A week before the election, pundits are abuzz with speculation that Republican Sen. Elizabeth Dole, once considered unbeatable in North Carolina, may be on her way to a defeat at the hands of well-funded newcomer Kay Hagan.  Things must be looking pretty tough... Check out this new ad from the Dole campaign, which slams Hagan for attending a September fundraiser with members of the "Godless America" PAC.  The spot highlights comments from members of the "secular" group, including one who proclaims, "There was no Jesus."

The ad concludes "What did Hagan promise in return?"

Hagan's team is calling for a cease-and-desist order, calling the spot "the nastiest, most misleading, negative ad of the campaign."

Can we admit that Christian fundamentalism in America is as dangerous as Islamic fundamentalism is in the Middle East?

The Christian Fundamentalists (re: Evangelicals) exercise their votes to impose their religious beliefs upon the rest of the country, in an attempt to circumvent the seperation of church and state.

Their platform and beliefs are dangerous, creationism stunts the development of the young scientific mind, they see "the bible" as a historical fact, and historically speaking in America, their religion justified slavery, segregation and racial violence.

Christian fundamentalists expose their ignorance and stupidity almost every time they open their mouths, yet we accept their POV as if it were legitimate.

It isn't. And if it is, I'm sure Jesus will forgive me - its his job.
Just vote democratic down the ballot and get these fearmongering moneygrubbers out of office. It's time to take our country back and stop letting all the small-minded and ignorant people be in charge of our lives.  ENOUGH!!!!
Attacks like this don't work in Vermont or Oregon, but they do in North Carolina.  Remember, this is the same state that produced unrepentant racist Jesse Helms.  Sleazy race-baiting ads helped push him over the top, and sleazy anti-God ads can do the same for Liddy.  It's a tight race and this will make or break Dole -- and unfortunately, I think she'll survive.
What happened to the Republican party? I use to have respect for the party and be a proud registered Republican, but these past elections, wow, nothing but hate and scare tactics are coming out.

No longer a registered Republican, but now a registered Independent and voted for Obama.
i'm so sick and tire of these so called christian right wing extremist! these people need to leave God out of politics. being a christian is being Christ-like, and they're far from it! they lie, fear mongering, cheat, and hate! a good example from sarah palin. we already had 8 years of this nonsense, it's time to change, move forward and get this country back where it should be!

peace........OBAMA-BIDEN 08 FOR CHANGE!!
Liddy Dole, you, ma'am, just LOST MY VOTE!
