

John McCain = The Draft & WORLD WAR III
geez, RD. ALEXANDRIA, VA: you didn't mention grumpy lol. thanks for your vote! as a vietnam era voter, i stand with you at the memorial on the mall, and say "never again!"
O JOE!!! LET THE MCNASTY AND HIS SIDE KICK PUPPY JUST GO ON SAYIBG WHAT EVER THEY CAN'T WIN THEY WON'T WIN.
Did Biden stop buy that Orlando TV station, you know, to finish up that interview he bailed on the other day?
I listen to POTUS 08 all day long and I listen to all the stump speeches from both sides... Since McWar was nominated as the GOPs candidate all I've heard is "I've got a plan" for this and that... I haven't heard one concrete explanation of his so called 'plans'.....I'VE HEARD REHORIC AND LIES....

Meanwhile, Obama is articulate, honest and thorough... An Obama/Biden administration will bring intelligence, wisdom and honor to the Whitehouse, something that has been missing for a long time.   An Obama/Biden administration will restore the middle class, spread diplomacy and restore our standing as leader of the free world.  FROM THE OBAMA/BIDEN CAMP I'VE HEARD REAL SOLUTIONS, AND REASONS TO HOPE...

I voted yesterday and I FEEL GOOD!

GO OBAMA/BIDEN
Obama / Biden are the best for our county. They represent everything good about America. McCain and Palin represents everything bad for the country. ie: Tax breaks for the rich oil companys, more wars (Palin wants to attack Russia, Iran and any country that she believes hates the U.S). and they still believe in the Republican economic philosophies that has got the country where we are today. McCain said it Sunday on Meet The Press. The Republican's have had the last 8 years and look where the country is.  It is time to let Obama / Biden put the country back on track and prosperity. Put America as a leader and a country that is respected around the world.
The same as Rosevelt did after the Republican Hoover.
"I make $250,000 and according to Obama's tax plan I will get a $750 increase in taxes. Why should I vote for him when people making less will get a cut. "

Because then people have more money to pay their mortgage (thus less forclosures), more money to buy goods (thus business do better) and require fewer government service, such as child care assistance, Medicare, ets, (thus you cut spending).  All of this means things getter better for everyone.  Rather than supply side economics it is demand side economics.

And secondly, you are complaining about $750 more in taxes?  That's $62.50 a month.  I could afford that and I make less than 1/5 of what you claim to make.  Some people can't and that is why we need to lower their tax burden and bring you back to the tax rate of the 1990s - when things were actually going well.
Regarding Barbara West, so called tv reporter who's husband is GOP advisor, I must say well well something in Florida still smells pretty bad.  She pretends to be unbiased reporter.  She should be fired immediately.  Not only was she rabid, she looks like botox queen of the world.  People like her are what's wrong with American.  Go back to your dog house you evil attack dog.
Democrat for McCain-Palin, Florida (Sent Tuesday, October 28, 2008 12:56 PM)

Democrat:

If you want checks and balances then vote McCain/Palin. Those of us supporting Obama refused to be checked any longer from moving forward into a brighter and more diversified future.

As far as balanced if you vote Mccain/Palin then you you are voting against what you want to achieve. The McCain/Palin ticket is far from balanced.

If you want checks and balances with our government and political leaders we already have those in place. We, the Amecian people, are the checks and balances.

Give Obama a chance. If he does not work out we the American people will check him as we have decided to do with the Bush/McCain policies of the past. No more, not now, not this time.

Give Obama the opportunity to shine as most of us know he can.
I wish I could make $250,000 a year. I would be glad to give that extra tax money to my country. Some people are just plain greedy. As a business owner what I pay out I deduct as expenses. I am taxed on what I make after expenses and If I still make that magic number after all my deductions  I will gladly pay. Any one who says the opposite has problems.
hey of you business makes less than $250,00.00 you will get a tax break..thats about 95% of small buisness's..if you dont want a tax break..go ahead and drink that republican kool aid.
The important issue in this election is the economy, and how to grow it forward. Keep on message Joe! In the end it is about good paying jobs, health insurance, retirement plans, fair trading policies, and common sense bottom-up economic policies. Vote early! "Remember New Hampshire!"
How dumb can you be? your tax base will stay the same up to 250,000. once you make that 1 dollar over, it goes to 39% and that's on everything over 250,000 and guess what right now it's 35%. so you idiot's are having a fit over a 4% increase over 250,000 for married couples and 200,000 for singles. To you guys to make all that money something has to be missing, oh,it must be common sense.
Finally, First Read posted the tax breaks by income:

Per the Tax Policy Center, here is how Obama's tax plan breaks down for individuals:
$0-$18,891 = $567 tax cut
$18,982-$37,595 = $892 tax cut
$37,596-$66,354 = $1,118 tax cut
$66,355-$111,645 = $1,264 tax cut
$111,646-$160,972 = $2,135 tax cut
$160,973-$226,918 = $2,796 tax cut
$226,919-$603,402 = $121 tax increase
$603,403-$2.87 million = $93,709 tax increase
$2.87 million-plus = $542,882 tax increase

Do the research people.  The middle class is better off under Obama's tax plan.  Go to this website to see your particular situation:

Vote.

Obama/Biden '08
Why bother?  Fl elections will be just as crooked this year as they were in 2000.  Not enough precincts, making people stand in line 5 hours, machines breaking down, not enough workers.

They knew over a year ago this election would be historical and there is no reason for this.

Gore lost FL by 537 votes is all and they stop counting later to find boxes had not been counted at all and military votes not counted.
To small business owner in south: You make no economic sense. So what if you give out less of a bonus or merit. That doesn't pay for squat; yes, maybe a Christmas gift but who cares when you can't get health care or pay off a loan. It would seem to me that small business is going out of business because there's no business coming through the doors. Wonder why that is? Hmmm? Maybe because your customers don't have any money. So stop being a yahoo who the Republicans depend upon being dumb and understand that you will NEVER be Cindy McCain and you will NEVER have that kind of money. But with customers with enough dough in their pocket, you just might make you a living.
Oh and this economy is in such good shape because of George Bush. How will McCreep change that...he won't
So you low information voters...vote Republican and see how this country goes deeper into the toilet
obamas plan calls for your taxes to go up so you can cover for those who dont pay taxes. thats just not right .just go to newsmax.com and see 'hilary backers decry massive obama vote fraud.
If you make $250,000 a year you can afford a $750 a year tax increase in order to give people, who make much less, a break!  Republican GREED kills me...
Anything, ANYTHING from Biden is far better than more silly commentary from Palin. She has embarrassed normal GOP'ers, and only energized the extreme right-wing base. And that is not a winning strategy.
